Excellent food. We had a selection of different soups and appetizers because we couldn't decide. Everything was delicious and fresh. We even managed to get a seat late in the evening.

Great sushi, super delicious! We'll be back often. The atmosphere is also great, and it's best to make a reservation in advance.

Food: authentic, fresh, and truly delicious – everything from appetizers to sushi is a delight, beautifully presented. The ambiance and location are top-notch. But: prices are significantly higher than the average of comparable, well-reviewed Vietnamese/Asian restaurants in Mainz/Wiesbaden. Main courses and sushi combos, in particular, are noticeably higher. Recommendation: go if quality is more important to you than budget.

We sat outside for dinner; the table was neither nicely set nor clean, and the sushi wasn't good value for money. And we often eat sushi at different restaurants in Wiesbaden and Mainz. There's definitely better sushi for the price.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited Hoi An QT – Fine Sushi & Indochine Kitchen in Mainz and was absolutely thrilled. As soon as you enter, you feel the pleasant atmosphere, stylishly decorated, and very inviting. The service was attentive, friendly, and fast. The culinary experience was a real highlight: • The coconut soup was perfectly seasoned, creamy, and fresh. • The avocado salad with tuna was incredibly light, fruity, and yet refined in flavor. • The Vientiane beef was tender, aromatically seasoned, and cooked to perfection – simply a delight. Everything was very freshly prepared and beautifully presented. You immediately notice the attention to detail and the high quality of the ingredients. For me, Hoi An QT is one of the best places in Mainz for enjoying Asian cuisine at the highest level. I highly recommend it – I'll definitely be back!

We wanted to sit outside, as it was a beautiful, warm evening. There were plenty of seats available, but the very unfriendly staff member insisted that wasn't possible. It's a shame. The acoustics inside were very loud, and it pretty much ruined my evening, especially on my adult child's birthday. It's really annoying. The food is okay, though.

Everything tasted great, the staff were very friendly, but be careful, they only accept cash.

Addendum: I've noticed that both my review and other critical reviews have been removed. According to Google, this was due to defamation. Since my review describes only personal impressions and subjective taste perceptions, I find this way of handling criticism unacceptable. --- The food was okay, but the tempura sushi in particular didn't completely convince me. I found the consistency quite firm, and the tofu included was prepared in the form of a tofu skin, which was sweeter than I expected. For my taste, it didn't go perfectly with the rest of the sushi. The seating consists exclusively of benches without backrests, which I personally found less comfortable. The pleasant ambiance of the restaurant deserves special mention. This review represents my personal opinion and subjective perception and does not contain any false statements of fact. It therefore falls under the permissible expression of opinion according to Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Basic Law.

This fourth time came to HOI An QT the food was delicious but tempura was not good papaya salad was also delicious but the problem with waiter’s they not sneak English well and not helpful when we try to chose from menu

The price matches the quality and is absolutely reasonable. We had sushi this time. On our first visit earlier this year, we had other hot dishes from the menu. Everything was very tasty and highly recommended. The homemade lemonades are also great. If you're in Mainz, it's definitely worth a visit.

Fatal, both the food and the service

The provider deliberately removes reviews, even if they're only slightly negative. I used to enjoy using the site, but this approach is simply unacceptable.

The food was very good. After 1.5 hours, you have to clear the table. A 0.4-liter draft beer costs €5.40. I won't go there again.

My favorite for sushi & more! 🍣❤️ The inside and out rolls? Simply perfect, super fresh, super delicious! My absolute favorite, though, is the curry. The homemade lemonades are also really good. The place is very nicely decorated, but the seats could be a bit more comfortable. The only small downside: the restrooms are only accessible via a few steps, not ideal for people with limited mobility. Otherwise: A definite recommendation!

We were at the Asian restaurant "Mitakëso" for lunch and tried the lunch special for €10.90. I ordered rice with shrimp. What I really liked: Despite the extreme heat outside, the food seemed fresh and appetizing. Everything was well-balanced and delicious. You can tell that they pay attention to freshness – that's definitely a plus. What I didn't like so much, however, was that the portion was a bit small. While you can't expect huge amounts for €10.90, I found three shrimp in one serving a bit too much. The shrimp themselves were unfortunately quite tasteless – they had no real flavor of their own, but at least they weren't bad or spoiled. The rice, sauce, and some greens tasted well together, but overall I would have preferred a bit more vegetables or a slightly larger portion. Conclusion: Delicious, fresh food at a fair price – but the portions were a bit small. I would still come back, maybe try something different next time.

We just tried Hoi An QT this week and we’re so glad we did. They were super busy so I would for sure make reservations. Inside seating is modern and sleek. The staff is professional and service was very quick. The Menu was extensive with many options for Thai, curries, vegetarian options, and the sushi list goes on forever. My husband enjoy the “freestyle” sushi which was considered Chefs special and had assorted shrimp, salmon, white fish, crab meat and was super tasty. I enjoyed the veggie with tempura avocado and cucumbers, yum 😋 and my daughter nursing a sore throat loved the lemongrass soup. Definitely will be visiting again on another trip to Mainz. Parking nearby.

This was the best sushi I've had in a long time. Combining two different platters for two was absolutely no problem. The service was excellent. Including drinks, we paid over €120, which we split between four, but was still a great price for such high-quality sushi. We'll definitely be back!

During my time in Mainz I often went to this restaurant. For me the best of its kind in the vicinity. The sushi is good, sometimes a little too spectacular, but always of the highest quality. Even the main dishes, such as curry, are very good and I often preferred them to sushi. The staff is very kind, sometimes a little messy when booking by phone. In any case, for me one of my favorite restaurants in the city that I can only recommend to everyone (it is always advisable to book). Fair price for what you eat!

Super delicious food - we can only recommend it. We had sushi, curry and edamame and everything was great. The only thing that bothered us was that it was so incredibly loud. But you can cope with that with the delicious food.

Super tasty - booking a table is essential

I was there with friends, the food was very tasty and varied. You should reserve in advance as the restaurant and its ambience are in demand. I have to get used to the volume 😞 The service also requires a bit of patience. What's strange is that you order more or less so-called "slots". After a certain amount of time you have to clear the table, but this is more than enough.

For me, there's only one thing to say here: everything was perfect! The food was super delicious, and the phò, in particular, was incredibly authentic! I felt like I was back on the side of the road in Vietnam 🤗 I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again soon. Thumbs up 👍👍👍

Very well located restaurant near the old town. Be sure to reserve otherwise nothing will work. Despite the restaurant being fully booked, you feel comfortable, very pleasant atmosphere with pleasant background noise. Very nice and attentive service despite the high number of visitors. Well done 👍 Sushi was very tasty, dumplings as a starter. Not an all you can eat or cheap sushi restaurant, so no overcrowded plates but great quality. In the restaurant there was consistently positive feedback on the quality and taste of the food, including menus without sushi. Repeat secured.

A fabulous restaurant serving delicious Vietnamese (and a kind of Asian fusion) cuisine. I had one of the lunch specials which was a crispy chicken and rice dish with curry. It was excellent. And very substantial in quantity. I could barely finish the meal, but I did because it was so delicious! The service was excellent and the meals (for all 4 us at the lunch) were delivered to our table promptly. Can highly recommend.

Starting with the service, through the perfectly acceptable waiting time for food, to the great presentation. Everything was consistent. The only thing that could be criticized here is the open sockets directly under the seating area (some of them missing covers). The food tasted excellent. Price is appropriate for the performance.

This restaurant is really something special. The food, ambience and service were really good. Everything we ordered was exceptionally delicious! The quality of the preparation was first class. A highlight is the sushi, which is always served somewhat exotically with a small volcano made of bubbling dry ice. The ambience of the restaurant is really cozy. We would be happy to come back here at any time.

Too many visitors. The food has also become worse than it was a year ago. When I asked for an additional plate, the cellar said no. Overall I'm disappointed.

Very good food. Sushi was excellent and very fresh. Unfortunately I have to make two small deductions. The door is constantly being opened by guests. Although they tried to seal it off with a curtain, cold air is constantly coming in and it is very drafty. Second deduction is actually the price. Of course quality has to come at a price, but €45 per head for lunch is quite an announcement. So if you want really good food and are happy to pay for it, this is the place for you.

There is only a half point deduction because we had a table with only benches. It was a little uncomfortable, but otherwise nothing to complain about at all.

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. We ordered a hot dish, a chef's special sushi and cold sake to go with it. We requested that the sushi be served before the hot dish, but it arrived first. Furthermore, the sake had a distinctly sour taste, which is not normal. We informed the waiter, who took the issue to the chef. However, the chef claimed that this was the correct taste of sake, which was definitely not true. I've tried several types of sake and I can guarantee that this one was spoiled. We ended up not drinking, but we were still charged. It was an unfortunate situation."

The sushi and summer rolls taste good, but depending on the type they are also very weak. For what it is, just way too expensive! There is better sushi at low prices in Mainz! The homemade soda is non-carbonated and only tastes like water with sugar... a shame. The staff is also mostly in a bad mood and can ruin your appetite.

Ich wohne in Mainz und war schon des Öfteren in dem Restaurant essen. Da sich meine Arbeit auch in der Nähe befindet habe ich ebenfalls schon Essen abgeholt. Die Preise sind im Laufe der letzten Jahre enorm gestiegen und das Restaurant ist in Mainz mit das teuerste in dem es Sushi gibt. Vor kurzem wollte ich telefonisch essen zum Abholen bestellen, da ich kein Bargeld hatte habe ich nach der Möglichkeit mit Karte zu zahlen gefragt. Es hieß dies sei kein Problem. Als ich meine Bestellung aufgegeben hatte hieß es jedoch plötzlich, dass es einen Mindestbestellwert von 30€ für Kartenzahlung gebe. Ich wurde also aufgefordert entweder mehr zu bestellen (hier wurden mir die Edamame für ca 5€ vorgeschlagen) oder ich solle den fehlenden Betrag als Trinkgeld geben. Diese Aufforderung fand ich ziemlich schwierig! Ich werde bestimmt so schnell nicht wieder etwas in diesem Restaurant essen!
