I'm the one doing the Schnackertz. We don't go here regularly, but at least 3-5 times a year with friends. The quality is always very good, and we've never had any complaints. The menu is clear and quite traditional. The craftsmanship is also well-executed. The service is good, friendly, and not intrusive. The atmosphere is rustic and pleasant. It's more reminiscent of a brewery, but in a cozy way. There are certainly nicer restaurants, but we like it and enjoy going there.

We were really looking forward to a lovely evening: a delicious appetizer, a bottle of delicious wine, and friendly service. The mustard roast was also very good, but the liver my wife ordered was unfortunately inedible: so stringy that you could hardly eat any of it. When we asked, we reported this, and the stringy piece was clearly visible on the plate. We didn't demand anything, but offering us a Kölsch and a coffee as a substitute for a completely inedible meal, especially since we had wine, was completely out of line, and we politely declined. We also paid in full for the two Averna beer glasses at the end. Sorry, but when a meal costing over €25 is inedible, I expect some kind of compromise. Schnackerz obviously has enough customers; we won't be coming back, which is a shame…

You can always eat well at Haus Schnackertz. It's a bit more stylish than other breweries, but has the same warm hospitality, making it the ideal choice for a convivial evening in Nippes. I love that they have Tannenzäpfle (a kind of beer) on tap, which makes it twice as delicious.

We redeemed a Groupon voucher for Cordon Blue. Great food, more than adequate portions for the three-course menu, and super friendly, fast, unobtrusive service. We'd be happy to go back. We'll be back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Always good food. Weekly/seasonal specials. Good wine. Competent service. Always busy during peak times! In summer, a few tables outside. Occasionally, small dishes that you rarely come across. This time, I had the burbot fillet from the weekly menu, which was truly excellently prepared! I haven't had such good fish in Nippes in a long time. 😁

As a tourist, the best authentic experience is to find a restaurant that only offers a menu in the local language! This is a neighborhood restaurant with high quality food.

In southern Germany, it would be called a tavern; in Cologne, it would be called a Cologne pub. Schnackertz has a bit of both. In a casual atmosphere, the extremely attentive, friendly service serves good, home-style cooking, top-notch in both ingredients and preparation. Bravo! We'll be back.

A very nice restaurant in the heart of Nippes. The service is very good, quick and with a lot of commitment. Delicious food and a very good selection of drinks. The goose with red cabbage and dumplings was great.

Our visit to the restaurant – mixed impressions Today we would immediately receive a warm welcome from the friendly staff and the atmosphere is attractive. We ordered schnitzel three times and mustard roast once (see picture). The dishes tasted very good, but the portions were a little smaller than we are used to at other restaurants. The Kaiserschmarrn should be for two people. Our table for four people was located relatively in the middle of the dining room. The tables are quite small, which is fine, but we found the placement to be very unfortunate. Two of us had to sit directly on the aisle, which meant that waitresses with full hands and other guests were constantly walking past us very close. During the meal I was even bumped on the arm by a guest because it was so tight. Additionally, the coat rack was right next to our table, which further limited the space. The place was already rather cool, but the constant draft caused by the guests and waitresses walking past made it even more unpleasant. Another problem arose when a wheelchair user had difficulty getting past and asked other guests to get up to make room. A coughing smoker walking right past our table also didn't add to a pleasant dining experience. Of course the restaurant cannot influence the behavior of the guests, but I think the room layout is impractical and needs to be improved. Overall it was worth a visit, but this place won't be a regular stop for me.

We absolutely love being there. We come over often now, especially during asparagus season, because they prepare it simply deliciously. We always like everything else there too! Good wine selection, regional food, own beer, great service for us!!!

Kölsche Original in rustic. Restaurant with wooden tables, rustic but also modern, as the waitresses are young and personal. Homemade food of convincing quality. Mustard roast, mussels, salad with chicken. Everything was good.

Excellent local cuisine, a rarity in today's Germany. Service and ambience also impeccable. The sauerbraten is excellent and the side dish is something a little more unusual.

Yesterday we went to Schnackertz for the first time and without a reservation. Would be warmly welcomed and served in a friendly and prompt manner. The atmosphere was clean and cozy, we felt very comfortable. We ate a sauerbraten and a mustard crust roast. Delicious. The fact that I only give 4 stars for the service has nothing to do with the staff, it deserves 5 stars. I was irritated that bread was given free of charge before the meal. However, the dip had to be ordered for a fee. I didn't know that before.

We ate there for our 22nd wedding anniversary and were thrilled by the regional dishes. The menu is clear and sessoinal dishes and drinks are always offered. It's meadow time at the moment. The service staff is friendly and attentive.

Everything was very tasty and super good service. There were 8 of us there and 2 of us ordered the schnitzel - it was a bit too salty. The waitress immediately brought new ones, which also tasted very good. It can happen sometimes! We will definitely come back again! :-)

We spent a very nice evening here outside. The service is professional, quick, friendly and very patient (:)). If you're not that hungry, you can order a children's schnitzel (which the service itself suggests 👍). This is sensible in terms of food waste, but not self-evident and therefore very nice. The meatballs were very tasty, accompanied by a spicy sauce. The remaining dishes - schnitzel and liver - were also good. Only the potato salad had a little too much vinegar for our taste.

I had dinner there yesterday with my mother, delicious Gaffelkölsch, extremely friendly service and we had a very tasty veal liver Berlin style and the best Viennese schnitzel I had eaten in years - classic with anchovy fillet, caper berries and peeled lemon slice and the cranberries were from fresh, superior quality... Excellent traditional German restaurant, we had a very good meal which was recommended by the waitress and a good pudding, there was no issues with speaking English, I would recommend this restaurant.

Ordered 2x chef cut last Sunday. We were disappointed twice. A chef who puts out something like that doesn't deserve the title. We had the same thing in May, which was perfect.

Bad service, small portions ADDENDUM: The owner's reaction shows that he simply didn't understand it. That's not how you treat customers. If the portion is too small and the staff (service + kitchen) does not treat the guest like a GUEST and correct mistakes, then this has NOTHING to do with any good ingredients. I get better Kasspatzen for less money at other restaurants. By the way, there was way too much cheese in there! But the restaurant has high standards and does everything right... Maybe I still have to apologize for the fact that things weren't right. Your answer adds to the disappointment. I would have preferred to pay nothing for this experience because it gave the evening a bitter note and I even had to buy something outside... FIRST review: We were there with a mixed group of friends and my portion of cheese spaetzle was just very small, so much so that my friends even noticed it. We are certainly not big eaters and that was simply far too little for just €16. I left there slightly full and later bought something for myself outside. Of course I brought this to the waitress's attention and she said she would let the kitchen know. Nothing happened after that! No apology, no allowance, no compensation, nothing! I even had to actively ask what the kitchen had said and the only answer I got was that other guests would be fed. I was charged the full amount and for me it was the last time in Schnackertz with such poor customer service and, in this case, an outrageous price-performance ratio.

Wir dachten wir hätten einen gemütlichen Samstagabend bei netten Gesprächen und gutem Essen. Dem war leider nicht so. Als wir an unseren Tisch geführt wurden, dachten wir wir sind in einer Kita gelandet anstatt in einem Restaurant. Der Raum an sich war schon wenig einladend und ziemlich nüchtern gehalten. Dafür gab es aber eine Kinderspielbox. Nichts gegen Kinder. Aber wenn Eltern es nicht schaffen, Ihren Nachwuchs im Griff zu haben, ist an eine Unterhaltung nicht mehr zu denken. Die Geräuschkulisse war wie auf einer Kirmes. Von 6 Tischen waren in unserem Raum 4 Tische mit Kindern und natürlich deren Eltern besetzt. Was ja eigentlich OK ist. Nur wenn der Nachwuchs den Ablauf des Abends der anderen Gäste so dominiert, dass man sich nicht mehr unterhalten kann, außer man schreit sich an, läuft doch eventuell einiges schief. Ganz zu schweigen von Pärchen, die vielleicht einen romantischen Abend zu Zweit verbringen möchten. Unter anderem wurden die Kinder zum Krabbeln auf den Boden gesetzt, Elektroautos fuhren dazwischen und die armen Kellnern mussten bei dem ganzen Chaos schauen, wie sie unfallfrei das Essen und die Getränke an die Tische bringen. Das ist der Grund, warum es auf der Welt immer mehr Erwachsenenhotels gibt. Zum Essen. Wir waren schon öfter dort, aber dieses Mal war es nicht zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Die Portionen waren sehr übersichtlich. Jemand aus unserer Gruppe hatte als Beilage Kartoffelsalat. Der war sehr, sehr sauer. Das würde auch kommuniziert, aber es gab keine Reaktion darauf. Ein anderer ist nicht satt geworden, sodass wir später noch einen Imbiss woanders nahmen. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen. Schade.

I celebrated my birthday at Haus Schnackertz on Saturday. This was preceded by an uncomplicated coordination with the boss. When we arrived everything was prepared according to my expectations. The food was excellent and the service ensured that we were well looked after at all times and felt completely at home. The ambience contributed the rest. Thank you dear Schnackertz team for a successful evening!

Menu always adapted to the season and appropriate to the season. We are already looking forward to outdoor dining from next spring - this announcement from last year also applies to 2024.

Amazing traditional German food! We had a lovely evening and felt very welcome by the staff Bread and aioli to start with kölsch. Then for mains we had veal ragout with cabbage and fried potatoes. My partner had the Sauerbraten with blaukraut. It was amazing, the meat was so flavourful and tender and the sauces were masterful. For dessert we had Kaiserschmarn with ice cream and roasted plums, then plums came cold which we didn’t expect but the dessert was enjoyable regardless. After we had schnapps and more kölsch. Definitely visit if you are in the area

Delicious Rhenish-style mussels eaten. The food was served quickly. The food also looked good for the others and everyone enjoyed it. However, the roast turned out to be very economical. The country beer is recommended. The service was friendly. We liked the atmosphere.

Das Haus Schnackertz ist seit Jahren eine verlässliche Adresse in Köln-Nippes. Ein Gasthaus an der Ecke, wie man es sich wünscht und wie es immer seltener zu finden ist: Eine entspannte, gepflegte Atmosphäre, ein stets sehr aufmerksamer, gut organisierter und sehr freundlicher Service und eine gute Auswahl an Getränken und Speisen mit saisonalem Bezug. Diese kommen gekonnt zubereitet auf den Tisch und sind fair kalkuliert. Das spricht so viele Menschen an, dass man rechtzeitig reservieren sollte. Eine echte Empfehlung!

Sehr gute Brauhausküche! Was das Lokal von vielen anderen abhebt, ist die Qualität der Speisen zu absolut angemessenen Preisen und der super freundliche und kompetente Service! Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe von ca. 20 Personen dort: alle waren mit ihrem Essen hochzufrieden, ob Sauerbraten, Kalbsleber, Cordon Bleu, Senfrostbraten, Käsespätzle usw. alles war gut. Ich habe die besten Muscheln (Provencale) meines Lebens dort gegessen: riesige, gelbfleischige, zarte fast alle gleich große Miesmuscheln in einer würzigen Tomatenbrühe: einfach KLASSE. Ein großes Lob auch der freundlichen Bedienung mit viel Überblick für alle Wünsche der Gäste, die es auch zusammen mit dem Küchenteam schaffte alle Hauptspeisen fast gleichzeitig auf die Tische zu bringen. Wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste Mal im Haus Schnackertz!

Lecker Essen, Gänsebrust und Keule sehr schmackhaft, nur noch etwas fest. Habe diese zu Hause noch in den Backofen gestellt für 2 Stunden slowfoud und dann waren diese prima.

Eine wunderbare Gaststätte mit sehr leckerem Bier und das Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen!! Besonders das Schnitzel (schöne aufgeworfene Panade) und die Kalbsleber war auch fantastisch. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Nach vielen Jahren nochmal im Schnackertz gewesen. Sehr leckeres Essen mit sehr nettem und schnellem Service in schönem Ambiente. Freue mich schon auf eine baldige Wiederholung ☺️

Gemütliche Gasthaus-Atmosphäre mit sehr guter, frischer und leckerer gutbürgerlicher Küche mit hausgemachten Zutaten (eben auch z.B. die Spätzle der Käsespätzle). Regionales Fleisch (Cordon Bleu vom Eifeler Landschwein) und angemessene Portionen. Der Kaiserschmarrn ist selbst bei manchem Österreicher nicht so schön karamellisiert wie hier. Fazit: Lieber kein XL wie in so mancher gutbürgerlichen Bude, dafür eben solche Qualität.

Muss wirklich sagen Top. Komme selber aus der Gastronomie. Großes Kino auf jeder Ebene. Bis bald mal wieder

Das Essen und Service sind super und von höchster Qualität in jeglicher Hinsicht. Die Damentoiletten und Kabinen sind jedoch sehr abgenutzt und dort war ein starker Uringestank zu vernehmen, obwohl die Toiletten sauber schienen. Das passte nicht zum übrigen Ambiente und Niveau, sondern erinnerte eher an eine stark frequentierte Kneipe. Ggf. müssten die Toiletten erneuert werden und Müllbehälter mit Geruchschutz verwendet werden. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und sind froh, dass Haus Schnackertz in Nippes ist!

Ein Gaumenschmaus, der die Geschmacksknospen tanzen lässt, aber die Wartezeit auf das Essen fühlt sich an, als würde man auf die Zukunft warten. Hier kann man sich kulinarisch verwöhnen lassen, jedoch sollte man Geduld mitbringen.

Nach langer Zeit mal wieder ins Haus Schnackertz eingekehrt und wie immer gut gegessen. Bodenständige traditionelle Küche aus guten Produkten zu akzeptablen Preisen. Da der Laden auch in der Woche gut besucht ist, empfiehlt sich in jeden Fall eine Reservierung.

Heute hat der Abend „im Schnackertz“ einen etwas merkwürdigen Nachgeschmack. Zunächst war meine Online-Reservierung nicht auffindbar und zu allererst war die Vermutung dass ich mich im Datum geirrt hätte. Zum Glück war noch ein Tisch für zwei möglich. Danach gab es leckeres Steak mit Pommes (empfehlenswert) und Meerrettich - und als ich sagte, dass das Steak sehr lecker war, ich aber den Meerrettich zum Steak nicht verstanden habe, merkte ich schon: das war zu viel der Kritik! Kurz - keine Frage mehr nach einem weiteren Getränk - am besten zahl und geh war meine Empfindung. Schade!

Leckeres Essen und freundlicher Service

In geschlossener Gesellschaft Hochzeit gefeiert: mega gut vorbereitetes, freundliches, professionelles Team. Menü-Auswahl inklusive Vorspeisen und Dessert oberes Niveau. Auch Veganers besondere Wünsche wurden respektiert. Ein Hoch auf den Koch / die Köchin! Schönes Ambiente. Selbst bis kurz vor Ende der gebuchten Zeit gab es noch Bedienung - keinerlei Rausschmeiß-Stimmung. Das Hochzeitspaar hatte mit Haus Schnackertz gut gewählt. Vielen Dank für Eure Gastfreundlichkeit, bei der man alles fragen durfte. Die Brautmutter :-)

Ein echt tolles Lokal, gemütlich und ein super gutes Essen, egal was dir empfohlen wird oder von der Speisekarte ! Kann ich nur empfehlen

Tolles Restaurant in Nippes mit klasse günstigen und leckeren Rezepten, nun auch wieder Außen - Gastronomie mitten im Veedel. Rustikal Deutsch aber trotzdem schön und sehr beliebt lecker und bodenständig dazu. Wir kommen gerne her und sind jedesmal wieder begeistert. Auch die Gastfreundlichkeit des Personals ist außergewöhnlich. Klare Empfehlung.
