Gasthof Sonne in Schiltach

It's not a Hilton, but it's OK for an inn, I can only recommend it!

We ate in the restaurant. The menu is small but nice, there is something for everyone. The burgers are very good and the price-performance ratio is right. Always happy.

Delicious food in a simple atmosphere. The goulash was very tender and the onion roast was very tasty. Both dishes were accompanied by delicious homemade spaetzle. The service was attentive and quick.

This is a great hotel and restaurant. We stayed one night in the romantic room which faced the street. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a nice feel about it. I thought it was well priced as well. We ate dinner on the outside terrace which had a great atmosphere. The food was great and well sized. The beer was local and also good. The breakfast was included and was also good. Andrew, the host, was very polite and super helpful. His English is better than he thinks and he also speaks some French as well as obviously German. Overall a great place to stay that's in a good central location.

Very good food and friendly staff. The schnitzel and burger are amazing and the staff and service are on point. I highly recommend eating here.

Soy clienta habitual, y hoy al llegar me he encontrado a todo el personal con mascarilla puesta, en pleno agosto, el dueño les obligó a ponérsela, siendo esto ilegal. Desde luego que mientras sigan llevando la mascarilla, no me verán por allí, patético, un abuso de poder

2 nætters ophold på hyggelige værelser, helt som forventet på et historisk overnatningssted midt på markedspladsen i byen. Fin morgenmads buffet og ok udvalg. Er ikke for bevægelseshæmmede, mange trapper inde og brosten og hældninger udendørs.

Hemos ido de visita a la selva negra y hemos tenido la suerte de encontrar este sitio. Desde el primer minuto, la persona que nos ha atendido ha sido súper maja. Íbamos con un carrito de mi hija y nos ha abierto una zona en la parte inferior donde lo hemos dejado. Una vez arriba, súper atentos, hablan inglés y se puede pagar con tarjeta (esto último es bueno que lo preguntéis en Alemania). La comida muy correcta y buena. Hemos comido por 72€ los 2+1. Ha merecido la pena la experiencia, volveremos en verano, porque según el camarero es cuando la zona está más viva.

Sitio ideal para probar la típica comida de alemana. El camarero súper simpático, intenta ayudarte y te recomienda en todo momento. Nos dejaron comer dentro con nuestra perrita sin ningún problema. Comida de 10 y servicio de 10. Recomendable 100%

Io sinceramente non ho parole. Questo albergo è un insulto alla dignita ! Prenotato con 2 mesi di anticipo non ci danno alcun tipo di istruzione per quanto riguarda i metodi per entrare(nessuno alla “reception” apri la porta e a seconda della lista prendi la chiave della camera) Camera puzzolente con doccia sporca! Letto rumoroso e fastidioso!sporco a più non posso! Presi e scappati via! Questo abominio non so come possa essere recensito bene dalla gente… Diffidate dalle recensioni ……..

Nachdem ich die Bewertung hier gelesen habe, haben wir das Restaurant probiert. Die besten Spätzle die ich je gegessen habe! Alles ist dort sehr köstlich eine klare Empfehlung!!!

We were driving through and arrived in the lovely village of Schiltach. The Sonne restaurant serves an amazing rose duck and risotto. The burger and Schnitzel were also good. Friendly staff, clean and well maintained interior.

Un restaurant très bien placé sur cette place du marché , calme le soir, pas de voiture ou presque . Personnel très aimables et menu satisfaisant . A recommander vivemen. C'est la femme du patron qui sert est très sympathique au demeurant

After a friendly welcome, we have seated on the outside terrace. We ordered a beefsteak and porc medaillons. The beefsteak came swimming in a kind of mushroom soup, as well the French fries were swimming in there. Sauce should accompany food, your food should not been fished out of the what should be a sauce. The porc filets were not soft as they should be. We were really hungry and didn’t mind looking for a better place. But I would recommend you to walk to a better place if you have any energy left!

Die Lage des Gasthof Sonne,direkt am Marktplatz ist natürlich hervorragend und ein Abend auf der kleinen Terrasse, zwischen alten Fachwerkhäusern am plätschernden Brunnen ist herrlich entspannend. Der Betreiber des Gasthofes, sowie das gesamte Servicepersonal sind sehr sympathisch und aufmerksam, die angebotenen Speisen reichen vom reichlich belegten Burger, über Klassiker wie Zwiebelrostbraten, bis zum ungarischen Gulasch. Alle Gerichte waren sehr gut zubereitet und von hoher Qualität.

Wir haben auf unserer Radtour im Gasthof Sonne gespeist und genächtigt. Zum Abendessen haben wir Burger gegessen, die waren beide sehr lecker. Geschlafen haben wir auch gut. Das Frühstück am Morgen war nicht zufriedenstellend. Wir haben günstige Aufbackbrötchen bekommen und auch der Brotbelag wirkte sehr billig. Für ein Frühstück, welches mit 8€ pro Person berechnet wird, sind wir nicht auf unsere Kosten gekommen. Das fanden wir sehr schade. Trotz der Corona Situation sind wir der Meinung verschiedene Brote oder Brötchen erhalten zu können.

Das Restaurant Gasthof Sonne hatte zum Ende 2019 einen Wechsel beim Betreiber des Hauses. Daher sind aus meiner Sicht die Bewertungen bis dahin nicht aktuell heran zu ziehen. Zunächst das positive : der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Unsere, nach dem Essen geäußerte Kritik wurde sachlich aufgenommen und als Entschädigung ein Schnaps und ein Espresso serviert. Wir hatten als Vorspeise einen Garnelensalat bestellt. Wir bekamen einen gemischten grünen Salat mit gebratenen Garnelen. Unsere Erwartung war da nicht ganz getroffen. Zudem war der gesamte Salat einschließlich der Garnelen zu stark gesalzen. Was auch auf alle folgenden Gerichte zutraf. Die als Hauptgang bestellten Hähnchen Spieße waren so durchgebraten und teilweise angebrannt, dass sie nicht geniesbar waren. Die SchweineLendchen in Rahmsoße waren ebenfalls totgebraten und stark salzig. Wie eingangs erwähnt, die offene und freundliche Art sich der Kritik zu stellen fanden wir sehr positiv. Ich denke das Restaurant har potential zu mehr. Muss sich allerdings auch deutlich steigern.

After 3 days in the Black Forest, this was our best meal out of other places in Triberg, Titisee, and Freiburg. Excellent and friendly service and delicious food. On top of that, located in the prettiest town in the Black Forest!

Recently stayed here. Beautiful little village- guest house great - friendly staff - good continental breakfast - comfortable rooms. Worth a visit .

Nice place to drink a beer and eat traditional meal! I try deer ragout and was excellent!! I strongly recommend to schiltach visitors.

Everything was very good in this restaurant, the meal, the service, the environment... As every restaurant we visited in Germany, the quantity of food was enough to fill forever. We liked the restaurant, enjoyed our meal and the placement.

This provides good quality local food for a reasonable price. Sit outside and look at the market place.

Went to the Gasthaus Sonne, and it was quite a nice little find. We popped in by chance on a rainy Saturday and was pleasantly surprised that at 13:49 we were welcomed and able to have a Schwäbisch meal. One of us had linsen with Spätzle and, the other had Käsespätzle, both home made and just perfect. It really is worth a pop in if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed.

A very good restaurant with homemade dishes.We ate Schnitzel and Zwiebelrostbraten and both were delicious. The wine was also good. The owners were polite and friendly.

The menu here is a little limited, but does have some German staples and they are done well enough. The location is outstanding for people watching, though you are likely to have to accept people smoking outside.

My place in Schiltach! Great atmosphere, great staff, superb menu. I stay here nearly every month for a few nights and always enjoy the stay. In fact I am having friends there, which is not usual in that context. Highly recommended also because the cost is very reasonable.

A typically German menu with home cooked food that was well presented and very enjoyable, also the beer . The dining room on the first floor allows a view of the square.

the food was lovely, we had pork with a very good sauce, and we had the spinach and cheese spätzle (or something like that), plus a salad, a big beer, two glasses of wine and two coffees for 38 euros. Service was great, we were served by a very professional, helpful and friendly Italian waiter. we would repeat for sure!

In the south-western corner of Germany known as the Schwarzwald or Black Forest is Shiltach, a picture-postcard pretty small town with a river running through the middle that has retained many of its old half-timbered houses, some dating back to the sixteenth century. One of its most charming buildings is the Gasthaus Sonne on the market square. My wife and son and I were looking for dinner after 21:00 when the Sonne’s kitchen had officially closed. However to our relief they were very welcoming, there was no problem accommodating us and the service throughout was friendly and smiling in a completely unforced manner. To start with the only negative point, my wife found her wurstsalat (German pork sausage with salad) rather uninspiring, though there was certainly a good plate of it. The rest of the dinner was very good. I had the sonnenteller, which comprised pork medallions with spaeztle (a type of noodle found in southern German speaking areas made with eggs, flour and salt), potato croquettes and mixed vegetables. My son had the katzagschroi (a beef dish with potatoes) which he found excellent. For dessert I had the apfelkuchen (apple cake) that is ubiquitous in southern Germany with walnut ice cream and my son had a large vanilla ice cream with a can of heated raspberries on the side. I had a beer, my wife had a coffee and my son had a glass of white Riesling wine from another pretty local town, Gengenbach. The bill came to a reasonable €55.80 and we would certainly go back there.

The menu has a fair priced and good selection of the local fare, the service is friendly and the food is above average. Weather permitting you can sit outside and enjoy the market place.
