Hotel ConventGarten in Rendsburg

We were here over the Whitsun weekend. The weather left a lot to be desired. But breakfast, dinner, and service were excellent. In the morning, there was delicious homemade bread, and the homemade Bircher muesli was delicious. The view from the window of the Kiel Canal was fantastic. We even saw a cruise ship pass by.

These are really nice rooms. Choose one with a view. There are good options. But it takes a very long time to get food and drinks. Both in the restaurant and in the bar. The staff is very busy at breakfast which means the food was not replenished. The breakfast was good but there was not much to choose from and there is very little space around the buffet. Remember if you want your room cleaned you must hang a sign on the door

Our staff meeting was held there. Unfortunately, for the second time, it was noticed that there were communication problems or simply a lack of staff. The buffet was served late, and there were often waits for dishes.

A traditional hotel with a beautiful canal location. Our room, facing the canal, was lovely but unfortunately very noisy at night because young people were partying on the nearby park benches. There was no kettle or coffee machine in the room. The breakfast room was simple, as was the breakfast itself. The food was the same every day, with hard rolls. The bread selection was limited to ciabatta, with a few slices of toast and packaged wholemeal bread under a see-through bread basket. As a long-time Rendsburg resident who lives abroad in Europe, I enjoyed the sense of history the hotel conveys, but nothing more.

Small but very well functioning room with a angled canal view. Nice breakfast with very professionel staff. Restaurant is ok and has a direct view of the canal. Food is good but could be a lot better with a little bit of effort (wiener schnitzel very chewy and not pounded as it should be)

Junior Suite. Espresso/coffee machine. There are no espresso cups. Turned on the machine. Put in the espresso capsule. Filled the water. Grabbed the coffee cup. Pressed the button. Voilà, a cold espresso is brewed. No matter which button: cold water. Called reception. We're sorry. The same machine is at reception. Could you try it there... What can I say? Nothing. So I'm writing.

Recommended for anyone who wants to spend a little time out on the NOK,l with a great restaurant.

No.. Rolls were rock hard and you could smash slices into them.... Embarrassing for this hotel...The breakfast was disappointing

Nice employees, clean and nicely furnished large rooms. Whenever I have work to do in the area again, I like to come here.

Hotel top, Room service non-existent Breakfast staff hopelessly overwhelmed, Worldwide special feature: (I only found out when I asked after my room wasn't tidy: "With us you have to hang up the green sign, otherwise no one will come for room service - that's what you were told when you checked in" Hmm: No, you didn't, you only notice in the evening that the room hasn't been tidied and the towels on the floor haven't been changed, but are still there... Not okay, especially if you are then told off on the phone that you finally got an upgrade! (but no one mentioned this at check-in???) It's always these ungrateful guests who still want their room cleaned, right?

We spent two wonderful days at the Hotel ConventGarten before Christmas. We were very satisfied with the “Two days of wanderlust” offer in the deluxe double room. The rooms are bright and cozy, and the restaurant in the winter garden is very tastefully decorated. The employees were consistently very friendly and attentive. A large parking lot is available free of charge for cars. We found that very pleasant. The hotel is also barrier-free. The location of the hotel directly on the Kiel Canal is simply fantastic. Large and small ships pass by the house again and again, so wanderlust is guaranteed. Tips: In front of the hotel is the pedestrian tunnel through the canal with its gigantic escalator. And not far away, the transporter bridge at the Rendsburg High Bridge invites you to take a very special trip (also possible by car!). The Paradeplatz and the city of Rendsburg can easily be reached on foot.

The hotel is okay. The food in the restaurant is very good. The service in the restaurant, however, is a bitter disappointment. You have to try to enjoy the good food without drinks. It should work better in this category. Best regards, Frank Mirkwood

Easily accessible hotel with nice service and clean, well-kept rooms. The only thing I would have welcomed was a hotel bar. Impressive when ships as tall as houses pass by the window 😊

My partner and I have booked ourselves into the Convent Garden, Rendsburg. A room with a wonderful canal view, we can hear and see the ships passing by from our bed. It is a four star deluxe room, very well maintained, great facilities. We feel right at home here. The breakfast and dinner (half board) are exceptional, the service is first class! We'll definitely be back!

We booked Wein Fein. Check in super friendly, room clean and cozy with a view of the NOK. The food was great! The service so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and rich. The service there was great too. Thank you very much, we felt very comfortable.

Really nice place.😊Was very excited after reading all the bad reviews. We have been very very satisfied.👍 Beautiful room with mini bar, which we had to use free of charge if we said no to cleaning. It was even filled up.👍 Dinner was buffet both evenings. Maybe a little tough to fill up, but it was filled up. Breakfast was also super delicious. We could make a small shopkeeper's house with "snolders". We have not experienced that before. Everyone has been nice and helpful smiling. Had bikes with me. Cycled on both sides of the canal. Was with the glider over, and through the tunnel home. Cycled 35 km. down there. Rendsburg town was a disappointment.

Very solid. Only 1 waitress who had her hands full. Help came later. Unfortunately the food only deserves three stars. The meat was very tough, especially the beef, fried potatoes were good and the mushrooms were very good. The dessert was very tasty. Everything is very expensive. I definitely expect more for that.

I only visited the restaurant - very nice helpful staff - I will recommend it

A very successful stay in a beautiful hotel.

I've already been there twice for a conference, but I didn't stay overnight. Unfortunately, the construction was so late that we started too late because the hall wasn't ready earlier. Unfortunately the same thing at lunch, only much worse. Both times I was there for the conference there was a huge queue, so the lunch break was almost over when it was my turn. Plus, the items ended up being sold out and wouldn't be restocked. The food could have been of higher quality. This is probably the case, especially at conferences, and is better in normal operations. What was great was the view and the cleanliness of the toilets, just great. The meeting rooms were also very well equipped.

WiFi was not available in our room (406), had to go out in the corridor to get a signal. Possible this is a end of corridor problem on all floors. Very good breakfast and very good room.

Unfortunately, our stay at the hotel was very disappointing. The WiFi was extremely poor and virtually unusable, which was a big problem for us. We also had to wait what felt like an hour every time we ordered something to drink. In addition, on the last evening of our club meeting we were given the same pasta with sauce that we had already had for lunch, which is not very nice in my opinion. When we checked in we had to pay with the card straight away because supposedly there would be too many people at reception when we left, which was a bit nonsense. The positive thing was the accessibility in the rooms and toilets.

Hotel with a curious location, next to the canal (passage of large ships, totally spectacular image). Good rooms and good service.

We were there on Mother's Day and were unfortunately very disappointed that we had to wait almost 2 hours for the food, the asparagus was still extremely firm to the bite, so unfortunately a disappointment

Nice hotel with conference rooms. The service is very good. The staff is very attentive, helpful, professional. Everything very clean. The cake and snacks were good, fresh and tasty. The location on the Kiel Canal is very nice. You can see the ships very well, very close and there is a lot of movement on the canal. The prices are still ok. All in all we can recommend the house.

The hotel is getting old, unfortunately so are the rooms. There is supposed to be a part that has already been renovated, but I didn't get to see it. The room's furnishings were sufficient but no longer nice. The smell of sewage in the bathroom wasn't great either. It is advertised as a bike hotel. I wanted to borrow one, but in the jumble of wheels I could only find one that was halfway inflated. The common areas have already been modernized and look nice. The breakfast is good. If you ask, you can also get an omelette. The service was good and the employees were friendly and helpful.

Nice location, right on the canal

Tastefully furnished hotel directly on the North East Sea Canal. Good organization in times of Corona. Unfortunately, on another visit the room was not cleaned well, hence 1 star deducted.

Super-friendly employees throughout, especially the colleague at breakfast on February 7th, 2024. Top! The breakfast was very good! This is how the day can start. Not used, but a great idea: the candy bar! Rooms are a bit old, but well maintained and clean. Sufficient parking spaces available.

I went to Covent Garden for Christmas dinner with my wife. Had to order and pay for one of the 4 menus offered in advance. I ordered goose leg. This was so hard that it could hardly be cut with a knife. There was a uniform starter soup (lukewarm) and a dessert. The goose leg was served with potato puree and two small broccoli florets. I found the portions to be so small that I thought I had a children's plate in front of me. For the menu price of €49.90, I would have expected much more in terms of both the portion size and the quality. We were very disappointed.

The ox cheeks were excellent. Unfortunately, the beet puree was bland and the "fried potatoes" were soggy. We weren't the only guests who helped themselves to salt and pepper.

Unprofessional reception by untrained trainees. Not a warm welcome. Just a note that since no credit card was provided when booking, the stay must be paid for in advance. At that point we hadn't even seen the room. Breakfast little choice. Hardly any staff to be seen. Sauna must be registered in advance and costs extra. All in all too expensive for the hotel category.

I would always come back, it was very nice. Nice service, great breakfast & very clean rooms. Everything was perfect. Thank you and see you soon 🙂
