I've eaten here twice now during my stay at the Best Western Hotel Ostertor, and I was completely satisfied both times. Super friendly staff, delicious food, and good beer. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in Bavaria. Highly recommended!

We had dinner at the Hofbräu, a restaurant with a typical Bavarian flair and Bavarian delicacies. The staff is friendly and attentive. After ordering, we had to wait a long time for our food, even though the restaurant was only half full. Unfortunately, the food wasn't great. We were consistently served lukewarm dishes; it seemed like the dishes had just been warmed up and weren't freshly prepared. Even after we returned a dish and asked for it to be freshly prepared and warmed, only lukewarm food arrived at our table. This made a return visit to the restaurant unnecessary for us.

Super delicious food. We were there with a group. Nicole, the server, immediately grasped and resolved every situation. As soon as our group was larger than expected, a table was pushed in. A special request was creatively accommodated.

The food we ordered was plentiful, and the knuckle of pork was excellently cooked. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were almost soggy, which is why I'm deducting a star. You immediately feel welcome. The food is consistently good: delicious, fresh, and hearty – exactly what you would expect from a Hofbräuhaus. I've never been disappointed. I always enjoy coming here and look forward to my visit every time. I definitely recommend it!

The food and drinks were quite overpriced. You wouldn't get full for €20.

The service was always attentive, but the food wasn't what we expected. The dumplings and sauce weren't fresh, but rather convenience food, which we found really disappointing! Obazda was delicious, too little for the price, but the pretzels were freshly reheated (irony off). More show than substance!!! And the welcome from the kitchen was the biggest joke: three slices of bread and a knob of butter...

It's been two months since my visit, but I remember the excellent service and the very friendly and attentive staff—I've rarely experienced anything like it. The restaurant was very busy, but the wait for the food was still perfectly acceptable. The food was well-tempered and tasty, and the beer was drinkable.

From now on, this is our favorite restaurant in Bad Salzuflen. A fantastic atmosphere. The staff are truly outstanding. There must be a magician working in the kitchen. The food is absolutely fantastic. There's nothing to complain about here.

Very, very friendly service, nothing to complain about. The food was rather below average. The sauce was like pudding (100% from a package), the sauerkraut was far too salty, the fried potatoes were simply tasteless and very greasy. The pork knuckle wasn't crispy. We've had better Wiener schnitzel. Sorry, it could be much better.

We always enjoy coming here for a delicious veal Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes and cranberry jam, along with a fresh salad on the side. It's always a treat! And the portions are sure to fill you up! The service is always prompt and very friendly. You feel very comfortable among the dirndls and lederhosen worn by the waiters. The desserts, like the tiramisu in our case, are a dream, topped with fruit. Highly recommended, as the value for money is also excellent. Thank you, and see you next time!

Very good Bavarian cuisine, top service, very nice ambience

I ordered a rump steak, and after a really long wait of about 45 minutes, the food finally arrived. The meat was neither medium nor fully cooked, as the center was still cold. After I sent it back, the same piece came again, this time cooked longer, but with a smell. One can only assume that the meat had been left outside unrefrigerated all day after thawing, or had been thawed and frozen several times. It was inedible. I only ate the salt and fries. I didn't touch the meat and asked the waitress to remove the steak from the bill. It was clearly evident that the waitress was uncomfortable with the whole thing, but according to the manager, she was only allowed to give me a 10 percent discount on the menu because I ate the side dishes. In summary, the beer is very good. The food is not recommended. The owner didn't have a chef at the time and was cooking himself. The service was understaffed and couldn't keep up with orders. But whenever he was at the table, he was always friendly and competent. Mistakes on the part of the kitchen or management weren't acknowledged, and there wasn't even an apology. Mistakes happen, but you have to own up to them and at least accommodate the customer. Bad food, ruined evening because you were annoyed by the owner's treatment and reaction.

Takes us back to home...😉 Hofbräu is simply great. Great ambience, delicious food, a cult restaurant.

This was our second time there, and we can only say the food was mediocre. We were persistently reminded to reorder drinks. The food wasn't hot and wasn't well-seasoned. The price was unreasonably high. We won't be visiting this restaurant again or recommending it to anyone. 👎

Excellent value for money, I can only recommend it, as the food is truly delicious. Needless to say, the cleanliness is simply brilliant. As I said, anyone in Bad Salzuflen should definitely stop by here; it's almost a must. The staff who served us can only be praised. A really great visit to the restaurant! We called in advance and asked whether dogs were allowed, and the answer was of course. Care was also taken to ensure that the dog had space to lie down. A restaurant where allergies are not taken seriously. Yesterday I ate there with my daughter. I told the waiter that she had a lactose allergy and could they please accommodate that. I asked what dish would be safe for her. I explained that lactose allergy means: no milk, no butter, no cream - i.e. nothing with dairy products. The waitress said: "Most of our dishes are lactose-free. But if you choose something, I'll ask the kitchen to be on the safe side." We chose a dish. The waitress came back and said it was perfectly safe. Seven minutes after ordering, the dish was on the table. As soon as I saw it, I should have followed my gut feeling. But I trusted the chefs... I asked the girl again if it was safe and she said, "For sure." Our drinks arrived. I asked another girl for a lactose-free dressing salad as a side dish. She spoke to the kitchen and said it was possible. After 50 minutes the side salad arrived. We had long since finished eating and my daughter was already not feeling well. I declined the salad because it took almost an hour to prepare. The waitress said, "I'll pack it for you as a doggy bag. It's up to you. You ordered the side dish later than the main course - all other orders come first. Plus, it wasn't an ordinary dressing, but a special one - honey vinaigrette." After leaving the restaurant, my daughter became increasingly worse. She developed severe shortness of breath and a severe rash. She felt very sick. In total, the allergic attack lasted about three hours, and it wasn't until the next morning that all the swelling disappeared. The taste of the food was okay – the food was tasty. I have nothing wrong with that. But the way allergies were handled - the lying, the not taking them seriously - to literally put a person in danger: That's absolutely not possible. Just a shame.

I'll start with the positive things: The service is good, nice and attentive. You don't sit in front of an empty glass. Top. I can't judge whether the ambience corresponds to a Bavarian tavern, as I've never been to a tavern in Bavaria. I really liked it. The food also tasted good, but - if I classify it correctly - was completely convenience: fried chicken, wedges and coleslaw. In my opinion this works better. But what was a total no-go for me was that ketchup, mayo and mustard came to the table in mini cardboard bowls (some with plastic lids)! Wedge into the mayo > cardboard bowl is attached. Wedge on the fork, knife in the mayo > cardboard bowl hangs on it. That doesn't work at all! This got on my nerves so much that I unfortunately have to deduct two stars. But something forgiving at the end: I had the horseradish soup from the daily menu. That was a blast!
