Havana in Wiesbaden

I was recently able to enjoy excellent spaghetti with prawns there, accompanied by a wonderful Tempranillo. The ambience really picked me up and the food was excellent. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

Never again....had severe food poisoning after eating! And no, I was not the case described by the owner!!! I paid properly and then brought everything out again at night. Quite simply, I felt bad for days! It's bad enough to be treated like that!!!

I ate very well and had a very nice seat. The service was overloaded and difficult to reach, but still very nice. However, I am also aware that it is currently difficult to get good service staff.

I've had cocktails here 15 years ago and will continue to do so. Nice atmosphere, very good selection of tapas, the main courses are also delicious. The service was very attentive.

We had a delicious meal, the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. We are less satisfied with the service. We had to wait a long time before we contacted the waiter. We had to ask ourselves if we could order a dessert and not once were we asked if the food was tasty or if there was anything else they could do for us. I could barely contain a smile. When we wanted to pay, we walked to the bar ourselves. The staff was standing there looking at their phone....too bad

We visited this restaurant for the first time. The food was very tasty, the atmosphere was cozy and appropriate. Unfortunately we found the desserts a bit boring and not necessarily suitable. They weren't really convincing in terms of taste either. Unfortunately, the service was very inattentive that evening and the waiting times were very long (almost 30 minutes waiting for our drinks).

The food is very tasty, unfortunately the parking situation is now a disaster. There are only bicycle paths and no more parking spaces. Since we no longer live in Wiesbaden we have to come by car.

The ambience is really great and the food is great. However, I can only give it one star because the service was just subpar, even if the waitresses were really friendly. I understand that if the restaurant is full on a Saturday evening, you definitely have to expect a wait. But even there are limits! Our main course only came after about 80 - 90 minutes and the second round of drinks that we ordered before eating didn't come at all (despite repeated requests) until we left. When we pointed this out when paying and logically insisted not to pay, they looked at us puzzled and the second round of drinks was canceled but there was no word of apology. At such peak times, more staff are needed then it can really be a great experience. Two conditions are simply not enough

Das **Havana** in der Sonnenberger Straße in Wiesbaden hat uns heute Abend wirklich begeistert. Schon die Vorspeise, überbackene Tortilla Chips mit Käse und Hackfleisch, war ein Highlight. Die Chips waren knusprig, der Käse perfekt geschmolzen, und das Hackfleisch hat mit seiner Würze für einen köstlichen Start in den Abend gesorgt. Als Hauptgericht hatten wir eine Rollo mit Hühnchen, Gemüse und Salat. Die Kombination war nicht nur frisch und leicht, sondern auch geschmacklich hervorragend abgestimmt. Das Hühnchen war zart, das Gemüse knackig, und der Salat sorgte für eine angenehme Frische. Besonders erwähnenswert ist der italienische Wein, der das Essen perfekt begleitet hat. Er war fruchtig und rund, passte ausgezeichnet zu den Aromen der Gerichte und rundete das Geschmackserlebnis wunderbar ab. Das Ambiente im Havana war gemütlich und einladend, der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Abend in einem Restaurant, das wir gerne weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

The **Havana** on Sonnenberger Straße in Wiesbaden really impressed us this evening. The starter, baked tortilla chips with cheese and minced meat, was a highlight. The chips were crispy, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the flavor of the minced meat made for a delicious start to the evening. For the main course we had a rollo with chicken, vegetables and salad. The combination was not only fresh and light, but also excellent in terms of taste. The chicken was tender, the vegetables were crunchy, and the salad added a nice touch of freshness. Particularly worth mentioning is the Italian wine, which accompanied the meal perfectly. It was fruity and round, went perfectly with the flavors of the dishes and rounded off the taste experience wonderfully. The ambience at Havana was cozy and inviting, the service friendly and attentive. Overall, a very successful evening in a restaurant that we would happily recommend. We'll definitely be back!

Not very Cuban, food was good enough but not very kid friendly.

(Visit on July 12, 2024) After a long time (why actually?🤔) we were drawn to Havana again. Ok, the Schlemmerblock "supported" a little this time😇, but this time we won't wait that long!☝🏻😉 With well-selected Cuban music (at a pleasant volume!) you can wonderfully immerse yourself in the Cuban-Mexican-Spanish ambience! The selection of dishes offers meat lovers as well as vegetarians and vegans (I'll save you the - sorry! - unspeakable genders) plenty of tasty options. (Note: It could be seasoned a little more strongly, but as we all know, “the tastes” are different.💁🏼‍♂️) I would definitely like to mention the pleasantly attentive service - thank you very much!💐 VG and see you next time!🙋🏼‍♂️🙋🏼

You can eat very well there. The outside area is not my thing because of the rather loud Sonnenbergerstrasse.

The food is good. If you like it. Unfortunately it's not my case, but that shouldn't reduce the quality. It was great. Service was OK. The ambience is the best. Nicely decorated. Unfortunately, they only allow cash payment at the gourmet block, which limited the fun somewhat because there was no cash available. They tried to explain to us in a friendly manner why this was so! We also wanted to try it spontaneously and would have had 2 for 1. After that we had no interest in drinking another cocktail. Card payment is generally possible. Maybe we'll come back just for cocktails.

Great restaurant with very tasty food at down-to-earth prices. Mondays are tapas evening; three tapas for € 13.90.- We were there several times within a few weeks and will definitely be returning shortly. Free Parking on site is a problem.

We chose a selection of starters and were very happy with them. Delicious little things that each had a special taste. Individually, of course, due to different preferences, we liked them more than others. But that's simply a matter of taste. We had a place with a view of the outside and were able to enjoy the great hot appetizers without any time pressure. Thank you very much

Starter with shrimp was a bit unimaginative in my opinion. The blinds look a bit dry. They taste juicy but taste good. Overall pretty good but I won't be coming back. Didn't convince me.

Unfortunately I had to complain about the bill twice; it was more than €20 too high in total. When ordering I also forgot to ask what type of meat I preferred. So I had 2 types on my plate because some pieces of pork were overlooked during the exchange

We were served very good cocktails here. The El Che cocktail is an insider tip and highly, highly recommended. THE cocktails are consistently high quality and expertly mixed. In Wiesbaden and even in Frankfurt a. I don't know of any location that is at least as good or better. Highly recommended and always worth a visit.

Highly recommended, even if not directly in the city center. Service staff were quick and friendly, the menu had a good selection and we enjoyed everything very much. Ambience is nice. Price-performance ratio is right. We became aware of it through the Schlemmerblock and will come again.

Had our company party at Havana, the service and food was good. The atmosphere matches the name, all colleagues had fun and were full. We would like to come again.

Not even close to Spanish cuisine. The one single item served most resembling any kind of Latin food was a tortilla served as “flatbread”. The food had good flavor but the chef has a heavy hand on the salt. Atmosphere is extremely unique and different for Germany. The absolute farthest thing from Cubano comidas.

I visited the Havana restaurant and cocktail bar with the gourmet block. Although the restaurant accepts EC payments, we were told that we would have to pay cash when redeeming the Schlemmerblock as the EC device fees would not be worth it. The restaurant manager/owner was rude and not customer oriented. He neither inquired about the satisfaction of the meal nor about any further requests. There was also no thanks for the tip. Service overall was slow as there were several tables, which was acceptable to me. Despite the delicious food and cocktails, I found the owner's unfriendly and greedy attitude disappointing. It seems as if he forgets the attention and possibilities that the gourmet block brings with it. His statement that it was nice enough to get a meal for free didn't seem very customer-friendly. Without the gourmet block, I would not have noticed the restaurant. Unfortunately, since the restaurant manager/owner left such a bad impression, I won't be coming back. I believe that if the restaurant manager/owner has a problem with the concept of the gourmet block, he should withdraw from this promotion. Very unfortunate!!

Great restaurant that I visit again and again...It must have been decades now 🙈 Well... Everyone there is super friendly, one of the few restaurants where I've never experienced anyone being unfriendly. The food tastes really good across the board, with a very good price-performance ratio. Good selection of cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The atmosphere is very cozy, not fancy, just makes you feel good. In fact, even with an indoor smoking area. Parking hasn't gotten any easier over the years, you used to have to park in front of the door... That's no longer possible today. An option with some walking distance (no km, a few hundred meters) is the public parking lot on the corner of Wilhelmstraße/Sonnenberger Straße, or the adjacent side streets.

Very tasty food (we especially like tapas), very attentive and friendly service and the cocktails are a delight. All in all, highly recommended and a new favorite restaurant for us!

Alle Gerichte waren ausgezeichnet. Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Drinks hätten ein bisschen mehr Finesse vertragen und ich würde den Service etwas mehr auf den Verkauf und die Empfehlung von Getränken schulen. Hätte man uns mit ein bisschen mehr Enthusiasmus die Getränke angeboten, hätten wir sicher noch ein paar Euro mehr bei euch gelassen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und freuen uns aufs nächste mal

Etwas anderes Restaurant und Bar in Wiesbaden eingerichtet wie ein altes Schiff mit gutem Essen ubd sehr freundlichen und flotten Service. Wir haben uns zu zweit die Plato la Habana geleistet, was abwechslungsreich und ausreichend war

Die Cocktails waren lecker und günstig. Das Essen war wirklich lecker und schnell da. War auf jeden Fall,den Besuch,wert.

Die Vorspeisen waren soweit in Ordnung, jedoch keine Besonderheiten. Da war aber auch nicht viel falsch zu machen. Unsere Hauptgerichte waren beide verkocht und das Fleisch trocken. Der Koch kann defintiv nicht wirklich kochen! Mit den Gewürzen ergab es einen kubanischen Geschmack, die Konsistenz hingegen war labberig. Keine Empfehlung, gibt deutlich bessere! Schade ums Geld und den verpassten Genuss.

Tolles Restaurant. Leider war der Service etwas überfordert mit unserer Gruppe (100 Leute). Das Essen kam sehr spät trotz Vorbestellung. Sonst war es sehr schön und ist absolut zu empfehlen.

Ich ess jedesmal was anderes aber es ist immer wieder Super Lecker. Die Bedienung ist sehr schlagfertig, muss man mögen aber ich mag es.

Wir waren abends in kleiner Gruppe essen und es war ganz gut. Alles essen war soweit lecker , leider hat mein Steak nicht so geklappt wie gewünscht. Ich hatte vorher extra nachgefragt, ob Medium Rare möglich ist, was dann kam war aber leider nicht Mal in der Nähe. Der 2. Versuch war dann näher dran, aber ich habe es dann so genommen. Schade, aber beim nächsten Mal esse ich einfach was anderes. Bedienung und Ambiente waren super, daher gerne wieder.

Wir waren mit 8 Kolleg*innen im Havana und hatten eine entspannte und gute Zeit im Herzen von Wiesbaden, direkt neben dem Kurpark. Gutes und abwechslungsreiches Angebot an Speisen und Getränken, sehr gute Auswahl an (auch alkoholfreien) Cocktails. Mein Favorit: der ‚strawberry daiquiri frozen‘ Wir hatten diverse Tapas und auch Hauptspeisen, geschmacklich auf gutem Niveau und insgesamt ein, auch für Wiesbaden, sehr gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Angenehme Bedienung und keine zu langen Wartezeiten. Eine klare Empfehlung, auch nur für einen schönen Cocktailabend. Kartenzahlung möglich.

Sehr nettes Restaurant mit besonderen Ambiente. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und bietet neben lokalen Speisen auch kubanische Speisen. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Divertido ambiente animado, personal amable, buenos cócteles. Sin embargo, creo que este lugar le debe más a México que a Cuba. Los cubos de piña no hacen un restaurante cubano. Dicho esto, nuestros platos principales eran sabrosos y los precios buenos.

Wir waren in einer Gruppe von 10 Personen im Havana , haben dort wunderbar auf der Terrasse gesessen und uns an Essen und Getränken gefreut. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich, das Essen hervorragend und die Cocktails, die wir von der riesigen Karte ausgesucht hatten, waren ebenfalls sehr gut. Ein rundum gelungener Abend!

Die Location ist sehr toll eingerichtet und unheimlich gemütlich. Da sieht man, dass jemand mit Liebe zum Detail an der Einrichtung und am Innendesign gearbeitet hat. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Preise sind fair. Der Chef will auch so eine Bedienung sind sehr zuvorkommend und außerordentlich aufmerksam. Immer wieder zufrieden ist einen Besuch wert.

We just moved to Wiesbaden Germany 2 months ago and coming from Florida, I began to Jones for some good Cuban food. Their website boasts of authentic original cuban food... so we walked around all afternoon until they opened at 5; so excited. The English menu was appreciated but had the English menu been available online, we never would've gone. It would've been very clear the only thing cuban about the place was the black beans and atmosphere. We ordered "original authentic cuban dishes", according to their menu and there was zero cuban influence. The menu was more Turkish influence than anything. The chicken was overcooked to the point of dried out and we were there at 510pm... black beans were severely undercooked to the point of literally being hard, no onions and no bread. When asked if the owners were cuban, had any cuban background or even been to Cuba.... we were told no. Explains it all. I asked for a little raw onion so I could tolerate the meal and a little bread with butter or oil...I was told no. Then they brought me out Turkish flat bread, said it was cuban and turned around and charged me 5 euro for the Turkish bread without butter and a few slices of raw onions. No yellow rice in the house. Next time I want cuban food, I'll cook. Save your money people.... their I don't care attitude, sucky food and high prices are a joke. Owners, contact me and I'll help you with your menu and fixing things. Those of you who don't have any point of comparison... this is NOT CUBAN FOOD.

Wir waren zu zweit dort um spontan mal etwas anderes zu machen als nur essen zu gehen. Die Cocktails sowohl alkoholische als auch nicht alkoholische waren sehr gut und das Essen gut und üppig. Wir hatten die Tapas für zwei als Vorspeise und das hätte gereicht ( wussten wir aber nicht). Den Rest haben wir einpacken lassen und uns am nächsten Tag daran erfreut. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend in netter Atmosphäre.

Ich habe hervorragendes mariniertes Hähnchen, mit guten Rioja und im Anschluss dann die flambierte Banane genossen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Alles in allem ein perfekter Abend. :-)

Gestern Abend wollten wir mal eine Neue Lokation für Cocktails in Wiesbaden testen und dazu auch gleich das Essen mal Testen. Vorweg der Service war sehr Nett ..lustig, da es Happy Hour gab habe wir verschieden Cocktails Probiert die echt Lecker waren. Zum Essen muss man sagen, das die Tapas ledier zum Teil Fertig produckte waren, und deshalb man leider beim Essen Punkte abziehen muss. Ich werde beim nächsten besuch nochmal andere Gerichte probieren und schauen ob es eher nur an denn Tapas lag,und sie beim anderen Essen mehr überzeugen können. Also für einen Cocktailabend ist es hier der richtig Platz.

Das Restaurant liegt am Kurpark von Wiesbaden, fußläufig zum Kurhaus und der Innenstadt. Dem Innern des Restaurants wurde ein wenig ein kubanisch-spanischer Hauch durch die Einrichtung gegeben. Es gibt eine breite Palette an spanischen Gerichten, montags ist Tapas-Abend, was leider nur wenige Gäste nutzen. Die Bar ist gut sortiert, von 17-19 Uhr ist Happy Hour. Das essen ist lecker, die Bedienung zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Die Preise normal.

I went here several times and the food is always delicious. It's definitely not authentic cuban cuisine but it's always fresh and tasty. They also have a tapas special once a week which you shouldn't miss. I love their baked goats cheese with honey and rosemary. Also, the decor creates a nice warm atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
