I stumbled across Herr Fröhlich on Google and haven't regretted it for a second. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and perfectly priced 😊. The staff is friendly and the premises are stylishly furnished. The women's restroom was so clean you could sleep in it. Highly recommended 🙂👍

Very great restaurant, we go there regularly and are always impressed.

We spontaneously stopped by "Herr Fröhlich" while exploring the campsite and were lucky to get a free table. On Wednesdays, they offer discounted schnitzel dishes; we had the regular and the Hawaiian, with fries and potato wedges. Both the schnitzel and the side dishes were delicious. I had expected the potato wedges to be a convenience item, but they were fresh. The fries were still hot and crispy even after 5 minutes on the plate, something we've rarely experienced. The highlight for us, however, was the salad dressing, seasoned just right; we would need the exact recipe for that one :-) During our vacation, we visited a second time; that evening, there was also a larger group of 35 people there. The wait staff immediately recommended that we place our order ahead of the group due to the wait, which we thought was great. The food that evening was again excellent, and the service was always attentive, friendly, and well-structured. We will definitely come back, but only if the "sewing machine table" is free :-)

We were at Mr. Fröhlich's 😁 camping meeting with a group of 18 people. The service was courteous and always at the table. All dishes were served one after the other. Everyone was extremely satisfied with the portions and the taste. It wasn't our first time eating there... and certainly won't be the last. 👍

We visited Kirchzarten twice this year and were absolutely thrilled with the service, the food, and the friendliness of the restaurant "Herr Fröhlich" - full marks in all areas.

You have to insist if you want a specific wine, otherwise they'll bring you the most expensive one. Don't ask, and even if you return it, they'll still charge you for it. When paying, you have to insist on seeing how much you've consumed before paying, and also insist if you want a receipt. It's impossible to pay without leaving a tip. The meal itself: tasteless suckling pig, cheap pre-made sauce, and sticky, pasty dumplings. The salad, ordered separately, was still the best part. Overall, it's best to avoid eating there. I had a very good memory, but it was 10 years ago.

Mr. Fröhlich makes you happy. The food is super delicious. We went there several times. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. We wish there were more of them. The ambiance inside and out is just perfect. Dogs are also very welcome. Great 👍

This is my first bad review! The service, with its East German accent, was unfriendly! The sizzling meat was flabby and overcooked, and changing the side order to cheese spaetzle costs a whopping €10 extra! It says so on the menu, okay, but with that surcharge, I expect the wait staff to ask us if we really want it that way! Unfortunately, we didn't read it until the end. The cheese spaetzle were sour and not even homemade, but rather pasta-shaped! The price/performance ratio is absolutely not right here!

We spontaneously stopped by Fröhlich for dinner on a Monday evening. The food was absolutely delicious (baked herder's cheese, sizzling beef with Brägele (traditional German sausage), and Jägerschnitzel), the portions were generous, and the service was super friendly. Sitting in the beer garden in this weather is a dream.

We're on our camping holiday (June 16, 2025) and, at the end of our stay, we visited the restaurant "Herr Fröhlich." The service was very pleasant and friendly. The dishes were good and generously sized. The value for money was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. Even when it was full, the staff always smiled. That's how it should be, and it's a pleasure to go there. Keep it up...

Highly recommended, this top-notch restaurant. We were there over Pentecost. Excellent service, with very friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent, with generous portions and good value for money.

The schnitzel and cordon bleu are freshly prepared, that's great. Unfortunately, the spaetzle was far too salty, the sauces were available in festival-style plastic bags, and the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

We like to go to Mr. Fröhlich's, but unfortunately the food wasn't particularly good on our last visit. We will try again and hope for the usual standard. On the menu it was confusing that the side dishes were very expensive and so it came to almost 30 euros for a pork schnitzel with potatoes and salad, with the cheapest being the schnitzel.

I really enjoy spending time with my husband and children. The owners are very, very friendly and there is never an answer, even if we come spontaneously. We always receive a very friendly welcome, the food is always great and everything goes quickly. The prices are completely okay. We would be happy to come back, many thanks to the entire team.

Rump steak is sensational. On Tuesdays there is liver, also very good.

Went there with a larger group, very nice restaurant with a map where everyone can find something! Whether it's a mighty cordon bleu or shepherd's cheese with potato wedges, everything is delicious! Price performance is right and the service was also very nice and on the ball. Gladly again

Had dinner with Mr. Fröhlich for the second time today, which was very tasty. We particularly liked the service, which was very friendly and accommodating. Very happy again.

We were here again at short notice today for dinner. The restaurant was completely full. We were told to come a little later, which we did. As always, the food was to our liking. But first we would like to highlight the performance of the staff. Especially the very friendly young blonde service worker who managed the large store almost alone and with a very friendly smile. Hats off. I would hire immediately...

I used to love going to Mr. Fröhlich's because the food tasted excellent and the price-performance ratio was simply great. Unfortunately, that has changed recently. Prices have increased while portions have become smaller. In terms of taste, the restaurant has lost some of its former charm, which is a real shame. However, I have to say that the staff remains nice and accommodating, which I really appreciate. Overall, I give Mr. Fröhlich three stars and hope that the old standards return at some point.

If you're at the campsite anyway, a visit to "Herr Fröhlich" is of course a good idea straight away. The service is nice and on the ball. The food is a little more expensive but also tasty and plentiful. Therefore quite appropriate. The atmosphere is great for a campsite restaurant. Compared to a restaurant in a city, there are of course slight drawbacks, as some camping branches walk past, for example to reach the nearby sanitary building. But that's complaining at a high level.

Gardening was well attended Service for most guests on the terrace was through. Had to wait over 50 minutes for the food. Order was 0815 from the card. The answer from the waitress was that it was the same yesterday!!! When asked after 30 minutes, the children's menu wasn't even brought forward. In the end the answer was that there were 7 receipts in front of us.

We're not going there anymore. I ordered a meal and a salad for the two of us. The waiter apparently misunderstood and brought everyone a salad. When we were told that we had only ordered a salad and a meal, the waiter reacted very rudely and claimed that my husband had ordered the same thing as me. He was able to cancel a meal. But the joy of eating was taken away from us. Price performance is not right. Side salad €6.10, pork cordon bleu with fries €21. Something else is delicious. A pity

Mr. Fröhlich, a restaurant that put a grin on our faces. When we reserved a table, we were greeted very warmly. In the evening we were looked after very courteously; there was a further selection on the special menu in addition to the actual menu. The food was very fresh and adapted to the season. All in all a very successful evening, We have 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARS

Everything great! Warm welcome. The quality remained constant throughout our stay, at first we just wanted to enjoy a refreshing beer in the early summer weather, but we stayed for a tasty meal and will definitely visit the beer garden more often! My recommendation is the Cordon Bleu…

Since I live in Kirchzarten, I often go to Mr. Fröhlich. The food is always impeccable and so are the prices and service. The complainers should stay at home or at their campsite and eat ravioli out of the can. Very few people have any idea how much a schnitzel costs until it reaches the guest. And yet everything at Mr. Fröhlich's is still okay in terms of price and the quality and service are also right.

Mr. Fröhlich should be reconsidered - he has rarely been served in such an unmotivated manner. It was also unwise to comment loudly to employees about visitors - "Oh no, those two again" Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either, carrot salad had unfortunately already been dumped, as was also complained about at the next table. Another visit will neither take place here nor in the Birch.

Food was okay Far too expensive, we picked it up. On the phone they said you can order whatever is on the menu...at the same price. When I asked if €63 was correct, they said it was €10 too much. Went there again. €53 still seemed too high to us, according to the online menu. When asked, it's still not clear how much it costs. On the internet it was called schnitzel, fries and salad. Now the salad was charged an extra €6. An on-site menu was not shown. We are aware that the press has attracted attention, just because of the VAT, but no matter how generously we calculate it, if you have to pay around 10 to 13 € for the two mini schnitzels plus some sauce, that is really much too expensive All very strange. It's a shame, we won't get anything more

Schade es hat alles etwas nachgelassen. Vor einem Jahr war alles etwas besser. Unser Tisch und die Speisekarte war klebrig. Das geht sauberer. Das Weinschorle war 08/15 Schnitzel Fleisch dünn wie Papier mit fettiger Panade . Bratkartoffeln schwammen im Fett. Pommes labberig! Fischstäbchen selbstgemacht zu wenig und etwas zu kross. Das Besteck haben wir deutlich sichtbar so hingelegt dass mit etwas Grundwissen der Gastronomie die Frage ob alles in Ordnung ist damit aufgehoben gewesen wäre. Dennoch wurden wir gefragt - "hats geschmeckt "????? Was sagt man da NEIN DANKE der Nachfrage! Wir haben nicht aufgegessen - beide hatten wir die Nacht über ständiges Fett aufstoßen!! Schade - wir testen nächstes Jahr nochmal - hoffen der Koch berappelt sich und nimmt diese Kritik ernst. Sonst sehe ich schwarz - was die Camping Stube anbelangt!

Die Käsespätzle sind sehr zu empfehlen. Sehr lecker und ordentliche Portionen. Preisleistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Kommen sicher wieder.

Wir waren zwei Tage hier und alles was wir gegessen haben, war super lecker und von toller Qualität. Danke an den Inhaber für dieses tolle Erlebnis. Auch, wenn man nicht auf dem Campingplatz steht, sollte man bei "Herrn Fröhlich" unbedingt mal vorbeischauen... es ist ein Besuch Wert. Tolle Bedienung und vernünftiges Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Ich kann leider nur 5 Sterne vergeben.

Gute Speisen und Getränke zum fairen Preis und sehr nettes Personal

Nach einem Jahr Pause haben wir wieder auf dem Campingplatz Rast gemacht und haben bei Herrn Fröhlich gegessen. Leider wurden wir dieses Mal sehr enttäuscht. Wir bestellten Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln, 2 Salate, Hirtenkäse mit Kartoffelecken und insgesamt 3 gezapfte Bier. Serviert wurden von der freundlichen Servicekraft zwei sehr kleine Schnitzel, etwa 5 bis 6 mm dünn mit einer schlecht gemachten Panade. Als Koch hätte ich mich geschämt so etwas servieren zu lassen. Die Bratkartoffeln waren ok. Der Hirtenkäse mit den Kartoffelecken war eine recht trockene Angelegenheit. Mehr Dipp hätte sehr gut getan. Der Salat schmeckte gut, war allerdings lieblos angerichtet. Ich bezahle gerne mehr und habe dafür ein ordentliches Schnitzel auf dem Teller. Aber 51,40€ sind es nicht wert. Wir haben bedauert nicht im Restaurant "Alte Post" gegessen zu haben. Von dort ist uns die gute Küche bekannt.

Mit direkter Lage am Campingplatz entsprechend gut besucht und preislich für das Gebotene eindeutig zu hoch. Mein Beilagensalat schmeckte nicht gut, matschig und relativ geschmacksneutral. Die Käsespätzle waren ok, allerdings eher aus der Tüte als wie hausgemacht. Unmittelbar nach dem Essen hatte ich unglaublich mit Magenbeschwerden zu kämpfen. Da ich an diesem Tag nur ein kleines Frühstück hatte welches einige Stunden zurücklag, kann ich die Beschwerden eigentlich nur auf das von mir zugeführte Abendessen im Fröhlich zurückführen. 2 Sterne für Clara die einen hervorragenden Job machte.

Wir waren gestern Abend mit unseren beiden Hunden, hier im Biergarten essen. Hier hat alles gepasst. Die Bedienungen sehr flott, freundlich und aufmerksam. Unseren Hunden wurde direkt ein Wassernapf bereitgestellt. Das Essen war super lecker. Das Rumpsteak war sehr gut. Die Chilifäden für die Optik auch ein hit. Mein Mann hatte Zwiebelrostbraten mit Brägele (Bratkartoffeln) auch er war begeistert vom seinem Gericht. Die Portionen sind groß, alles in allem, TOP. 😋🙏🏼 Wir sind begeistert von diesem Platz direkt auf dem Campingplatz. Weiter so. 😊

Herr Fröhlich ist für mich mehr als nur ein Bistro. Denn sowohl das Essen als auch der Service waren deutlich über dem Niveau eines klassischen Bistros. Manch ein Restaurant könnte sich da eine Scheibe abschneiden. Die Servicekräfte waren alle super freundlich und sehr aufmerksam und konnten Fragen zur Karte beantworten. Das Essen kam sehr zügig und begeisterte mit großen Portionen als auch überragenden Geschmack. Der Salat war perfekt abgestimmt und das Dressing ein selbstgemachtes was nicht 08/15 war. Auch die Käsespätzle hatten einen sehr leckeren Geschmack. Wir werden hier in unserem Urlaub definitiv ein zweites Mal Essen gehen.

Mijn vrouw gaat informeren of het mogelijk is om eten af te halen in het restaurant. Ja hoor, dat is altijd mogelijk. 1,5 uur later komen we terug om eten te bestellen om mee te nemen. Nee dat is niet mogelijk, want het is te druk 🤷‍♂️😳. Zo ga je toch niet met je gasten om!? Echt teleurgesteld en geen andere oplossing.

Sind gestern dort gewesen. Das Restaurant hatte ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten im Außenbereich, sodass auch ohne Reservierung ein Tisch gefunden werden konnte. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und schnell am Tisch, wenn das Getränk zu Ende ist. Zum Essen. Haben Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes bestellt. Man erhält zwei Normalgroße Schnitzel mit Zitrone und Pommes serviert und dazu im Vorgang einen großen Salat. Preislich schlägt es mit knapp 15€ zu, was in Betracht der Größe und der Portionen in Ordnung geht. Getränke sind üblich teuer. Für eine große Cola (Afri-Cola) fallen über 4€ an, weshalb ich einen Stern Abzug gebe. Bei Aufenthalt in Kirchzarten oder Besuch des Camping Kirchzarten einen Besuch wert.

Sehr gutes Essen, sehr nettes Personal. Ambiente einer Gartenwirtschaft, Aussicht auf Campingplatz. Wurde uns von Freunden empfohlen - den Besuch haben wir nicht bereut und kommen gerne wieder! Nachtrag: am 09.06.2023 waren wir 2. Mal hier, das Rumpsteak war köstlich, perfekt medium gebraten, einfach genial ;)

Salatsoße vom Beilagen Salat ist einfach genial ein Muss für jeden der Salat will. Super schneller Service, dazu sehr freundlich und aufmerksames Personal.

Sehr gutes Restaurant, alles Frisch. Das schönste und leckerste Cordon Bleu dass ich je gegessen habe !!! Salat mit Rinderstreifen auch sehr sehr lecker. Junge Blonde Bedienung total Flink und auf Zack und extrem Freundlich und Nett. Schade dass wir nicht aus der Gegend sind, würden sonst öfter kommen. Danke.

Wir waren zwei Tage in Folge hier Essen. Alles was wir probiert haben war extrem lecker. Die Portionen sind üppig. Die Wirtsleute sind sehr nett! Unbedingt den Haselnuss Likör oder wem das zu süß ist den Haselnuss Schnaps probieren.
