I had a burger with pear, walnuts, bacon, and goat cheese—by far (!) one of the best burgers I've ever eaten! The fries and burgers were delicious. The staff was very friendly. The decor, and thus the ambiance, was less than pleasant.

The meat quality is exceptionally good. Even this flat smash patty is cooked so that it's still slightly pink in the middle. Sure, it's a bit mushy when eaten, but that's what I expect from a smash burger. And I think just under €10 for a cheeseburger of this quality is justified. My only complaint is the pickles... they tasted like a pickle from a hot dog; they could definitely experiment with that. Definitely worth a visit for a snack or lunch break! :) (They also have a selection of vegan and vegetarian patties)

We tried to order burgers from this place twice, and both times it was a very disappointing experience. The first time, after waiting for an hour and a half, we were told (after calling) that our order would not be prepared and that we would get a refund. The second time, after waiting another 20–30 minutes, we were informed again that our order wouldn’t be made. There was no clear explanation, just a refusal. After two failed attempts, it’s hard to trust this place – definitely not recommended.

Whenever I'm in Göttingen, I simply have to visit Helene! There are no surprises here, always good taste, a fresh atmosphere, and happy people around me. This place never disappoints.

If you like burgers, you'll be happy here. We were in town at lunchtime and finally had a chance to try the place out. They have a small, fine selection of burgers and side dishes. We had the cheesy, sweet, and savory burgers on the menu with fries and a drink. Lunchtime specials for 15.90 each. Really great value for money, with a well-rounded flavor. The bun was nice and fluffy, the meat and ingredients were fresh and tasty. The fries were super crispy. The staff were also very friendly. It certainly won't be our last visit, keep up the good work.

The place is truly beautiful and captivating from the first moment. The small staff, including the owner, who you'll always find there, is fantastic and incredibly friendly. The menu offers a variety of dishes, but the highlight is the amazing sandwiches: large, beautiful, and truly delicious. It's definitely worth coming here for a meal.

Small update: After my favorite burger joint unfortunately closed, I "had to" resort to Helene several times. I'm now feeling really positive about it. The burgers are good, and the nasty fries are absolutely world-class! _______________________________________________________ The burgers are definitely delicious, but that's about it. From my own experience, I know that neither the buns nor the fries (I didn't order any, so I can't rate them, but the product they sell is very good and, in my opinion, the best frozen fries you can buy) are homemade. I had the Truffle Butta Burger Anyone who orders a Smash Burger should be prepared for the meat to be a bit crispier, and mine was exactly what I want in a Smash Burger. Unfortunately, the meat is the only positive thing I can say for my taste. I don't know if it's regional, conventional, organic, or whatever, but it was well seasoned and had a decent flavor. The buns are, as I mentioned, frozen (but a good product here too), and the sauces all seem to be ready-made. Unfortunately, and this is the biggest problem I had with this burger, you couldn't taste any truffle or provolone, because everything just tasted of ketchup and some other sauce I can't quite identify, and overall, it didn't taste like anything special. And man, I had to use cutlery because everything was just overloaded with sauce. Holy shit. I've never had to eat a burger with cutlery in my life. As I said, the burger itself wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't anything special either. I would still come back, though, and I'm sure criticism is very welcome here. (My rating takes into account the fact that I myself ate burgers almost daily for five years at a very good restaurant. However, I'm not making comparisons to, for example, Monkey Burger and Burgeria, or chains like Dukes and Five Guys, because you simply can't compare them.)

I don't know what salt is. There was certainly none on the burger or fries. They were extremely greasy. Almost €20 for everything plus a 0.3 liter drink. Better off going to Burger King.

I don't even know where to start, we were so pleasantly surprised. We called on the holiday, shortly before closing, and asked if we could still order. We were kindly referred to the homepage and sent our order. After 30 minutes the food came. And we unpacked some super tasty burgers on the menu, the chilli cheese fries were just as delicious and the drink was included in the price. So great value for money! The highlight: a smiley written on the packaging, that was a real joy haha A new go-to restaurant on the list :)

The staff were really nice too, and the service was fast. I also got sweet potato fries on the side — crispy and just the right amount of salty. 😋 Honestly, one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. Great vibes, great food — I’ll definitely come again!

The burgers were good overall. However, compared to other burger restaurants, the price/performance ratio was not right. The taste and quality are average, but the prices are rather high. Maybe introducing a midweek lunch option would be an idea?

We each ate one french fry. These were very freshly prepared and tasted delicious. The chef is very friendly. Unfortunately, the ambience is getting old and the bathroom, despite being clean, is not in a good condition.

Food ordered to be picked up was fresh and prepared on time. After 10 minutes of walking home, the burger was still warm and the fries were partially hot. Very nice service, gladly again :)

We spontaneously and hungry went out to eat at Helene-Burger. The cilli cheese burger was really tasty, the fries were crispy and hot. The food is served iconically on enameled plates and bowls. As a drink we chose the Italian beer, it is a refreshing change from the standard beers available elsewhere.

Me and my friend had dinner there on January 10th. We've walked past the store several times and have heard a lot of good things. The food was really delicious, both the vegan and the meat dishes. The service was super nice and friendly, you felt very comfortable. Definitely one of the best burger places in the area, I can only highly recommend it 🫶🏼

Had dinner there with my girlfriend on January 10th for my birthday. I had the Truffle Butter Burger with sweet potato fries and truffle mayo and I have to say it was really delicious. The two gentlemen are also really friendly and invite you to eat there again. After paying, they invited me for a Limonci, with which the three of us toasted my birthday. I will definitely come back and can only recommend it to everyone!

I felt like having fries today and because I didn't even want to walk across town to Fries Glück, I went to Helene's. I had the naked fries to go once. The positive thing was that they were freshly prepared and were super hot and crispy. Unfortunately, they were run-of-the-mill frozen fries and tasted absolutely bland. I definitely wouldn't get it again.

We had eaten burgers that were fresh but greasy. These were served in old enamel dishes.

The food was good! Unfortunately the price is too expensive for what is on offer. We found 18 euros for a burger with fries and a drink to be quite expensive for a snack-like restaurant. Above all, 2 euros extra for a vegetarian party was inexplicable for us. 3 stars based on value for money.

The burgers are a 10/10 really tasty. The sweet potato fries were also delicious, unfortunately not so edible due to the salt but okay. Ambience very nicely done. I recently visited the Helene burger shop and ordered a chili cheese burger with fries and a Cola Zero. The burger itself was quite solid - nice and juicy and well balanced in terms of taste. According to the menu, it was supposed to be a “smashed patty,” but it seemed more like a regular patty, without the typical crunchy touch that I would expect from a real smash burger. The ambience is more reminiscent of a classic snack bar than of a restaurant, which is of course a matter of taste, but I liked it a little less. The staff were friendly and professional, but not particularly warm or outstanding in service - missing that special “host moment”. The price of €18 for the entire menu was okay, but not necessarily a bargain. Overall, my impression remains mixed. The visit to Helene was okay, but nothing that really convinced me. For a particularly successful burger experience, I would probably prefer other shops in Göttingen.

The restaurant is located in the city center. There are options to sit outside, here you basically sit right on the street and can watch. The food was good, not particularly great, but it was fresh and we were full. The service was very nice.

Decent quality and service but overpriced

We recently went to Helene's because we often walked past it but never really got around to testing it. We should have tried the burgers earlier, if you like authentic burgers this is the place to be. The meat is fresh and not frozen, you can taste that, especially since they are smashed burgers. The fries are also very varied, highly recommended. What I personally really liked was that there was a small selection of cocktails, just the right thing for afterwards ;) Overall, highly recommended!

The bread is highly recommended The best thing is that there is a discount of 13.9 on the full meal from 12:00 to 15:00 from Monday to Friday. The fries are so big that two people can actually fill them up!

The burgers are very expensive in terms of price, but they still taste very good. In my picture you can see the chicken burger with chili cheese fries. Plus a coke as part of the menu. Tastes really good! If I were from Göttingen, I would also have it delivered here. The counter is completely visible, so you can watch the burger sizzle live. The furniture takes some getting used to and it doesn't really invite you to linger for long, but it is still very clean. The chairs could feel a little softer. Otherwise I can only recommend this business. We were served quickly and friendly. It's best to make up your own mind.
