Two people arrived there at 8:00 PM to get acquainted and were surprised to get the "last" table without a reservation. They said they were very lucky and asked us to please make a reservation. It was lively and delicious. As a digestif, we had Williams Christ and high-quality Calvados. A short tour of the premises, including the separate "dollhouse." The ambiance is truly worth seeing.

A very authentic restaurant in the heart of Schwelm. We were there with a group on a Wednesday and had made a reservation. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The side dish is a salad and either a baked potato or toasted bread.

A truly rustic restaurant with charm and plenty to discover. The open grill in the dining room is a real eye-catcher, and the aroma of charcoal envelops you as soon as you enter. The outdoor area is also cozy and offers plenty of space, even for larger groups.

A small menu, "clear" plates, and incredibly delicious. The "few" on the plates was a delight in itself, all handmade. Very friendly and attentive service. I think it will be difficult to get a free table in this cozy restaurant without a reservation. The trip from Leverkusen to the tavern was worth it, and it won't be my last visit.

This restaurant is a real treat. Lots of decor, an open grill, and everything rustic in the old-fashioned style. The food was grilled to perfection and incredibly delicious. It was incredibly busy, but the service was excellent and the atmosphere was always cheerful.

The whole package is just right here! The staff is warm and attentive, and the food is a delight every time. Whether it's making a reservation or paying, everything is straightforward and handled with a smile. One of the few restaurants where you always leave satisfied.

The food was excellent, the service was superb. One criticism is the relatively long wait for the food. And the portions could perhaps be a bit larger. But all in all, the visit was worthwhile.

This restaurant is truly a quaint place. The food is really good. Unfortunately, not everything on the menu was available, hence a * deduction. But the substitute order was also delicious and plentiful. As a welcome from the kitchen, there was bread with lard beforehand. Simple, but good. The restaurant's layout is truly unique: historical pictures, almost antique tables and chairs... Decor that seems to fit the first half of the last century, or even older?! One doesn't know. All in all, the Eisenwerkschänke is highly recommended.

The food was again very tasty!! The service from two young, inexperienced employees was not that inspiring. The experienced employee tried her best, but she can't do everything alone. That was a downer in this great tavern.

We've been going to the ironworks taverns for a long time. Always delicious food there. Salads and also the bowls with the lard to accompany the bread before eating have become smaller and smaller over the years. However, the prices have only increased slightly. The grill master does her job very well, the meat is great and tasty as always. The baked potato and the really awesome sour cream are also highly recommended. Will definitely continue to eat there

We went there again after many years. Unfortunately we were completely disappointed. It is no longer the quality of days gone by. The 200g fillet steak was the same size as the 300g rump steak that was ordered and paid for. The marinade was not a taste experience. The salad is only half as big. Salad dressing and herb butter taste like finished products. The waitress rounded things off appropriately. It's okay to just use first names, but it's not possible to get really cheeky and our fun that evening was finally over. However, prices have not increased as much as we expected. Unfortunately, the balancing act between general price increases and quality was not successful. I would have happily paid more and not been so disappointed.

We have been visiting the Eisenwerkschänke every now and then since the late 1970s. We love the interior style, the atmosphere and especially the food. The service was good. We only go there sporadically because it is always something special for us and we want it to stay that way.

The sweetest restaurant of the area with delicious food made with care almost like at home! Very much worth travelling there even from longer distance ! I will do so again! Thank you for this great experience!!

A really quaint and delicious restaurant. I was totally thrilled. Old kitchen utensils hang from the ceiling everywhere and the restaurant is decorated with all kinds of antiques and rarities. There is always something to look at and discover. The food was very, very tasty. There are various skewers and grilled steaks with delicious side dishes and salad. I can really only recommend it!!

A very quaint restaurant in the heart of Schwelm. Due to the small menu, the owners have specialized in one core and done it to perfection. The meat is super tasty and the atmosphere is very nice. The service staff is extremely nice and accommodating and you get your food quickly despite the hut being full! It won't be the last time I'll be there!

The Eisenwerkschwänke impresses with a rustic and quaint ambience in a charming old building. If you are looking for a special atmosphere, you will find it here. The staff is friendly, but not always as attentive as you would expect from a restaurant that focuses on high quality and service. Small details that make the difference were unfortunately overlooked. About the food: The steak was of good quality, but marinated instead of unseasoned, which doesn't suit everyone's taste. For a price of €110 for two people, I would have liked a taste experience that I couldn't achieve at home on the grill. A positive highlight is the delicious baked potato that was served as a side dish, although the fries were a bit lacking on the menu. The bread could have been improved by spreading it while warm with the excellent herb butter. The mushrooms were also delicious. The onion soup, on the other hand, was rather disappointing and would only get a C in the school grading system. When it came to dessert, it was noticeable that the crème brûlée tasted good, but was served cold - a warm version would certainly have been better. Another point of criticism concerns the Radler, which was only filled to the calibration mark once in five orders, which does not meet expectations. Overall, the food was tasty, but the price-performance ratio and the small weaknesses in the service and the dishes leave room for improvement. Nevertheless, all in all it was a nice evening.

You have to experience the ambience for yourself. Very rustic furnishings and there is always something different to discover. The menu is not overloaded, but the dishes are always prepared the way you want them. In addition, the quality of the meat is really good. And the guys and girls who work there are relaxed, nice and spread a good mood. :-)

The Eisenwerkschänke has been around for a few decades. That's why I like to visit this restaurant, which is decorated with all sorts of knick-knacks, and of course because of the good food. If the weather is good, it's also worth spending some time in the beer garden.

Great restaurant with a very nice garden, everyone will find something to suit their taste on the menu, high-quality products and very friendly service make a visit to this restaurant a celebration. The lamb was grilled to perfection with spicy herb butter and a crisp salad. The cup of fresh fruit and really delicious ice cream was huge. A big compliment to the whole team.

We were invited to a diamond wedding and I have to say that the Eisenwerkschänke is still highly recommended after all these years. Rustic atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, great meat dishes. Served with a large baked potato and a salad, the beef fillet was a real treat. But the rump steak also tasted very tasty. A stroppy lady in service in the dollhouse is not acceptable. After waiting for an hour, we got the information that unfortunately there was a large group ahead - which we accepted with a humorous "we're already hungry" with a smile. Unfortunately, a rude comment came across the counter in our direction: “Well, probably like all the guests here,” followed by icy silence and further waiting. Fillet steak dry and not medium rare as ordered. After the plates were finally on the table, we only saw the waitress come back to pay. We never asked if we had anything else we wanted or if everything was okay. For the price - no thanks. We had dessert in a friendly, service-oriented restaurant in the old town to salvage the end of the evening.

The restaurant was well attended. We had reserved a table and sat in the far corner. But with a view of the grill. The service was humorous but a bit slow. The map is very small. But the food isn't even average. We also waited almost 2 hours for our food. After a while, the fresh air in the restaurant becomes significantly less and you can't look for a window near the open grill. After the visit, you can put all your clothes in the laundry as all items have absorbed the smell. And the prices are just expensive. The toilets here should be banned. Unfortunately no recommendation

Das Essen ist sehr lecker, größten Dank an den Koch. Ambiente ist eher gruselig und total überladen. Der Service total überfordert, da ist echt oft etwas schief gelaufen, wie falsch abgerechnet, dann musste man nachzahlen, falsche Rechnung mitgegeben. Das Essen kamm nach und nach, so dass mein Essen schon kalt war bis ich auf die anderen gewartet habe. Wie gesagt geschmacklich echt toll, alles andere war eher nicht so gut.

Es war alles in allem super! Ich war vor vielen Jahren zu Gast und die Eisenwerkschänke hat nicht an Charme verloren. Dieses Mal werden wir nicht viele Jahre vor einem neuen Besuch verstreichen lassen. Von 100 Punkten vergebe ich satte 99- 1 Punkt Abzug gibt es für die Kräuterbutter. Die war nicht unser Geschmack.

Leider gibt es "nur" 5 Sterne zu vergeben ;D Ambiente wie bei Omma in der guten Stube - einfach Urgemütlich! Der Service ist sehr famililär, sehr freundlich und unterhaltsam. Das Essen ist hervorragend! Unser absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant!
