We were able to spend a 3-night short vacation at the Hotel Höttl and it was wonderful. Starting from the greeting of us and Molly (our little Maltese) to the departure. The staff and bosses are always friendly, accommodating and make this house perfect. The furnishings and rooms are cozy, nice and clean. A wonderful spa area with pool and sun terrace to relax and feel good. A breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel is located in the heart of the small but very beautiful town and not far from the Danube. A big thank you for the warm welcome package from our Molly. The restaurant staff is great and the food is delicious! The colleagues at the hotel reception are annoyed and unfriendly. The in-house Labrador is a hit 🥰 overall, despite the very good location, a bit too expensive.

The restaurant is furnished in a bourgeois style and the service is very friendly. The food is tasty BUT... The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right here!!! The mini portions and the high prices absolutely don't go together here. Therefore it is “only” 2 stars. Personally, I definitely don't recommend this restaurant.

I am currently a guest at this hotel and unfortunately I have to comment on a few points of criticism. First of all, the sauna was still not in operation at 5:00 p.m., even though according to the description it should have been open long ago. You also had to pay extra for bathrobes - five euros each - which I find inappropriate in a hotel of this category. The signage to find the room is also very poor. It's easy to get lost here because the signposts aren't clear and you have to constantly look for the right path. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the four-course menu in the restaurant. The portions are so small that they are more like children's portions 😅. Surprisingly, the guests who are not staying at the hotel are served significantly larger portions. The older lady in the restaurant wasn't particularly friendly either. I ordered an espresso for dessert, but the dessert only came after about 30 minutes and of course the espresso was cold. However, the taste of the food was okay. Another minus point are the very narrow and narrow stairs on the roof terrace. These are definitely not suitable for older people and pose a safety risk. Overall the hotel has some good approaches but there are many areas that desperately need improvement at €220 per day. The fitness is a disaster, the equipment is all very wobbly and the running track is very loud. I haven't oiled it here in a long time 😅 As I said, at that price you could have put in some decent equipment.

Booked a junior suite for €200. Ultimately it was a normal room with a sofa bed. The air conditioning worked mediocrely or not at all, even with an outside temperature of 33 degrees that day. Breakfast is standard at best.

Very good price/performance ratio! Breakfast and dinner were exceptionally good. Rich and open to (almost) every wish. The staff is 1A, rarely experienced in terms of friendliness and professionalism in high numbers!!! We will be back!

We didn't stay here, but we ate twice and it was really good. Even the simplest dishes are prepared and presented very cleverly, and the service staff is very friendly and helpful. Centrally located, the prices are right. Gladly again! 👍

Hotel with upscale amenities and a particularly beautiful spa area. Very friendly staff, great breakfast buffet and very good restaurant. We felt completely comfortable.

The three of us stayed at the HÖTTL for a week and felt very comfortable. The location, in a prime city location, is ideal for shopping and strolling. A quiet, service-friendly hotel with very good cuisine and a feel-good atmosphere! There are 4 seating and dining areas. Directly in front of the Höttl to the market, in the restaurant, in the winter garden and on the farm. The service was always BEST at all times! The kitchen is the same in all areas, it is said to be SUPER TASTEFUL and visually a delight!!! Whether it's the veal liver in balsamic sauce with a Chianti, the tender lamb shank or the exceptionally good tartare, everything is outstanding. Even the “simple” baked potato tastes very tasty. The freshly tapped light beer, the Augustiner, is very tasty ;-) The breakfast buffet is very comprehensive, with fresh egg dishes and a large selection of drinks. Cake, fish, fruit, champagne, ... everything is there. The rooms are fully equipped. From the walk-in shower to the TV, what you need and don't need :) Pillows can be booked later. There is even a stocked minibar. I wouldn't book the 121 again because the delivery at 6 a.m. is responsible for an early and unwanted wake-up call;-) The cleaning is done daily, very well and discreetly. The apartments are otherwise well insulated against sound. There is a Skypool that is worth seeing and can always be used (unfortunately it is sometimes a bit too full) with different relaxation areas. Even terraces with a view via Deggendorf.  The fitness room is modern, worth seeing, clean and well used. Wellness, massage and hairdresser can be booked on request. Fits. We felt very comfortable. A pleasant atmosphere, characterized by EXCELLENT cuisine and friendly service. LOVELY AGAIN!-)

Great service and outstanding food. We didn't stay overnight!

We were here in summer 2023. We only used the hotel for transit as a family of 4 and didn't have high expectations. Deggendorf is probably not the most worth seeing place in Germany, but the hotel is an absolute hit. Very clean rooms, although not necessarily modern, but definitely suitable for feeling comfortable. There is good parking at the hotel and a great wellness area with sauna and pool. We happened to be there when there was live music in the restaurant, absolutely great. The food here is regional and culinary excellent. A highlight of the hotel, however, is the wonderful and hospitable service and the unsurpassable breakfast buffet. For many years, hotel holidays have been an absolute unique selling point. We would always come back to this great hotel!

The location is just in the heart of the center and the restaurant is good, but the prices are exaggerated

Very nice family-run hotel where everything really fits, and if it doesn't fit (which is extremely unlikely) the extremely committed staff will do everything they can to make it fit. We “just” ate here. Great restaurant, modern but still cozy. Super delicious food. Very attentive staff. As soon as the glass was empty, someone came and refilled it. I would eat here again at any time.

The masseur in the hotel is so great. It clears blockages and you leave there totally relaxed. Everything in the hotel is worth a second trip and more often.

Nachdem wir nach 90 Minuten immer noch nicht unsere Essen bekommen haben, habe ich freundlich nachgefragt wie lange es noch dauert. Bestellt haben wir einen Leberkasburger der leider kalt gekommen ist und eine Hähnchenbowl hier waren die Nudel verkocht und das Fleisch war trocken. Bei knapp 25 Euro erwartet man etwas anderes. Die Bedienung war unfreundlich und schnippisch. Nachden ich mich jetzt so geärgert habe schreibe ich hier meine erst Beurteilung und diese ist leider sehr negativ! Kann man wirklich nicht empfehlen!

We were passing through and stopped here for dinner! Very nice and well-kept atmosphere, great service - attentive but not intrusive and very nice! The menu is varied and suitable for every taste and budget.... AND !!!!! I HAVE NEVER EATED SUCH PERFECTLY FRIED AND SENSATIONALLY DELICIOUS CALF LIVER!!!! Finely balanced sauce with mushrooms and braised onions and a tasty mashed potatoes - you can't do it better! A really big compliment! 5 stars+ and an absolute recommendation! We will definitely come back and enjoy the hotel and the wellness area!

Since 2007, my family has been coming to eat at the Hotel Höttel every time on vacation (every year). It's a tradition in our family and ever since I was a child I've always looked forward to "Hötteln" as we call it. The food is always great. I recently had the avocado citizen and thought it was great. The service is always nice and polite, the only thing I noticed is that with 2 children under 3 they didn't ask for a high chair. Personally it doesn't bother me, I'm happy to ask. But maybe that would be a small thing that could be optimized. I find it extremely endearing that the dog always gets water. Thank you for the many wonderful memories and especially for the delicious food, dear Höttel team. Ps huge recommendation for the creme brulée. (Despite the high price, simply bomb) <3

Unfortunately the prices no longer match the quality of the food. Something has changed here, because 2 or 3 years ago you could still eat very well there. It's always ok, but not special anymore. The location itself is very nice and the staff is also friendly. Price/performance 4-

Nice hotel centrally located in the middle of the old town. The service staff in the breakfast area is extremely friendly and accommodating. The wellness area was very pleasant. Unfortunately the parking situation is not well solved. The food was also good.

Loading and unloading suitcases in front of the hotel is sometimes very tiring because the way is either parked or blocked with tables and chairs. Rooms and staff good and friendly.

Great location right in the center but the parking spaces are bad but there is an underground car park nearby. Market takes place every evening from 8 p.m. Otherwise, the Danube is nearby for a walk. Food was great but not that cheap. We had beef roulade with side dishes for lunch today and it tasted very good. Unfortunately, I didn't get any fried cauliflower. If that's on the daily menu, there must be enough of it. So I took asparagus with potatoes and hollandaise. The asparagus was not homemade because of the hollandaise. Overall, nothing for the small budget.

Our stay at the Höttl was simply fantastic. The rooms are tastefully furnished and offer a cozy atmosphere. The spa area, small but nice, with sauna and pool is absolutely first class. The pool with a view of the church was particularly impressive The breakfast buffet was rich and the dinner was a culinary highlight. The friendly staff always made us feel welcome.

Rooms are not up to date, but the hotel is run professionally. The hotel complex is a bit confusing, but all paths lead to your destination. Breakfast absolutely great, no ifs and buts. Restaurant recommended, the service there was "refreshingly" friendly and good.

First the good: very good mattress Very rich, high-quality breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired Top location on the central market square Very friendly service Disadvantages: The spa area sounds great in the hotel description, but... The sauna only has a very manageable capacity in relation to the number of rooms. There is no immediate rest area, just a bench where everyone sat squeezed next to each other like chickens on the perch. There is an area with loungers. But you first have to laboriously look for it on another floor and here too there are few loungers for the number of rooms. So nothing for wellness if you plan that. And it's a shame that you then have to pay an extra fee for the bathrobes when you can't even find a lounger. Our room was very noisy from the street, especially when it came to the beer being delivered at the crack of dawn. So it's better to ask for rooms facing the inner courtyard.

Day wellness? Oh no.... I never actually write a review, but yesterday's stay forced me to do so. We decided at very short notice on Wednesday to take advantage of the opportunity to experience the “Early Bird Package” day wellness at the Hotel Höttl. The aim was to take a short break, enjoy peace and quiet and simply get away from the stressful everyday life. We were there around 8:20 a.m. and were received normally. We should have breakfast first, then we would get more information. Especially: the breakfast and the quality of the food were really beyond reproach - simply very good! However, we then wanted to go to the SPA area and went to the reception at around 9:30 a.m. - there we found out that the pool is open, but the saunas don't open until 11 a.m. - as I said, daytime wellness, it was raining outside the whole time and it was a holiday! Slightly annoyed, we went up to the SPA area to change. We thought we were in the wrong movie - 4 lockers in the hallway in front of the hotel rooms and a small corner with a curtain to change clothes??? On the display plate of the hotel guests coming out of their rooms or going in?! No shower nearby but only in the wellness area one floor below... No hairdryer etc... At 10:45 a.m. the receptionist came and asked if she should turn on the saunas for us - it would take 20-30 minutes before they were all up to temperature?! The small, manageable area of ​​the saunas on the 2nd floor is quite new, visually very appealing and they tried to create something sensible, but that's about it for the positive. Well, the great photos on the homepage convinced us, but reality quickly caught up with us. SPA and wellness rules should be known to visitors or clearly stated by the hotel! It wasn't a textile sauna, but there were children and young people sitting on the wood in their wet bathing suits? Parents with a baby that screams and cries in the relaxation room? 2 doors to the pool and roof terrace led through the relaxation room? no ventilation in the relaxation room, so that the air was extremely musty and damp and stuffy after 2-3 hours? The showers in the sauna area were such that you were on display for the other people present... Access to this nude area was from the outside with a motion sensor - with a 1.20m wide corridor, every guest who passed by did the doors open? The loungers in the relaxation room creaked with every slight movement for those seeking peace and quiet... The crowning moment came when we discovered that a couple could get an overnight stay in the room including breakfast and wellness for €132 and the two of us were allowed to pay €156 WITHOUT an overnight stay! You can clearly say - it's your own fault - not being sufficiently informed in advance. Yes, that's probably true. But I'm looking for daytime wellness, not overnight stays. But given all the conditions described, this amount is grossly excessive and it would have been even cheaper with an overnight stay - an absolute no-go - unless you don't want day guests at all. All in all a very disappointing experience. Next time we will probably use hotels we already know that shine with their quality and customer friendliness. Dr. S.-M Thank you

When booking 3 rooms spread throughout the house, we at least managed to get 2 rooms on the same floor My sick father-in-law has something in common with the older one at the reception who is around 60 years old and why we are still going on holiday with him. It was wonderful. The food is amazing. Tastes awesome. The breakfast buffet also leaves nothing to be desired. The large dining area is also visually impressive thanks to the bright window front. If that's not enough for you, the rooftop pool and the hay sauna are the icing on the cake.

Ich hatte leider zu wenig Zeit, dass ich das Hotel wirklich genießen kann. Was mir sehr positiv aufgefallen ist, das Personal war besonders freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war schön groß, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sauber. Das Hotel hat viele Kleinigkeiten richtig gemacht, welche mir in anderen Hotels immer negativ auffallen. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist, dass man Klamotten und Schuhe auf einem Schrank ohne Boden kontakt ablegen kann. Das gibt mir immer ein besseres Gefühl hinsichtlich der Hygiene. Des Weiteren kann man sehr gut im Parkhaus parken. Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt

Wonderful days enjoyed at the Hotel Hotel, staff friendly and attentive. A breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. The various types of cheese, cold cuts, salmon, freshly squeezed orange juice, Prosecco, fruit juices, rich fresh fruit are simply great. The spa area, small but very well maintained, and over the roofs of Deggendorf you can unwind in a wonderful whirlpool, everything is very well maintained and hospitable in the Hotel Höttl.

We were there for the third time now. It just gets busier every time. There are simply far too many rooms in relation to the small, compact facilities. Swimming pool, sauna & breakfast were almost always overcrowded. Unfortunately we won't be coming anymore. The friendliness was also better. You're more likely to just be dismissed. Such a shame!

Great central location in the city center with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Our room was furnished as standard. Not renovated and on the first floor facing the pedestrian zone, so a bit noisy. The hotel was busy so the small wellness area was a bit crowded at peak times. But very nicely modernized. The Skypool is heated and a real highlight. No free loungers but it is being rebuilt and enlarged. Nice breakfast room but overcrowded so we had to sit in the next room which is a little further away. Sometimes it was refilled a little late. The O juice press is a disaster. Never worked or was empty. But these are just small things. A nice hotel.

Bayrische Küche in unterschiedlicher Atmosphäre zu genießen. Es gibt das Restaurant im hinteren Bereich, in dem sich in gediegener Atmosphäre speisen lässt, die gleichen Gerichte können aber auch in der Gaststube geordert werden. Dort herrscht bayrische Gemütlichkeit mit rustikaler Atmosphäre. Klar unsere Empfehlung, um mehr vom echten Leben mitzubekommen. Küche und Personal sind sehr schön auf unsere Belange eingegangen. Wir waren mehrmals dort und kommen gerne wieder.

Incredible breakfast, a bit winding but great wellness area, 1 Finnish sauna, 1 steam bath and a very stylish colored sauna. Relaxation area (not textile-free) with outdoor pool and massage jets. Incredibly friendly, culinary great, has everything - you have to be here. Parking is easy on the public TG right in front of the door for €6 overnight, and the market is right in front of the door, great.

Bayrische Wirtschaft, mit schönem Wintergarten. Die Bedienungen sind aufmerksam und schnell. Das Essen kommt zügig und ist preiswert. Man kann es sehr empfehlen. Mein Schweinshaxen war sehr gut und die Kruste gut zu Essen. Das Kraut sehr mild und schmackhaft. Aber die Semmelknödel waren gnaschig, die konnte ich nicht essen. Was auch komisch war, es werden die Knödel alle abgeröstet (fritiert) angeboten. Kann gut sein aber das hat mit Semmelknödel nichts zu tun. Abgeröstete Knödel bestelle ich mit zum Gericht normalerweise extra. Aber wenn sie damit der Masse gerecht werden, will ich es sicher nicht schlecht reden oder schreiben. Auf jeden Fall ist es eine schöne Gaststätte in der man sehr gut essen kann. Werde sicher wieder mal hingehen sobald ich in Niederbayern bin.

The room was spacious. The location in the city center is perfect. Pool and spa area were very comfortable. Special nutritional needs were taken into account (rolls). The spa and pool is far too small, especially since day guests were allowed to come despite the hotel being fully booked. On the second day there were massive problems at breakfast (long wait for the rolls; ordering coffee several times because it wasn't served). The parking lot was very narrow and there were very large rain puddles due to the unevenness

Centric, delicious breakfast and beautiful pool.

Wir waren gestern (Samstag Abend) mit der ganzen Familie dort beim essen und es war leider kein wow Erlebnis mehr. Allgemein sind die Preise auf der Karte explodiert! Das wäre akzeptabel, wenn alles so perfekt gewesen wäre wie die Lammhaxe und das Hirschgulasch - sehr gut und üppige Portionen. Aber der Krustenbraten für 17,30 € war mit maximal 150g Fleisch (1 hauchdünne Scheibe Schulter und eine noch kleineren Scheibe Wammerl), einem Stück Kruste obendrauf, 3 winzigen, trockenen Scheiben Brezenknödel und 2 Eßlöffel Sauce eine Frechheit. Das Backhendl war wieder eine gute Portion, aber das Fleisch komplett ungewüzt und nur die Panade war gesalzen. Den Kellner darauf angesprochen, dass der Schweinebraten eine sehr kleine Portion war, versuchte er erst die Sache wegzulachen, als ich nicht mitlachte hat er dann zaghaft gefragt ob ich einen Nachschlag möchte (immerhin). Da waren aber schon alle fertig und ich verneinte. Die Frage dann nach einem Schnaps oder einer Kugel Eis hätten mich als Kunden milder gestimmt, kam aber nicht. Am Rande bemerkt: ein Kaktus als Tischdeko hat weder etwas schönes noch etwas herzliches an sich! Wir hatten unsere Familientreffen eigentlich jetzt immer im Hause Höttl, bitte enttäuscht uns beim nächsten Mal nicht nochmal so.

Es ist das beste Hotel, in dem ich je war. An Sauberkeit, Ausstattung, Spa, Service ist absolut nichts auszusetzen. Sehr zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich und immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Klein aber sehr (!) feiner Spa- Bereich. Und man kann super Verstecken spielen (das Hotel besteht sud gefühlt 15 aneinandergebauten Häusern). Das Frühstücksbuffett ist toll, Rüherei & Co. werden frisch zubereitet. Wir kommen gern wieder!

This place is definitely worth a visit for the cozy atmosphere and good food. Service was also friendly and menus were available in English. Had the deer goulash with spaetzle and red cabbage. Presentation was stellar and I was not disappointed when I took the first bite. The pear and cranberry sauce were a nice counterpoint to the rich sauce. Usually I'm not a fan of stewed cabbage but I couldn't stop eating.

Wir waren jetzt das zweite Mal dort und nach wir vor begeistert. Haben auch schon für Ende 2024 wieder gebucht. Können es wärmstens weiter empfehlen. Essen war top!!!
