A really good Chinese restaurant. The price/performance ratio at the buffets including the drinks is unbeatable.

The prices are on the higher side, which is understandable given the range on offer - but: There are comparable or even better Asian restaurants in Ulm that have a more convincing taste and are also cheaper. The service was friendly, the atmosphere simple but clean and functional. Conclusion: If you just want to eat a lot and don't care too much about taste or value for money, you'll find what you're looking for here. For me personally it was okay - but there are alternatives that cook better and cost less.

In my opinion, you pay too much for what you get, but the clearing staff are very accommodating and quickly clear the empty plates that are on the table. The only thing I like now is that you no longer have to pay extra for drinks like you did back then and that you can refill them “infinitely” often at the machine with 3-6 different options, depending on how many are defective. All in all: mediocre, fried to death food and overpriced buffet prices per person.

The sushi can at least be compared to the premium versions from Lidl, Rewe, etc. There are also vegan alternatives such as nigiri with avocado. In addition, many employees cannot speak German well and are sometimes not particularly friendly or courteous. Overall, I really love this restaurant and can only recommend it!

My table nachnar had given beef to roast, which was served like the sole of a shoe. Everything was burnt and no longer edible. Pasta was fried until crispy. Can happen if the cook stands at the grill with his arms crossed. There is plenty of choice at the buffet. But even there, many dishes are served in such thin sauces that it's not much fun to eat. The ice cream in the freezer is just soft and has nothing to do with ice cream. The service staff was rather neutral. Neither friendly nor unfriendly. After we noticed when paying that our food was completely fried, we simply shrugged our shoulders. We won't go there anymore. For just under 100 euros for 2 adults and 2 children 10/4 we can easily go out to eat somewhere else.

I was there 3 years ago and the food was much better. It was the last time for us to eat there. I won't get a stomach ache elsewhere for that money. The only highlight in all of this is the all you can drink offer. So if you're really thirsty you can try it out, because there's very little you can do wrong. Little can be said about the service. Plates were cleared quickly, but what was ordered was only brought out after 30 minutes to 45 minutes, usually already cold. The ambience isn't great either, lots of places, but no real atmosphere. The hygiene of the place is also very important to consider. As it is now, we strongly advise against visiting this restaurant.

Non-alcoholic in bottles and on tap, beer, coffee, cappuccino... self-service. There's wine at the bar. In one corner or another you could pay more attention to cleanliness. The clips that come onto the plate are not really clean - they should perhaps be washed once after every table change! Tables, plates and cutlery were sometimes not properly clean. All in all, the best all-you-can-eat restaurant in the region.

What a juice shop! I would love to give a 0 star rating but that's not possible. The food to fry arrives 1 out of 3 times, when it arrives it is black on one side and raw on the other??!! The “ambience” does not exist, everything is geared towards the maximum capacity of the guests and the quickest possible visit. The food at the buffet feels thrown at you and treated in an incredibly unappetizing and careless manner. When I arrived at the table, I was greeted by a carved swastika, but no one here cares about that. The cutlery is rarely really clean. There was a metal part in my ice cream (see picture) and when I mentioned it, the employee simply wanted the metal part (I had to pick it out for him) and said I should get a new ball!!!! While the prices rise, the quality drops here!! The highlight was the “all you can drink” aspect, but you can’t really go wrong with that. Oh yes, table service is also a joke, plates have to be handed to the waiter because he doesn't clear the plates from the table on his own.

Unfortunately, there are only a few vegetarian options and almost no vegan dishes. You can have vegetables fried, but I accidentally mixed in squid rings and my friend also had a piece of meat because the foods are fried next to each other. This shouldn't and shouldn't happen. I have no idea what kind of rotten meat they fried there. Never again!!! Judging by the reviews, it doesn't seem like this is the first time. By the way, the ice cream machine was broken and the chocolate fountain didn't run for about 2 of the 3 hour stay.

Be careful when going to the lunch buffet (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)! There is a big price difference at lunchtime between the lunch buffet without grill (Eur 22) and the “experience buffet” with grill (Eur 34). 22 euros is actually good value for money, but 34 euros is too much in my opinion. From the sign advertising the lunch buffet (at reception) I saw that the lunch buffet costs 22 euros per adult, including a beer or unlimited soft drinks. In the end it turned out that I had to pay 34 euros per person because I also took from the grill. Nobody explained this to us at the beginning and this is the first time we have used this lunch format (we usually go in the evening) so we were very upset when we got the bill. I have previously been a loyal customer for many years, but after this experience I will not be going back. The staff could have made it more clear at the start of the meal what exactly was included in the price. The sign at reception did not say (see below) that the grill was not included, nor did a waiter come to our table to clarify this, nor was there a menu, so we felt misled. If I had known the grill would cost so much more, I wouldn't have taken this option. The waiter for our table came at the end and wrote down how many adults and children were there. Also annoying as in our opinion we followed all the rules they had put in place (for the lunch buffet) which was to finish lunch by 2:30pm and not take unlimited beer and drinks but we still ended up having to pay the full price pay for the “experience buffet”. The checkout staff had no understanding of our situation and the misunderstanding. In any case, we won't be going there again because we had the feeling that the sign at the entrance was intentionally misleading and that customers were being pushed towards the 34 euro price, even if they actually wanted to choose the 22 euro option... Just please Adjust the sign at the entrance, then it will fit again and customers will know exactly what they are getting into.

We had dinner there for the Christmas party so first of all I have to contradict the negative reviews. Neither others nor I had stomach cramps/diarrhea etc. after/during the meal. The food was super delicious, the salad was fresh and crunchy, the noodles were great, duck, chicken, baked prawns, spring rolls, the desserts and much more, everything was delicious! The staff was also very friendly :) We would like to thank you for the delicious food and the lovely evening! 😋☺️

I hope that Hong Yun Lai returns to its old (very high!) quality - then I'll be happy to come back and give it 5 stars!

We really come here often and for us it is the best Asian buffet far and wide...BUT!!! Unfortunately, the problem that is becoming more and more acute is the toilets! They urgently need to be replaced, but old toilets can also be maintained and kept clean. This seems to be getting worse with every visit at the moment, even after the restaurant has just opened the floor is sticky, there is no toilet paper and the toilets are not clean. The toilet brushes and the clone brush holders also urgently need to be replaced! This definitely needs to be worked on as soon as possible, because this would actually be a reason to stay away from the restaurant despite the great food... Cleanliness doesn't cost anything and then we and our friends and acquaintances will continue to come over regularly and happily to eat :) The service staff is really very attentive and quick, unfortunately most of the employees touch the glasses when clearing away, this should also be avoided...fingers have no place in empty glasses either...otherwise the quality and selection of them is Food and drinks really great and something for everyone.
