I’ve been here lots of times over many years visiting from Scotland and always had a good experience. Food is excellent - Haxn was huge! Plenty of top beers and usually some live music. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, rustic, historic restaurant with a partly covered, beautiful beer garden. Service was extremely attentive, courteous and friendly. The menu leaves nothing to be desired. From traditional German and regional dishes, various salads and a selection of different vegetarian dishes, there is definitely something for everyone. It's really worth a visit and all at reasonable prices.

Worst chicken ever! My dumplings were okay... Waiters are taciturn and you had different food, food was simply put there without a word. Not recommended!

Durchaus eine urige Gaststätte mit Biergartenflair.Schnörkellos und zackig bekommt man seinen Platz zugewiesen,sogar wenn man Glück hat ohne vorherige Reservierung.Es geht laut zu ,aber das ist ja gerade das besondere an so einem Wirtshaus.Das Bier ist köstlich,die Speisekarte ist umfangreich.Wir hatten alle ein Essen mit Bratkartoffeln gewählt,was wir dann auf dem Teller vorfanden waren kleine Kartoffeln mit Schale , irgendwie vorgegart ohne jegliche Röstaromen,einer Diätküche würdig. Trotzdem,alles in allem OK ,wenn man diese Art Gastronomie mag.

Great service, even though it was really busy that day, the waiter was very friendly and joking. Although the food came very quickly, we were concerned about whether it would taste good or whether it would be fresh because it came so quickly. The food was very tasty. If I'm in Aschaffenburg and feel like going to a pub/beer garden, I'd love to come back. Absolute recommendation 😃

Nice beer restaurant with very nice forest view.

The Schäufele was quite hard, the meat didn't fall apart as you would expect. Crust OK, the dumplings are strangely seasoned and the sauce is very neutral and thick, slimy.

Beautiful, quiet beer garden located in the heart of Aschaffenburg. Most of the seats are in the shade of the old trees, there are tables for 2-4 people but also cozy beer table sets with backrests. The service is attentive, friendly and quick. There is a large selection of dishes, from pretzels to pizza to roast pork or even dessert. The prices are measured. We'd love to come back.

Today we went to the beer garden in Schöntal Park for the first time in a long time. The atmosphere is very pleasant, in the middle of the park, what more could you want with this beautiful weather! The service was also very good, quick and friendly. Now I have to come to dinner, well, I decided on a “house specialty”, the vegetarian tarte flambée. Unfortunately I had the feeling that the taste of this tarte flambée was lost somewhere on the way to me?? He didn't have any, after I had the pepper from the next table it tasted like pepper. I don't often eat vegetarian food and I wonder, do these dishes never have any taste or was something forgotten? As a driver, I chose the passion fruit spritzer. Unfortunately, I have to say here too, I had the feeling that this spritzer had been diluted again because it didn't taste like anything, only the color was yellow. Since I didn't eat well or drink well, I unfortunately can't give a star for the food and can only give it two stars despite the very good service and the very good location. I was able to dispel the suspicion that my taste buds were no longer responding with an ice cream from Frida's ice cream, because it was super delicious!

wir wurden super freundlich empfangen & konnten uns einen platz aussuchen. der sehr nette kellner war ruck zuck da und das gute weizenbier lies nicht lange auf sich warten. unser essen (schäufele / tartar / flammkuchen) war super lecker. ein toller abend bei einem tollen team!

Pretty well attended when the weather is nice. The food is very good, although the prices have increased a bit - but that's okay because the quality is good. No problem even in bad weather, as you can also eat comfortably inside.

Today we had sauerbraten and red cabbage and dumplings, zander with dip and potatoes and salad for lunch in the beer garden. Tasty and very attractively served. Despite the constant rain, we sat outside under the pavilion. Nice service, good service, very attentive! Keep it up! Dog was welcome 👍 would be happy again! It was my first time ordering a Bavarian dish here. Schäufele. Coleslaw, dumplings and meat was delicious. However, the dish was served with a very sticky, thick sauce. Unfortunately, this led to the bad rating. A pity. Next time I'll stick with tarte flambée and salad again.

Unser erster Besuch im Hofgarten war sehr gut. Überaus freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienungen. Kaum Wartezeit und es wurde nachgefragt. Weisswürste mit Brezel und gebackener Ziegenkäse sehr gut. Salat appetitlich und gutes Dressing. Waren aufgrund schlechter Bewertungen geneigt nicht hinzugehen. Nach unseren Erfahrungen nicht nachvollziehbar. Wir jedenfalls jederzeit wieder.

11:45 Monday - Potato salad and meatball: Off... on the daily menu?! Schnitzel simply slapped onto the plate, nothing 'Viennese style' - more like canteen style. Salads were good, loakel dishes (green sauce etc.) were ok. Service could have been a little more attentive.

Such a beautiful restaurant in the middle of Aschaffenburg, rustic, typically Bavarian, could also be in Munich. There's a nice atmosphere inside and out, service is quick, and the menu covers pretty much all tastes. My favorite are the cheese spaetzle. Delicious beers, such as Augustiner Hell and various Schlappeseppel beers. Note that since Corona, the "world's best" wheat beer from Augustiner is no longer on offer, which I very much regret. I would even be willing to pay a few cents more. Otherwise, always happy to come back. 100% recommendation.

We had stopped in for lunch. The pork knuckle was very crispy and plentiful. Add a freshly tapped beer and lunch was saved. The tarte flambée is also highly recommended. The current European Championship games can be followed live there on several TV devices the service is friendly and quick.

Quaint Bavarian inn like in the 60s, is often visited by locals, we will definitely come back.

The Hofgarten impresses with its location. The associated beer garden invites you to linger longer. Several types of beer, as well as other drinks, are available here. The delicious, home-style dishes can be found on the menu. I highly recommend it.

One of the best beer gardens and inns in Aschaffenburg. If not the best. Unfortunately, you haven't been able to go to Schlappeseppel for many years because of the humble fist beer. The Schlapeseppelbier and the Augustiner in the Hofgarten are a dream!!!

A beautiful place in a city park. Unfortunately, there are crowds there on a sunny day. The staff seat strangers at tables, which is quite awkward. We waited a very long time to place the order, we waited about 15 minutes for the drinks themselves. Massive and not very atmospheric.

Great cuisine with Bavarian specialties but also Hessian dishes... Aschaffenburg is not Bavaria but Franconia and that's a good thing.

A lovely beer garden in a great location. Points deducted for the very unfriendly usher, who not only scared us away, but also all the guests who came afterwards from free tables (about 80%) that were not near the kitchen. Everyone should sit down somewhere (okay, if all tables are occupied). When some guests sat down at the free tables anyway, he slammed and locked the gate at the entrance. Very ugly and not good for sales

Well-maintained restaurant with a beautiful beer garden right on the edge of the park. Fast service and good quality of food (asparagus schnitzel and pork knuckle). The Augustiner Bräu for 9€ a measure is just about affordable.

An absolute must for us on every trip to Aschaffenburg for years. Idyllically located in the middle of a park, the beer garden is particularly worth a visit. A pleasure for all the senses in spring and summer. This time my horseradish sauce for the Tafelspitz was a bit too weak for me, hence the small point deduction. Otherwise great.

The usher in the beer garden doesn't seem very friendly. Just pack people together. Without asking the guests who are already seated. The beer garden is otherwise fine. The food is recommended.

Maybe it was just a bad day but it just didn't work out. Onion roast was too well done, the waiter was constantly there asking who had not ordered food and where... and well, it just wasn't meant to be. Well, the ambience is obviously nice, but if the food isn't right then it won't help that the evening will be good. Maybe better next time...?!? I'll definitely try it again at some point.

Normally I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. But due to current circumstances, I have to deduct 2. It's a very nice restaurant with a great beer garden. The food is always very good. There are Augustiners on tap. But in the fall and winter season, places are limited. And almost always reserved until the last seat. And that doesn't work at all. Therefore 2 stars deducted. 6/19/21 Today it was incredibly crowded. But the atmosphere for football was absolutely great. The food is still great during the pandemic and no reservations possible at the moment. 27.2.22 currently without reservation. There is always space for 2-3 people. The food was also very tasty as always. The waitresses are always very nice and friendly.
