I'm not one for euphoric reviews. But here I have to say that everything is truly harmonious. Great Brazilian food, some of it home-style, the likes of which I haven't had in Europe. And you can tell it's a family-run restaurant. Incredibly friendly people and a great atmosphere. I particularly liked how well it all came together. Nothing fancy, just a truly excellent Brazilian restaurant. We'll definitely be back on one of our next visits to Hamburg.

Wonderful place! I walked in to place a to-go order. The hostess told me they were out of #30, but she asked the kitchen anyways. They were happy to make more if I did not mind waiting, which I did not mind at all. Didn't wait for long! The food is delicious. I will definitely return again. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and they bring out lamps for when it gets dark.

Haven't had Brazilian in a while, and decided to check it out. Delicious ribeye steak cooked perfectly! Broccoli side was a sleeper hit, too! The chicken couscous dish also very tasty. Very friendly staff, nice setting, definitely recommend!

A small, hidden restaurant next to Stephansplatz. It also offers outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The decor is simple but adequate. The food was fantastic; everything was very well prepared and seasoned. We particularly enjoyed the tomato jam. The service is friendly, and the prices are perfectly reasonable. We definitely recommend it and will be back.

My partner and I were there for dinner on an evening with live Brazilian music. The appetizer plate was a great start – we were particularly pleasantly surprised by the homemade tomato jam. The main courses (grilled plate & vegetarian stew) were also excellent. The restaurant is lovingly run as a family business. The staff is very warm and attentive. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening, very authentic with wonderful music and a wonderful, warm atmosphere.

Amazing slightly exotic food, good advices for all 4 of us including kid. Interesting starters. Both fish and meat dishes were fantastic and well balanced.

Unfortunately I have no pics because we were quite hungry The food is really great. We had a Brazilian Tapas (salgados), the typical Feijoada, and a vegan Muqueca. Everything tasted like in Brazil, specially the Feijoada and its sides (mandioca, vinagrete, farofa, and a medium spicy sauce). Plus, my son loved his dessert (traditional carrot-chocolate cake). As a Brazilian, I can only recommend it!

Virkelig god brasiliansk restaurant med lækker mad og hyggelig stemning. Kødet var mørt og saftigt, og tilbehøret smagte autentisk. Betjeningen var venlig og imødekommende. En skøn aften – kan helt klart anbefales!

Gezellige sfeer, aardig personeel maar eten beneden de prijs/ kwaliteit norm. Vol verwachting naar dit restaurant gegaan voor een goed stuk vlees maar helaas teleurgesteld naar buiten gelopen. Het brood en aioli van het huis was droog en niet erg smaakvol (proefde oud), we hadden de de casava cubes met chili en appelmoes jam. De casava dobbelstenen waren erg groot en machtig, de twee geserveerde jams proefde niet zelf gemaakt maar uit een potje. Als hoofdgerecht had mijn vriendin de groentestoof met kokosmelk wat smakelijk was. Ik had de Picanha besteld van 300 gram, helaas werd dit geserveerd als platte lapjes vol met vetranden. Taai en gewoon niet lekker. Ik heb een opmerking gemaakt maar kreeg de opmerking dat ze het hier zo serveerde en ze in Duitsland dit op deze manier graag eten. Een picanha is een groot stuk vlees dat mals en sappig behoort te zijn dat jezelf snijdt naar wens. Er werd niet gevraagd hoe ik het stuk vlees geserveerd wilde hebben (medium, medium rare of rare). Eigenlijk had sit voor mij direct een rode vlag moeten zijn. Halve liter Malbec besteld a 20 euro, lekker maar ook flink aan de prijs. Uiteindelijk 125 euro betaald voor een maaltijd die naar schattig nog geen 30/ 40 euro gekost heeft.

The Helo is an absolutely recommendable restaurant! The dishes are all very well prepared and anything that is not yet explained in the menu is explained at the latest when it is served. Due to the quality of the dishes and ingredients, the prices are justified! The only thing we had to criticize that evening was a table with guests who only drank and were more disruptive than enriching over the course of the evening. You should be more careful! Otherwise: great!!!

The service was fantastic! The food too. I ate number 23, pretty standard flavor with coconut milk. The mocktail with cranberries is delicious.

Lunch at Helo today. Pollock with rice. The fish was very good. Portion sufficient. Staff attentive and nice. I was greeted warmly and served quickly. You can sit outside there very well.

HELO is a charming spot for Brazilian food in Hamburg, and the service is definitely one of its strongest points—the staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and make you feel at home right away. It’s the kind of warm hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. The food itself tasted good, offering authentic Brazilian flavors that were satisfying, even if not quite perfect. The main area for improvement is the presentation; unfortunately, there seems to be very little care or creativity in how the dishes are plated. It felt as if the food was simply cooked and quickly placed on the plate, which doesn’t do justice to the quality of the flavors. Despite the lack of attention to plating, the overall experience was positive thanks to the great service and enjoyable food. If you’re after good Brazilian cuisine served in a relaxed, welcoming environment, HELO is definitely worth trying.

A picanha foi uma das melhores que já comi!! muito bem feita, saborosa, ponto perfeito, melhor do que muitas que já comi no Brasil. O feijão também estava excelente, bem temperado e com gosto de comida caseira. Tudo muito bem servido, em um ambiente acolhedor e com atendimento excelente. Uma ótima opção pra quem quer matar a saudade da comida brasileira ou simplesmente provar algo realmente gostoso!!! Recomendo de olhos fechados.

Great restaurant and really friendly owner 😊 My brother was there 2 years ago and when we were in Hamburg together as a family, we had to visit the restaurant. Downstairs it has a very homely feel and upstairs it looks very elegant. The food was great and I can only say positive things about my evening there. When I'm back, I'll definitely stop by again.

The Helo was one of our absolute favorites in Hamburg. However, last year we had an experience that discouraged us from further visits. Moqueca was on the lunch menu, which we also ordered. The portion was quite small, but tasted good. When we got the bill, we were surprised because instead of around €30.00 (lunch with drinks) we had to pay almost €70.00. When we asked, we were told that you got "Moqueca de Peixe", the lunch menu But Moqueca is “Frutos do Mar”. This was probably our fault, but we found it very surprising, "muito cuidado" (be careful!).

Very good Brazilian restaurant. The restaurant is centrally located and the operators and staff are extremely friendly. One of the pieces of meat was a bit tough and the portion was rather manageable. Unfortunately, the typical northern Brazilian stews were also not available. Basically no big problems but overall not a full score. Still happy again.

Die Vorspeise war super, das Personal sehr nett. Die Hauptspeise war dann geschmacklich leider sehr unspektakulär, obwohl ich nach der Beschreibung mit sehr vielen Kräutern und Gewürzen etwas ganz anderes erwartet hätte. Die Nachspeise war dann wieder groß und großartig, lecker, lustig angerichtet, aber leider begleitet vom Supergau, einem heißen Espresso, der mir über Hose und weiße Schuhe gekippt wurde. Man hat sich zwar unzählige Male entschuldigt und mir einen neuen Espresso gebracht, den man mir aber tatsächlich auf die Rechnung gesetzt hat, was ich unverschämt und kleinlich gefunden habe in Anbetracht einer hohen Gesamtrechnung, einer Hose, die die ersten Stunden eines Städtetrips nicht überlebt hat und Schuhen, aus denen die Kaffeeflecken letztendlich gar nicht mehr rausgingen. Schade, es hatte so gut angefangen...

Probably one of the most welcoming team I saw in HH. Super listening, talkative and do their best to provide a real service. Super calm. The product are good quality and large served. If you want to spent a good moment, I recommand 🙃

To be honest, the appropriate rating would be 4.5 out of 5 stars. Food was good. The price was okay, as were the portions. There were nice pieces of meat on our plate. Unfortunately my wife didn't quite get the cooking point she wanted. Hence the half point deduction. Otherwise, the typical Brazilian dishes were delicious. Service was super nice, accommodating and every meal was explained.

That was really nothing! Grill plate - cooking point not met, meat generally inferior, seasoning disgusting. Service is also disinterested, so the ambience can no longer be broken.

As a Brazilian I can say that it’s not really Brazilian food and super expensive. Don’t recommend it at all.

The restaurant is simply but relatively comfortably furnished. The service is very friendly and flexible. What's positive is that the water is Viva Con Agua instead of the usual large corporations. The dishes (vegan stew with hearts of palm and bananas; beans) were generally freshly prepared, although I would have liked more spice because I ordered spicy. Instead of fresh chili there was only a hot ready-made sauce. Everything else seemed fresh and tasty. The vegan dessert (coconut flan) was also good - overall a recommended restaurant around the corner.

I was in the restaurant 3 times in June and I was one more time before I come back to Houston . Always when I’m in Germany this is a must point. The food is out of this world and the service is outstanding. I cannot suggest a plate since all I ate was delicious.

After our vacation in Brazil, we really missed the kitchen. You feel at home in the Helo Restaurant, stylishly furnished with lots of green accents and beautiful photos of one of the most beautiful countries. After biting into the picanha and tasting the feijoada, we were able to travel back in time, taste of vacation and excellent service! Had to wait 45 minutes for our food. fries were cold. If you don't feel like serving customers at the last minute. be honest and tell the customer that it is no longer possible to serve your customer 😉

Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Es wurden sofort Malbücher hergeschafft und weder auf das Essen noch auf die Rechnung haben wir lange gewartet. Es ist sauber und ordentlich. Nach unserem Besuch hat uns die Servicekraft per Sprint eingeholt um uns die vergessenen Spielzeuge nachzutragen. Das Essen hat uns gut geschmeckt und war auch ausreichend. Leider haben wir unseren ganzen Urlaub lang nie so viel für ein Essen mit allen ausgeben müssen. Daher nur 4 von 5 Punkten.

It was very nice to sit outside here. It looks cozy inside too. Relatively expensive, the steak wasn't ideal for me. When I tried the others, there were, on the whole, tasty things.

We went to an early dinner with our association Meeresladies e.V. from Scharbeutz after a tour of the Hamburg State Opera and were lovingly looked after by boss Helo and mom and her team.

Any Brazilian knows that good customer service is the most important thing, and that at the same time it costs the establishment zero, but unfortunately an attendant there has not yet realized this.

Delicious Brazilian cuisine. There were hearts of palm, as well as fried tapoika and polenta, with apple and mild chilli dip. Then a northern Brazilian stew. 😋

Delicious Brazilian food with lots of choice. A second, third and even fourth visit is mandatory! The service is extremely attentive and guarantees a great stay, thank you!
