Was with you for the first time today and I was absolutely not disappointed! Right from the start, communication was great and quick and thanks to your very detailed “technical rider” I knew exactly what to expect on site and so I also knew that I would find reasonable lighting and sound technology. That's how it was! A short briefing by the nice Thomas and everything was ready to go. This is how working is fun! 💪🏼 The service staff was also very attentive and friendly throughout the evening and looked after me very well. Class! The event barn itself offers a cinematic backdrop and is therefore perfect for weddings - day and night. Everything is clean and tidy and modernly furnished. My personal highlight was the upper gallery of the barn, which is furnished with comfortable leather armchairs and atmospheric decorations. It also offers a great view of the dance floor from above! Three years after our wedding, we finally made it here for dinner again and were thrilled once again! Despite the small menu, we ate great food without any compromises. The service was great - very friendly, super fast and warm. The cozy and stylish ambience captivated us again. We would get married there again in a heartbeat!

After reading the reviews, I feared the worst, but since we had a voucher, we still went with the family, 8 people. No idea if the restaurant took past reviews to heart or if the reviewers were just unlucky. Our experience was very good. Very good price/performance ratio, down-to-earth cuisine and a manageable menu. It was delicious! Only the potato pancake for the starter was only lukewarm for everyone who ordered it; Please give it out earlier next time ;-) Service very committed and prompt. The dishes came quickly and no one died of thirst. We'll definitely be back soon!

We had our DREAM WEDDING! I don't even know where to start. From the first contact with lovely Melina to the technician and service staff, everything went perfectly. You gave us the best evening of our lives! Dear Ulrike created a wonderful, delicious cake and desserts exactly according to our wishes! Only recommended. The breakfast the day after was so loving! Every request was catered for. Thank you Melina, you are and were fantastic!

Wir waren am 25.12.24 zum Brunchen dort und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Buffet war reichlich mit leckeren warmen und kalten Speisen die keine Wünsche offen ließen. Das Personal war unfassbar freundlich. Die Atmosphäre war festlich und einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Das Restaurant ist sehr ansprechend und gemütlich und auch Hunde sind dort herzlich willkommen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder dort einkehren wenn es uns mal wieder ins Oberbergische verschlägt.

Location is very nice with a lake and in the middle of the forest. Went to the so-called “Hüttenzauber” suburb today. And what can I say? Very sad 3 huts outside and 3 exhibitors in the middle of the dining room. I think it was very poorly done. And the bratwurst outside for €5 was the worst bratwurst I've ever eaten for the price. Fried in the pan, only half warm and in an extremely dry bun. Absolutely not recommended for eating this place if no effort is made with a bratwurst!!

We were there on December 31, 2024 for the New Year's Eve buffet. Unfortunately, my experience that evening was anything but satisfactory. Unfortunately, at first the food was a disappointment. Both the beef fillet and the roast beef were lukewarm. The plates were also not preheated, which further spoiled the overall picture. In addition, there was no salad - a dish that, in my opinion, should be a given at a buffet. Given the high price of 80 euros per person, I expected better quality food. Overall, in my opinion, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not justified. The service and the great atmosphere are positive. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. However, the very good service could not compensate for the aforementioned deficiencies in terms of the food and the price-performance ratio. I hope that you will take this feedback as an opportunity to review your quality and standards in order to provide future guests with a more satisfactory experience.

Went there for the first time today with friends. The ambience outside and inside is very nice. 2 stars then only for ambience. Staff nice, but the price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. This borders on absolute outrageousness. You have to pay extra for supplements that are not declared on the card. When we asked, we were told rather ignorantly. A small burger costs a whopping 17 euros without a side dish. These cost extra for each dish. 15 euros for a normal salad? Of course without chicken breast. Then there's a whopping 9 euros on top of that. We still wanted to try it, but were absolutely disappointed. In terms of taste, it was absolutely rubbish. We definitely won't be coming back. Not recommended!

On December 6th, 2024 we were at my girlfriend's great wedding. It was a dream! Great Sal! Great service! Food was great 👌Bartender was excellent, reacted really well (thanks for the wine spritzer 🥂) So I can only recommend it 💯💥❤️

We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday in the event barn last week and we were absolutely thrilled. The food, the service, the rooms for overnight guests - there's really nothing to complain about at all; therefore 5 stars everywhere. The location is simply a dream and our guests have confirmed this. A very special thank you goes to Ms. Reif for her great work!!! It was a very special evening for us that we will always remember fondly.

Unfortunately I have to get rid of my frustration... I've been to the mill a lot over the last few years. But I'm sorry if I have to say it, I'll never enter this store again... It's not at all like it used to be... Service is catastrophic and the food has nothing to do with quality anymore, it's simply outrageous!!! .. Don't know what happened there but that's definitely the wrong way...

Ambiance is very nice. Service is not good, staff is unfriendly. The worst thing is the size of the portion. I had a schnitzel. It was almost half as small as usual and very thin. A good schnitzel throws bubbles or waves on the breading, that wasn't the case and it looked like frozen food. In general, the quality has decreased and asking for such a high price as on the menu is audacious.

The ambience was great and we arrived excitedly for a thank you meal...then we started Several meals came to the table without a side dish with the sentence no more, when asked why they didn't say that before, they got a stroppy answer. This was repeated for the main course and the dessert. Unfortunately the preparation wasn't ok either. The icing on the cake was that when we paid we were complained about why we were there 10 minutes longer than it was open. There were 13 of us there and we left a lot of money behind. Something like that doesn't work :-(

A very nice location in the forest. The menu looked promising, but there were some "mishaps" in the service: half of our group got their food first, the other group (including children) got their food about 40 minutes later. When you ordered a glass of wine from one of the waiters after your meal, you received the answer: I'm not responsible for orders. One guest's side dish was missing, but they said everything was ok.

Unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations 2 dishes did not correspond to the menu, a dish that was declared vegetarian was prepared with bacon. The salad bowl was missing several ingredients that were on the menu. The baguette had to be requested and came carelessly on a coffee saucer. We were there on a weekday and it wasn't full. You can just tell there's a lack of qualified staff. The ambience is nice, but the price-performance ratio is not right. There is a lack of that certain extra and especially when it comes to vegetarian dishes, they have to correspond to the description on the menu.

The food is good, but the service doesn't match the prices charged for the food. When we ordered our second round of drinks, the empty glasses weren't taken away, the neighboring table wasn't cleaned up after the guests left, and so on. Could list more things. I took a little trip to the mill with my girlfriend, we enjoyed coffee and cake, went hiking in the beautiful surroundings, and went back to the mill for dinner in the evening. The food was outstanding! Nothing more is possible. The service was also absolutely top. The atmosphere is cozy and high-quality, the event barn, where a wedding took place at the same time, was magically beautiful. We were basically onlookers. The rooms were extremely comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was perfect, the homemade jam was a dream - we'll definitely be back :) It's really great! When the beer garden opens it will be a perfect place for families with children - a playground will be integrated right away! Mega!!

After our Moselle tour we stopped for a burger. It was very tasty... only the service leaves a lot to be desired... one hand doesn't know what the other is doing... but that's probably the case these days... If you don't get skilled staff.

Went there again after a very long time and were looking forward to a nice evening because of the numerous good reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed!! We wanted to sit outside, which unfortunately we weren't allowed to do. We couldn't understand it because there was only one table occupied, otherwise everything was empty and it stayed that way the whole evening. The food was OK. With a bowl of rice you actually expect the rice to be warm, but everyone sees it differently. Charging around 25 euros for a salad bowl with chicken is brave! The service was almost overzealous. After every order we took, someone came at least twice and asked if we wanted to order something. After we had our food we were wished bon appetit four more times. It's well-intentioned, but at some point it just gets annoying. There are dried flowers on the tables and spiders have built real castles with their webs between the decorations. It hasn't been cleaned for a long time! At the end, when the waiter was doing the billing, he complained about the next table complaining about little things. This is an absolute NO GO!!! Too bad! Before our visit we thought we had found a restaurant that we could visit more often…

Location and surroundings very nice. Food was okay, in my opinion the service is better in a chip shop. The prices there do not match the service. Decoration is actually fine, but you should dust it every now and then.

We celebrated our mother's 90th birthday here 5 days ago. From the request, the planning (Ms. Reif) to the last minute in the restaurant, everything was excellent. Our mom and the guests (from 4 to 91 years old) were totally thrilled! My sister and I decorated the tables the evening before. The lady (restaurant manager?) who helped us set up the tables had so much to do and, like everywhere else, no staff at the moment, it was very nice that she helped and advised us despite the stress. It wasn't really difficult for us to choose the menu that was served to us at the table, as the menu offers something to suit every taste. There was plenty of everything served, including the starters, and you can really say: it was simply delicious. A big compliment to the kitchen! The drinks for the reception were ready and so was the young man (Waheed) who provided us with great service throughout the evening. We were always served very courteously and quickly. It was also appealing that the woman celebrating her birthday was always asked first, then the older guests and then the younger ones. That's why our very special thanks go to this service. Also a special thank you to the wonderful pastry chef, who surprised us with her cake creations during the meeting. Our mom and all the guests were thrilled with the great cake - the look - the taste - really great. I hope you can order such a great creation "out of the house" - even if you have a 45 minute drive... All in all a very nice stay here, everything really worked out. We definitely recommend the Holsteins Mühle, I have already done so several times today. But we will certainly be guests more often ourselves. Wir haben den 90. Geburtstag unserer Mutter hier gefeiert. Von der Anfrage, der Planung (Frau Reif) bis hin zur letzten Minute im Restaurant war alles hervorragend. Unsere Mama und die Gäste (von 4 - 91 Jahre )waren total begeistert! Meine Schwester und ich haben den Abend vorher die Tische dekorieren können. Die Dame (Restaurantleiterin?) die uns behilflich beim Stellen der Tische war hatte soviel zu tun und wie überall zur Zeit kein Personal, es war sehr nett, dass sie uns trotz des Stresses geholfen und beraten hat. Die Auswahl des Menues welches uns am Tisch serviert wurde fiel uns nicht wirklich schwer, da die Karte für jeden Geschmack etwas Passendes bietet. Es wurde von Allem reichlich serviert, auch von den Vorspeisen und man kann wirklich sagen: es war einfach nur köstlich. Ein ganz großes Lob an die Küche! Die Getränke für den Empfang standen parat und der junge Mann (Waheed) der uns den ganzen Abend eine super Service geboten hat ebenso. Wir wurden immer sehr zuvorkommend und schnell bedient. Ansprechend auch, dass immer zuerst die Jubilarin gefragt wurde, dann die älteren Gäste und dann die Jüngeren. Deshalb geht auch unser ganz besonderer Dank an diesen Service. Ebenso ein besonderer Dank an die wunderbare Konditormeisterin, die uns schon bei der Besprechung mit ihren Tortenkreationen überraschte. Unsere Mama und alle Gäste waren von der tollen Torte begeistert - Aussehen - Geschmack - echt klasse. Ich hoffe man kann so eine tolle Kreation auch mal "ausser Haus" bestellen - auch wenn man 45 min Anfahrt hat.... Alles in Allem ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt hier, es hat wirklich alles gepasst. Wir empfehlen die Holsteins Mühle auf jeden Fall weiter, ich habe es heute schon mehrfach getan. Aber wir werden auch selbst sicher noch öfter zu Gast sein. Vielleicht auch mal mit Übernachtung in einem der hübschen Zimmer an einem besonderen Anlass. Had dinner there for the first time yesterday. The location is really fantastic and extraordinary. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, my burger pattie was cooked through despite being asked medium or well done, which I answered medium. The service was a bit annoying. The dispenser was probably broken and some had to wait about 20 minutes until they had something to drink, even those who only ordered a soft drink. It wasn't too crowded that evening. Then it came to payment and the service offered the option of paying separately or together. There were then disagreements among the group about how to pay. In my opinion, the employee intervened somewhat inappropriately rather than saying he would come back when we had sorted this out. All in all, it's nice to eat there and sit outside, but I've noticed from my friends that the service unfortunately often leaves something to be desired.

Great weather and the ideal place for a trip. We thought. Reserved the evening before via the website. Very simple. Arrived and read the sign in front of the entrance, please wait, we will seat you. That's where it all started. After about 5 minutes of waiting, the young gentleman at the bar, which was directly adjacent, said that someone would take care of it straight away. He could have done that straight away, with any hints: would you like to have a drink while you wait? Certainly not the worst business tactic given the temperatures. Then at some point the (head waiter??) came and told us to sit down at the only table that was completely dirty. Pictures show the condition as found. Then it took forever until the order was taken. My request to perhaps clean this table was included in the comment and will be taken care of immediately. Well, the colleague who was supposed to do that was probably on break during the entire stay. Because no one came anymore. It's very difficult to classify the staff anyway, as one wears something with a logo and the next doesn't. The waitresses prefer to walk around the BG with empty tablets for free, even though there were endless empty glasses on all the tables. But maybe that's what management wants. A little more authenticity in the dress code in a beer garden would certainly not go amiss. After a normal waiting time, the food we ordered came, well we ordered two dishes, but unfortunately not a main dish. Because the kitchen probably doesn't like reading what the waiter adds as an addition. Because if you order a burger without red wine onions, you certainly have your reasons for it. And if it arrives with the same ones that were absolutely sugary, then even removing them doesn't help. Because everything just tastes sweet. The barn burger is also probably made in a very large barn, where there is a lot of draft, because it came to the table cold. My Zurich Geschnetzeltes was ok so far, but unfortunately just ok. Gambas and pimentos as starters are also good. In terms of price, we knew it would be a bit expensive, as some of the reviews already said. But the performance should match the price accordingly. And that's absolutely not the case here. When asked the (head waiter??) about the whole thing at the end, the whole thing was handled very professionally. But what should he change if there are no staff there? “His words” My tip would be to close areas and not just think about sales, but about the guests who come. How lucky it is that it's not the only beer garden in the world. Once is enough

The champagne reception, the subsequent meal, the wedding cake and the service were simply great! Top organization, we felt like we were in great hands!

Despite the beautiful location, only 3 stars because unfortunately the waitress in the restaurant was only sleeping and gave the impression that they didn't feel like working. It's a shame given the increased prices you would expect better hospitality and food.

I had reserved a table at Holsteins Mühle because I wanted to eat there. After the various male waitresses all ignored me for 30 minutes, I left after 30 minutes without having accomplished anything. Despite the very beautiful location, I can absolutely NOT recommend Holsteins Mühle. ☹️

We have already been to the mill 3 times. 1x with overnight stay. Room was nice. Bed a bit small. Enough for one night. Unfortunately, noisy. Location, service and lunch and dinner are really good. Absolute recommendation! There’s nothing to complain about! The Bergisch coffee table, waffles and wedding cake are also highly recommended! Breakfast is ok, but could be better (no cream cheese, little or no cucumber, tomato, no Nutella, rolls like the day before). There is a small playground that is perfectly adequate for a few hours. We always enjoy coming back.

A larger family celebration with friends there was quite pleasant, at the “Bergische Kaffeetafel”. The tables were beautifully set in the front large hall with a view of the rustic beer garden and the small sand playground for the kiddy's🤩. We just wished that our guests' drinks weren't served so sluggishly... The coffee table was very varied, appealing & delicious😋!!! (06/01/2024)

Ancient, extensive mill property in the forest, surrounded by large ponds. We were only there for coffee and cake. Trained service, impeccable quality, reasonable prices. Gladly again at any time.

Old and new in a wonderful symbiosis! Technical equipment from the mill has been lovingly assembled and rehearsals for a wedding have just taken place in the event barn. KNX technology at its best with views into nature. I ate grilled asparagus with a poached egg and a herb vinaigrette, very good. In the main course, the finest game ragout. The red cabbage was definitely homemade, just like a Rösti that I was able to taste. The service manager Katja was always keeping an eye on the table and I can only recommend - try it yourself!!

Today we visited the beautiful Holsteins Mühle property in Nümbrecht. The property is beautifully situated in the green and, in addition to a cozy beer garden, also offers several rooms for different group sizes. As a real highlight, there has been an event barn there for a few years now, which even offers a cozy lounge on the upper floor, which can be used as a retreat for the bride and groom at a wedding celebration, for example. Directly next to the event barn there are other beautiful outdoor seating areas and a pavilion located in a small lake. Accommodation options are also available. All around a really great location. For food I chose the wild ragou from local forests with chanterelles and porcini mushrooms, spaetzle, red cabbage and cranberries. The portion was very generous and a real culinary delight. The price-performance ratio was a bit high, but that is understandable given this location and the food. Of course, the friendly staff must not be forgotten and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the lovely evening at Holsteins Mühle.

The post is a little longer, but it's worth reading to the end! We got married last weekend in the Holsteins Mühle or the adjacent event barn with 75 guests. Where should I start... Since we first contacted event manager Ms. Reif almost 1.5 years ago, we have never had any doubts about our choice of location. At first glance, Holsteins Mühle is certainly not the cheapest option for organizing a (wedding) celebration, but compared to many other locations it is worth every euro! Everything really fit here. We really had A LOT of questions before the party. Everything was always answered quickly and completely professionally by Ms. Reif. The test meal where we were offered almost the entire selection of food and drinks. Special requests regarding the wine :-) or the consideration of a vegan guest were no problem at all. The event barn itself is absolutely “state of the art”. The beautiful outdoor area with the pavilion on the lake is perfect for a free wedding ceremony. A huge bar, the adjoining well-equipped kitchen and the gallery for the bridal breakfast and as a comfortable retreat left nothing to be desired. Our DJ (can be found under) "Wedding DJ ST3VE O", who by the way "rocked" the barn more than we could imagine, said: "This is better equipped than some disco!" The food should also not go unmentioned. We chose the “Family Menu” which was served as a table buffet. From the starters to the main courses to the dessert, you can tell that complete professionals are at work here. As a guest gift, we tried in vain to get personalized chocolates from one of THE praline manufacturers in the area... Ms. Reif also had a solution for this: the in-house patissière gave us several ideas and we (and especially the guests) were completely thrilled with the chocolates. Last but not least, and this would actually be worth its own 5-star entry: the service! From the bridal breakfast, to the house technician, the kitchen and of course the guest service: Guys, you were awesome! Everything was just right here. Led by the banquet manager Katja, the boys and girls contributed significantly to this unforgettable day with their ultra-friendly and attentive nature, absolutely professional behavior and a solution to every problem. After an exhilarating party, many of our guests stayed overnight at the partner hotel “Zur Post” in Wiehl. This also went completely smoothly and as a very special breakfast option, we, including the guests who stayed in Holsteins Mühle and the Hotel Zur Post, had breakfast in the Holsteins Mühle restaurant. We also found this to be a really nice ending. We would like to once again thank everyone involved for this fantastic celebration. Keep it up!

We ate there with our groomsmen for a rehearsal for our wedding. The food was extremely good and the service was very courteous and impeccable. We recommend.

A really great restaurant with a great menu. Were there for the first time today. These dishes and the ingredients are of really high quality and prepared with sophistication. Still down to earth and filling. We really enjoyed it and we will definitely come back and can highly recommend the restaurant. The ambience is also really nice

It was tasty but it's really prohibitively expensive. 18€ for a citizen without any side dish, if you want a vegetarian party you pay 3.00€ extra for what reason? There is just as good food for cheaper prices, for example. In the BurgerWerk in Wiehl or in the touchdown in Lohmar The ambience is really nice but can the prices be justified?

Unfortunately, he didn't understand anything, so the coffee table that was ordered inevitably turned into lunch because the coffee table "has to be reserved according to the staff". 5 hours tel. So we probably made a reservation for a few waffles at short notice.... Employees seem overwhelmed. You get the wrong drinks, food is served without cutlery, which you then have to "steal" yourself from the neighboring table because there are no staff in sight. ..But nice location.

Ein wirklich gelungener Abend! Sehr gutes Essen in einem tollen Ambiente und ausgesprochen freundlichem Service. Unkomplizierte Karte aber sehr gut und lecker umgesetzt. Hier gibt's echtes Wiener Schnitzel, frisch geklopft (war zu hören 😊) und paniert, meine Frau hatte Hühnerfrikassee wie bei Muttern. Kommen gerne wieder...

Rarely experienced such a beautiful atmosphere. And everyone is just so nice and attentive. A Valentine's Day/evening like in a picture book. The food and drinks were excellent. Price high, but justified. Our 3 year old son was looked after very lovingly. We took our time, sometimes not so easy with children, but it was served to the point. Great and very professional. Thanks alot! 😘
