Holy Monk in Schwabach

2 Sterne, weil das Essen grundsätzlich in Ordnung war. Der Service hinterließ allerdings einen deutlich genervten Eindruck. Sowohl beim Bestellen als auch während des Aufenthalts wirkte die Bedienung eher lustlos als gastfreundlich. Besonders negativ aufgefallen ist mir eine Situation, die ich direkt miterlebt habe: Eine Gruppe älterer Gäste bat bei etwa 26 Grad darum, einen der vorhandenen Sonnenschirme zu öffnen, da nur Plätze in der Sonne frei waren. Die Antwort des Chefs lautete sinngemäß: „Machen wir nicht, dauert zu lang.“ Das fand ich gegenüber den Gästen unntöig unfreundlich und wenig serviceorientiert. Niemand erwartet, dass jeder Mitarbeiter ständig gute Laune hat. Ein Mindestmaß an Freundlichkeit und Entgegenkommen gegenüber zahlenden Gästen sollte jedoch selbstverständlich sein. Schade, denn mit etwas mehr Servicebereitschaft wäre der Eindruck deutlich besser gewesen…

Gutes Essen, große Portionen, faire Preise.

Super lecker und eigentlich richtig super, leider hat die Bestellung sehr lange gedauert und der Burger kam trotzdem mit Käse, obwohl dieses anders bestellt wurde, klar wurde dieses korrigiert aber wenn man schon ewig wartet und dann erneut wartet, wenn der Partner schon fast fertig ist, war dieses unangenehm und irgendwie blöde. Klar, kann passieren, sollte es aber nicht.

Schönes Ambiente, schön zum draußen sitzen, leider ist beim Service Luft nach oben. Die Jungs sind zwar super freundlich, allerdings saßen wir an einem Tisch etwas weg vom Eingang und wurden häufig übersehen und auch vergessen. Für Vegetarier mäßig geeignet, die Auswahl ist nicht all zu groß, wer nicht zu anspruchsvoll ist findet etwas. Alles in allem, würde ich wieder kommen.😊

Ein fantastisches Restaurant! Der Avocado-Beef-Burger war sehr gut, auch die Wedges und der gebackene Schafskäse. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Tolles Restaurant mit wirklich schönem Außenbereich – gerade an warmen Tagen sitzt man hier super angenehm. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt, das Personal freundlich und aufmerksam. Besonders positiv fand ich, dass es glutenfreie Burger-Optionen gibt, ohne dass man das Gefühl hat, auf Geschmack verzichten zu müssen. Der Burger war richtig lecker und hochwertig belegt. Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung, vor allem für alle, die glutenfrei essen möchten oder müssen und dabei trotzdem gutes Restaurant-Feeling suchen.

Wir waren hier jetzt zum zweiten Mal und es war wiederholt sehr lecker. Ich hatte die Bénédicter Eier, meine bessere Hälfte das Bauernbrot. Zudem sagt meine bessere Hälfte dass der Chailatte sehr lecker ist. So einen hat sie bisher noch nirgends getrunken! Alles im ganzen ist es zum frühstücken sehr zu empfehlen.

Nettes Lokal, auch für Mittag, bei dem man in ruhiger und sonnige Atmosphäre das draußen sitzen genießen kann. Sehr freundlicher Service und gutes Essen.

Auf dem Weg machten wir Mittagspause und entdeckten dabei dieses hübsche Lokal mitten in der Stadt. Das Essen war absolut köstlich und die Portionen großzügig. Wir waren zu viert und bestellten alle Pasta und einen Salat zum Teilen. Geschmacklich und preislich war alles hervorragend, ebenso wie die Getränke. Die Bedienung war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Lokal hat eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen! Vielen Dank.

Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut und die Portionen sind entsprechend des Preises gut. Die Auswahl finde ich ebenfalls Klasse. Das Personal ist freundlich und man wird schnell gesehen. Achtung: Als Allergiker hast du ein Problemchen mit den Pflanzen, da stehen auf jeden Tisch Pflanzen die, die Heuschnupfen Allergie Triggern könnten. Jedenfalls für mich.

Sind zum ersten Mal mit der Familie da. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut.

Leider dekoriert der Koch alle Speisen mit Balsamico, passt nicht wirklich. Der Service Mitarbeiter versteht nur sehr schwer deutsch. Das Essen war leider nicht der Hit. Wichtig: Keine Uhrzeiten angegeben bis wann es Frühstück gibt, was sehr ungünstig ist!

Wir waren zum Sonntagsbrunch hier, es war ausgebucht. Das Buffett war groß und abwechslungsreich. Mir hat es gut geschmeckt und die Atmosphäre war angenehm.

Burger war zu durch dadurch - sehr trocken und sehr fettig. Die Onion-Rings waren dagegen topp! Das Cola-Weizen sehr teuer 5.10€!

Sevicekraft jedes Mal sehr genervt und der Koch hatte wohl einen schlechten Tag.

Nettes und kompetentes Personal. Essen war lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich war bereits öfters in diesem Lokal zum brunchen als auch zum Abendessen. Ich bin jedesmal überwältigt von der Riesen Auswahl. Von Herzhaft bis Süß ist alles dabei. Eine Obst und Gemüsevielfalt ist auch geboten. Der Service ist auch super nett und immer zügig. Das Ambiente ist auch sehr modern eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich richtig wohl. Das Lokal ist etwas kleiner deshalb ist es vom Vorteil, einen Tisch zu reservieren.

War das erstmal da Essen ist gut nur mir persönlich sind die Portionen im Preis Leistungsverhältnis etwas zu weit auseinander. Personal war bemüht auf Fragen zu antworten was allerdings aufgrund der Sprachunterschiede nicht ganz so einfach war. Bier vom Fass wird in der Karte angeboten gibt es aber nichts zumindest bei unserem Essen. Ansonsten schönes Ambiente aber mir persönlich ist es von der Aufmachung zu kühl.

Klang für uns vielversprechender... Wir haben vorab telefonisch reserviert. Der Herr, der die Reservierung annahm, war freundlich, höflich und witzig. Kinder und Hund waren kein Problem! Das Restaurant war bei Ankunft nahezu voll. Es war allerdings auch Samstagabend (18:45Uhr) und Feiertag. Wenn das Lokal vollbesetzt ist, ist die Geräuschkulisse sehr hoch. Zwischen den Tischen ist es mitunter relativ eng. Die beiden Servicekräfte waren weitestgehend freundlich. Die eine junge Dame gefühlt etwas mehr als die andere. Sie waren jedoch beide bemüht. In der Karte waren KEINE ALLERGENE aufgeführt, es gab auch keine Allergikerkarte, OBWOHL Gaststätten EU-weit seit 2014 dazu gesetzlich verpflichtet sind!!! Das ist prinzipiell der erste Moment, in dem ich gerne aufstehen und gehen möchte. Glutenfreie Burger Buns sind vorhanden, was ja durchaus fortschrittlich ist, jedoch für 2€ Aufpreis. Das kennt man mitunter von anderen Restaurants und ich habe mich halbwegs damit "abgefunden". Glutenfreie Pommes waren ebenfalls aufgelistet. Auch für 2€ Aufpreis. Das finde ich schon mehr als frech. In Deutschland muss man sich glücklich schätzen, mit Zöliakie überhaupt etwas zum Essen zu finden. Wenn man dann für einen Burger mit Beilage jedoch 4€ mehr bezahlen muss, als der "Normalo", vergeht einem gänzlich die Lust, Essen zu gehen. Hätte ich keine hungrigen Kinder im Schlepptau gehabt, wäre ich spätestens jetzt gegangen. Geschmacklich waren die Speisen maximal Mittelklasse. Die glutenfreien Pommes waren beim ersten Mal "lätschig" und in der Mitte noch kalt. Die freundliche Bedienung (eine junge Dame aus Norwegen) brachte neue. Die zweite Fuhre war immer noch lätschig, aber in der Mitte wenigstens durch. Geschmacklich fad, nicht kross, definitiv keinen 2€ Aufpreis wert!!! Der Burger war in Ordnung. Mehr aber auch nicht. Die Schnitzel der Kinder waren okay. Die Pommes ebenfalls lätschig. Auch kein "wow-erlebnis". Uns konnte das Holy Monk leider nicht überzeugen. Ich möchte jedoch das Bemühen der Bedienung und die Freundlichkeit gerne hervorheben!

Delicious, great value for money!

I took my girlfriend here. She had cheese spaetzle and a Cola wheat beer and was satisfied. I had a cheeseburger with fries and a Spezi. It also came with a small bowl with about a tablespoon of salad. We paid €40 for it. The seating is very comfortable and the place is nice.

Very nice restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh. Four of us were there today. Unfortunately, we sat for a long time with our empty glasses. The service was nice and friendly but rarely showed up.

We had a delicious breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere. When the weather's nice, you can also sit outside.

It used to be better. The salad we always ordered had become considerably smaller. When we pointed out that the yufka and onions were missing, the waitress (supposedly after consulting the kitchen) told us that the ingredients had been on the salad and we had simply eaten them already. After we rejected this, she came back again, this time claiming that the chef had mixed everything together. So, what now? She then came back with two bowls, one with yufka and one with raw diced onions. No, thank you. We left it untouched. They made a fuss about a product worth less than €1. The waitress didn't even come over to ask for drinks. Oh well, what a shame, we always loved going there...

The portion size absolutely doesn't justify the price. Far too expensive for a much too small portion. Service could be much better.

We were severely disappointed. We had two cheeseburgers, one on a gluten-free and one on a whole-wheat bun, at lunchtime. - The cheese wasn't even remotely melted, but rather tarnished; so it definitely wasn't in the pan with the meat, but simply placed on top of the patty afterward. - The gluten-free bun tasted more like cardboard. - The whole-wheat bun was only about 1 cm thick, making it hard and practically inedible. - The wedges tasted watery. - The curly fries were crispy on the outside, but rather floury on the inside. - Cole slaw, which consists of mayonnaise as its main ingredient, is unfortunately a no-go! We had a homemade iced tea (which was sickly sweet) and a small water. The courtyard and the dining room look inviting, but the quality of the food didn't live up to its promise. Service was generally good, and drinks arrived quickly. When clearing the table, we were asked if we enjoyed our meal. A very brief silence and a reserved "thank you" from us were ignored. The women's restrooms were unfortunately very unkempt. Toilet paper and dirt on the floor, and the restrooms, while relatively new, were not clean enough to recommend. Something like that might be tolerable at 10 p.m. when the place is full, but not when it's almost empty at lunchtime. €43 is simply too expensive for that :(

Great place. They offer a wide selection of dishes from various national cuisines. Burgers, Greek dishes, salads, and sandwiches are available. There's definitely something for everyone, and the food always tastes good. The ambiance is very nice and cozy, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Keep it up!

We've been there several times, and at lunchtime the staff were simply annoying; they didn't even greet us. They slapped the menu down on the table. They didn't pay any attention to us at all. We called out to them 10 times before they noticed us. I think that's a disgrace.

My two nieces and I were thrown out of the restaurant because they had almost eaten an ice cream they had bought for themselves shortly before, and I didn't think anything of it! We actually wanted to have breakfast, but since the almost-eaten ice cream was a huge problem and the waiter was very rude, we immediately got up and left! What bothered me most was the arrogant tone, despite my polite explanation! Old Mr. Nastos would have turned in his grave if he'd seen that!

The breakfast is great, the staff very friendly, and dogs are welcome. Highly recommended.

We visited the restaurant spontaneously. At first glance, it looks nice. The drinks were good, but the food wasn't good value for money.

We went there for breakfast. Nice ambiance. They could make something of it. Some of the chairs were unfortunately dirty. Service was good. Rather expensive. For breakfast, we would have preferred a fresh roll for the price, as there are many bakeries in the area. The five slices of prepackaged sausage could be improved. The fried egg in the pan looks fancy, but is impractical to eat.

I stopped by here briefly this afternoon. First impression: lovely ambiance. Service was attentive and polite. I ordered a matcha latte, which looked beautifully decorated in the photo, but I got a glass of foamed milk with matcha powder. Certainly not the cafe's fault, but it tasted awful. I then ordered another espresso, and it came cold. Annoying.

We had the smashed burger, and it was really delicious. The atmosphere at Mönchshof was cozy; we sat outside. But on my way to the restroom, I was able to quickly look around inside, and the decor is top-notch. It makes you feel at home.

The fries were cold and rubbery, and the avocado in the burger was as hard as concrete. No apology, they just brought a shot on the house without comment.

The food not only looks great, it tastes just as good. 💕 The staff is very friendly, and there's always room, even for walk-ins! The location is also very good, with parking everywhere! All in all, simply good and delicious!

Although the restaurant was still quite full, especially outside, we were only able to get two meals (baked feta cheese) for three people at 9:15 p.m. That's unacceptable, even though we requested available food.

I really enjoyed it there. The outdoor area was really nice and relaxing, the service was super friendly, and the food was delicious! I definitely want to go back to Schwabach (I'm from Nuremberg) just for the food there and because there are so many dishes on the menu that I really want to try! But two small comments: 1. The chairs outside were a bit hard, especially for the back. A pillow or cushion might not hurt. And 2. I'm currently struggling with stomach problems and have to eat as gently as possible. So eating out isn't easy for me right now, as there are a lot of things I can't eat. I thought a chicken sandwich would be a good option out of all the options, and then I was a bit surprised when they served it with curly fries. I usually like to eat them, but they're not a good idea right now. I didn't see anything on the menu, though. If I've missed something, it would be great if all the side dishes were listed on the menu. This way, people with allergies, or like me, who have to watch out for everything right now, aren't unpleasantly surprised. But the sandwich was delicious! I'll definitely be back!

Spontaneously yesterday evening while we were passing through. Highly recommended, the food was a dream, the design of the restaurant was pleasant for the eye to enjoy and the service was very lovely. If we are here again, we will definitely come back.

I didn't really like it. Especially when it comes to value for money. My burger came to the table lukewarm, the cheese was still completely cold from the fridge, so apparently it wasn't fried on the patty as shown in some other pictures here. The fries are standard wholesale frozen food, nothing special.

I liked being there 20 years ago. Now it has been completely renovated in keeping with the times. I would be happy to come again when I am in this beautiful city of Schwabach.

The goulash soup was lots and really delicious, as were the teas and coffee arrangements, highly recommended.

Delicious food and good service – with small opportunities for optimization We reserved a table at Holy Monk on a Saturday evening and everything went smoothly. Since we were there in February, we unfortunately couldn't use the really beautiful outdoor area - it's definitely a highlight in summer! The restaurant has a pleasant ambience inside, although the design could offer a little more atmosphere. The service was attentive, our order was taken quickly, and the food came quickly. We were completely impressed by the taste of the food – fresh, aromatic and absolutely delicious! The waiting time was pleasantly short and you can tell the quality of the ingredients. Overall it's good value for money and we had a lovely evening. If the interior gets a little upgrade, the experience would be perfect. Conclusion: A great restaurant with delicious food and good service – we will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4 out of 5 stars)

We were there for the first time on January 3rd, 2025. Were very excited. The food was really tasty. The service was really good, very nice and accommodating.

The ambience in the restaurant is really a modern eye-catcher. Unfortunately, the burger was a bit cold in the middle and the service wasn't very friendly. Maybe she had a bad day 🤷🏼‍♂️.

My family and I had dinner here today. It was really tasty. We had three different burgers, a fraquett and a portion of spaghetti bolognese. Both the kids and us really enjoyed it. The ambience was also really nice and the service was great. Very accommodating and friendly. If we didn't live so far away we would definitely come here more often. Price performance is also great!

Were there for the first time yesterday. The food was ok, but I had a hair in my sandwich, the waitress didn't understand it. I had to go to the women's toilet, which was very dirty. Maybe it's because only male staff were present. But in my opinion that's not possible at all. That's why I can unfortunately only give it 2.5 out of 5 points

Got a seat without a reservation, received the food quickly, there wasn't enough sauce/bread in the salad for me, reordered and received it. Sorry, I think the portion is more generous in the Prinz, but I could be wrong. Overall it was good and tasted good.

Beautiful atmosphere, tried a lot of food (since I go there often), I'm always surprised at how good the food tastes, great service! Cocktails super tasty even without alcohol 👍 Price/performance is also okay... Overall, a great shop for chilling, eating, drinking and a good meeting place with friends and relatives, very family friendly! Thank you and see you next time 😎

It's always very good and the ladies give their all... but the queue times are often too long for me.

We ordered food to be picked up in the evening and picked up the food within the pick-up period given to us. Unfortunately the burger and baked potato were cold. And the salad with the potatoes wasn't dressed. The burger barely had just a dollop of the specified sauce on it and half a red onion ring that was thin. It's been better and warmer here. Too bad. Conclusion: don't order for home but eat there.

Ate two salads with shepherd's cheese. We thought it would be plain fried, but then it was breaded. But it still tasted very good.

We really enjoyed the food and had a little celebration here. The ambience, the waiting times, the service staff and the quality of the food were excellent. We are completely satisfied, and the location in the city of Schwabach is also very central and well located. We will definitely come back and would be happy to recommend you.

Very nicely located café/restaurant with delicious food. We had a buffet and a private event there today and it was really outstanding. Service friendly, polite and quick. Buffet delicious, varied and remarkably good, well above average. I would love to come back and can highly recommend it. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the prices. The ambience is modern inside and out but still warm and cozy.

It's a shame when you relax and enjoy a nightcap and actually want to leave after your first order. Two drinks took 15 minutes with a small number of guests Even after asking, the water we ordered wasn't brought... the strawberry mochito probably didn't see any alcohol... when we asked, they just said it had alcohol in it! Summary... a different restaurant for the next nightcap.

I can't rate the food now, I think the coffee was from Lavazza. Unfortunately I personally don't like it. Ambiance and service were ok.

The small courtyard is a lovely place to sit in a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately quite a lot went wrong with our orders, no apology or correction from the Holy Monk. The waitresses don't really make you feel welcome. Very unfortunate.

Good food, beautifully decorated shop, some terribly unfriendly staff, unfortunately not family friendly at all. The food is good, but not so great that you're happy to pay the hefty prices. It is very nicely decorated inside and outside it is also nice and cozy. Children are tolerated but nothing more. Strange rules like 'tables may not be moved outside' (we wanted to be in the shade when it was 32 degrees, there was enough space) were simply enforced without explanation (we had asked). That's just the way it is, the tables can't be moved. The staff was repeatedly unfriendly and spoiled our mood. This didn't just happen once. In the end it was so bad that we left again. Plus point that, in fairness, has to be mentioned: One of the few in the restaurant here that offers gluten-free alternatives. You can eat well and have a nice evening/day here, but not with small children. The service should be aware that families have different needs and requirements. If these cannot be met, you can also convey this in a friendly manner and not in a sloppy way.
