Helms Lounge in Hamburg

Wonderful, fresh, very tasty lunch! Simply something special!

There were five of us there and celebrated my stepfather's birthday. The atmosphere is nice and makes a welcoming impression. The food also tasted very good, now comes the but - there was an evening menu on which everyone found a dish, but the dishes were not presented on 3 plates as it was written on the menu. My son (9 years old) chose the chicken with rosemary potatoes and it was brought with fries, in principle no problem if you know it was for a child, but then I would have expected not to have to pay €25 for such a dish. My husband and stepfather were also missing side dishes. That wouldn't be a problem in principle, but I expect that you will receive information about it or that the dishes will not be charged in full. Because there is no separation from the theater, it became restless with the guests who didn't go into the restaurant. But nobody can do anything about that. The service itself was also very good, we were regularly asked if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. The cash register was down that evening, so it was a little chaotic anyway, but you didn't notice it.

Disastrous accessibility. You only answer the phone after dozens of attempts and you don't respond at all to reservations made via the homepage. It's a shame, but the fun ends before the actual visit.

Hatten gestern um 17:45 Uhr eine Onlinereservierung mit Bestätigung von Quandoo für die Helms-Lounge, leider war diese geschlossen und dunkel. Auf ihrer Webseite sowie auf Google und anderen Seiten wurde das Restaurant als geöffnet angezeigt. Telefonisch war es auch nicht zu erreichen. Sehr schlechter Service was den Internetauftritt bzw. Pflege der Webseite angeht. Echt enttäuschend.

We had an online reservation with confirmation via Quandoo for the Helms Lounge last night, unfortunately the restaurant was closed and dark. According to your own website it should be on, according to Google and other sites too. Very poor service when it comes to website maintenance.

Wir hatte für heute eine Reservierung mit Bestätigung über Quandoo in der Helms-Lounge, leider war das Restaurant geschlossen und dunkel. Telefonisch war natürlich auch niemand zu erreichen. Laut Internetauftritt und auch über Google hatte das Restaurant auf, schade das alles nicht auf aktuellem Stand ist…

Wir waren zum Frühstück an einem Sonntag eingeladen und waren sehr gespannt. Was uns dann dort erwartet hatte hat uns total überrascht. Sehr schön eingedeckt (wir waren 10 Personen), sehr umfangreich und wir konnten alles nachbestellen. Der Chef hat sich sehr um unser Wohlsein gekümmert. Wir waren so begeistert, dass wir demnächst unser Familientreffen wieder hier machen werden.

It tastes very good and you don't go home hungry, the people are very warm and nice. I like coming here.

On New Year's Eve a late menu with other nice guests. Before midnight, all the guests were sitting around a table and ringing in the New Year 2025.

Das "vegetarische Frühstück" ließ jegliche Qualität vermissen. Statt „Omelette mit Schafskäse“ gab es kaltes, halbgares, matschiges Rührei. Die zwei faden Weizenaufbackbrötchen von Discounterqualität waren überhaupt nicht durchgebacken. Der sogenannte "Obstsalat" bestand aus ein paar kleinen Stückchen von jeweils höchstens einem Schnitz Apfel und Birne. Die "Käsevariationen" bestanden aus zwei Scheiben Weichkäse und zwei halben Scheiben Schnittkäse ohne Geschmack, einer Scheibe Tomate mit einer Scheibe Mozarella ohne alles. Dazu noch ein Klacks Marmelade und Honig. Das war 14,95€ nicht wert! Die Bedienung war stark überfordert und musste ständig an Fehlendes erinnert werden.

A big disappointment on Sunday! The "vegetarian breakfast" lacked any quality. One star is still too many. Instead of “omelet with sheep’s cheese” there was cold, undercooked, mushy scrambled eggs. The two discounter quality wheat baked rolls were not baked at all and were bland. The so-called "fruit salad" consisted of a few small pieces of at most a slice of apple and pear each. The "cheese variations" consisted of two slices of bland soft cheese, two half slices of semi-hard cheese with no taste, a slice of tomato with a slice of mozzarella without anything. Plus a dollop of jam and honey. That wasn't worth €14.95! The service was extremely overwhelmed and had to be constantly reminded of what was missing.

We were registered for lunch today with 6 people, unfortunately the so praised service was catastrophic, we were treated more like intruders than guests in a condescending, hectic, brisk tone, a shame about the really beautiful location, it doesn't correspond to our understanding of hospitality. One There was no invoice why? What does the German tax audit say about this?

We were a closed group of over 50 people and were treated to Afghan delicacies indoors and outdoors in the evening in the wonderful late summer weather. Recommended!

We had breakfast today. It was very, very tasty and beautifully prepared. Price-performance ratio is right. The service was excellent: attentive, quick and funny. Thank you!

Wir haben an eine herrlichen Spätsommerabend bei leckeren afghanischen Köstlichkeiten als geschlossene Gesellschaft mit über 50 Personen sehr vergnüglich drinnen und draußen gesessen und wurden liebevoll umsorgt. Das macht Lust darauf, es zu wiederholen.

Extremely great lunch menu. I had fried eggplant with yogurt sauce...it was terrific. And that for just 11.50. And then have a great Druze sitting. Great service. Highly recommended.

We were there as a family on Sunday lunchtime. We ate Afghan dumplings and the kids had tagliatelle with chicken. The food tasted great and the service was particularly attentive and super friendly. The bar offers something suitable for every cocktail. The espresso that came out tasted wonderful. Everything's fine, then.

Today we had a delicious breakfast with 15 people, everything was well prepared and the staff were very nice and attentive. Thank you very much

Reserved online for Ascension Day. There was no indication that it was closed that day. There is also no corresponding notice on site. This means that the good experience from the pre-Corona period has been wiped out.

Nice place in Harburg to eat. Price performance ok some very friendly service. Food beautifully prepared. Great salads!

First ordered a Hugo. My question about the mint was answered as follows: “We didn’t, so I poured more.” True, but how about communicating this so the guest can decide? Rosemary card. and vegetables were very tasty. The salmon was not seasoned and the taste of orange was not detectable in the sauce. My partner's dish was missing the vegetables and coconut sauce! When he asked, he received a cappuc as compensation. In addition, the waiter was reprimanded by his superior in a harsh tone in front of the guests. Uncomfortable for guests and waiters. No wonder the waiter didn't seem particularly friendly. Last but not least, it was not possible to pay by card. We were forgiven the 4 euros that we were missing in cash, but why no timely notice or sign? Overall, a visit that we will not repeat next night at the theater.

We ate there with 17 people after our wedding and were very satisfied. The operators tried hard to give us a nice experience and decorated the table beautifully. Everything went smoothly thanks to the pre-order. The only unfortunate thing was that I was told cheaper prices for the 2-course menu in the first phone call, but I wouldn't assume any bad intentions here. All guests enjoyed the 3 different dishes very much and special requests (vegetarian and gluten-free) were catered for. We would recommend the restaurant for such occasions and would like to thank you very much for the wonderful experience.

We had the gourmet breakfast - unfortunately nothing special. Sausage and cheese from the package, bacon was missing, egg could have been fried well. There was no fruit salad either. The baked rolls were delicious. Unfortunately, orange juice is also the cheap version. Conclusion: too expensive, not worth the price. 👎🏼👎🏼 not again. If you have guests, you should go somewhere else.

Sehr geringe Auswahl, keine Getreidemilchsorten, unmotiviertes Personal, kein Ambiente, sehr zweckdienlich, rollstuhlgerecht, bemüht, teils Sprachbarrieren (deutsch & englisch).

We had breakfast there with several people. Mr. Sharifi and his team are doing a great job. They are very service oriented and I like his sense of humor. The breakfast on the cake stands is beautifully prepared and tasty. Coffee, extra rolls and special requests come quickly. There is probably no more central or better option for breakfast in Harburg at the moment. You can also visit the exhibitions in the museum afterwards.

According to the description and menu on the internet it was supposed to be an Afghan restaurant, but there was only one Afghan dish on the menu. The rest is more Italian. According to demand, a reduced evening menu was switched to. But the taste was good. Ambience not so nice, as it is in the foyer of the theater.

Pathetic staff behaviour. No sense of customer service without even the basic courtesy to speak to another individual. The staff on duty was so ill mannered that I had to recheck if I was in Germany or in the middle of Afghanistan, where men don’t respect others anyways!

The "Helms" can be easily reached on foot in five minutes if you park in the Arkaden car park. It is located in the theater, but with a large and quiet terrace, even though it is right in the heart of Harburg. Very nice and friendly service staff, very rich breakfast, also organic or vegan. Excellent coffee and prices in the middle segment, but justified. Super clean toilets that are shared by the theater. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the quiet surroundings. We also enjoyed the pretty fountain with bubbling water from the forecourt of the former Chamber of Crafts. My recommendation here can only be five stars because I didn't expect that in the city center of Harburg.

Almost like our regular restaurant. After our partnership we invited people to a reception there. Excellent! The various breakfast options are highly recommended. Unfortunately only open for events in the evenings, but from the morning onwards. Nice owner. Toilet for elderly and disabled people on restaurant level.

Seit letzten Sommer immer wieder, bevorzugt zum Frühstück, dort Essen. Der Chef ist mit einer absoluten Leidenschaft dabei. Entschuldigt sich, sollte mal etwas schief gehen oder bringt was nach, wenn es vergessen wird. Für den Preis viel Auswahl & immer frisch! Absolut zufrieden und sehr, sehr gerne Gast dort. :)

Fing erst gut an. Service kam schnell, nicht aufdringlich. Essen und Getränke, in dem Falle ein Iced Coffee und ein Stück Apfelkuchen, kamen auch in einer angemessen Dauer. Der Coffee war gut, hat mir geschmeckt, der Kuchen leider sehr trocken und fettig. Fast schon ungenießbar. Nach 40min. nachdem ich fertig war, leider immer noch kein Service. Ich bin dann reingegangen und hab nach der Rechnung gefragt. Ich hätte mehr erwartet. 2/5

Das Essen war lecker in Worten nicht zu beschreiben. – Der Service/ Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam. – Das Ambiente ist war top. – Vom Preis her kann man nicht meckern. – Dieses Restaurant ist ein Muss immer einen Besuch wert/ von der Landkarte des guten Geschmacks nicht mehr wegzudenken.

Moin Team, heute morgen haben wir zu Dritt ein sehr leckeres Frühstück genossen. Und bei dem netten und zuvorkommenden Service ,und bei bestelltem Sonnenschein einen schönen Aufenthalt gehabt. Vielen Dank, und gerne wieder. . .

Für mich eine der wenigen wirklich schönen Frühstückslocations in Harburg. Preis Leistung ist super, über der Elbe würde man das doppelte bezahlen.

Der Service ist echt top und die Mitarbeiter super nett! Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich lecker! Wir hatten ein paar Extrawünsche und dazu wurde versucht Alternativen unterzubringen! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen! Durchaus weiterzuempfehlen!

Kann man gut Frühstücken reichlich und legger. Das Personal ist super freundlich, und sehr bemüht. Wir gehen sehr gerne dort hin, und das nicht nur zum Frühstück.

Wir waren gestern ganz spontan in der Helms Lounge. Direkt einen tollen Platz bekommen und schnell und kompetent bedient worden. Das Essen war einfach perfekt !!! Die Preise erschwinglich und angemessen. Gut besucht. Aber das Highlight war der Inhaber/Wirt! So ein herzlicher und toller Mensch. Wir haben uns so gut aufgehoben gefühlt und noch eine Brezel aufs Haus bekommen ♥️

supernetter Service trotz der vielen Kinder. Der Lärm ist schon heftig durch die Playmobil Ausstellung aber der Mann der die Lounge steuert bleibt die Ruhe weg. Bewundernswert!

Schönes Ambiente und gutes Essen. Der Mittagstisch ist Recht preiswert und das Personal war sehr freundlich.

War jetzt schon einige Male am Wochenende in der Helms Lounge zum Frühstück, ab und an auch zum Essen afghanischer Gerichte am Abend. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Servicekräfte und Besitzer waren sehr freundlich. Location ist für Harburg herausragend. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Wir waren Sylvester im Theater und haben anschließend ein 4-Gänge-Menüe serviert bekommen. Zuvor gab es einen Champagner an einem hübsch gedeckten Tisch. Das Essen war gut, allerdings waren die Portionen zu üppig. Der Service war gut, der Chef sehr aufmerksam, die Bedienung freundlich, allerdings war das Lokal auch nicht ganz ausgebucht. Um 24 Uhr gab es Sekt und ein kleines Feuerwerk des Hauses. Rund um ein netter Abend.

Leider war die Bedienung sehr unfreundlich und wenig entgegen kommend. Da es sich um den Eingangsbeteich des Museums handelt, sehr unruhig, hier wären ein paar Stellwände o.ä. sehr von Vorteil.

Trotz bestätigter Reservierung wurden wir (5 Personen) wegen Überfüllung abgewiesen. Wenn man als Betreiber nicht in der Lage ist, diesen Laden zu führen, wäre eine Entschuldigung angebrachter gewesen als eine Lüge.

Frühstück , verschieden befütte Etageren mit bezeichnenden Namen für kleines Geld, bei geutem Wetter auch draußen, Drinnen ist die EInrichtung mir zu nüchtern im Vorraum des HelmsTheaters.

Zügiger und netter Service, ultraleckeres, gut gewürztes Essen und Gerichte, die man sonst nicht so oft auf Karten findet. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Nach dem Besuch des Archäologischen Museums in Harburg bietet sich eine Mitatgspause in der Helms Lounge an (im Museumsgebäude). Afganische Küche, eine preiswerte Auswahl von 4 - 5 Gerichten, die bisher alle sehr lecker waren und einem neue Geschmackspersektiven eröffnen. Die vorher gereichte Suppe muß nicht unbedingt sein, aber beispielsweise der begrillte Wildlachs (7,50 €) sind unbedingt zu empfehlen. Aber auch die normale Speisekarte hört sich sehr gut an. Bei schönem Wetter kann man drußen sitzen.

Die Helms Lounge in Harburg bietet ein stillvolles Ambiente und ist mit der schönen Terrasse gerade an sonnigen Tagen einen Besuch wert! Absolut empfehlenswert ist der Mittagstisch. Wechselnde Gerichte der afghanischen Küche, werden zu Preisen von 6 -10 € angeboten. Die schmackhaften Speisen, sind eine willkommene Abwechslung und überzeugen durch eine Vielfalt von Aromen, die stets miteinander harmonieren.

Es könnte so schön sein: Draußen auf dem Museumsplatz sitzen, die Vögel in den Bäumen zu hören, die Sonne zu genießen. Oder im Winter in dem Foyer des Helms-Museums zu sitzen und draußen die Welt vorüberziehen zu sehen. Aber leider ist der Service mangelhaft, das Essen äußerst gewöhnungsbedürftig und die Preise zu hoch. Nach mehreren Versuchen, auch nach dem Wechsel der Küche Richtung Afghanistan, haben wir aufgegeben.

Wir waren hier zum Kaffee trinken. Wir bestellten die erste Runde und nachdem die Kellnerin die Getränke gebracht hat, haben wir die Dame erst einmal nicht mehr gesehen. Als wir noch mehr bestellen wollten, mussten wir sie suchen. Sie saß draußen und spielte mit dem Handy. Es war zwar nicht viel los, aber trotzdem regelmäßig bei den Tischen nach fragen ob alles okay sei, wäre schon ganz nett.

Wir waren zu viert vor dem Theater hier essen. Erst gab es Probleme mit den reservierten Plätzen. Dann bestellten wir 3x Schollenfilet. Man verkaufte uns billigstes Fischfilet als Schollenfilet. So geht man nicht mit Gästen um. Einziger Lichtblick - die freundliche Bedienung. Aber das kann das ungenügende Essen auch nicht mehr retten.

War an einem Sonntag mit meiner Freundin zum Frühstück hier. Wir haben 12€ p.P. bezahlt und das was wir bekommen hierfür bekommen haben, war ein Frechheit. Die Salami und der Käse waren das billigste, was es im Geschäft zu kaufen gibt und dazu gab es Aufbackbrötchen. Entweder sollte man es richtig machen oder bleiben lassen. So war es auf jeden Fall eine einzige Enttäuschung!
