Waited over an hour for food on a Sunday lunchtime. Our little child received your spaetzle last. The long waiting time could have been communicated in advance since you have to order everything online. Portions were very small for the Kässpätzle. Almost no melted onions on it. The waitress was very friendly when asked, but the food didn't come any quicker. Very unfortunate. In the future, the waiting time for families with children should be made clear!

The Burgschenke offers a wonderful ambience with a wonderful view. The food was consistently delicious. • Very nice employees • However, I was a bit disappointed with the Maultaschen soup - there were only three thin slices of Maultaschen in the soup. I would have liked a more generous portion here.

New tenant. Even better experience. The Burgschänke Hohenrechberg is a real insider tip! The rustic ambience in the middle of the historic castle ruins creates a very special atmosphere. The view is breathtaking – perfect for a little break from everyday life. The food was excellent: fresh, regional and prepared with a lot of love. The service was also super friendly and attentive - you really feel welcome here as a guest. An ideal place for a cozy break with the entire family. We will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the Burgschänke! 😊🍽️

Hello, since January 1st. is a new tenant in the Burgschenke and unfortunately the quality has decreased, the prices have increased and the portions are small. We had schnitzel, small portion and large, so you get a mini schnitzel and a bit of fries/spaetzle as a small portion or 2 small schnitzels as a normal portion. But together they're not even one and it costs €18.90 for the small portion and €20.90 for the normal portion. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it. The old tenant was a lot better.

January 12, 2025 is open Super nice staff. Delicious food The chef absolutely recommends. Price performance top. The view is always worth a trip.

Such a beautiful experience: We went to Hohenrechberg Castle with our children and a family friend and then to the Burgschenke. The landlord was so incredibly nice, child-friendly and fulfilled (almost) every wish of ours. The food was very tasty, almost everything was homemade. And for dessert the apple and cream cake was the absolute highlight. Thank you for the lovely lunch.

Went there with friends for lunch today. It was super tasty, the service was totally accommodating and the kids absolutely loved it! The homemade cake is also absolutely delicious!

We came here spontaneously after visiting the ruins and were warmly welcomed. The food came quickly and seemed very fresh. We once had the deer ragout and once the Ritterpfännle (pork medallions with grilled vegetables and spaetzle). The salads arrived very quickly and the main course didn't take long to arrive either. The food was very good and completely worth the price. We subsequently received information that the Burgschenke had a change of ownership at the end of the year and would therefore not close completely, as it appears on the website, but would continue to exist with the same chef and waitresses.

Burgschenke can only be reached on foot. But if you park at the school, the path is steep but relatively short (20 minutes). The landlord offered a dish that was simple and good (schnitzel with fries). He was very friendly.

The beer garden is a good place to sit, even with children, and you are surrounded by the castle atmosphere. The vegetarian Maultaschen are very tasty and plentiful, and we both enjoyed the versions with grilled vegetables or salad very much.

Were there yesterday afternoon in beautiful weather. Had a breaded schnitzel with fries and a potato salad. The portion is sufficient. However, the 2 "small" schnitzels I had were so thin that you could see through them. A schnitzel should be crispy. These were miles away from that. Totally floppy and one side wasn't cooked well. Very light and soft. But the potato salad. In my opinion a catastrophe. Why is it ice cold? It didn't taste like anything. Purchased? And the prices up here. Picked up. Is it because of the altitude? Sorry, but the prices are absolutely not justified. I don't know whether I will eat here again. Didn't convince me.

Unfortunately we can't recommend it at all. We had to wait a long time to order and unfortunately the sausage menu was only lukewarm and the potato salad was, in my opinion, of poor quality. The ambience itself is very nice. The service was also very friendly.

Visitation on Saturday, April 27, 2024 around 4:00 p.m. - 5:20 p.m The restaurant "Burgschänke" is located directly next to the Hohenrechberg castle ruins and can be accessed independently of the castle - however, the restaurant is only open on Saturday/Sunday weekends and on public holidays, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays , and until 6:30 p.m. on Sundays and public holidays. The Burgschänke is a rustic restaurant and, in addition to the wonderful view over the Fils and Remstal, offers traditional Swabian delicacies - prepared with fresh, regional products. There is an indoor area and a beer garden on the outdoor terrace. During our visit, we first asked whether we could sit inside, with a beautiful view over the region - unfortunately this was pre-booked due to the company being closed on the same day and therefore not accessible, so we then sat outside. Due to the bright sun that day, we asked whether the parasol could be opened, which the staff wanted to make possible, but the parasol didn't cooperate because it was defective and the boss kindly asked us to do so. whether we can implement ourselves accordingly, which we followed and also had a nice view at the second table. An order: > Bluna Spezi 0.4l for €4.20 > Heferadler Russ 0.5 l for €4.90 > Barbarossa soup, (carrot - coconut - ginger) presented in a preserving jar for €6.90 > small mixed salad for €6.70 > Burg-Schnitzel (breaded pork loin schnitzel with fries) for €19.90 > Swabian cheese spaetzle, homemade with real Allgäu mountain cheese (vegetarian), served in a cast iron pan for €13.90 > Tiramisu in a mason jar >> unfortunately not available on this day > Espresso for €2.60 > double espresso for €3.90 Summary: The service and the employees on site were a bit cautious and hesitant in serving us at the beginning or until the first order was taken, which meant that 15 minutes already passed after we didn't order drinks straight away, but first wanted to take a look at the menu . We also visited the on-site toilet - this is on the 1st floor of the restaurant. Unfortunately we weren't that happy with the toilet because: a) it was unclean underneath the glasses and b) the toilet brush and container should either be cleaned or, even better, replaced. Unfortunately, there is only cold water available in the toilet for washing your hands. The food was generally delicious, in the soup I could taste carrot and ginger, coconut not so much, in the mixed salad I generally didn't like the carrot salad at all, indefinable sour taste. The Burgschänke is priced in the normal mid-range and we therefore recommend it because the price-performance ratio is good and it has a nice ambience with the castle ruins.

We ended up here by chance and just started walking from the Aasrücken car park. Very cozy place here, really invites you to linger, incredibly nice service, we only had a drink, but the locally made elderberry spritzer is absolutely delicious and recommended. A little tip: the deck chairs in front of the bar entrance are great: comfortable, shady and very cozy. Thank you for the great experience here!

Very good day meal lamb ragout. Tasty. Buttery tender. Nice ambience. The entire tenant family Senior and Junior are absolutely great and nice hosts. We had a great, warm lunch that I can fully recommend!

We were welcomed very friendly. The staff and the boss had a friendly, warm attitude and went right up to the guests. We had two delicious pieces of cake and coffee with it. The prices were reasonable and there were delicious smells coming from the kitchen.

I come here regularly on my e-bike and I really like it. Charging options for e-bikes are available upon request (please bring chargers with you) Nice boss and friendly staff, the food is great and you also have a great view here. I give 5 stars 👍

We went to the “all you can eat schnitzel buffet” and were very impressed. The food was super tasty. The service is also top. The view alone is worth a visit. Unfortunately, the guest room was a bit too warm and humid for us at times. But we'll be back. You have to park down on the street and take a short walk. But it's worth it. However, people with walking difficulties are allowed to drive up.

The food tastes very good, however the prices are a bit high, but not too high. The service is great, the employees are very nice. There is a great view. All in all very worthwhile.

A real pearl steeped in history, the food is delicious and honest, the atmosphere is chivalrous, cozy and nostalgic, with fire and fireplace, the view is phenomenal and the castle has an incomparable charm. Absolute recommendation.

A beautiful castle tavern with great flair and a sensational view of the Swabian Alb. People like to come here, they can relax here. Although it was actually closed today, the good and hard-working castle spirit managed the operation perfectly despite some inconveniences. We hope his lord appreciates this. We'd love to come back.

Eventlokalität wenn es nicht geöffnet ist. Cooles Ambiente,tolle Leute, tolle Aussicht, lohnt immer einen Aufstieg. Es ist jeden Tag zum besichtigen geöffnet. Die Ruine ist wirklich sehr gut erhalten und einen Besuch wert. Wir haben bei einem Firmenevent alle zusammen schwäbische Spezialitäten gekocht. Ein echter Spaß. Der Aperol ist spitzenklasse ;)

Als veganer fühlte mich schon bei der telefonischen Reservierung sehr gut aufgehoben. Zwei vegane Gerichte auf der Karte sind für mich erst mal in Ordnung. Service ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend, und der Chef(?) hat immer einen lustigen Spruch parat :D Das Ambiente ist eh grandios.

Die Burgschänke ist wirklich einen Besuch wert. Da hat wirklich alles gestimmt. Super Ambiente, Super Service und super Essen 👍👍👍

Super Lage ...Aussicht ...hab nur was getrunken deshalb kann ich nichts anderes sagen

Eine mega schöne Burgruine, mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. Die Burgschänke hat super leckeres Essen, ein gutes Ambiente und sehr nettes Personal.

Ein Service ohne Vergleich. 2 Personen, wir haben Getränke und einen Salat + Stück Kuchen bestellt. Der Salat kam nach 15 Minuten, trotz dreimaligen Nachfragens kamen die Getränke nach 35 Minuten. Der Kuchen gleich danach. Beim Bezahlen sagte der Inhaber, wir hätten ja jederzeit gehen können. Habe noch 1,10 EUR Trinkgeld gegeben, das hat mich hinterher sehr geärgert, der Wirt hat sich nicht einmal entschuldigt. Servicewüste Deutschland. Oder ein bekiffter Wirt, der "satt" ist.

Ein richtig tolles Restaurant mit einem herrlichen Ausblick. Anlässlich unserer standesamtlichen Trauung im Inneren der Burg haben wir vor Ort gegessen. Der Tisch wurde liebevoll hergerichtet. Der Blick in die Speisekarte hat mich sehr positiv überrascht, da viele vegetarische Gerichte angeboten wurden. Von der Flädlesuppe über die vegetarischen Maultaschen bis zum Pannacotta, es hat alles großartig geschmeckt. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und sogar sehr lustig bzw. positiv schlagfertig. Danke, dass ihr den so schönen Tag perfekt abgerundet habt.
