We felt very comfortable. The spa area was clean and quiet. We were able to relax very well, especially in the saunas. The food was delicious – but the portions were much too large. We couldn't finish dessert – we ate half of everything, and we wouldn't have gotten up so full. We also liked that we could mix our own welcome drink. However, this can be communicated without asking 😊 We'll definitely be back ☺️

First-class feel-good ambience, beautiful hotel.

We took advantage of the Relax Days (2 nights) half-board and were very satisfied. This is my second time here. The first time with my girlfriend for a wellness treatment, and this time with my husband for a little break from everyday life and some good food. Otherwise, it was again very nice, the service was great, and since the hotel is in the heart of the city, it was really great for us and not too noisy.

The hotel is in a truly great location and has a wonderful wellness area, if it weren't for the service in the restaurant... The allocation of table reservations at breakfast is a mystery to us. We kept hearing different explanations as to why we couldn't reserve a table for two for breakfast in the winter garden... "They couldn't separate larger groups," "external visitors had reservations"... So we walked past the reserved tables for two and were taken to the parlor, without a window, in the back area. So it was either for everyone without a reservation, or one system, the same for EVERYONE. When we criticized them, we felt like we weren't taken seriously. But nonetheless, the hotel is highly recommended... The breakfast is very good and the staff are all very friendly, except for the breakfast issue...

Very good hotel with very good food

A very nice restaurant in the heart of Deggendorf, with friendly service, reasonable prices, and a great atmosphere. The food we ordered was delicious.

The Gasthof Höttl impresses with its wonderful ambiance and excellent cuisine. The steak tartare was a particular highlight – fresh and perfectly seasoned. The main courses were also very delicious. The prices may be high, but they are absolutely justified.

Everything, absolutely everything, was perfect! A fantastic combination of modern ambience and traditional charm. We had a Business Deluxe double room… First-class! The breakfast buffet is unbeatably good, as is the food in the restaurant. A beautiful spa area with a sky pool and a view of the church tower—what more could you want? The staff are all exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive. We'll be back!

I was here for breakfast on Easter Sunday: The breakfast buffet costs €26 per person, but it was very tasty, and there are no additional costs. There are various juices, rolls, breads, spreads, etc. You can also order omelets, etc. from the waiter.

Very friendly reception. I was given a single room despite booking a comfort double room. I complained at reception and was given a double room without any problems. The breakfast selection was perfect, and I have to say a big thank you to the service staff. Always courteous and very friendly. Now that's what I call service. Thanks again for that.

Delicious food and drinks and very nice service

We celebrated our wedding at the Hotel Höttl and spent a total of three nights at this beautiful venue. From planning to execution, the experience was absolutely professional, relaxed, and unfussy. The feel-good factor was absolutely there. The cuisine deserves special mention; it's absolutely exquisite! Every wish was fulfilled, and you felt right at home. An absolute recommendation!

The three of us stayed at the HÖTTL for a week and felt very comfortable. The location, in a prime city center, is perfect for shopping and strolling. A quiet, service-friendly hotel with excellent cuisine and a feel-good atmosphere! There are four seating and dining areas: directly in front of the Höttl facing the market, in the restaurant, in the winter garden, and in the courtyard. The service was always EXCELLENT! The cuisine is consistent in all areas, meaning SUPER TASTY and a visual delight!!! Whether it's the veal liver in balsamic sauce with a Chianti, the tender lamb shank, or the exceptionally good tartare, everything is excellent. Even the "simple" baked potato is delicious. The freshly tapped light beer, the Augustiner, is very drinkable ;-) The breakfast buffet is very extensive, with fresh egg dishes and a large selection of drinks. Cakes, fish, fruit, sparkling wine,... everything is there. The rooms are fully equipped. From a walk-in shower to a TV, everything you need and don't need:) Pillows can be booked. There's even a fully stocked minibar. I wouldn't book the 121 again, as the 6 a.m. delivery service is responsible for early and unwanted wake-ups;-) Cleaning is done daily, very well and discreetly. The apartments are otherwise well soundproofed. There's a beautiful and always usable sky pool (unfortunately, it's sometimes a bit too crowded) with various relaxation areas. There are even terraces with a view over Deggendorf. The fitness room is modern, attractive, clean, and well-used. Wellness, massage, and hairdressing can be booked upon request. Perfect. We felt very comfortable. A pleasant atmosphere, characterized by EXCELLENT cuisine and friendly service. WE'D LOVE TO GO AGAIN!-) UPDATE: We stayed for 11 days in rooms 307 and 218. EVERYTHING ALL AROUND WITH A FEEL-GOOD FACTOR...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very good hotel, a bit out of the way. The breakfast is second to none. Only the dinner in the cozy beer garden didn't quite meet our expectations.

What brings down the rating is partly that the hotel is a maze to find, but fresh rooms and very good breakfast. A bit uneven service, some were nice, others not quite as much. The town, on the other hand, is not much to hang the Christmas tree on and parking was not easy.

Every meal was a feast for the senses, from the lavish breakfast buffet, which gave us the perfect start to the day, to the delicious traditional Bavarian dishes in the evening. You can practically taste the fresh, regional ingredients and the passion with which they cook. What truly sets the Gasthof Höttl apart, however, is the warm and attentive hospitality of its entire team. They were always on hand to help us with recommendations, answer our questions, and make us feel truly welcome. Their friendliness and dedication are remarkable and contributed significantly to an unforgettable stay. A wonderfully beautiful sauna and outdoor pool are also located upstairs in the hotel. A small, beautiful hotel in the heart of Deggendorf. We stayed there for three nights. The rooms, even the newer ones, are unfortunately a bit dated. The design needs an update. The restaurant is very elegantly decorated, and the food is of excellent quality and variety. We really enjoyed it. The spa is very winding and spread over several floors; the pool is unfortunately tiny. Nevertheless, they made the most of the old town setting. The terrace at the top was very relaxing. The hotel has an excellent location in Deggendorf, right in the center. Parking is available in the adjacent parking lot and there is also a small garage. The decor in all areas is very tasteful, and a visit to the hotel restaurant is worthwhile. The breakfast buffet offers a very large selection, and the evening menu is also very good. You should definitely use the restaurant in the evening. The price-performance ratio is excellent! The rooms are very nicely furnished. The bathroom and separate toilet were also modern. The only thing was the hairdryer hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and even after reporting it to reception, it was still sticking to my fingers... I don't want to deduct a star for that, because otherwise the service in all areas was more than excellent! The staff were super friendly and helpful everywhere. Dogs are very welcome here. The meadows along the Danube are ideal for running around or walking (about an 8-10 minute walk). We would definitely love to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Höttl in Deggendorf and would like to express our sincere thanks. From arrival to departure, we received courteous and warm service – you can tell that hospitality is truly lived here. A real highlight was the free late check-out, which was spontaneously offered to us so that we could still use the wellness area on our day of departure – a truly thoughtful and generous gesture. The pool on the roof of the hotel is particularly noteworthy: The water is pleasantly warm, and there are bubble loungers, a counter-current system, and massage jets, making it a mini wellness oasis. What's particularly nice: From the pool, you have a fantastic view over the whole of Deggendorf – which gives the stay a very special atmosphere. The breakfast is also very high quality. The freshly squeezed orange juice from the orange juice machine is delicious, and the separate juicer with fresh fruit and vegetables is a great addition. The buffet as a whole leaves little to be desired. In the evening, we ate in the hotel's own restaurant – the food was excellent, the dishes prepared with love, and the ambiance was very pleasant. Overall, the hotel combines modern design with classic Bavarian flair very successfully. The small but lovingly designed sauna area completes the experience. Free drinks and snacks are available there, and the atmosphere is inviting. We were also flexible in responding to individual requests: Upon request, we even received a free room upgrade with a beautiful view – a big thank you again for that. Deggendorf itself is rather quiet, like many towns in the Bavarian Forest. This was fine for us, as we were visiting family. We also combined our stay with a trip to Munich and a day at the Erding Thermal Spa – both easily accessible. A few minor points for improvement: • The air conditioning didn't cool despite being set to 16°C. Upon inquiry, we learned that the system only switches to cooling when the outside temperature reached 25°C – unfortunately, this was unpleasant in humid weather. • There are no fly screens on the balcony doors, so you can only air the room briefly in the evening without having insects in the room. • At breakfast, we requested soft-boiled eggs. On the first day, this worked without a problem, but on the second day, a server mistakenly dismissed our request as "not possible" – only the team leader was able to help. Clearer communication within the team would be helpful here. • We also noticed that external breakfast guests were given priority seating in the modern breakfast room, while hotel guests had to move to a smaller adjoining room. We found this a shame, as we, as overnight guests, would have expected priority. Our conclusion: The Hotel Höttl is a lovingly run establishment that combines comfort, style, and hospitality at a high level. Despite minor flaws, it is a clear recommendation – we would be happy to return!

The Hotel Höttl is very centrally located in the city center. The room was clean and well-maintained, as was the spa area, which invites relaxation. The friendly staff at the reception, who gave us a warm welcome, deserves special mention. The service in the restaurant and breakfast area, however, was less convincing: At dinner, we had to wait over an hour for our food, and in the morning, it also took a long time for the freshly prepared eggs and coffee to arrive. This unfortunately somewhat dampened the overall impression. Overall, a good hotel with potential if the service in the restaurant improves.

Great location. Small but very nice wellness area. Everything was very clean. I thought the food was delicious and the breakfast was great. Service was friendly.

Cons: For 4 nights, they never changed the minibar, didn't bring me water, didn't change the consumables in the bathroom, even during cleaning. Everything is pretty old. The first floor smells of fumes from night drinking in the morning. A pool is not needed at all. Breakfasts can also be cancelled and the price reduced. The price for such a hotel is 50-60€ at most, but not 100+!!! Pros: A good place for breakfasts and a hall.

Top service, attractive decor, good food

We stayed there for two nights to relax a bit. Our room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the curtains were easy to block out the light. However, you could hear every car driving past and every person talking outside the window. The bathroom was quite small compared to the room, which didn't bother me personally. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating! We felt welcome. I personally imagined the relaxation room to be larger. All the loungers were occupied, but it was very nicely decorated! We also had dinner: fried chicken with salad – I highly recommend it! Delicious, delicious, delicious! Breakfast had everything your heart could desire!

Such a comfortable hotel. A really superb breakfast. The pool on the roof is small but the water is warm and the view is splendid.

Very nice hotel, upscale, spacious (spanning three buildings). The furnishings are good, but unfortunately the windows don't open, so you have to rely on the air conditioning. Parking spaces are scarce and unfortunately can't be reserved. The parking and windows are a point deduction. The restaurant is fantastic. Viennese fried chicken. Crispy on the outside, juicy but cooked on the inside. Cucumber and potato salad. The potatoes were delicious, and the cucumbers were crisp and not mushy. A perfect combination. Accompanied by a cold beer from a mug with a tin lid. A bit pricey for Deggendorf. Addendum, years later: Wiener Schnitzel (pork) – you can't go wrong here either :-)

Naše již druhá návštěva a opět jsme byli nadšení! Milá česká obsluha, která nám pokaždé dobře poradila. Aktuální nabídka chřestu s variantami je dobře vymyšlená a sestavená pro každého. Vynikající steak a absolutní bomba je tatarák!!!! Velejemný a skvěle dochucený s domácím na sucho opečeným chlebem! Určitě při další návštěvě ochutnáme zbytek menu.

We had lunch at Gasthof Höttl - the food was plentiful and actually tasty. However, for my taste it could have been seasoned more. There is salt and pepper on the table, but somehow I found it to be rather neutral for my taste, fried chicken like potato salad. Maybe the chef could have been a little more in love 😉 Nevertheless, it was good and a really big portion and nicely presented. The atmosphere was very nice in the winter garden, the waitress was extremely friendly.

The welcome was very nice, the lady at the reception was very cheerful and smiling. :) The SPA is special with the hot water pool on the roof. The hotel is huge, we had a very delicious dinner in the restaurant there. The breakfast was the most wonderful I have ever had in a hotel.

Excellent price-performance ratio, the Michael Höttl Suite is super nice, the wellness area is great for a city hotel and the food in the 4-course menu is super delicious! And the breakfast is also great, a wonderful selection of cheese, lots of sausage and also vegan options, what more could you want? Really great - thank you very much :-)

We were just visiting the restaurant. But we were there for the first and last time.

We didn't like the value for money: the rooms weren't cleaned properly (e.g. hair in the sink), Wi-Fi usually didn't work, service staff made assurances but were overwhelmed and therefore couldn't implement them. You can simply forget about the sauna area - it is very indiscreetly designed. The loungers are unhygienic (a blanket for all the changing (sometimes naked) users of a lounger) and totally worn out. Groups of men who drink are also welcome to settle down in the relaxation rooms or in the mini pool. Overall very, very unpleasant. A loud carnival event (drinking) in the room next to the reception wasn't really helpful for peace and relaxation. Conclusion: The hotel, without a wellness area, is ok - but then too expensive (5 nights each about 275 for two). Restaurant is very good - and is also popular with day guests and walk-in customers. The service staff is sometimes outstanding, sometimes a disaster. We wanted a few days of peace and relaxation in a nice, quiet wellness hotel. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed. In autumn we prefer to go to the Baltic Sea again.

Perfect for relaxing, very good food, super nice service staff and a great wellness area. The only problem is the parking lot, as it cannot be reserved and is often occupied. Parking is possible in the cheap parking garage for €4/24 hours, about a 10-minute walk away.

Great experience – with a small downer: The reception at the reception was extremely friendly and personable. We were able to store our bikes safely, dryly and generously - perfect. The room was an absolute dream: spacious, tastefully decorated and overlooking the lively forecourt. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired – exceptionally good! The pool is a real highlight and an unexpected feature in the middle of the city. We would love to come back! Next time, however, we would ask for a room away from the forecourt: in the evenings, young people with mopeds ("motorcycles") gathered there, turned the throttle and repeatedly drove up and down the street - in our case, unfortunately, until shortly after 11 p.m. This may have been an exception before the holiday, but up until then, restful sleep was out of the question.

It is very nice here, the wellness area is divided into two parts, sauna on the 2nd level, pool and relaxation room on the 3rd floor. But it doesn't bother. In the wellness area luxurious with water, tea, syrups, nuts, apple... on the loungers, the relaxation area, pillows and blankets on loungers with adjustable headrests... wonderful

Very central location. Parking lot behind the house, we were always lucky and were able to park there. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The food was a pleasure 👍 Rooms nice and clean. It was only loud after 6:30 because our room was above the delivery entrance. Nevertheless, we had a very nice stay and can recommend the house.

Today was another nice day at the höttel because I was lucky enough to have a great waiter again. He always checked to see if I needed something to drink or tried very hard. Was friendly and quick. I was treated very well here with my companion. “Hedi” served me.

I was there for dinner with friends some time ago. The ambience was very nice, the food was very good, but the price/performance ratio should be revised again. One point was very annoying, the service staff run all over the place... run... don't run... you can really feel sorry for them... but they still remain friendly and serve perfectly. An employee had to work with a bandage on her hand and even had to pour drinks. Firstly, it is unhygienic and secondly, it is unreasonable for the employee. It is a shame that such conditions prevail in such a house.

We received a voucher for day wellness from a lovely person for Christmas as a little break. We were really happy, but unfortunately we were ultimately disappointed. As I said, we had a voucher, so when we arrived we were asked whether we had parked in the hotel car park, yes we had, and then we were charged parking fees. I was so speechless, we've never had that before at a day spa, it's unbelievable that you have to pay parking fees for the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the three ladies were super friendly and nice. The day wellness, well we had something nicer. Sky Pool over Deggendorf's roofs, that's what it's advertised as, after all, you only see roofs that have been attacked by pigeons and not a view over Deggendorf. We were very disappointed because you always see great pictures of this sky pool, but we now noticed that they were only taken at night. What is also a very big negative point is that as a day wellness guest you have to change in the corridor in the hotel area, which means you stand naked in the corridor and behind you the hotel guest goes from the room to breakfast. Relaxation area and saunas are very, very small, there are a lot of hotel guests so it gets damn tight. Also no lunch and afternoon catering as you would expect from day wellness. There was a coffee and a piece of cake, according to the voucher. I ordered a cappuccino, so I had to pay extra because according to the voucher you only get one cup of coffee! It's a shame, we expected more.

I have to give 0/5 stars because apparently the competent staff are treated like dirt. I liked going for breakfast on the weekend and was very pleased with the great service, but now everything there is too expensive.

I've been traveling to the Hotel Höttl for business for over a year and can only say positive things. The service is always excellent – ​​the staff is always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is simply fantastic, with a wide selection of fresh and delicious dishes. The hotel rooms are luxuriously furnished. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is exemplary. The wellness area and the sky pool offer a wonderful way to relax after a long day at work. The hotel's location is also very good – right in the center of Deggendorf and close to the Danube. This makes it easy to explore the surrounding area. I highly recommend the Hotel Höttl!

Absolutely amazing hotel! Yes, it's a little more difficult to navigate the corridors and to park, but otherwise great! Service, rooms, breakfast, gym, swimming pool, sauna world…. All at least 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visually, the restaurant deserves 5 stars, and the service was also decent. First of all, the dishes were very good. Price/performance, however, leaves a lot to be desired... Charging €22 for a pasta dish consisting of three filled pastas and four tomatoes is extortionate. The vegetarian/vegan dishes could still be improved. The obligatory cheese spaetzle or baked potato are unimaginative and don't fit the intended ambiance.

Our stay was nice, but mixed. The room was new, but unfortunately very noisy. Unfortunately the view was of an unkempt side street. From about half past seven in the morning the calm was over. Unfortunately, the spa area was quite crowded during the day and there was hardly any peace in the relaxation rooms (but that was due to disrespectful guests who were playing cards). What bothered us the most was the situation at breakfast. There was such a rush on Saturdays and Sundays that internal hotel guests had to wait until tables were free again. This is probably because external devices also come for breakfast. Normally, the hotel should ensure that hotel guests first get a fixed table and only then should other reservations be accepted. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with vacation when you're already queuing up for a table in the morning. The pool was pleasant but there wasn't a nice view here either. But the food was very tasty. We probably won't come back here again because unfortunately we didn't go home really refreshed.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed! We were there on the weekend and can definitely say it's not worth the money. The trouble started in the room: the hairdryer was sticky and unhygienic (picture attached), and there was a pair of underwear from the previous guests in the closet by the safe - I'd rather spare you that picture. We reported both to reception immediately, but there was no great effort to resolve the issue quickly - the underwear is probably still there. When we asked about the hairdryer, we were provided with a replacement hairdryer, but the permanently installed hairdryer in the bathroom was not replaced the next day, contrary to the reception's promise, so that the next guests will also find it in this condition. The spa area didn't convince us either. On the first day we couldn't find a free lounger and had to leave our things in a corner. Many loungers were reserved for hours but not used. The pool heated up in the morning, but not again during the day. From 2 p.m. onwards the water was only lukewarm, and in the evening it was actually rather cold - no trace of the promised 34 degrees. You also heard from the other hotel guests when they entered the pool that it was cold. The only positive thing was the food, which was really excellent. A small point of criticism, however, is that we sometimes had to wait over 15 minutes for the drinks and were therefore almost finished eating. However, overall the rest of the stay was disappointing. We were looking forward to the weekend, but we ended up upset. Unfortunately, in our opinion, not recommended.

Is a very good guesthouse. (I can't judge the hotel) All the food is of very high quality and is really pleasing to the eye. I could (or wanted) only assess the taste of the vegan alternatives. A vegan alternative was immediately put together by the extremely friendly service. She took my shoes off. In my vegan life I have never eaten such delicious hummus with vegetables as I did there. Definitely one of the first addresses for good food for non-vegans, but vegans are also in good hands here.

The hotel is great. Although our room faced the main street, it was very quiet. The breakfast buffet is absolutely top class and, in our experience, even better than that of the Steigenberger chain. We didn't use the spa area during our one night stay, but we'll definitely come back to use the spa area.

With so many people, hygiene is also a bit difficult. -On the subject of dogs: I think it's great that they're allowed. But a dog has no place on the corner seat at a 6-course dinner. Not even in the wellness area. (also depends on the dog owner himself, but you have to check that) -I really enjoy coming to the hotel and can only recommend it to everyone :)

Very nice staff. Beautiful wellness and spa area with sauna. The outdoor pool is also great 👍🏼 Only the water could be about 2-3 degrees warmer in the evening. In addition, the wellness and spa area including the pool is very busy on weekends and you have to have good timing so as not to sit in the overcrowded pool or wait forever in the sauna waiting area to be able to use it.

Located in the middle of the city and yet quiet. Perfect service, small but good spa area. We started the day with the excellent breakfast.

It was a perfect evening on New Year's Eve. The 7-course menu was excellent and the service was very good. The ambience is also very nice. Can only be recommended.

The hotel is great. We booked the cheapest room but it was perfect for us. The wellness area is great and everything is very clean. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast and 4 course menu in the evening made the stay perfect. The price-performance ratio is right. The massage was also a dream.

The turn of the year at the Hotel Höttl was an incredible experience. New Year's Eve flew by and was not only accompanied by an excellent gala menu and a very good wine recommendation. Overall, the 8 courses were very well coordinated and tasted. All the food came to our table almost at the same time thanks to the very good organization of the kitchen and the waitresses. Who were also very attentive during the evening. A small band also played music until 2:30 a.m. Overall, a very successful end to the year with an excellent price-performance ratio.

Perfect, very friendly service and very good food. Unfortunately it was a funeral with around 40 people eating.

The hotel made a really nice impression, I can't rate the room because we were there for the night spa! There were a few points that I would like to draw attention to because we found this disturbing! At the beginning we were given a locker where you have to struggle to put your things, remember it's winter, thick jacket... In the sauna area it was an absolute disaster for us, 6 hooks for bathrobes to hang up, so no space at all, remember almost everyone has the same bathrobe, so there's no point just hanging it over it, unless of course you don't have a problem with it and then just hang the bathrobe of another guest. The sauna area has everything in one, the Finnish sauna, with space for a maximum of 6 people, so you can't lie down inside! Infrared cabin for 2, steam bath for 6 people, 2 showers, 1 toilet. In the anteroom there is a small relaxation area with seating for about 6 people, in the middle there was the “water fountain” and the opportunity to make tea! There was quite a crowd, there was no talk of peace or relaxation here, you went out of the sauna and had to be careful not to slam the door into someone else's back! Fresh glasses were always out, but were always refilled, but the rubbish was not disposed of, the small bin with the tea bags was already full when we arrived! No idea what the description of superfood for body and mind was supposed to be, only hazel and peanuts were offered here, which were also not refilled! It was also very unhygienic that towels and swimming trunks were constantly being left at the counter where you could prepare tea, but that was because there was simply no space! The hay flower sauna, which is stated as 55 degrees, was only 35 degrees and in the second course it was only 30. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity for us to test the relaxation rooms with the relaxation loungers, with a total of around 20 loungers there was no space left! All in all, a nice hotel, nice areas, ideal for hotel guests who also have a room there, but in my opinion not suitable for day guests! If you had asked us when we checked out whether we had a nice evening, I would have told the lady everything, but here we just cashed in and goodbye! Too bad,

We can't really say anything negative, we were there over New Year's Eve. If you think you're expecting a New Year's Eve party, you should book somewhere else. For us, the menu, which ran from 7 p.m. to 11.20 p.m., was very good. Dancing mice have no place there. Rather boring musicians and a dance floor in the reception. New Year's Eve menu was outstanding!! Unfortunately, the lack of staff is also noticeable here. The dinner was only lukewarm as it was only served about 15 minutes later by the waiters after the bell rang as they were overwhelmed at peak times. We had a table right at the counter and watched everything... what a shame...
