A nice restaurant in itself with a good breakfast selection. However, I find over €5 for a tea bag to be outrageous. The tea prices weren't listed on the breakfast menu online either. Furthermore, they only served small pots of tea, which you couldn't share between two people.

Just popping in for a beer. Always good and nice.

Unfortunately not, it's like sitting in a train station concourse, with the service completely inattentive and at times bored! The breakfast was OK, average, but the prices are sometimes outrageous. The quality, service, and ambiance are simply convincing. Just as good, fair-trade restaurants were until recently. Exemplary. This time, for coffee and homemade plum cake.

Imagine you're sitting in a beer garden on a Sunday and you realize there's a concert starting at 7 p.m. The motto: "free and open-air." About an hour before the concert begins, new drink menus are placed on the tables, explaining that the prices are being raised significantly for the concert. If you already have to pay €5.20 for an apple juice spritzer, I think it's a disgrace that you suddenly have to pay €6 at 7 p.m.

I'm writing this review after a brief visit to the beer garden. We were back at the Haus am Walde for the first time in a long time, wanting to grab a bite to eat and a drink from the snack bar outside. We were surprised that, despite the wonderful summer evening, many seats were still empty. After reading the menu and the prices on the board, it became clear: the food options, aside from an overpriced tarte flambée for a snack, only included bratwurst, baked potatoes, and fried potatoes. Compared to before, there was simply too little – back then, among other things, they also served meatloaf... The drink prices have also gone up. For us, going there is no longer an alternative! A real shame, because it's otherwise a very nice place to stop for a drink!

One of my favorite places to have breakfast: in the dining room in winter, outside on the terrace in summer. Later in the summer, the wasps on the terrace can sometimes be annoying.

Good for coffee or a beer. Not really suitable for dinner. We didn't like it at all.

After work, we had one salad with chanterelles and one pasta with chanterelles. As soon as we entered, the waiter greeted us and said a table would be free soon; very attentive. The positive impression continued with the food. My salad was delicious, and my companion found her pasta delicious and al dente. We'll definitely be back.

The beer garden is spacious, with plenty of room—and it's always packed with guests during events. There's no service outside, so you have to get your drinks and ordered food yourself, which I think is okay. The food was delicious 😋, and I had a decent portion on my plate.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food varies. I ate there 3 times and 2 times it was very tasty and 1 time it was satisfactory. The service was so-so, depending on who served you. All in all, it's a nice restaurant where you can eat good, home-style food at moderate prices.

A beautiful and spacious beer garden: shaded by old chestnut trees, with plenty of space in the sun—a wonderful garden atmosphere. Located on the edge of Bremen's city forest and Bürgerpark, and in the immediate vicinity of the Munte (city hall), the pleasant ambiance and culinary offerings invite you to linger. The large garden offers quiet spaces and opportunities for a variety of events.

We came here for coffee on a Friday afternoon and sat on the terrace. It was so lovely. We had coffee first and then ordered a slice of cake with whipped cream. Of course, you can have it without it ;-)) The service was excellent. Thank you for everything.

Beautiful location in the countryside, but unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. I haven't had to add so much seasoning in a long time. The pesto verde with three asparagus tips was very disappointing. A shame.

Yesterday, as an encore to the ambience, the DJ played techno sounds that bordered on physical assault. My criticism was met with a succinct reply from the service team that no one was forcing me to stay. That's how I've been, and that's how I'll keep it...

We sat on the self-service beer benches. Simple, very good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

The atmosphere is great, but unfortunately the rules for the service staff are not at all service-oriented. There were three of us outside with two dogs. Apart from the beer mats in the water, it was great for the dogs. Not everything has to be dog-friendly. We wanted two steaks and a side of chips. But that wasn't possible. I could order a chip with my steak, but then no one else was allowed to eat it. Seriously, I asked. I've never heard of anything so stupid. If all three of us had just wanted a chip and water, no question. Then a snack bar would have been more appropriate. But like this?! Such a shame, I always loved going there.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and spontaneously stopped in for lunch. The weather was nice, and we sat on the outdoor terrace. The service team was very attentive, nothing to complain about. The food was delicious and the value for money was reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely terrible service. Everyone refers to each other and then gets stupid answers. The beer garden doesn't open until 1 p.m., and hot food isn't available until 45 minutes later.

We spontaneously went to eat at Haus am Walde this evening. The beautiful weather allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the pleasant ambiance, the good service, and the delicious food. You can choose your own table outside, but reservations are recommended inside. We were very pleased with our decision to make the short walk from our hotel through a small forest to this location. Highly recommended: Fresh herring with sauce, salad, and fried potatoes. Super delicious. Or chicken breast with Mediterranean vegetables. Excellent. Friendly and attentive service from a pleasant waitress. The terrace is accessible via a paved path with a wheelchair or walker in good weather. A Lego ramp leads into the house. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask about the restroom situation in the restaurant. If the owner could comment on this, that would be great. We also really enjoyed the opportunity to relax in lounge chairs on the lawn in front and order food and drinks from the self-service area.

On Ascension Day/Father's Day, they can't sell the first bratwurst outside before 1 p.m. because the staff can't operate the grill. Staff at Haus am Walde yell at other guests who complain about the wait time. Skilled staff are hard to find, but that's just not how it works!

Whenever I visit Bremen, I look forward to a portion of Knipp at Haus am Walde. It's a bit heavy on the stomach, but crispy fried and served with pickles, applesauce, and fried potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Plus, an overall friendly atmosphere.

The food was unfortunately disappointing – ranging from "not at all" to "just about okay." The asparagus soup was extremely salty, and the asparagus itself was almost tasteless. The Wiener schnitzel was more reminiscent of pre-fried frozen food, the kind you'd expect at a gas station at best – and that at a price of over €30 for the asparagus and schnitzel dish. Unfortunately, it wasn't a culinary delight. However, I would like to highlight the service – it was truly first-class!

Service that's virtually unheard of in Bremen and the surrounding area. The food, cakes, and drinks are delicious, albeit relatively small in quantity and expensive. But: I'd rather eat less if it's delicious. You can really enjoy yourself here. It's also very suitable for larger groups and families with children.

Good response! We were there with a larger group and ordered an asparagus menu. Unfortunately, the asparagus soup was a disaster. A mess of flour with no flavor or seasoning, and no asparagus pieces. The service, however, was first-class: no arguments, but reasonable compensation—that's customer service. The main course and dessert were good. The service was excellent throughout the evening. The location was otherwise very nice.

The service was truly inattentive; everything took forever. It was only a Thursday and the restaurant was half full. What do they do when it's really full? The starters and side dishes were good. I had schnitzel with asparagus. It looked like flattened, pressed meat and tasted like it, too; disappointing. My husband had the "large steak," which was bland; it was supposed to be medium, but it definitely wasn't. The ambiance and location were great, but that wasn't enough for us. It was our wedding anniversary. I can't recommend the food there.

Visit 09/2023: The wine was excellent, the ambiance was very pleasant, and the food was quite good. There aren't many vegan options. The restaurant itself was quite loud. There's hardly anything to dampen the noise. Due to the lack of choice and the price, I deducted one point for the food and one point for the overall rating.

Frühstück! Looked fantastic with lots of fresh fruit and different types of fresh toppings. More than enough. We had a delicious meal on a sunny terrace before we went for a walk and enjoyed music in the park last May 1. Friendly and accessible service. Nice terrace, the restaurant inside also looked nice, clean toilets. Saw a lot of diverse and fresh pastries in the display case. Top address

Beautiful place but unfortunately a little inflexible - you are not allowed to move a chair from inside to outside for a person who is sick and cannot sit well on the hard garden chairs, so unfortunately we had to sit inside. A little more flexibility and less stuffiness from management would be great 👍

The Haus am Walde is very beautiful and idyllic. However, the service is very slow and not overly friendly. The piece of cake was quite okay.

Very nice location. In the summer in the beer garden outside. The best thing is when there is live music playing on stage. Admission free! In winter there is delicious regional and international food inside.

We are currently in the beer garden of this restaurant and I have never had to wait so long for a drink. It's busy, but definitely not full. There is no queue at the stand and yet. The tarte flambée is there, already cold, no trace of the drinks. It tastes ok, but for the steep price I would like something that tastes more than ok. I'll probably die of thirst here too 🤣 Last time.

Nice beer garden, I find prices to be a bit high for self-service. In the media area, nice staff, prices are also on the higher side. This is probably due to the location on the edge of Bürgerpark.

We had a nice family dinner at Easter. Our meals were well prepared and nicely presented. As a regular visitor to Bremen, I was surprised at the higher prices - which is somewhat understandable. The service was friendly and our waiter knowledgeable. The women's bathroom was not well kept at all - somewhat shocking, given the high prices.

We celebrated a family celebration with 16 people at Haus am Walde and were there at lunchtime. We discussed everything in advance and had a nice, smooth preliminary planning and communication over the phone and also via email. When we arrived everything was beautifully decorated and set. We got flowers for the table decorations at the flower shop on Hartwigstr. ordered, they were then delivered directly there. Due to the number of people and because we could eat a la card, we announced the food three days in advance. This made the process run smoothly; first the starters, then the main courses and later the dessert were always served to all guests at the same time. All dishes were super tasty and hot when they arrived at the table. The operation is also particularly noteworthy. The waiter was sensationally friendly, always had a joke and responded promptly to all requests, and all the other waitresses were also very accommodating. There are only 4 stars for the ambience because it is quite loud in the large hall when there are a lot of guests there. We were lucky that most of the guests finished lunch and left, so we were able to have a good chat. Beer garden is very inviting. Parking spaces are available but are in high demand. Although the restaurant was busy, the service went smoothly. We would like to thank everyone who helped ensure that we had a great celebration at Haus am Walde. Four years ago I really liked it there. Now on the weekend, with great weather in April, very full, but lots of nice waiters. It's very nice to sit there. Unfortunately, no one was impressed by the food. Our sweet potato fries were...yes you could say almost burnt. That they are then served... Luckily, a second waiter gave us a discount. The avocado bread for around €14 didn't look very appealing either. Simply packaged bread, thinly spread with cream cheese and slices of avocado. Luckily there were 2 fried eggs on top. Why do you use such discount bread for this? You can also have breakfast in this cafe, so fresh bread would certainly be appropriate. Well, the service staff were nice, the atmosphere is very nice. It's so nice to sit there. We would probably have done better with coffee and cake.

We were there for cake, and my cake was okay. The ambiance isn't my cup of tea. The painted portraits on the wall are a matter of taste, but the acoustics in the room aren't. It was difficult to have a conversation at the table.
