The food used to be better, so it wasn't the first time we were there. Unfortunately the quality has gone down quite a bit.

Always well attended. Reservation recommended.

Breakfast for two. Super decent portion with egg, yoghurt etc. Almost too much. Coffee at the table. Great. Great service. We'll be back. 🙂

Employees assess visitors' ability to pay, and this is noticeable. Yesterday we made our first attempt to get a table, which was unsuccessful. That's why we made a reservation. We arrived at the right time and (suddenly) still no room for us. We have to stand between other people and wait. That was rude and unfriendly. Waiters talk to each other over us (thank goodness we can speak German), and it makes a bad impression. I always visit this restaurant for my birthday and I was always satisfied, my daughter also likes to eat the children's menu, so I would like to recommend this place to my friends. But yesterday and today were very unpleasant for us. Very unfortunate.

Hemmingways is a perfect place to get excellent food at reasonable prices. The servers are ALWAYS extra helpful. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. Service is fast and ABSOLUTELY unfaultable. It is the ONLY place we eat at here the kitchens are spotless.

Last week I treated myself to a currywurst xl for lunch last week for a whopping 13.8 euros and was very disappointed. The sausage was probably fried, not fried or baked. Not cooked enough for my taste, neither crispy nor juicy. The sauce was just as boring and tasted unaromatic and stretched out. When the waitress asked at the end if it was tasty, I replied: "There's still a lot of room for improvement" Unfortunately there was no further inquiry. . . very weak.

Overall a lovely experience and great service. However, it would be great if there was at least one vegan dish on the menu that would make vegans feel welcome and not just have to eat a salad. However, the salad was still delicious.

Almost 2 hours of waiting for 2 burgers that weren't great for the price and a schnitzel that was so dry that it looked like a mirage.

All in all “ok”. Doesn't particularly stand out. The breakfast is good but quite expensive. We spent 40 euros here for 2 people, which I thought was quite a lot for 4 rolls and something else. The staff is relatively nice, but you can save yourself a few jokes in the future and perhaps leave less than 15 minutes for a glass of water if the restaurant is empty. You could also clean it more often, there are cobwebs everywhere. In a place where I'm eating, I don't need to have something like this directly in my field of vision (especially around windows and lighting).

I am very satisfied and can only recommend it. Food was very tasty and also very plentiful. The staff was super nice and helpful. Will definitely come back 👍

Food very tasty, but the staff doesn't have a clear structure. No division of tables, etc. This means that we are sometimes asked several times whether we have ordered. Food doesn't come at the same time. It happened that we were ignored for half an hour because no one felt responsible. When paying, there is the problem of getting someone to the table. Even drinks sometimes take longer. If the staff had been divided up, everyone would have their tables and would know who ordered what and when. But kitchen OK. Rooms beautifully furnished!

The Hemingway in Peine is an excellent restaurant. Everything from schnitzel to pizza is included. So far I haven't had a moment where I didn't like the food. The staff is very friendly, has a good eye for the guests and takes care of every matter related to hunger. Except for the sanitary facilities (which are unfortunately a bit too uncomfortable and tasteless) everything is kept nice and clean, which is why only 4/5 stars. Addendum 08/25/24: One or two years ago there was visibly little staff. This has now (at least today) improved enormously. I'm very happy with what I got today. Thanks!

We actually wanted to celebrate the testimonies. But unfortunately one of the two tables we had put together was spontaneously given to other new guests during our stay and was basically pulled out from under our plates and placed at the other table. There were then three of us at a table for two. The 4-seater table next to it, where we were supposed to put our things, drinks, etc., hadn't even been cleared away yet. The children had - rightly - the feeling that other guests were much more important than us. Sad. And a really bad feeling - the high spirits were gone. Appreciation is different; you could also have asked politely. By the way, there would also have been other connected tables for the new guests... Conclusion: we always enjoyed being there - but we'll stop doing that from now on!

Nice atmosphere and good staff. Unfortunately the food was a bit poor. My burger, which was beautifully presented, had little flavor. My sister-in-law had a schnitzel that looked a lot like molded meat from the deep fryer. Still a cozy place though.

The Hemingway Peine is located at Am Markt 31, 31224 Peine. This is a good restaurant. The atmosphere there is very pleasant and the ambience is also very nice. Furthermore, only good guests come here. I recently drank a nice beer here and ate a salad with chicken strips. Both were very delicious. 👍Super young restaurant with good food and attentive service

I'm very sorry, but today's outside service was a complete disaster. Not only that I had to wait a whole 20 minutes before we could order, even though the outside area was only half full. That you need another 20 minutes for hot water and only notice at the table that the tea bag is missing. What can I say? Another 5 minutes to add the tea bag…no words. The same game with latte macchiato. This was ordered with extra sugar. This was then brought completely without sugar. The waiting time for sugar: ~ 10 minutes including multiple requests. …no comment… Luckily we didn't try food. I don't want to imagine what additional waiting times would have resulted. When I tried to pay there was again a 30 minute wait. Wow, at least the requested receipt was given after only 2 minutes. Given the service, it is understandable that individual customers at the neighboring tables left without ordering. It's hard to get good staff, but you don't have to hire everything that doesn't come along quickly enough. Sorry but unfortunately not recommended.

We spontaneously visited here last night and managed to get a spot. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating and the food was very tasty, warm food seemed to be served until 9 p.m. but guests who arrived later were also allowed to choose something to eat. Great experience. We also thought it was nice that before they wanted to clean the coffee machine they asked again if we would like another hot drink.

But friend of the good weather, we ate outside. The food was very tasty and fits the price and performance ratio. The staff was friendly. Sometimes we were surprised that new drinks were brought, but the other dishes or glasses were not cleared away. The tables should definitely be wiped down again before use, that would be great.

Unfortunately I had a snail in my salad today that I chewed well 🫣 It can happen! However, the waitress' reaction didn't work at all: "We've had this before, so at least they know it's fresh!" 🥴 No excuse, no replacement. A pity! Unfortunately it was my last visit... Update: The restaurant's response that they apologized and offered me a new salad is a lie. The whole thing is very sad!!!

Pretty restaurant in a historic atmosphere. Nice interior, cozy rooms, unfortunately a bit cramped and tables so close together that you can't ignore the neighbors' conversations. The meat and bread for the burger were dry, hardly any sauce, fries from the oven? Salads were ok, but no highlights either. You could have a cocktail evening (good selection, also non-alcoholic), but it's better to eat somewhere else.

The “Hemingway” has been based in the former town hall of the city of Peine for years. Whether you want to eat well, enjoy breakfast, get business advice or just have a coffee, you are in good hands here. The service is always friendly and quick and the prices are also at an average level. Only the stairs in front and the entrance would make a visit a little more difficult for those with walking difficulties. In summer, the restaurant also offers outdoor dining on the historic market square.

A very cozy and nice restaurant, from the outside the building is simply marvellous and once inside you can feel warm and welcomed by the staff that was all they way through very nice, the food was excellent and came very quick, less than 15 min wait to eat, the table at our side order more that 6 different things and everything looked very good, we are definitely coming back again to try all the food we saw at the other table. 😉

The place is very nice. It has a modern style. It is well located and easy to find. They accept children and the dishes look good.

We were there with 9 people. The first round of drinks worked great. Everyone received their food at the same time and everyone enjoyed it. Thumbs up for that. Getting drinks the second time was more difficult. The empty plates also sat on the table for ages. Unfortunately there is also a lack of staff here, which is a shame. And as I've said many times, it's very loud.

We were at the Hemingway on February 18th to celebrate a 30th birthday. We were super satisfied. We were even allowed to use the stairs in the entrance area to "sweep" or bring our own decorations for the tables. The food was very tasty, the burgers with fries and the pork medallions were great. The employees were super friendly and responded to all requests. We will come back to Hemingway Peine at any time.

I had breakfast there for the first time today and found the atmosphere very nice. The only drawback is that I don't think it's handicapped accessible. If you want to go to the toilet, you have to go up the stairs and the toilets are very narrow. That would be difficult for someone with a wheelchair. It would also be difficult for my mother because she has knee problems and has trouble climbing stairs. Otherwise, I was satisfied. The restaurant was clean, the service was friendly and the breakfast was good. I would go there again and again go there.

The location is good, a bit drafty at times. But that's because of the really old building. The food is delicious and the portion size is good too. The prices have increased quite a bit, but are still okay. The only drawback is the noise level. When the restaurant is busy and people talk a lot, it's sometimes hard to understand the person you're talking to...
