Simply fantastic! I celebrated my birthday here with a large group. We received a warm welcome, and the service was 11 out of 10! The owners are just as friendly as the entire team. Despite the large number of guests, all the dishes arrived at the table at the same time. No matter what was ordered, it was absolutely delicious! We spent a wonderful afternoon here, and everyone loved it. Thank you so much again for the wonderful celebration. If you're looking for a good restaurant in Peine, this is the place for you!

It was absolutely delicious! The restaurant's decor is modern, and the service is excellent.

We've been to the Hemingway several times and always found it okay. Today we wanted to have a light lunch there and were very disappointed by one of the servers. When the food arrived (I had penne aglio e olio), I asked the lady if it was possible to get some more Parmesan. The lady mumbled something and left. I waited and waited... (It wasn't busy, by the way.) After I'd already eaten some pasta and realized it was barely lukewarm, I got up and went to the server. I asked for the Parmesan and was yelled at by the same lady. I also told her that my food wasn't warm. She wasn't interested. She came a few minutes later and brought the cheese without a word, slamming it down on the table. When we were finished, we went straight back to the server to pay. We were ignored at the table. The lady then asked us to pay, but she didn't want to and left it to her colleague. We were never rude or impatient. This isn't what you should be treated like, especially these days when eating out is so expensive. It's a real shame!!! We won't be back; thank goodness there are great alternatives in Peine.

A very nice restaurant in the middle of the market square, right next to the old town hall, with the hourly chime of the carillon. Prices are a bit high, but the portions are large and the quality is excellent. There is, however, a weekly lunch menu with reasonable prices. It's cozy inside and outside, with plenty of seating. Huge praise for the food and service. We are very satisfied and would gladly return.

After 20 minutes of no service and being told that it's better to sit inside because of the wasps, we're then told that we're too early for lunch, so if they don't want our money, we'll go somewhere else.

The meat was cooked for too long, making it too dry. The onions weren't crispy enough. I suggest the chef take some additional training.

GREAT SERVICE! GOOD FOOD!! After being greeted by the friendly staff, we browsed the extensive menu. There's something for every taste. Burgers, schnitzel, chicken, and a relatively large selection of vegetarian dishes are on the menu. We chose the schnitzel with cheddar chili sauce and a turkey schnitzel. Everything was delicious. The homemade lemonades were also excellent. Unfortunately, you can't pay the tip by card. I'll definitely bring some cash with me on my next visit.

The staff is super friendly and relaxed, the food is delicious and beautifully presented. The prices are absolutely fair. Towards the evening, it got very crowded inside and quite loud, making it difficult for me to have a conversation with my table neighbors.

In summer, it's lovely to sit on the market square and enjoy the delicious food. In winter, it's too noisy inside, as there's a lot of noise.

Absolutely!!! I (there were four of us, and we were all thrilled) haven't had such delicious food in a long time (and of course, I also tried the others' food). Great atmosphere, very attentive, polite, friendly, and courteous service, and absolutely delicious food! Anytime (preferably in good weather) and I'd love to go back!!!

Delicious food, the restaurant has changed for the better.

The food was good. The service was good; we received a warm welcome and were seated quickly. Drinks and food arrived quickly and without any problems. The restaurant wasn't that busy. It was nice and quiet. When we finished eating, it took a while for someone to arrive, but by then the restaurant was definitely busier than before. There are high chairs and a play box for children, which we also thought was good. And there were straws, which you don't find everywhere anymore. All in all, everything was good. I can't say anything particularly bad about it. 🤘🏻

The food is delicious and appealing. The staff is friendly. It's a pleasant place to hang out. There's also a seating area outside, right on the market square, with plenty of space. Cocktails are also available, including a happy hour, but I find the prices a bit excessive, given that they're mostly made of ice. All in all, it's a great place to meet people and enjoy a nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

The food at the Hemingway is always a sure bet. Yesterday, May 27, 2025, I met up with three former colleagues at the Hemingway. Because of my carelessness, I forgot to ask if I could have mashed potatoes instead of fries. It had already been quite some time before I tried to change my order. The kitchen's response was: "We've already finished the food, but we'll change it quickly." Many thanks to the kitchen, many thanks to the friendly service, and many thanks for the, as always, excellent food! Great service, and the cream of asparagus soup is not to be missed. Thank you for the pleasant experience at your restaurant.

My recommendation in Peine! Consistently good and delicious food. The service is particularly noteworthy; it's remarkably friendly and competent. The only downside is that the interior is quite noisy, but the ambiance is still pleasant, especially the outdoor seating.

Today we were there for a hearty breakfast... everything was great and freshly prepared, very appealing and tasty... coffee included as much as you wanted... the staff were very friendly, courteous and considerate and our dogs were allowed to be there too... we'll be back... The food and service cannot be rated because it never came to that. Owner (short, stocky man) very unfriendly and absolutely not service-oriented. Given the unfriendly reception (there were 5 of us), we all agreed to leave our money somewhere else. If the restaurant wants to continue to have guests, this man should rather work in the basement.

For almost €22 you get a frozen schnitzel with a handful of fries carelessly thrown onto your plate, plus a €5 Sinalco Cola that tastes like nothing... The only good thing is the friendly service and that's it, the first and last time I've been there!

Employees assess visitors' ability to pay, and this is noticeable. Yesterday we made our first attempt to get a table, which was unsuccessful. That's why we made a reservation. We arrived at the right time and (suddenly) still no room for us. We have to stand between other people and wait. That was rude and unfriendly. Waiters talk to each other over us (thank goodness we can speak German), and it makes a bad impression. I always visit this restaurant for my birthday and I was always satisfied, my daughter also likes to eat the children's menu, so I would like to recommend this place to my friends. But yesterday and today were very unpleasant for us. Very unfortunate.

Hemmingways is a perfect place to get excellent food at reasonable prices. The servers are ALWAYS extra helpful. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. Service is fast and ABSOLUTELY unfaultable. It is the ONLY place we eat at here the kitchens are spotless.

Last week I treated myself to a currywurst xl for lunch last week for a whopping 13.8 euros and was very disappointed. The sausage was probably fried, not fried or baked. Not cooked enough for my taste, neither crispy nor juicy. The sauce was just as boring and tasted unaromatic and stretched out. When the waitress asked at the end if it was tasty, I replied: "There's still a lot of room for improvement" Unfortunately there was no further inquiry. . . very weak.

Overall a lovely experience and great service. However, it would be great if there was at least one vegan dish on the menu that would make vegans feel welcome and not just have to eat a salad. However, the salad was still delicious.

All in all “ok”. Doesn't particularly stand out. The breakfast is good but quite expensive. We spent 40 euros here for 2 people, which I thought was quite a lot for 4 rolls and something else. The staff is relatively nice, but you can save yourself a few jokes in the future and perhaps leave less than 15 minutes for a glass of water if the restaurant is empty. You could also clean it more often, there are cobwebs everywhere. In a place where I'm eating, I don't need to have something like this directly in my field of vision (especially around windows and lighting).

Food very tasty, but the staff doesn't have a clear structure. No division of tables, etc. This means that we are sometimes asked several times whether we have ordered. Food doesn't come at the same time. It happened that we were ignored for half an hour because no one felt responsible. When paying, there is the problem of getting someone to the table. Even drinks sometimes take longer. If the staff had been divided up, everyone would have their tables and would know who ordered what and when. But kitchen OK. Rooms beautifully furnished!

The Hemingway in Peine is an excellent restaurant. Everything from schnitzel to pizza is included. So far I haven't had a moment where I didn't like the food. The staff is very friendly, has a good eye for the guests and takes care of every matter related to hunger. Except for the sanitary facilities (which are unfortunately a bit too uncomfortable and tasteless) everything is kept nice and clean, which is why only 4/5 stars. Addendum 08/25/24: One or two years ago there was visibly little staff. This has now (at least today) improved enormously. I'm very happy with what I got today. Thanks!

We actually wanted to celebrate the testimonies. But unfortunately one of the two tables we had put together was spontaneously given to other new guests during our stay and was basically pulled out from under our plates and placed at the other table. There were then three of us at a table for two. The 4-seater table next to it, where we were supposed to put our things, drinks, etc., hadn't even been cleared away yet. The children had - rightly - the feeling that other guests were much more important than us. Sad. And a really bad feeling - the high spirits were gone. Appreciation is different; you could also have asked politely. By the way, there would also have been other connected tables for the new guests... Conclusion: we always enjoyed being there - but we'll stop doing that from now on!
