It's alright overall. The food is more about quantity than quality. It used to be better, in my opinion. On the other hand, there's a wide selection of drinks, which are included. They even have Arizona iced tea and Burkhard juices. I think it's good that people who leave their plates piled high are asked to pay extra. Those kinds of people ruin buffets for everyone.

We ate there yesterday. We're usually very impressed and have been there several times. Yesterday, we sat near the children's area. It was incredibly loud. There were quite a few children there, running around and playing loudly, and even past the tables. We found it quite unpleasant. We have nothing against children, but this was definitely too much.

A wide selection of food and drinks. The food tastes good. Unfortunately, I found the soups too runny. And there wasn't much of a dessert selection! It's not a pleasant place to eat because it's very loud and crowded.

I'm giving it one star because I can't give less. The price is exorbitantly high for the quality and variety of the products offered. I can't recommend it to anyone. The sushi is prepared with distaste, the squid is reheated, the shrimp are breaded more than a schnitzel, and the dessert selection is very limited. I can't say anything positive about this restaurant. What a shame!

The food tastes very natural. The food selection is very diverse. The coffee is excellent. The chairs are comfortable and there's plenty of seating. The staff is friendly. The ambiance is perfectly fine. It's not particularly imaginative, but that's not a requirement.

We went out to eat today and were shocked. We were there as a group and were informed that the server doesn't like Turkish people. That's unacceptable. We came here to eat, not to find out if he likes foreigners or not. I don't think that's right, and we won't be coming back.

Spoiled food! We ate here on October 15, 2025 – a fatal mistake. The squid, chicken, and shrimp had an extremely strong and unpleasant odor. Shortly after eating, my mom became severely nauseous, had severe diarrhea, and vomited several times. The doctor confirmed food poisoning. This isn't a minor nuisance, but a serious health threat! Spoiled food should never be served to guests. We are shocked that such food was even served. ⚠️ This restaurant is absolutely not recommended – they're playing with the health of their guests!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The food is fresh; some dishes are greasy but still delicious. The servers are always there to clear dishes. Drinks are included in the lunch buffet, which is highly recommended for families. I enjoy going there. Because it's good, there are a lot of people there, so the noise level is quite high. After eating, I had severe stomach pains and very dirty dishes, and there was no proper cook (not a Chinese cook). It's just not like it used to be. Now the cleanliness is really bad, and no one knows how to cook. It's just terrible, unfortunately. It has nothing to do with Chinese taste; I'll never eat there again. I've been eating there for years, but lately, my stomach and stomach have been aching and my stomach is boiling. My rating on a scale of 1 to 10 is below 1, so it's terrible.

The food is always perfect – fresh, tasty and consistent – and for only 35 € you can eat as much as you want with an incredible variety. What we also appreciate a lot is how clean and well-kept everything is, from the tables to the buffet. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the atmosphere makes us return again and again. Truly the best choice in Ulm!

Review for HongYunLai Ulm Restaurant The food tasted okay, but unfortunately not fresh. The cucumbers in the salad were old and hard, the tomatoes disgusting – the entire salad was inedible. Even the hot dishes like chicken and rice had a strange taste. The men's restroom was not clean. There was no soap or paper towels for children – only a hairdryer for hand drying. That's unhygienic. There's a small play area for children inside the restaurant, but it's not safe. No MOT, broken or wobbly parts – our children almost hurt themselves. That's unacceptable! For the high price, this is all disappointing. The food, hygiene, and safety – all negative. We do not recommend this restaurant.

A great place to enjoy a buffet with friends. There's a wide selection of different foods. The evening event buffet is also a lot of fun, as you can create your own meal using fresh ingredients.

Service was so-so. It's all self-imposed. The ambiance wasn't suitable for a first, second, or third date.

And the fact that a chocolate fountain in an all-you-can-eat restaurant is hygienic is debatable. I wouldn't go back here in general. Besides, I find the price of €32 more than unreasonable. Meat ordered from the grill counter often simply doesn't arrive at all, and when it does arrive, it's ugly on one side and burnt on the other.

The prices are on the higher side, which is understandable given the range on offer - but: There are comparable or even better Asian restaurants in Ulm that have a more convincing taste and are also cheaper. The service was friendly, the atmosphere simple but clean and functional. Conclusion: If you just want to eat a lot and don't care too much about taste or value for money, you'll find what you're looking for here. For me personally it was okay - but there are alternatives that cook better and cost less.

In my opinion, you pay too much for what you get, but the clearing staff are very accommodating and quickly clear the empty plates that are on the table. The only thing I like now is that you no longer have to pay extra for drinks like you did back then and that you can refill them “infinitely” often at the machine with 3-6 different options, depending on how many are defective. All in all: mediocre, fried to death food and overpriced buffet prices per person.
