You will recognize them by their spaetzle... the true masters of the kitchen. And the friendly hosts smile...

We were here for the first time, but definitely not the last! The journey to the idyllic room with a spectacular view alone is worth the trip. This is only surpassed by the charm of the over 500 year old and well-maintained room. Not to mention the consistently honest and tasty traditional cuisine and the extremely warm service. We are rarely so enthusiastic and are already looking forward to the next time! A big thank you to the operators

A friend and I stayed a few days at Fehrenbacherhof (Inn) which was more remote than we expected, so we were elated to walk through the woods and locate this rustic gem of a restaurant. Cozy, clean and delicious, it became our go-to dinner. The beers were cold, the owner was warm & charming (Bella, too!) -- and we took away fine memories! She even shared her special treat of HONEY cognac after dinner, which was truly fabulous. I SO hope to return with my husband one day! Thank you!!

We were last Sunday evening after previous tel. Reservation for two here! And what can I say, it was the best choice (in advance) to stop here on our Black Forest vacation! EVERYTHING great! The food is varied, fresh and delicious, the two waitresses are unobtrusive and very friendly and the ambience is wonderful! Toilets clean, there is absolutely nothing to complain about! It was actually so nice that I forgot to take photos of the food! We had homemade Maultaschen with potato salad, colorful garnishes and fried bread dumpling slices in mushroom cream sauce! First, have a mixed salad together! Everything came quickly! Really full marks from us, we'll be happy to come back

We discovered the idyllic and quiet Hinterholz Stube on a motorcycle tour last year and were so happy with the service and the delicious home-made food that we came again this year with a few more people, as promised. A delicious evening meal with traditional German options. We went for the Pork Schnitzel with homemade gravy and Spätzle. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking is available at the side of the road. The restaurant itself is rustic and has a great view of the surrounding landscape. It was very relaxing and enjoyable to eat here.

The host's demeanor cannot be called friendliness. The behavior is below the belt. You also get the feeling that the employees are being oppressed by him. The friendly “welcome” (without a good day “but you knew it won’t open for me until the 12th!”) is also part of a visit to a restaurant, as is the service. This one was good. The food was plentiful and very tasty. However, I have to think about whether to visit again based on the behavior of the host. The incident described above was not the only one during the short stay...

Very nice and courteous staff. Great food and very appealing atmosphere. Were there today with the dogs and made reservations and ordered food before the hike. First there was water for the dogs. 👍

We went there twice during our vacation week. It is classic home cooking that is offered at a fair (actually even cheap) price. If you are in the area you should definitely go and dine there.

The store is awesome! Somewhere in the middle of nowhere with a feel-good atmosphere. The Hinterholz-Stube is worth a trip. The ambience is awesome. You think you are on an alpine pasture at 2000 meters. We drank coffee and enjoyed a piece of rhubarb cake. Both perfect. Plus the atmosphere of a Tyrolean alpine hut. Small card that leaves nothing to be desired. Top price-performance ratio. Guys, check this out, it's definitely worth it!!!

Another perfect start to your holiday. The day we arrived here to eat and again we weren't disappointed. Extremely warm welcome, wonderful chat, very good recommendations. The Sunday roast is a dream and it's like coming home. Always my pleasure. You can enjoy your vacation here. The cheese spatzle and the schnitzel are also a dream.

Access on a single-lane road was problem-free. Very quiet, remote location, ideal for hiking. Friendly and accommodating hosts. Food very good. Portion size can be adjusted upon request.

Regarding the comment from May 9, 2024: It would be good if comments were written correctly linguistically, grammatically and overall. Then the commentator apparently overlooks the increasing closure of restaurants. He should rather be happy that there are still good restaurants and recognize that innkeepers also need relaxation. And anyone who is able to look up the opening times online has an advantage! 😉 Complaining is always easier than doing something better yourself!!! I personally had very good experiences with the ambience and quality of the food at Hinterholzstube! I can only warmly recommend the Hinterholzstube!

A restaurant that is definitely worth the detour. The meal is good and the service pleasant. Nius had typical dishes and we were not disappointed. A farm inn setting and cuisine prepared on site. A good moment of relaxation. Be careful, they don't take credit cards In terms of price, rather affordable: 1 shared starter for 4, 4 dishes, 1 glass of wine, a bottle of water, a glass of fruit juice (40cl) for 96€. I'll give you photos of the dishes.

Wonderful, remote hiking destination (there is also a car connection) on an open plateau. Fresh beer and a small but fine menu with nice service.

An authentic, friendly family business. We were skeptical at first because of the long journey. But it was worth it! Wild goulash and beef cheeks were simply excellent. Serve with spaetzle garnished with breadcrumbs in butter. The taste of my childhood! We are looking forward to the next time!!!

Totally beautiful and relaxed place, definitely visit! I only had something to drink, so unfortunately I can't comment on the food. But the website for the menu was apparently made by an agency with a surveillance fetish. You can't click away so many tracking cookies. Maybe it's best to change agencies or, if necessary, just put a PDF file somewhere? This only upsets people who, like me, actually just want to find out more.

Simply great. Great food. Friendly innkeepers. Very cozy. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back...

We try very hard and if you have allergies, it's best to let us know by phone beforehand when reserving a table, then the chef will come up with something that fits everything, tastes good and looks good.

Very nice hosts, delicious food (we had game) and a nice atmosphere. If you go on a hike nearby, you should fortify yourself there. It's certainly very beautiful there even in winter and the small road there is cleared of snow (according to the nice landlady 😇). We recommend!!!

Essen, Team und Ambiente laden zum Verweilen ein. Im Sommer kann man hier eine gigantische Aussicht auf der Terrasse genießen. Im Winter wärmt die Hinterholzstube nach einer Wanderung. Ganzjährig eine klare Empfehlung.

Ein sehr ruhiges Plätzchen mitten im Wald! Wir waren mit dem Wohnmobil dort und habe dort auch übernachtet! Der Weg dorthin hat uns auf der schmalen Straße einige Schweißperlen gekostet, wurden aber mit einem herrlichen Essen belohnt! Die Betreiber erzählten mir, dass sie sich damit einen Traum erfüllt haben, was man regelrecht merkt! Die liebevoll gestaltete Deko und für mich unübersehbare kleine Highlights und Akzente! Sehr gemütliches Lokal mit leckerem Essen und sehr freundliche, schnelle und kompetente Wirtin. Wir haben zwei Tage im Womo dort verbracht. Das Lokal liegt sehr idyllisch am Wald und lädt ein für nette Wanderungen mit anschließender Einkehr.

...sehr uriges Ambiente und traumhafte Lage. Typische Gerichte der Region. Hier atmet man Schwarzwald pur. Leider keine Kartenzahlung. Etwas hinterwäldlerisch, muss man aber respektieren.

Formidable moment passé dans ce Stube. Cuisine généreuse et délicieuse, propriétaires aux petits soins avec leurs invités. Bravo ! Ne prend pas la carte bancaire. Pour le plat principal, fermeture de la cuisine vers 19h45. Il faut venir tôt. Mais vaut le détour.

Kleiner "Geheimtipp" in toller Lage.

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Innen und außen. Bedienung ist freundlich. Die Schnitzel aus dem Schweinerücken waren leider sehr trocken. Die Bratensauce zeigt wenig Geschmack.

Tolle Gastwirtschaft. Super nette Gastgeber, mega gutes Essen, schönes gemütliches Ambiente Holzer- Schnitte wärmstens empfohlen. Bitte macht weiter so.

War letzte Woche das erste Mal da auf Empfehlung. Von der Reservierung bis zum Bezahlen alles super. Mega nette Bedienung, die auch an den Vierbeiner denkt. Es wurde direkt Wasser angeboten und gesagt der Hund muss nicht auf dem Boden liegen. Da geht einem doch das Herz auf. Eine Wirtschaft bei der jeder willkommen ist auch Hunde ;). Das Ambiente Rustikal, schön und dennoch geschmackvoll und passend in diese Gegend. Man kann drinnen und draußen essen. Die Karte ist übersichtlich aber mehr als ausreichend. Das Essen kam super schnell und war sehr lecker. Preis-Leistung stimmt. Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam super nett und zuvorkommend. Jederzeit ein Besuch wert

Wir waren heute durch Zufall dort gelandet und bereuen es auf keinen Fall. Obwohl die Küche eigentlich schon zu gehabt hat durften wir noch bestellen. Der Service war einfach toll. Essen war super lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Heute waren wir nach einer Wanderung in der Hinterholzstube einkehren. Wir fühlten uns pudelwohl in einem wunderschönen Ambiente, bei überaus leckerem Essen und einem sehr freundlichen und engagierten Service! Jederzeit wieder!

Sehr schön idyllisch auf einer An Höhe gelegen. Sehr nette Wirtin. Super schmackhaftes ,frisch zubereitetes Essen. Maultaschen ein Traum mit 6erlei verschiedenen Salaten. Alleine der Kartoffelsalat ein absoluter Traum. Dessert zum Abschluss sehr lecker. Wir kommen wieder, geniessen das Essen und die ruhige Natur.

Sehr ruhig gelegen und eie tolle Athmosphäre. Wir hatten nur Salat aber der war sehr lecker und auch frisch. Einen sehr schönen aussen Bereich zum sitzen.
