A lovely family-run hotel and guesthouse. Well-equipped rooms and excellent cuisine. The only downside is the main road running in front of the hotel.

We went to the Krone with the family today for dinner. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. The salad was very good, especially the seasonal ones. I also really like the fact that they also offer vegan and vegetarian dishes. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We've been coming here for many years.

I ate Cordon Bleu here on June 26, 2025. I'm very sensitive to that and only say "good" when it was really good. They asked me if I wanted sauce, which I said yes to and got. The food was very hot and very, very tasty. I'm a very good cook myself and know what it should taste like when it tastes good. I'll definitely be back. Thank you very much.

Very lovingly run inn with clean and well-kept rooms. The inn is very well located at the gates of Schwäbisch Gmünd and is well connected by bus. The restaurant has a small and very well selected daily menu. The dishes were cooked to perfection and seasoned. The prices are very reasonable in relation to the quality and are recommended. We would be happy to visit again.

We were visiting the town but didn't arrive until the evening due to long traffic jams, but we were still given a very friendly welcome. Our room was large and comfortably furnished in a rustic style with a small bathroom but a large shower. The beds are wide and very comfortable, with feather pillows and duvets. Tea is available for you to make yourself in the room and if needed there are bottles of water in the hallway. By the way, everything was spotlessly clean! We booked breakfast for an extra €10 per person and were thrilled. There were various fruit juices, muesli with various toppings, yogurt and fresh fruit salad. Fresh bread and delicious rolls from the neighboring bakery, cold cuts, cheese, jams, honey, freshly prepared egg dishes upon request and delicious coffee. The Kaißler family and their service staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food here is also said to be very good, unfortunately the kitchen was already closed that evening. We'll come back when we get the chance and we'll definitely eat there too!

Hotel near Stuttgart, easily accessible from the motorway. Unfortunately, the highway has been under renovation for several years now, so you can make a mistake and not take the right exit leading to the hotel.

The food is good, but if the service doesn't ensure that other guests aren't extremely inconvenienced by live stream cell phone films while eating the goose, then it's no pleasure. Never again

We ate there for the first time a few weeks ago and also stayed there last weekend. It started with the fact that we only arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen closed due to traffic jams and, despite the restaurant being packed and without a reservation, we managed to get a seat at short notice as well as food a la cart. Super friendly service. The food is also delicious and in terms of value for money. The room was spacious, clean, very comfortable bed and had a great view of the Rechberg. In terms of price, the overnight stays are a challenge in Schwäbisch Gmünd 👍. Good bus connection to Schwäbisch Gmünd. Breakfast was delicious, everything you need for breakfast. Egg dishes were not in a warmer, but were freshly prepared individually (scrambled eggs, fried eggs, etc.) When we left, the charming landlady spontaneously helped carry the suitcases down the stairs. All in all a great experience, would love to come back. Little tip: Goat red green (picture). So delicious 🤤.

There were 7 of us eating goose. No crispy skin. Taste ok. Very crowded, loud and almost mass processing. Dessert - greetings from Bofrost or Tila. Don't understand the hype.

We were there for the goose dinner. The goose and bread dumplings were excellent; especially the meat! The sauce can be expanded.

Was there yesterday, Thursday evening, with my mother. Just like that without registering in advance, it almost went wrong 😏. The place was completely full, but luckily we managed to get a seat. Service was super nice and friendly despite the full house, food came quickly and was very tasty. Priced absolutely appropriate for the quality and quantity. The menu is a bit unusual, you won't find a sausage salad or something similar. Since the restaurant was very full, the noise level was also very loud. So you had to adapt to that in order to be able to have a conversation. But it was probably also due to the average age of those present. Still definitely worth a visit. By the way, goose is currently available, but only by pre-order.

Like every year, I ate an excellently prepared crispy goose with various dumplings, good sauce and red cabbage - simply the best goose around

High quality restaurant with great service and delicious food. The waitresses are always friendly and accommodating. There are cards for children to color in and a small corner with books and toys - a little dream ;) the children's chairs have seatbelt options We have been there several times and have always been completely satisfied (including our daughter's baptism). Last time we went to the annual goose dinner and were, as always, very satisfied :)

A good hotel. Clean, simple rooms. Very nice staff. Plenty of free parking spaces. Good food at fair prices. WiFi and TV in the rooms. Price-performance ratio is right. We would love to come back here when the opportunity arises.

It would be nice to update the hotel. The beds creaked and the water in the shower flowed through the hose. The automatically opening front door jammed upon entry. Since we checked in in the evening, there were no staff at the hotel, and there was no one to turn to because of the problem.

Home-style meets modern cuisine. If you want roast pork, you'll probably get one of the best in the region here. You can still bring plant-eating friends with you, as there are also vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, which is not too large but still varied. In summer you can relax outside with excellent but affordable wines; in bad weather there is also enough space inside. Attentive but calm service completes the overall picture. We come regularly now.

We spent a lovely evening with good Swabian food and a night in a very clean and quiet room. Family atmosphere, very friendly and good breakfast! It's nice that the crown still exists!

Recommended restaurant for classic Swabian cuisine. Unfortunately, it's becoming increasingly rare. It's been a long time since I've eaten at the Krone. Now I will go back more often. My thanks to Mr. Kaißer and his team. All in all it was a very positive experience at the Krone. Keep it up. Friendly, attentive staff in a rustic Swabian atmosphere, paired with very tasty food. Starting with classic flatbread soup as a starter, through the main course to the wine served, everything was great. The Cordon bleu is definitely recommended for lovers. Everything tasted very good, was seasoned properly and was obviously home-cooked and freshly prepared. Just like you would want in a good restaurant. Good and sufficient selection of drinks and, above all, traditional dishes. All of this at fair and reasonable prices. There is a changing daily/weekly menu and seasonal offers. I absolutely recommend it.

Was Qualität und Service angeht, können sich viele Gastronomen in Schwäbisch Gmünd eine Scheibe in der Krone abschneiden. Wir sind in vollem Umfang zufrieden und werden dort definitiv wieder einkehren.

Übernachtet haben wir noch nie, wir wohnen in der Nähe... Wir waren mal wieder zum Essen dort, 3x Gans, 1x Schnitzel, Portionen mehr als reichlich, Qualität, Geschmack, Service, alles Tip Top!!! Gans und Beilagen wie Blaukraut, Hefeknöpfle, Semmelknödel und Kartoffelknödel wurden reichlich nachgelegt. Servicechef Gregor hat den Überblick und alles im Griff.. alle supernett!!! Wir waren 3 Personen zum Gans essen. Personal sehr nett, Lokal sauber und mit Charme. Alle 3 hatten einen Sonderwunsch, andere Beilagen. Hat erstklassig funktioniert. Zur Gans und den Beilagen, sehr leckere Gans, Soße super lecker, auch die Beilagen sehr gut. Hefeknödel mit geschmelzten Brotbrösel, erstklassig. Die Portion, und der Nachschlag, welcher ohne Nachfrage serviert wird, macht jeden satt. Absolute Empfehlung für Gans und deutsche Küche!

Salat war nicht frisch und sehr klein für eine Salatplatte. Beilagen waren für max. 2 Personen ausgelegt und nicht für 3. Keine Bedienung um nochmals welche zu bestellen. Rostbraten war durch obwohl Medium bestellt. Cordon Bleu waren in Ordnung. Insgesamt waren wir enttäuscht.

Beim Zürcher Geschnetzeltes gab es mehr Pilze als Fleisch...

Waren nach längerer Zeit zum Mittagessen wieder hier. Der Service und die Qualität der Speisen haben gepasst, jedoch nicht die sehr überschaubaren Portionsgrössen beim Kalbsrahmbraten und Cordon Bleu. Das Fleisch beim letzteren war sehr dünn ausgeklopft, der dazwischenliegende Schinken hatte in etwa die Stärke von den beiden aussenliegenden Kalbfleischstücken. Schade eigentlich da wir normale und keine Kinderportionen bestellt hatten. Beim Kalbsrahmbraten war die Portion ebenfalls sehr klein. Erhebliches Steigerungspotential vorhanden

Für meine Zwischenstopp inkl. Übernachtung war das Hotel Krone perfekt. Das Zimmer war tiptop. Es gab nichts zu bestanden. Ebenso war der Service vom Check-in bis zum Check-out und darüber hinaus stets einwandfrei, insbesondere, als mich das Hotel anrief, dass ich bei Ihnen die Übernachtung bezahlt sowie bereits bei einer Buchungsplattform und sich das Hotel schnellstmöglich darum kümmert, dass mir die doppelte Bezahlung erstattet wird. Vielen Dank für so viel Kundenorientierung!
