⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 out of 5 stars We ate at Hohmanns Brauhaus – the highs and lows were pretty evenly balanced. The pork loin was perfectly pink, cooked to perfection. The schnitzel was okay, solid, nothing exceptional. The red cabbage, unfortunately, was very mushy and clearly overcooked – a shame. The cold plates were a bit of a mystery. They supposedly came from a plate warmer – but if that were the case, they would hardly have been comfortable to serve. Physics must have been briefly occupied elsewhere 😉 The soups were high quality and perfectly acceptable in terms of taste; that was a definite plus. The dining room was a bit too cold in winter, which made the experience less comfortable. The service was noticeably inconsistent: Empty glasses were sometimes left on the table for extended periods, even when staff were present. A quick glance at the tables – and then a response – would make a big difference. Conclusion: Good food with potential, but service and details hold back the overall impression. With more attention, it could be significantly better.

We visited the brewery with 10 guests. The service from the waitresses was excellent. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals! My order was beef consommé with liver dumplings, grilled pork knuckle on sauerkraut with beer gravy, and a mixed salad with vinaigrette. For dessert, Belgian waffles with cinnamon cherries and vanilla ice cream. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

We had a truly wonderful experience! The food was outstanding and absolutely delicious. The service was first-class, with friendly and attentive staff. The ambiance was very pleasant and beautifully designed, which made the entire visit very inviting. A restaurant I can highly recommend to everyone!

We were greeted at 7:55 pm on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, with the words, "We only serve drinks here." The waiter wasn't pleased when we arrived, even though there were five free tables. Once we were seated, he came back and said, "We only serve drinks here." When I asked about food, he said it was only for hotel guests and that we should go up the street to a pizzeria. That's just what you want after driving 300 km and needing a decent meal on your journey... I would not and will not be able to visit or recommend this restaurant again.

The food is very good, however the wait is long and the atmosphere isn't that nice. Still good though 😁

Hohmann stands for honesty and quality (irony intended). If I'd dipped my leather-soled shoe in the sauce, it would have tasted better than that soggy schnitzel. The sun was leagues better back then!

We've been to the HBH/Brauhaus several times now and have always been very satisfied. The pork knuckle is fantastic, but the other dishes are also delicious. The service is friendly, and we've always been served quickly. The beer 🍺, which is essential for a brewery like this, is very good. They have a variety of beers. We'll definitely be back soon, and I can highly recommend the brewery to anyone who enjoys good, traditional German food.

We managed to get a table here spontaneously today. The food and beer were great. Prices were okay. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Fulda.

I went to the breakfast buffet at Hohmanns Brauhaus Fulda and was pleasantly surprised. The selection was extensive, everything was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The hot dishes and fresh baked goods were particularly impressive. The staff was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Overall, a truly delicious and well-rounded breakfast that I can absolutely recommend.

Hello, I had breakfast and dinner at Hohmanns Brauhaus Fulda on December 8th, 2025, and was very satisfied both times. The breakfast buffet was fresh, varied, and beautifully presented, offering everything from hot dishes to fresh fruit and pastries. Dinner was also delicious: a good selection, fresh dishes, and a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit!

A modern brewery with a pleasant atmosphere

Everything was great, I would come back again. The food was tasty, the staff was quick. The price-performance ratio was okay.

The service was fine. But the atmosphere yesterday was anything but the intended festive mood. The interior design, at least in the basement, is rather unusual, but the combination of several large screens broadcasting Christmas kitsch par excellence, American Christmas decorations on the table, and constant Christmas carols playing even before Advent was almost unbearable. A little less would make the atmosphere much more pleasant.

Friendly service, delicious food, good beer

During our short vacation in Fulda, we discovered Hohmann's Brauhaus. The restaurant is located in the old town and was very busy. Although we didn't have a reservation, the friendly young waiter managed to get us a table. The brewery is quaint and cozy, and the menu is well-stocked. Since the beer is brewed in-house and the different varieties are described in detail on the menu, we were able to make the right choice. To our great delight, we found home-style dishes on the menu, such as beef goulash, knuckle of pork, and roast pork. My husband opted for the knuckle of pork with sauerkraut and dumplings, and I, for something a little less hearty, opted for the brewery noodles. Although it was packed, we received our freshly tapped, very drinkable beers and our food fairly promptly. The dishes were very appetizingly presented, and the portions were generous. The knuckle of pork was nice and crispy, and the sauerkraut and dumplings were as delicious as "mom's home-made." My brewery pasta, a cleverly filled ravioli with leaf spinach and tomatoes in a delicately balanced cream sauce, was a real treat for me. Naturally, the noise level in such a busy restaurant can sometimes be quite loud, but it was still acceptable for us. Everything was just right here, from the very friendly staff, excellent food and delicious beer, to the prices, which we consider reasonable. We'll be happy to come back and will even pre-order.

I arrived with my wife and son at 5 p.m. We wanted something to eat, but unfortunately, the waiter rudely turned us away, saying that the tables were reserved from 6 p.m. The restaurant was almost empty.

I wanted to watch the Frankfurt vs. Bayern Munich soccer match with my two children on Saturday evening, so we went to Hohmanns Brauhaus to watch the game. Unfortunately, we were treated very unfriendly. A waiter, without even saying hello, told us in an extremely rude and rude tone that we "could watch Sky, but not here." No explanation? If a reservation had been necessary, there were no seats available, etc., then you could say so in a normal tone. A truly disappointing experience—especially if you were looking forward to a cozy evening of soccer with the kids. Treating guests like that is simply inappropriate.

I think there is not such a good selection for teenagers

The food was excellent, but the wait was really long. We waited 30 minutes for drinks. Ordered a second drink long before the meal, and then canceled the dessert order. The argument was that they were so busy.

I'm happy to recommend Hohmamb's Brauhaus. The good prices and excellent service always win me over.

Fast and friendly service. More detailed advice on the beer on offer would have been nice. Unfortunately, when the drinks were finished, no one came to reorder. Among the standard dishes, there were two vegetarian and one vegan options. The vegan risotto was delicious and the portion was absolutely sufficient. The ambient sound was pleasant and not too loud. The restrooms are dated but clean.

Restaurant review: I visited the restaurant and would like to give my honest feedback: The knuckle of pork was okay, but the sauerkraut was unfortunately overcooked and the dumplings were very dry. The Béarnaise sauce was, in my opinion, significantly overseasoned, and the schnitzel was also not very flavorful. Overall, the meal was rather disappointing.

After leaving the hotel, after a scorchingly hot day, finding a traditional pub can only tempt you to sit outside in the little square and enjoy a good dinner. And so it was: generous portions, impeccably cooked, accompanied by excellent craft beer. Add to that the excellent value for money... it's a shame the lighting was a bit dim, preventing the sight from enjoying the same pleasure as the palate... oh, and the traditional digestifs were also excellent. Worth a visit.

A rustic brewery with excellent, hearty German cuisine. We stumbled upon it by chance and had a delicious meal. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, without being intrusive. The value for money was also good.

We stopped in Fulda for a night during our trip along the Fairy Tale Road, and while looking for a traditional place to eat, we chose this place. I have to say, we were happy with our choice 😃: we ate well, the goat cheese dish was truly excellent, in a cute and quiet little square. I was also pleasantly surprised by the price: my wife, my two children, aged 7 and 5, and I spent about €55 for four dishes and two radlers. Recommended!

A truly lovely restaurant with delicious food and good service. The prices are really reasonable, and card payments are accepted. This restaurant is definitely worth recommending, and I would go back again and again.

Hohmann's Brauhaus in Fulda isn't immediately recognizable from the outside. But the interior is quaint, typical of a brewery (no offense intended). The beers are consistently delicious and easy to drink. The food is equally so, and the portions are generous. The service is fast, and you don't have to wait long for the next beer, even when the place is busy. 👍🍻

We've been to the beer garden many times... everything was good, except one of the male waiters was a disaster, unfriendly, snippy and stressed. Saturday was the highlight. We had reserved a table inside for eight people (birthday meal). When we arrived, no one really knew about our reservation. Then the service... it was the unfriendly waiter who had already served us outside. When we had put down our drinks order and an older person hadn't decided yet, he said in all seriousness "complicated". He rattled off the order again at a rapid pace and then said in broken German "just so there are no mistakes afterwards" when we asked him about it and said that if we were complicated, we could go somewhere else. He then said he meant another table... unfriendly and he can't even lie. We were then served by a young, very friendly waiter. We're thinking about going there again... as a guest you feel "annoying and tiring".

We ate here on Saturday evening with a reservation during a short trip to Fulda. The service was courteous and friendly, the food was really delicious. The only negative point that should be mentioned is that football was shown on a large screen and the gentlemen at the next table documented every action extremely loudly on the screen, which we found to be very disturbing. If we were to eat here again, we would definitely ask for a seat far away from the television.

Auch die Organisation und Abläufe waren hervorragend – alles wirkte gut durchdacht und effizient. Ich kann das HBH uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und komme definitiv gerne wieder!

Wow... lecker und schön große Portionen. Ist man(n) heutzutage gar nicht mehr gewohnt. Toll ist auch das selbstgebraute Bier, Lecker und in vielen verschiedenen Geschmäckern. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

War im HBH Brauhaus Fulda und rundum begeistert. Das Essen war super – deftige, hausgemachte Küche, wie man sie in einem Brauhaus erwartet. Besonders das Braukutscher Schnitzel war auf den Punkt! Das Bier? Einfach top! Frisch, charaktervoll und definitiv mit Liebe gebraut. Die Atmosphäre war gemütlich und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Komme definitiv wieder – absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die gutes Bier und ehrliches Essen schätzen!

Two weeks ago on the weekend we were guests at Hohmann's Brauhaus via the adjacent Hotel Arte. We had two breakfasts and two dinners through the hotel, both locations were recommended to us. On the first evening we had the buffet according to the very unfriendly and arrogant waiter. Unfortunately, this was cold because no one thought it was necessary to put the lids of the warming containers back on. The food we had was simply bland and unseasoned. In addition, the tomatoes were in a bucket of broth and the carrots weren't even fresh, they came from a can. When we were paying, we asked a waitress whether we would have the buffet again tomorrow. Unfortunately she couldn't give us any information about this; we would have to clarify this with the hotel. It has to be said that the question alone was too much for this lady. The reception at the hotel couldn't give us any answers at first. I then asked if I had booked a meal package with the hotel, as no one knew who had to decide about our food. She then called the chef, who said it wouldn't be decided until the next day, depending on how many guests came. The receptionist then casually told us that a buffet can also be a 3-course menu. Such a statement is simply ridiculous, especially since our booking clearly stated: 1x buffet, 1x 3-course menu. We then let it go for now. I have to say that the breakfast was absolutely solid and good. There was nothing wrong with the food or the variety of the buffet. But when the cleaner carried the mop and garbage bags through the dining room both mornings, our lovely breakfast was over. On the second evening we were skeptical, but still entered the brewery and asked what was for dinner. Lo and behold, there was a menu for us with various 3-course menus. Unfortunately, things didn't change with our waiter or another older waitress in terms of friendliness. When ordering, my friend was yelled at because the lady couldn't write the order on her pad so quickly. After we listed everything one by one, we were surprised at how big our starter salads were. They were really big, but again they contained canned carrots. The main course came: I had bread roll with napkin dumplings, my friend had goat cheese. I have never received such a dry piece of meat in a restaurant. I was only able to cut through the dumplings with my knife after the seventh cut because they were burned. Unfortunately, the gravy was also so watered down. We're sure my friend's goat cheese had been warmed up in the microwave. For dessert we had Kaiserschmarrn. We thought we couldn't really do anything wrong. Unfortunately the plate arrived at our table completely smeared. To this day I still ask myself how a chef can let a plate leave the kitchen like that and how the service staff can do the same. There was another guest in the restaurant who found it necessary to smoke an e-cigarette. Sure, the staff can't do anything about it, but they should have stopped it. When I looked for the restroom and asked our waitress, I didn't even get an answer; she just kept walking. Unfortunately, we felt like second-class citizens all weekend in the evenings at Hohmann's Brauhaus. We have never experienced anything like this and can absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Actually, that's a shame because the brewery itself is very nicely decorated and apparently also has very tasty beers. However, a little music in the background would be nice too. Maybe someone in charge sees this review and feels motivated enough to improve something.

Checked in as hotel guests for dinner, reservations recommended at peak times (from 7:00 p.m.), service fast and friendly, sometimes even funny....Food came quickly and was very tasty, prices moderate, portion size so that you fill up well! A drawback for me personally... the place is quite big, when the place is full it gets pretty loud...

My cousin and I were walking through the city and spontaneously came across Hohmanns Brauhaus. The menu, which was visible from outside, sounded very promising, so we decided to eat there. Even though we didn't make a reservation, we were very friendly escorted to a table and the drinks and food were served shortly afterwards. There were very tasty drinks that I have never seen in any other restaurant before. I decided on a lye liver cheese burger with rösti sticks and garlic dip. The choice was very good! The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very cozy and nice. I would definitely eat there again.

We went on a city tour and at the end we booked a beer tasting with them. The so-called beer tasting consisted of a very unsympathetic waitress putting glasses in front of our noses without comment. We spent our Christmas party in the basement bar of the brewery. There's nothing wrong with it. All around 45 people were able to eat almost at the same time and the service was consistently on point. The choice of location for the next Christmas party has now been decided again. 😊👍

An order was received with an eye roll or ignorance. After eating we were only served by active request. Payment was made like in prison by standing at the counter. After paying, you should move on to let the next person go ahead to pay. There are enough good restaurants in Fulda, I'd rather go there
