⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was passing through and stopped by this wonderful restaurant – and what can I say: simply fantastic! 🤩 A wonderful blend of tradition, quality, and service that truly comes from the heart. The food was outstanding. Even though the restaurant was completely booked and we had to wait a bit for our food, the team made an incredible effort. You can immediately tell that they work with passion. 🙌 My absolute highlight: the beef liver 🐂 – the best of my life! I've never eaten anything so tender and delicious. A true taste experience that I will never forget. 👌✨ The portions are huge 🍽️ – it's easily enough for two people. The quality, taste, and quantity are simply unbeatable. A huge thank you to the entire team ❤️ – you're doing a really, really good job. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stop by again. A definite recommendation from the bottom of my heart! 👍😊

Cooking with large amounts of flavor enhancers; there's no dish without MSG. (See photo 4 = MSG) I have no idea what that has to do with good Bavarian cuisine. Add to that a careless pile of raw vegetable salad, cafeteria-style. Bavarian Chinese takeaway. One point for correctly labeling the flavor enhancers.

I've eaten there several times, and the food was always good! Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the staff; they were unfriendly and stressed! It's not our fault as guests; they don't even have table reservations! I won't be eating there again; I'd like to be served in a friendly manner; it's simply part of eating out for us. Besides, I don't want to have to call the waiter several times to order.

We had reserved two seats by telephone in good time for 6:00 p.m. When we arrived they couldn't find the reservation. But there was a short-term solution. We learned that guests after us had a similar problem.

The price/performance ratio is excellent. What detracts from the overall impression, and why we will never reserve there again, is the fact that just 45 minutes after our reservation time, we were confronted with the unprompted question of whether to pay by bar or by card. And it continued inexorably. We weren't loud, we didn't eat or drink anything "mini" (I had my third drink 😉), and we fully understand if a table has to be sold more than once in an evening. That was very unpleasant.

I've never experienced anything so unfriendly in my life. The restaurant was busy because others nearby were closed. We wanted to eat something in the covered beer garden, but it was lightly raining. According to the waitress, no service was available. We had just arrived that day, and we probably should have made a reservation. Ha ha, I'm not recommending this restaurant.

We went there for dinner. Personally, I've never eaten so well in Bavaria. Everything, without exception, was simply excellent. The portions were huge and the taste was more than just good value for money. The selection is plentiful. Everything was very fresh, high-quality, and tasted exactly as you would expect. Friendly service, a wonderful atmosphere, and delicious Kaiserschmarrn! A high chair was even brought out for our little one. The elderflower spritzer had the perfect blend and was super refreshing after a hike.

Every time we holiday in Bavaria, dinner at Haus Göttfried in Tegernsee is an absolute must. It’s not just a tradition, it’s a highlight. The food is consistently outstanding, with traditional German dishes that are both comforting and refined. We especially look forward to asparagus season, which adds a special touch to the experience. And when it comes to Kaiserschmarrn, Haus Göttfried’s version is among the best we’ve ever tasted. Yet what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. Ingrid, who always takes care of us, is the heart of Haus Göttfried. She’s caring, friendly, sincere, and effortlessly professional. Her attention to detail is remarkable, and she treats each guest like family, without the performative polish that’s all too common in restaurant service these days. No request is too much, and her warmth and accommodating nature create an atmosphere that keeps us coming back. On our June visit, the garden was overflowing with guests, while only a few of us were seated inside. Still, the level of care we received never wavered. We were looked after just as attentively, which speaks volumes about the consistency of service here. A heartfelt thank you to Ingrid for making every visit so memorable. We can’t wait to return to Haus Göttfried on our next Bavarian escape.

A traditional, authentic inn in the heart of Kreuth am Tegernsee. We dined together and enjoyed very friendly and attentive service in a wonderful Bavarian atmosphere. Down-to-earth and delicious food, excellent wine (thanks 😍 again for the recommendation!), and a lovely evening! The prices were very reasonable. A true gem in this otherwise very touristy area. We've been there twice now for a long weekend. The rooms are always clean, and the food is delicious. From there, you can do all sorts of things, even with children. We'd love to come back.

We stayed at Haus Göttfried with a group of twelve people for a few days of hiking 🥾 The rooms are perfect for sleeping 🛌 👌 The beer garden and restaurant are very nice 🤩 The quality of the food is simply amazing 🍝🥓🥗🥨🍳🍖 The price/performance ratio is good 👍 The breakfast 🍳 🥣🥚🥯🍞 was also sufficient 👍 The staff is also super friendly, and the price for the overnight stay is also reasonable 🙂 The lady who prepared our breakfast was particularly nice 😊

The service in the restaurant today was extremely poor. If there are no free tables on a Saturday, then I was simply unlucky and would learn from that that I have to reserve a table for next time. But seating me and my mother at a table with the advance warning that it would only be available for an hour is one thing - we accepted this. Handing us the menu, then making us wait 15 minutes, and then telling us that the table is reserved and we have to get up is bordering on cheek. They then offered us the drop-in table as an alternative. We then left because there are other good restaurants in the valley. What annoyed me most personally is that I have recommended this restaurant to others on several occasions, but I will not do that again. Today I ate in a restaurant where we were treated like guests.

Gutes Essen ,guter Service, nette Mitarbeiter, wir haben 4 schöne Tage am Tegernsee verbracht. Matratzen waren gut ,Zimmer nicht blitze blank aber sauber.Der Chef Martin immer freundlich trotz dem vielem Streß. Der selbstgemachte Kuchen mega gut.

Ein super Essen und ein guter Service und das alles zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen immer wieder empfehlenswert. Wir reisen seit fast 30 Jahren jedes Jahr an den Tegernsee und kehren immer wieder gerne beim Göttfried ein. Schon alleine die netten Bedienungen vor allem Inge, Ingrid und Doris sind es wert, dort häufig einzukehren. Wenn wir etwas anderes probiert haben, stellen wir immer wieder fest, dass gerade beim Göttfried das Preis Leistungsverhältnis immer stimmt. Besonders zu emofehlen sind der Spargel sowie das Hirschgulasch und das Schnitzel. Aber auch die Käsespätzle sowie der Beilagensalat oder der panierte Fisch sind sehr zu empfehlen. Fazit: beim Göttfried wurden wir noch nie enttäuscht danke dafür 😀

Anyone who comes in here voluntarily has only themselves to blame. This place hasn't learned what service is. Our reserved table in the beer garden wasn't there. The reservation was lost. None of the three waitresses knew how, wherefore, or what for? Already on the way to the beer garden, a waitress stood behind me and urged me on, saying she had to take the food away. It should be noted that the aisle is less than a meter wide and I was walking with crutches. So much for respect for people with disabilities. When we arrived at the beer garden, we asked for our table. As I said, it wasn't there and no one was interested. Unmotivated and unfriendly conditions that leave guests alone. We were then told to choose a table inside. Everything was free there, after all. Great to sit inside in 30°C, even though we wanted to sit outside in the beer garden. Inside, we weren't given any silly looks. The waiters walked past us several times with menus in their hands. We never got a menu. There wasn't even an apology as to why our table wasn't free. If you're looking for bad service, this is the place for you.

We went there for dinner in the early afternoon and got a table without a reservation. The food was very good. Absolutely reasonable value for money. The staff were all very friendly. We would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarren was a disappointment. From the very first bite, it seemed more like a ready-made product from a packet – both in taste and consistency. Ever since I ate it, it's been sitting heavily in my stomach, which shouldn't be the case. It's a shame, because I was looking forward to a traditionally prepared dish. Perhaps it was a slip-up, but more quality and freshness would definitely be appreciated.

The restaurant is very cozy, with an extensive menu and good drinks, or you can sit outside in the beer garden. It's nice and quiet, with friendly service. Kreuth is a small town about 6 km from Lake Tegernsee, but it's worth the drive.

We went to the restaurant without a reservation, were greeted very friendly and asked to sit at a table. The place was extremely busy, but all the staff always had a smile on their faces. We got the drinks and then the food very quickly. The plate was very generously stocked. It's a shame we couldn't stay at Tegernsee longer. But we'll be back in the fall and then just to eat at Götzfried.

I have been coming for many years as a house guest and of course also for meals. Everything is right, the food is excellent, the service is great and the rooms are very comfortable. There is hardly any fluctuation in service and I always feel very comfortable there, which means I keep coming back. Super!

What we particularly liked was that the host came to the table and asked us if everything was okay. It wasn't the last time we visited the Gasthaus Göttfried.

I don't know the rooms. I don't need the restaurant. The kaspressknödel was mediocre and sat on a bed of lettuce that had been floating in water for what seemed like hours. The frying fat used to cook the schnitzel was simply old and tasted of something but not schnitzel. The best thing was the very friendly service.

This was our second time here with a toddler and dog. We eat out a lot but you have to say the service staff here is very welcoming. Even the first time, the child and dog were warmly welcomed. The staff is quick and even the service that didn't serve us welcomed the child and dog. The food is home-style and very good, and the schnitzel menu is particularly recommended. The very special thing is that the children's menu is extremely cheap, the first restaurant that really understands what a children's plate is and doesn't rip you off. Absolutely recommended, we will come back.

Review for the Gasthof Gottfried in Kreuth: February 18, 2025 My wife, grandma and I had the pleasure of dining at Gasthof Gottfried in Kreuth for lunch. The ambience was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with the family. I ordered a fish platter with five different fish served with a delicious herb sauce and potatoes. The salad rounded off the dish perfectly. The food was really delicious and the quality of the ingredients was excellent. We also tried the juicy, spicy beef goulash with handmade knöpfle and the hearty kale with farmer's sausage. Both dishes were deliciously prepared and exceeded my expectations. We would like to recommend the Gasthof Gottfried as a classic inn with good food culture. The friendly atmosphere, great service and delicious food make this place a must for anyone visiting Kreuth. We would be happy to come back.

No one responds to questions/inquiries - they don't need them

We went for dinner 14 days ago and are unfortunately disappointed! The service was very friendly but the food was mostly unreasonable. The liver with onions was still OK but the puree had the look and taste of wallpaper paste. The meatballs were almost inedible and the sauce was as thin as water and had no taste. A bitter disappointment for us!

We waited very patiently in the entrance area and, when we had the opportunity, asked the waitresses passing by for a table - nothing works at the moment without a reservation. Two women come after us and we chat to them briefly - even without a reservation. You ask and are shown a table 2 minutes later. So something like that doesn't work at all... a few minutes later there were more tables available. Paying also took a long time / you were ignored several times. Kaiserschmarren is very tasty caramelized and with raisins - hence 3 stars overall

This very cosy place welcomed us after a long hike. The place is very well kept, clean and easily accessible when driving through the town of Kreuth. It was hard to pick a dish out of the menu as everything looked very delicious: we opted for the Kaiserschmarrn with vanilla ice in the end. Top notch! I can only say the other guests commenting "best Kaisers. ever" were not lying - indeed delicious :)

If we pass by on the way to or from the Achensee Pass, a stay here is inevitable. The menu is extensive, depending on the season there is an additional menu. The service is quick and very friendly. No matter what we choose, everything is delicious and the portions are more than generous. An insider tip is the Kaiserschmarrn, which is also completely sufficient as a main course. There are also homemade cakes, the pieces in a size that fills you up. Reservations are recommended for lunchtime.

Ich weiß nicht was mit dem Service dort passiert ist. Ich komme regelmäßig dorthin und muss dazu ca 70km fahren. Nun wohl nicht mehr, denn mein Gefühl möchte nicht mehr. Ich liebe das Essen und den Ausblick. Die Chefin ist auch sehr nett und bemüht. Wenn Sie alleine kommen und im hinteren Teil des Biergartens sitzen geschieht es nicht nur einmal, daß Sie nicht beachtet werden. Dies ist mir die letzten drei Mal passiert. Zuletzt wurde ich für 50min ignoriert, bevor jemand zu mir kam. Die Service Damen schauen mich an und laufen an mir vorbei zu den Tischen die gerade erst kamen aber eben mehrere Personen zählen, während ich ignoriert werde. Trotz dezentem winken, rufen, aufstehen etc. Schließlich kommt eine der Damen (nicht ihr Bereich) und nimmt sich meiner an. Ich denke sie hieß Marlene. Danke. Auch wird gelästert darüber dass die Gäste endlich gehen sollen, damit der Garten geschlossen werden kann. Ich bin etwas entrüstet daher helfe ich mir nun so. Dort ist eben immer was los, daher haben es die Göttfrieds nicht nötig auf nur einen Gast zu achten. Herzliche Grüße aus Haidhausen.

I was in the restaurant with my wife for 45 minutes and couldn't even order a drink until that point. When we asked if we could order something, we were dismissed with a curt and impolite reply.

I haven't eaten such a good venison steak for a long time - an absolute tip. We will definitely be coming back soon, so far we only knew the restaurant through recommendations from our friends. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and you sit very comfortably in a rustic environment.

Obwohl wir einheimisch sind, waren wir das erste und letzte Mal im Restaurant Göttfried. Wir hatten ein Freundespaar zu Besuch und gingen auf Empfehlung hierher. Statt an einem für 4 Personen reservierten Tisch zu sitzen, wurden wir an einem großen Tisch direkt am Kücheneingang - und bei anderen Gästen - platziert: Auf unseren entgeisterten Blick erklärte die Kellnerin, das Zusammensitzen mit anderen sei hier so üblich. Meiner ausdrückliche Bitte, uns wenigstens einen Tisch nicht am Eingang zur Küche zu geben, kam unsere Bedienung nicht nach (obwohl ich freie Plätze und einen reservierten noch freien 4er- Tisch in der Stube entdeckte und ihr dies auch sagte). In dieser Kantinenatmosphäre schmeckte mir das Essen nicht und ich schäme mich, dass wir unserem auswärtigen Besuch, den wir nur 1x im Jahr sehen, so einen "unvergesslichen Abend" bescherten.
