Hayatt in Mönchengladbach

We were invited by friends over the weekend and were looking forward to the all-you-can-eat offer. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. As for the price: it's definitely not cheap. It took a full 15 minutes for a waiter to even come to our table (at that time, only four tables were occupied). After ordering, we had to wait another 45 minutes for the first dish – and that was just a small bowl of seafood for five people. That ended the first round immediately. We immediately reordered, but it took another 45 minutes. After we asked the waiter about the delay after 15 minutes, we simply received the reply that they were busy – even though only about three-quarters of the tables were occupied at that point. From that moment on, there was no service at all. We finally asked for the manager, but he also took another 45 minutes to appear. Conclusion: For that price, I'd rather go somewhere else. For us: never again!

We've always enjoyed this restaurant, especially because of the all-you-can-eat prawn menu. However, our visit last night was a real disappointment. First, we discovered that the price for the all-you-can-eat menu had increased by over €10 within a month. This would have been acceptable if the quality and service were good – but unfortunately, the exact opposite was the case. After ordering, we waited in vain for our prawns for almost 45 minutes. We were all the more irritated when the next table suddenly received the portion that should have been ours – something even the guests there noticed. Meanwhile, our order still didn't arrive. The appetizer was also disappointing: Previously, they included cheese sticks, but this time they were completely missing. When we later wanted to order dips for the prawns, we were told they would be charged extra – even though the menu clearly states that the sauces are included. We also found it particularly odd that guests at other tables were feeding their dogs shrimp. While we were still waiting for our first portion, these guests had already received their fourth. Overall, the service that evening was unfortunately very poor, and the value for money suffered considerably. It's a shame, because we're used to much better experiences in the past.

We got poisoned by the lamb skewer at this restaurant. The meat was heavily marinated, so you couldn't taste it. Luckily, our child didn't eat it. My husband and I got severe food poisoning with vomiting and diarrhea, and we were completely laid up for two days. I really wouldn't wish that on anyone.

We visited the Hayatt restaurant in Mönchengladbach and were completely thrilled. The appetizers were varied and delicious, and the main course—the prawn stir-fry—more than exceeded our expectations. When the waiter later informed us that it was an all-you-can-eat menu, we could hardly believe it, as the portion was already more than sufficient. All in all, a fantastic restaurant that we highly recommend!

Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. The service was already chaotic: up to four different waiters attended our table, none of them really knowing what the others had already taken or brought. At times, we even had to point out to the waiter that what was on the menu should be served exactly as it was – the waiters claimed otherwise. The wait for the main course was far too long at almost 90 minutes. Furthermore, we weren't offered latex gloves, bibs, or wet wipes, even though other guests were given them as a matter of course. Our clothes were accordingly dirty after the shrimp dish. The steak was another low point: very tough, barely edible, and impossible to cut with the blunt butter knife. The chaos repeated itself when paying – it took several requests from different waiters before we finally received the bill. Rating: Service: 3/10 Food: 6/10 Conclusion: We won't be coming back.

We visited this restaurant for the first time today and were absolutely thrilled. Starting with the entrance area with two large palm trees in front, this location invites you to linger. Naturally, we chose the outdoor terrace. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic. Everything tasted truly outstanding. Since it was my wife's birthday today, I asked, in her absence, for a cocktail to be served with a sparkler if necessary. Instead, the team went to great lengths: The cocktail was brought to our table with a birthday song over the restaurant's speakers and a fountain positioned next to the cocktail. We ate the Hayatt menu. The bread, dips, and starters were very, very tasty. After another salad, the main course came - a well-cooked medium-rare sirloin steak (with a generous amount of bérnaise sauce) with delicious rice and potato chips. Just when you think you can't eat any more, there's a large bowl of delicious prawns to go with it. Overall, everything was delicious and there was more than enough - we would come back, hence 5⭐️ from me. Regarding the staff, there have already been a few comments about this in other reviews, but I can say that some of them are quite inexperienced, but always friendly, courteous, and helpful. In my opinion, that's no reason to deduct a whole star, but that's of course a matter of individual opinion.

Hayatt is one of the best restaurants in North Rhine-Westphalia. A wonderful atmosphere, the food is fresh, always plentiful, and absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly, and we were recognized after just our third visit. This speaks volumes about the excellent service. Thank you for so many wonderful visits! The owner, Salim Osman, has become dear to us. Thank you again for everything.

Super delicious food and great, friendly and attentive staff

We sat in the conservatory. Not exactly comfortable. We had to wait 20 minutes for our first drinks and a total of 1.5 hours for the food. The staff tried hard but were overwhelmed. The food was completely underwhelming. One of us even made the mistake of ordering a schnitzel. It was pure convenience food. The other dishes were heavily spiced with oriental spices, and the lamb was tough. That was it. Unfortunately, we won't be back for a while.

A warm welcome from the owner and very friendly staff, with "all-you-can-eat prawns" served with generous portions of warm bread, salad, and local appetizers. All the dishes were excellently seasoned! We highly recommend Hayatt! (Regarding the ambiance: cars and motorcycles drive almost right up to the outdoor tables, as the large parking lot is right next to the terrace.)

We went to the Hayatt Restaurant as a class with some parents and booked the "All You Can Eat" buffet for €34.90 per person. There were eight people at our table, and each person paid full price. We had been promised a generous offer via email beforehand: many different starters, a small salad for everyone, grilled platters, prawns, side dishes, etc. But what was actually served was a huge disappointment: There were only two portions of each dish – for all eight people combined. For example, only two plates of starters, two small salads, two grilled platters, two portions of prawns... That was clearly far too little for a group of this size, even though we paid almost €280. This was definitely not "all you can eat." On top of that, we also had to pay extra for drinks – which, while not surprising given the price, was doubly disappointing given the small amount of food. The food tasted okay, but nothing special. Overall, the experience was unfortunately unfair. A lavish buffet per person was advertised, but realistically, the food was only cooked for two people—and that was for a table with eight chairs and eight paying guests. That's unacceptable.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good. Thawed scampi in a salad that was swimming in pre-made sauce...

We were there on Tuesday for the all-you-can-eat prawns and BBQ... The food was good, and so was the service... we'd love to come back.

We celebrated our non-denominational wedding here in the conservatory. The planning with the chef went extremely well, and we had almost complete freedom in the design. The food (a buffet with tiered stands) was plentiful and enjoyed by everyone. Vegan requests were also accommodated. We would definitely come back.

Unfortunately, a disappointing visit – service and quality not convincing We had lunch at Hayatt with our family (4 people) on a holiday. Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing overall – both in terms of service and food. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed disorganized. The waitresses were unmotivated; our request for a drinks menu was met with a rude response, and there was audible grumbling. The service staff seemed to change every minute. The younger staff seemed inexperienced and uninspired, while the older staff seemed rather listless and annoyed. Friendly service doesn't look like much. The menu consisted of a worn A4 sheet of large print, riddled with spelling mistakes. While the selection is quite diverse – from schnitzel and grilled chicken to goulash with red cabbage and dumplings – the quality of the food was not convincing. We started with a cream of asparagus soup and a small salad – a nice gesture that, if the overall experience was good, might be remembered positively. However, given the poor service quality and the overall underwhelming experience, the whole thing seemed more like an unnecessary optimization in the wrong place. A main course was served incorrectly, prompting a promise to bring the correct dish immediately – however, this never happened, and the waitress responsible for it never returned to our table. Overall, the visit was very unsatisfactory. Poor service, lackluster food, and no atmosphere. It's a shame, because the concept seems quite nice at first glance. Rumor has it there was a recent change of ownership – perhaps that explains the current problems. However, given the current situation, we wouldn't go back at the moment.

My husband and I had dinner at Hayátt for the first time today, and we're absolutely thrilled with it. We'll definitely be back! The service was excellent, and we didn't have to wait long for drinks or food, even though the restaurant was busy. And the waiters kept coming to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. Everyone was super friendly! It was a very nice, intimate atmosphere. You can sit comfortably both outside and inside. And there's parking right outside on the market square. The food was really delicious and, above all, plentiful. Highly recommended!

I used to go to Hayatt with the guys a lot, but now we don't like coming anymore. Waiting 45 minutes for new prawns that aren't even marinated and are still raw! It's gone downhill, I hope that changes soon 🙏🏼

To be honest, I was very disappointed when I ate there with my family last Thursday for a birthday. The service was very friendly, but unfortunately also very overwhelmed (perhaps because she was very young and inexperienced). What is absolutely unacceptable is that a Hefeweizen was swapped for a non-alcoholic Hefeweizen at the table during serving! This is completely unacceptable and, in the worst case, can have serious consequences for the guest. The main course, and I would specifically like to mention Sultan's grilled meat, was well seasoned and beautifully presented, but the meat was as tough as a shoe sole and as dry as the Sahara. For the price, the quality was absolutely unacceptable. The portion size was OK. Based on the experience I just described, I will not be visiting this restaurant again and advise friends, family, and colleagues not to eat there.

I'm deeply disappointed, the service is crappy, the waitresses are crap.... you go to eat prawns for €17.77 and you're told you have to be patient for that price haha, and then you get new prawns every hour. First of all, we were told we were out of gloves, and then we saw a box full of gloves next to the toilet. TOP!

The food was okay, but it was a bit small for the price. The female waitress had no desire to work, was unfriendly, and even talked about other guests! That's completely unacceptable! She couldn't even smile, let alone say goodbye!

We were there for Gamba all you can eat on a Monday. I found the prawns to be too cooked, they didn't separate easily from the shell, and they were served in a sauce, which made cooking them even more difficult and also spoiled the food. Gambas should still be a little glassy in the middle. The sauce tasted good, but extra would be more appropriate. The dips were very tasty. The price for prawns all you can eat is very cheap, but I would like to pay a little more and get better quality.

Since the restaurant was busy, we had to wait quite a long time for our food. But it was definitely worth it. The portions were generous and the quality was fine. The service was quick and attentive. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

Really really great restaurant. Best cocktails in all of Mönchengladbach and the surrounding area. A great price-performance ratio. We ordered grill plates and surf and turf prawns all you can eat. Everything tasted excellent and exceeded my expectations. The whole team, waiters, cooks, service staff were absolutely courteous, quick and really, really nice. The meat was tender and very well seasoned. The cocktails were first class. This restaurant is an asset to the Mönchengladbach area

Was here with a friend and we had "surf & turf" all you can eat. I have never experienced anywhere else that the price-performance ratio is as good as it is here. I had the feeling that I didn't pay enough for what I got. In terms of taste, I have to say that it was really very good.

Unfortunately, the Wiener Schnitzel wasn't convincing - the breading was tight on the meat, instead of light and airy. The fries were also pretty average, and ketchup and mayo in sachets aren't really restaurant-worthy. Positive: The bread for the starter was good. But overall rather disappointing.

The food was very good, but we spent over 1.5 hours on our meal. With the "all you can eat" option, the starter was only delivered upon request and the drinks were always forgotten. Maybe you shouldn't go there on the weekend because it was very crowded.

We ate at Hayatt for the first time last night as a couple and will definitely be back. There was a free starter consisting of 3 different dips and flatbread, which was fluffy on the inside and wonderfully crispy on the outside. The chicken skewers were well seasoned and tender. The main meals include a salad and your choice of fries, croquettes, garlic fries or rice. The side salad was fresh and I liked the dressing. For the main meal there was also a thin flatbread, which was filled from the inside and tasted very good. The service was extremely friendly and attentive.

Went there today for lunch with 10 people. Atmosphere very well maintained with nice but somewhat overwhelmed staff. What didn't work at all was the food. Plaice was so heavily breaded that any fish stick would have been better. Spaghetti with grilled vegetables was a plate full of an unappetizing large amount. Also very bland taste. According to the motto, if it's not good, then lots of it. The only thing that was said to be good was the steak. I would say that everything tastes a bit like the canteen. Edible but definitely not a good place to eat somewhere. It's a real shame because the restaurant is very attractive. Addendum You write that I answered yes to the question of whether it tasted good? How do you know who I am exactly? There were several groups of 10 people there. And no, I wasn't asked. What was asked was whether the rest should be packed up. (Which I thought was very nice) so no, not all the plates were eaten empty. And I liked it with them, but the food didn't taste good.

We (my husband and I) went to the Hayatt Restaurant for the first time yesterday. Ambiance very cozy and inviting. The food, we once had chicken skewers with oriental rice and lamb chops with oriental rice, was unfortunately only lukewarm (we prefer very hot food) and the taste was just okay. We actually expected more. To finish off the meal, we ordered 2 x espressos. These came very quickly, but were only lukewarm to cold. We complained about this and were immediately given a new espresso, which again was lukewarm to cold. Why?? That can't be true. Drink prices are way too high (small bottle of 0.33l non-alcoholic pilsner EURO 4.50 !!!! too expensive, just like the espresso at EURO 3.00 = EURO 15.00 for the drinks, that's definitely too much.) Waiters were always trying hard, but didn't necessarily have any experience in gastronomy, as everything came across as quite slow and improvised. A repeat visit is therefore 0.00%. Too bad.........

We've been going to the hyatt for years and were there for all u can eat Gambas day this month. It was once again very tasty and the staff is also super friendly. The hyatt has great offers every month and Salim (the owner) always takes the time to talk to his guests and make sure they have a nice evening.

Without exception, everyone was nice! Open communication regarding the all u can eat time. The food was also very tasty. I'll definitely come back.

Hello everyone, we went out to eat there yesterday for the first and last time. Starter was ok, main course once was 1kg of pasta with prawns, much too oily, burnt pine nuts, no taste and a deep fried schnitzel was also terrible with no taste. It would have been better to serve less but with taste. Schnitzel is fried in the pan and everything had the impression of a really bad chip shop.
