Haus Martfeld in Schwelm

We have to deduct one star. Anyone who clearly sells a schnitzel as a medallion and then complains, "That's how it is with us," deserves a maximum of three stars. It's a shame they think they have to rip us off.......

I had a spontaneous meal there today with my family, my wife and our children. We were very, very positively impressed. We traveled from Düsseldorf and met up with our Schwelm family there. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. Actually everything was reserved. However, we still got a place. The food was excellent and the price-performance level was very good! Haus Martfeld is a nice meeting place like this exhibition of the artists' guild and for celebrations. With a beautiful outdoor area The exhibition is open until June 3rd.

Absolutely worth visiting, especially with children.

The steak we ordered was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The fries get a grade of two, there could be a little bit more and the side salad, I devoured it... absolutely attentive, friendly and not intrusive staff. Great team. The rooms are nicely divided so that many tables don't come too close to each other.

The restaurant is an A* in terms of ambience and location, the food was okay. Schnitzel was so flattened that you could only taste parinade instead of meat. I found 5 mini crabs in pureed tomatoes to be really overpriced for €13.90.

It's quaint here. Housed in an old moated castle. Service is nice and friendly. The food is delicious 😋 and came quickly after ordering. We wanted to eat schnitzel and were not disappointed. Unfortunately, card payment was not possible, but we were informed of this beforehand! We'll definitely come back

We were there a few days ago with several people We can't complain about the ambience and the service, but we can complain about the taste and the preparation of the food: The meat lacked seasoning and fresh ingredients instead its frozen vegetables, ready-made sauces and, as a starter, a salad with what feels like a slice of tomato and a slice of cucumber. I don't know if there are many positive reviews here really on the current operators and kitchen of Haus Martfeld relate. In any case, the price-performance ratio is no longer right here.

We ate here last Sunday, it was super tasty, the service was very friendly and accommodating, we had a nice, quiet corner table and sat at the table until almost 4 p.m. and were able to chat after dinner. It was a lovely visit and we'll be back soon!

We ate there yesterday with 8 people plus a child and it was great from start to finish! The steak was very good and everyone at the table was very happy. The drinks came very quickly and there was also a great appetizer 🥰 The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

We had our Christmas party there. The food was very tasty, good portion, the service was extremely good. There was always someone from the friendly, cheerful staff nearby. It was just bad luck that the toilet downstairs was broken at the time and we had to walk a long way. And there was a lack of parking space because of the Christmas market. I personally found the arrangement of the tables disadvantageous. Otherwise, highly recommended. PRICE PERFORMANCE: VERY GOOD👍

It was very loud in the winter garden, it had a train station atmosphere, you had to speak to each other very loudly. I had garlic bread as a starter, which was delicious, and then a grilled plate, which unfortunately didn't taste good except for the cevappcici (meat was dry and tasteless). Servich was very nice. It's a shame, but all the best for your future anyway.

Very good price performance. A problem toilets. 2nd floor via a stairwell. A laughing pill also for severely disabled people and wheelchair users without an elevator. The architect and the building authority from Schwelm were supposed to get to the second floor in a wheelchair. How can you plan and approve something like that?

We came in with the bad news: “Card payment not possible. Although two cell phone numbers were provided when making the reservation, no information was received. We waited over an hour for the food. When ordering, I was asked whether the dish would be possible without garlic because of allergies. The answer was yes and unfortunately that wasn't the case. The allergy reaction was very painful!!! It's a shame, I could have ordered something else.

Four of us dined here with a previous table reservation. We can only make one recommendation here. The service is friendly and you immediately feel at home. The food was fantastic. All in all it was a great evening.

For some time now, Schwelm has finally had a permanent restaurant in Haus Martfeld, which provides a culinary setting for the castle backdrop. The menu offers a large selection of Balkan dishes, schnitzels and burgers, without the quality noticeably suffering from this size. The portions are large and the prices are fair. Anyone expecting star-rated food is of course in the wrong place here, but that's certainly not what the owners want. All in all recommended!

The food is fresh, very tasty and more than plentiful. We had 1x turkey schnitzel with Gorgonzola sauce, 1x Schweitzer schnitzel and 1x Schlemmer schnitzel and each a small salad.

Celebrated an 85th and 86th birthday there. It was ok for the age group.

We were there with 8 people, of course I expected that the table in the restaurant was reserved. Instead we were assigned a table on the terrace. That was quite pleasant on this warm summer evening, but the risk of insects taking part in the meal is great. In addition, smokers at the next table affect the enjoyment. The food was of good quality, a little too plentiful, but adequate for people who were very hungry. I would give the service a 4.5 points. What was unacceptable was the fact that the toilets were closed and the only toilet on the second floor could only be reached via 41 steps.

This time we were in the beer garden. It was very nice. We all enjoyed the food and the service was very attentive.

The food is solid, the prices are reasonable. The terrace facing the park is very nice, and the atmosphere inside is also nice. The service is really very nice and friendly, even if there are sometimes waiting times when it's busy.

The Haus Martfeld restaurant is located in the former Schwelm Castle in the middle of a park. The location is impressive with a Balkan kitchen; we sat on the terrace here twice during a rehabilitation stay. The service is attentive and friendly. If the restaurant were close to home, we could sit here more often.

We celebrated my birthday at Haus Martfeld. Instead of the reserved table, we found a large table in the beer garden. The order was made quickly and the drinks came quickly too. The food was served at the same time and very warm and everyone enjoyed it very much. It was quite busy and because of that (or because we were sitting in the corner) the service wasn't really attentive. We could have been sold more drinks, but even with waving it was difficult to attract people to our table. We ordered dessert and left with a fair bill. We'll definitely come here again.

It's rare for people to rate good restaurants - that's what I noticed when I wrote my opinion about another restaurant in Schwelm for the first time. I would like to change that and would only like to make recommendations for the Haus Martfeld restaurant. We have been there over the Christmas holidays, for my birthday and other occasions and it has never disappointed. Neither from the mentality of the service nor from the food you can eat there. Wonderful ambience, with service that can laugh and sweeps over the package with a good mood that is fun to watch. Anyone who is in Schwelm. Go there and leave your hard-earned money there. You will not regret it. Even my vegetarian partner always got full there with different combinations and ideas from the service. It couldn't be better and thanks to the team.

Very tasty and fresh food. Above all, the service and speed are very convincing! We were there on a day when it was quite busy and still had our starter 10 minutes after ordering and the main course another 10 minutes later. But none of this affects the quality. It remains excellent! Overall a very good restaurant. It could only be a little quieter when it's full ;-)

The restaurant was recommended to us, but I have to say: once and never again! Despite reservations, we were placed in the last dark corner. The atmosphere feels like a train station. The quality of the food was okay, but each of the dishes was tasteless. If I quote such prices, I have to deliver accordingly. The price here is in no way proportional to the service provided.

Thank you for a wonderful, perfect first communion celebration. We didn't miss anything. The food was plentiful and delicious. Despite ordering a la carte, 23 people received their food at the same time and no one had to wait. Not every location can do that. The atmosphere is always great anyway and our table in the winter garden was beautifully decorated with the decorations that we were allowed to hand in the day before. The staff was super nice, attentive and organized. It won't be the last celebration here.

We sat on the upper floor and the atmosphere was really great. The service was really very friendly and attentive. As for the food, the portion was big enough, there were three of us there and we enjoyed it. Price performance is really good. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice restaurant in a water castle in the middle of an idyllic garden, beautiful winter garden, rustic interior and outdoor area inviting to relax. The food was very good and didn't take very long. The waiter was very nice and professional. The dog was also welcome.

Very tasty food, all dishes as you wish, exactly to the point, why only 4 stars, if you put your food on a cold plate it cools down quickly, unfortunately. Ambience, yes, you can feel good when ...... your table neighbors light up one cigarette after the other, and at some point you won't like your food anymore. The service was professionally competent and gave us very good advice. Dogs are also welcome there.
