Haus Zauberflöte - Hotel & Restaurant in Offenburg

This place is funky. It was a wonderful first night on the road for our Mosel / Lahn river rad tour. In our room the bathroom over looked the bed. There is lots to love about this hotel and their sister restaurant down the street. There is one drawback however and that is that it is right on the railroad tracks... like... right next to them. I am reminded of the line in the Blues Brothers when Jake asks "how often does the train go by?" and Elwood answers "so often you won't even notice". Funky but know there will be the sound of trains. Recommend.

Zeer lekker eten in een originele, warme setting! Uniek gebouw dat leuk ingericht is, Verfijnd eten in grote porties. We wilden een voorgerecht en dessert delen, wat helemaal geen probleem was. Uitgebreide wijnkaart, maar wij hebben genoten van de glaasjes huiswijn, lokale wijnen van heel goede kwaliteit! De bediening is vriendelijk en warm. Ook leuk dat er een open keuken is. Zeker een aanrader. Enige minpunt is dat ze bij de bar en bij het afruimen soms wat luidruchtig waren.

The Magic Flute is definitely a place to remember! The food is simply outstanding – every course was a pleasure for the senses. I was particularly impressed by the truffle ravioli, and the wine selection goes perfectly with it. The atmosphere is relaxed and invites you to linger. The only downside was the service: Even though the team was super friendly, the service staff came to the table a little too often and seemed a bit uncoordinated. Nevertheless, The Magic Flute remains a highlight in Offenburg. If you like great cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere, you should definitely stop by here!

We tried it all :) The hotel is very nice to stay, has its personality and enough space. The restaurant is beautiful, tasty and will not leave your stomach empty, even if you try. The cafe serves great coffee and nice breakfast options. If you stay in the hotel, and make use of all options, your life will be very easy during the stay. Also would like to mention that all the guys we enountered working at this hotel/cafe/restaurant are helpful and friendly.

As a little side information: I have been a bartender in this region for several years. The bar is primarily characterized by the exceptional quality of the drinks that David, the bar's bartender, serves up weekend after weekend. New, self-conceived drinks every week that are perfectly balanced and refreshing at all times. The professionalism and attentiveness of the bartender is extraordinary and absolutely no one who visits or has ever visited Z-Bar can honestly and objectively claim to have been poorly served. Concept 10/10 Quality 10/10 Ambience 12/10 (among others: turntable best) Value for money more than good (15/10, as the quality is far above any other bar in the region) Service/bartender: always friendly, professional and competent (personally 20/10) All in all: MUST GO TO in Offemburg and the surrounding area! Will be showing up there every week!

Nice little hotel with really special rooms. Minibar, bathtub, sofa... We also really liked the restaurant, there is a good selection with many vegan options.

On a Saturday evening I was there for dinner with 3 friends. I had reserved a few weeks in advance. Service was a bit slow at first, but the appetizer plate we shared was very good. Unfortunately, after the starter it took about 80 (!!!) minutes for our main courses to arrive. After 55 minutes we asked for the first time. If the food had been good, that could have been somewhat excused, but with the Salad Nicoise the tuna steak was probably in the pan for the whole 80 minutes and was completely cooked through. Because the waiting time was far too long, we didn't let it go back, as we would have done otherwise (although we told and showed it to the waitress). The chanterelles with fried potatoes - after the affirmative inquiry when ordering whether they should put 'some' bacon on them - had so much bacon on them that everything was completely salty and even the chanterelles, eaten alone, only tasted like fried bacon. The ravioli were bland, too hard (I really like al dente, but they weren't cooked long enough), the sauce was watery and the parmesan foam was unfortunately no longer foam either.... Only the lamb rack was excellent. Against this background, the espresso on the house was far too little and far too late. Mistakes happen and things sometimes go wrong in a kitchen, but I would have expected that the waiter would come after 30 minutes at the latest, address the expected delay in the main course and, even in such a serious case, offer something more than an espresso. Unfortunately a bitter disappointment!

We stayed 1 night in this wonderful hotel in the Elvis room. Welcoming and very friendly. Large room with a lovely walk-in shower and large, good bed. No air conditioning, but there is a portable fan. Super breakfast with lots of choice in the attached café. And cozy garden. Top spot!

Magical and original experience Do you like hotel chains where one room looks like the other? No matter which city? Then the Hotel Zauberflöte is not for you! For everyone else it is a magical surprise and a truly unique hotel. We were received and greeted very friendly. A recommendation for free parking nearby? No problem. The room in the old, but equally originally restored house was a huge surprise: lots of art and imagination, with plenty of space and atmosphere, and surprising design ideas. The hotel has a café, a bar, a beer garden and a restaurant where we had an excellent meal. The breakfast in the cafe was also very good. Go there, let yourself be surprised!

We had dinner in the restaurant yesterday for my wife's birthday. I stated the reason when making the reservation. On arrival we were warmly greeted and congratulated my wife. The staff is super nice and attentive. I can only say positive things about the food. We had a starter and each a main course. The portion size was more than sufficient. Unfortunately, dessert didn't fit in anymore. There was also a great wine list on site. Due to the weather, we ordered a delicious summer spritzer based on a recommendation. All in all a lovely evening. We'll definitely come back.

Sitting in the café for lunch and had an asparagus salad. This tasted first and foremost of love for the food and then of respect for the product. Without knowing it, I claim that there is nothing in there that doesn't belong. Skip next pizza and enjoy some asparagus salad & Co.

I went to Z-Cafe or Magic Flute for breakfast on a Sunday. I drank a Green Detox juice that I really enjoyed. For dinner I ordered a Magic Flute omelette. I didn't like the omelet that much because it was very greasy. I didn't stay long because the noise level was extremely high. Despite everything, I think the map is good and will definitely visit the house again, only next time perhaps on a weekday when it will definitely be quieter.

There is absolutely nothing I could complain about! I myself have 13 years in fine dining behind me. I even felt so comfortable that I booked again straight away even though I could go home on the day I booked and no reservation would be necessary 🤣 Great staff! Incredibly good breakfast and unique rooms! Since the restaurant wasn't open, I went to Soellmanns (which I found out later belongs to the same owner) and everything here was absolutely great! Thanks for the short vacation despite the two day tattoo session 🫶

Small hotel with exceptional, stylishly furnished rooms. The staff was really accommodating and super nice. We particularly liked the extremely comfortable beds and the delicious, varied breakfast. The restaurant is also recommended.

All right. The breakfast (and I say that as a breakfast person), the rooms, the retro design concept and above all the young, friendly and professional crew. The location is also great. Dinner probably would have been great too, but the opening hours were outside of our stay. The only downside is that the hotel is next to the train tracks. You can't actually hear anything, but the vibrations are so noticeable that I woke up several times. Since the rest is enough for 6*, the point deduction leads to 5* ;-) Many thanks to the team for a short but very nice stay.

My wife Hanlore and I stayed in this excellent house. We liked the bar best, the barman made us incredible cocktails! Even at 3:00 a.m. I had the best whiskey sour of my life!!!! The guests were all in a great mood The rooms are top I can only recommend “Room 69”. We will 100% come back

Definitely not worth another visit

I really liked the room I stayed in, called “Stefan Marx”. Very interesting design! Few but selected pieces of furniture. In my opinion, harmonious with a well-chosen “break in style”. The furnishings of the (doorless) bathroom are very original but stylish, great shower fittings. The only drawback: it was very cold because the radiators hadn't been vented for a long time and I was very cold before I put on everything I had available. The quiet babbling in the radiator as the first two ribs warmed up didn't bother me, it was rather calming for me. The breakfast downstairs in the café really impressed me, as did the meal the night before in the restaurant. The service was friendly and very professional. If I come back to Offenburg, I will happily stay here again.

Real 5 stars: Yes, not exactly cheap in some things, especially the drinks, but: - Great food with high quality and presentation. Thanks to the kitchen, it was delicious. By the way, we had very good portions (not as clear as before). - The service was as it should be. Always there when needed, a keen eye when something was empty, friendly but also witty and spontaneous. Simply professional. Thank you here too. - The ambience is as stylish and cozy as ever. - Costs per person: I think anything between 30 and a lot is possible, depending on your requirements and hunger and especially thirst. An absolute recommendation in Offenburg. Thank you This was my old review: The restaurant is very good but quite expensive (otherwise it would be 5 stars). The portions are not very large, so 2 or 3 courses are necessary. 50€ per person plus drinks can therefore be reached quickly. But quality was very good. Highly Recommended!

We were in the restaurant on Saturday, so I can only rate this: younger service staff address you as strangers without asking and say YOU. That is not how it works. A 0.75l bottle of tap water for €6.50 is placed on the table without mentioning that there is also a 1L bottle of quality water for €6.50. Sorry, as a guest and customer I feel ripped off with overpriced tap water. The food was good but not enough for the price. We will not visit the restaurant again.

I can only rate the cafe. We are here often, sometimes with children, sometimes me and my husband and sometimes just me. The service is always nice and friendly, we feel very comfortable. When it comes to food, we really miss the sourdough pizza, I know it was taken off the menu because of the relatively long preparation time, but I still wanted to say that it tasted fantastic and we would love to eat it again 😊 Otherwise simply sensational sweet potato cheesecake, delicious banana bread cupcakes and also very delicious cookies! The cinnamon roll with vanilla schlonz and the apple crumble are also fantastic… The bagels are good too, but the pizza was unbeatable!

We ate in the cafe today and it was really delicious. Great menu. When it comes to coffee, you can even choose between different types of milk (oat, coconut, etc.). Everything was served and presented very attractively. The background noise is not completely quiet because a lot of the food is being prepared in the dining room, but it doesn't really bother you and gives you the feeling of being right in the middle of it all. Just great here. The store and the people have style. We'd love to come back.

The Z-Café is a cozy and timeless daily for breakfast or lunch break. There are delicious and healthy offerings, from fresh bowls to healthy and homemade smoothies and super delicious breakfasts, especially the scrambled eggs and Bircher muesli are highly recommended :-). We really enjoy coming here and can fully recommend the café. Great service too, by the way.

Sehr schönes, unkonventionelles Hotel in Bahnhofsnähe. Wir hatten ein riesiges Zimmer mit einem großen Bad. Sehr bequeme Betten und ein erstklassiges Frühstück.

Waren nach dem Weihnachtsmarkt in Offenburg mit 8 Personen in der Zauberflöte zum Essen. Es war einer der wenigen Restaurants welche noch Plätze zur Verfügung hatten. Nach unserem Besuch war mir Klar warum. Super Ambiente, lauwarmes Essen, ein komplettes Essen vergessen und trinken durfte man anscheinend gar nichts, da mein bestellter Wein nach dreimaliger Bestellung erst zum Hauptgang serviert wurde, aber vielleicht ist das so in diesem Lokal. Spass haben durften man auch keinen haben, hier wurde Mann dann immer sehr abmahnend vom Personal angeschaut. Also daher werde ich diese Lokalität nicht mehr aufsuchen, da ich derzeit noch Freude habe am Leben. Geht gar nicht 🥴

Wir waren inzwischen 6 Hochzeitstage ( wie heute) und diverse Abende zu Besuch. Ich muss sagen, wir lieben die Speisekarte, die sich immer ändert. Wir lieben die Mitarbeiter (ihre Herzlichkeit). Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das super Essen. Mehr kann man nicht wollen!!!😍😍

Wir waren für ein Familienessen mit 9 Personen im Restaurant Zauberflöte und haben es sehr genossen. Das Essen mit vielen vegetarischen und sogar veganen Optionen war hervorragend. Die Bedienung ware sehr aufmerksam und trotz einer informellen Art sehr professionell und nett. Die Atmosphäre ist außergewöhnlich, uns gefiel sie sehr. Die Weinkarte ist umfangreich und sehr ausgewählt, dabei nicht überteuert. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut in Ordnung.

There is obvious history when the stone steps leading up to the restaurant are so worn. They check you vaccination status on entry, which is good. Inside is warm, with high ceilings and different seating arrangements. The vegetarian selection is good and my meal was tasty. We had excellent local wine and excellent local beer.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend und kommen bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Offenburg gerne wieder!

Einrichtung, Personal, Essen: sehr sehr gut!!! Wir sind Vegetarier, und waren mit der excellente Vorspeise kombination - viele kleinere Gerichte mit einem SUPER Brot, sehr sehr begeistert. Ja begeistert! Wir essen gerne in Restaurants, müssen uns aber meistens mit einem nichtssagender Salat abfinden. Aber nicht hier! Ich denke, das die nicht Vegetarische Gerichte auch sehr sehr gut sind. Hier spürt man die Liebe zum Kunden, Essen und schönes Design. TOP, TOP.

Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, hat mir gefallen! Der Kuchen Top und die veganen Bowls köstlich..Die veganen Bagels auch sehr zu empfehlen.. Die Atmosphäre sehr entspannt im Café..Restaurant/Bar habe ich leider nicht geschafft zu auszutesten.. Wenn es im nächsten Jahr vielleicht noch eine Sorte Kuchen gibt der zuckerfrei ist, wäre top.. Nous cherchions un endroit où dîner à offenburg . Nous nous sommes basés sur les avis des visiteurs.L’accueil est aimable mais on regrette qu’à 15 km de la France personne ne soit en mesure de nous donner les explications essentielles en français. Nous voulions des Negroni mais il n’y en a pas… des spritz mais on nous propose en lieu et place un cocktail maison qui est sans beaucoup de saveur ! Notre choix se porte ensuite sur de la bière à nouveau ce n’est pas possible. Enfin nous optons pour des steaks tartare , convenables mais sans plus ,les pommes de terre sont en supplément et même pas une feuille de salade. Nous boirons finalement un verre de riesling qui est correct. Nous sommes donc très mitigés sur l’avis à donner…rapport qualité prix très médiocre.

Nous avons passer une superbe soireé de réveillon. Le service était à notre écoute et toujours souriant. Repas et vin rafiné. Tables pour 2 personnes et cela est un plus. La décoration est très recherchée, au début un peut surprenant. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir avec nos efants.
