Haus am Walde - Café * Biergarten * Restaurant in Bremen

Ich bin diesen Sommer mit meiner Frau fast 10 Mal dort eingekehrt. Meistens haben wir im Garten gesessen und haben es sehr genossen. Es war oft der „ältere“ Kellner, der uns bedient hat. Alte Schule, würden wir sagen. Wir trinken nun gern sehr kalten Weißwein, das hat er sofort verstanden, den Röhrenkühler wieder mitgenommen und uns sofort einen richtigen Kühler mit Eis und Wasser gebracht. Und noch etwas Eis extra in einem großen Glas. Perfekt. Beim nächsten Mal hat er uns gleich erkannt und uns sofort einen richtigen Kühler gebracht. Seine etwa gleichaltrige Kollegin tat es ihm bei unseren nächsten Besuchen gleich. Nun hatte ich mich mit meiner Nichte am 14.10. zum Mittag dort verabredet. Ich freute mich sehr auf dieses Treffen. Ich traf als erster ein und ging zur Theke, um zu fragen, ob ich mir einen Tisch aussuchen könne. Der Barmann fragte „haben Sie eine Frage“. Ja, kann ich mir einen Tisch aussuchen, fragte ich. Mit wenig Freundlichkeit bejahte er dieses. Es kam dann eine junge, blonde Frau mit Kurzhaarschnitt und brachte mir die Speisekarte. Ich bestellte eine Flasche Mineralwasser und eine Flasche Weißwein mit der höflichen Bitte, mir einen richtigen Kühler mit Eis und Wasser zu bringen. Zwischendurch fragte ich noch, ob es vielleicht auch eine Abendkarte gäbe, aus der man vielleicht bestellen dürfte. „Dann hätte ich Ihnen die gebracht“, war die unfreundliche Antwort mit unschönem Gesichtsausdruck. Dann kam der Wein im Röhrenkühler. Immer noch freundlich weiß ich darauf hin, das ich um einen Kühler mit Eis und Wasser gebeten hatte. „Im Röhrenkühler ist ja Eis“, kam es jetzt pampig. Auf meine erneute Bitte, mir einen „richtigen“ Kühler zu bringen“, hieß es dann, „haben wir nicht“. Ich zeigte auf den Kühler, der auf der Theke stand. Nun wurde sie heftig und bezichtete mich ihr gegenüber unhöflich zu sein und das sie sich das nicht bieten lassen würde. Ich habe ihr dann gesagt, ich gehe jetzt nach Hause. Das hielt sie aber nicht auf, laut durch das ganze Restaurant ihren Unmut auszulassen. Als ich auf dem Weg nach draußen war, kam mir die „ältere“ Kellnerin entgegen. Ich fragte Sie an welchen Tischen sie bedient. Wieder kam die junge Bedienung und raunzte sehr laut dazwischen, das ich mich von ihr ja nicht bedienen lassen wolle. Richtig, nie wieder! Ich setzte mich dann an einen anderen Tisch. Ich war hochgradig erregt, als meine Nichte eintraf. Die junge Bedienung hat sich dann an den Nachbartisch zu zwei Damen meines ersten Tisch gesetzt und alle drei haben, während sie redete, unentwegt mich angesehen. Auch danach schaute sie mich auf ihren Gängen unentwegt arrogant an. Mit Ihren Kellner Kollegen suchte sie ständig den Austausch und sah zu mir herüber. Ich war sicher, das die Restaurantleiterin sich im Gastraum aufhielt, auch saß sie zeitweise an unserem Nachbartisch. Sie hat mich nicht angesprochen, um die Sache zu deeskallieren. Später kam noch ein jüngerer Kellner, der alles perfekt gemacht hat. Meine email an den Geschäftsführer, mit Bitte um Rücksprache, wurde aber von der Restaurantleiterin beantwortet, die es ja schon vor Ort nicht für notwendig hielt, eine Klärung herbeizuführen. Oder sich gar für das Verhalten ihrer Mitarbeiterin bei mir zu entschuldigen. Solche bedienenden Menschen, die keinen Respekt vor Rentnern haben, deren Wünsche ignorieren, keine Art von Erziehung zeigen, laut ihren Unmut durch das ganze Restaurant rufen, braucht die ganze Gastronomie nicht und deren Gäste auch nicht. Dann lieber drei Ruhetage oder Roboter, die mich bedienen. Nun, 15 Tage nach meiner Bitte nach einem Rückruf des GF, dem ich meine Unzufriedenheit mitteilen wollte, braucht mich niemand aus dem Hause mehr anzurufen.

The selection is quite good but the prices are very high. At least twice as expensive as here in Vechta with a comparable selection and quality. I waited over half an hour for the bottle of water I ordered.

Bei einem Ausflug besuchte ich mit einem Freund mittags das Lokal, bekam einen guten und preiswerten Mittagstisch mit freundlicher Bedienung und gutem Getränkeangebot. Hier kann jeder etwas finden und wird zufrieden sein, ohne viel Geld zu lassen. Besonders bei schönem Wetter auch draußen zu empfehlen.

Food was delicious, service was good, we were outside, I wish I had been offered a pillow under my butt and a blanket to warm myself from the service so that it was cold. Of course I could have asked too.

Had dinner there for two last night. The ambience in the older part was very nice, in the large newer part it was a bit like a youth hostel. The food was very good. But... the service - a young lady and the only female service that evening - seemed very snooty and very unmotivated. My companion constantly ignored her. It's a shame that I didn't read the many bad reviews here beforehand...Guests are not beggars, but pay the salary!

A very nice evening in a larger group with delicious food and attentive service was unfortunately ruined by the drunk and bullying manager of Haus am Walde. Even when the misunderstanding he was caught in was cleared up, instead of apologizing and giving us a round on the house for his absolutely unbecoming behavior, he continued to rant and then threw us out. It's a shame for the employees, if I were them I would be ashamed of such a boss.

Wir haben hier das beste Steak unseres Lebens gegessen, absolute Weltklasse! Nachdem wir schon von dem leckeren Lachsfrühstück begeistert waren, sind wir abends gleich wieder hier her! Alles sehr sauber, tolles Ambiente und sehr nette Bedingungen!

Unfortunately, I observed a very unpleasant situation in Haus am Walde last night. The manager became abusive towards a guest, a woman. She clearly wanted to clarify the situation. But he suddenly became loud, brought his face within a few centimeters of her and grabbed her arm. He entertained part of the restaurant with loud, confused accusations; it seemed to me as if he could be drunk. I found that a shocking way of dealing with people and I won't go there again.

We were here at a company party. Drinks, food and service were great. At 10:30 p.m. the manager shows up drunk and attacks one of our employees with male dominance behavior, even though everything had been agreed upon with the other employees. Very unpleasant for us and obviously embarrassing for the employees at Haus am Walde.

Leider konnten wir unseren Jahrestag nicht feiern. Auf der Google Infoseite waren leider Falsche Angaben hinterlegt 🙁 Eingang und WC . Ich als ♿️Pilot achte da sehr drauf. (wurde bereits angepasst) Das Restaurant ist leider nicht barrierefrei! Es hätte aber Hilfe zum eintreten angeboten werden können durch eine Angestellte. Ich hätte mich gefreut wenn es bei der Reservierung schon erwähnt worden wäre.

The chanterelles and scrambled eggs were very tasty. Unfortunately the fried potatoes were very greasy and old, so they weren't that tasty. Very nice service 😊

We went to Haus am Walde for breakfast. It was very tasty and plentiful. The staff is super nice and friendly and tries to fulfill all your wishes. We can recommend Haus am Walde to everyone. It was really great.

I stopped at the “Haus am Walde” with my partner as part of a bike tour. We had a vegetarian tarte flambée and a beer. The atmosphere in the beer garden was very appealing and cozy!

Very nice, quick-witted service from the head waiter or head waiter, I don't know his job title, but it doesn't matter, he was just good... We sat very well and protected from the wind near the entrance on a hedge. The coffee and the respective cake were perfect.

I waited at the table for 15 minutes and didn't even get the menu, the restaurant wasn't even full, if you are hungry or can't wait all night this restaurant is not a good option.

Very cozy outdoor terrace that invites you to linger. Friendly and attentive service. Unfortunately the food is rather bad. Completely unseasoned, sometimes cooked too soft. It's not at all a negative thing that the portions are too small. We had three different main courses and were not happy with any of them. The worst was the curry. The starter plate for 2 people is good quality, but WAY too expensive. We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately it was very disappointing! Haven't been here for a long time. Prices have skyrocketed and are disproportionate for what is ultimately on the plate. Rarely have such a bad breakfast been offered. Service, as often mentioned here, is quite arrogant and not customer-oriented. The dirty dishes stood in front of us for almost an hour, even though someone was constantly walking past our table. I was here last time and will visit other places for breakfast in the future. Putting a carafe of tap water on the table for €7.50 is really audacious. It's a shame I used to come here regularly... because the atmosphere is actually quite nice...

The service was friendly, but the time between serving the cake and the hot drinks was a bit long at 10 minutes. My piece of plum cake tasted good, but there was hardly any dough on one side. I wouldn't have served the piece to my guests like that.

Went to the open air event on July 19, 2024 and ordered 3 Leberäse at the counter. Then it was cold. I went to the counter and asked to warm up the meatloaf. As I write this, I'm still waiting here in front of the counter. It's been at least 20 minutes so far. Lots of customers come and get their tarte flambée etc. I'll wait.

Service very nice and accommodating. A little louder than usual. Food rather less good. Meat too dry, vegetables not seasoned. The quality of the food was better.

Nice atmosphere, good food at high prices. However, the service did not correspond to the level that the restaurant exudes. The (male) waitress was clearly unmotivated and reluctant to take the order. Even later, people asked for further requests in a rather annoyed manner. When paying, he became really rude: because it took too long for the card reader to recognize my debit card, he snatched it out of my hand, put it on himself and told me not to wave it around like that! Due to my "incompetence" I had probably cost him a few seconds of his long-awaited end of work... Even if you're having a bad day and don't feel like it, you shouldn't take it out on your guests, because that's why they definitely won't come back!

Idyllically located on the edge of the Bürgerpark, plenty of parking spaces, outdoor dining with small dishes and self-service service, beer table sets. Main house with two halls, on the right bright, open and with a fireplace, on the left a bit dark...and you feel like the fifth wheel of the car. There is also a terrace with tables and service. The price is pretty high and considering that everything is freshly cooked, our food came pretty quickly. My companion's Kikok chicken looked and tasted nothing like the one we know from our dealer at home. My broccoli was damn near raw and unfortunately I couldn't find the almond leaves. But everything tasted good. The sauces were well seasoned without being overly seasoned. The quantity was fine and the food wasn't drowned in sauce. I had to laugh a little or roll my eyes at the steak from the heifer. Small 120 grams, can you see that with the naked eye? Large 220 grams, as a woman I can't get enough. And then a price just under 40 euros. At some point it stops. The waitresses were friendly, just not as attentive as you would like. The empty plates sat on the table for quite a long time. Then we were asked if we would like something more to drink. One companion didn't want anything, two others ordered, I was just at my bag and turned around when the waitress left again. When I brought the drinks I ordered, I ordered a 0.33 bottle of Sprite, which was brought after 20 minutes and another 5 minutes later, without a new glass with ice and lemon. If I'm nearby, I might sit in the beer garden. The restaurant has to wait, I have to digest that first. The self-image differs greatly from my first impression. Maybe we were just unlucky because there were 4 larger parties in the other room. I don't know it

Open air was great. Unfortunately it was full and expensive on Men's Day. But good atmosphere and good beer: recommendation.

Very mixed. Nice location. Some of the staff were very friendly, they really tried hard and did a great job. However, an employee stands out negatively due to her unfriendly and inappropriate behavior. Middle-aged, blonde-colored woman who doesn't enjoy her job much and, above all, has little interest in giving her guests a nice experience ("Do you really want to sit at the DIRTY table?!" accompanied by the appropriate facial expression). For what? We just arrived and are already paying for something? How pathetic. And now for food... ..Wedding Soup? Dear chef...that was nothing...please go eat at Grandma's...the cabbage was made into mass, the seasoning was cooked out of the sausage and the dessert?? Vanilla sauce thin as water with thawed fruit? I'm not a gourmet. A joke. I'm really upset about the food. Over 700 euros and the DJ was also weak... moved people with Ballermann music, it really wasn't a hit... bottled schnapps chilled like woodruff? Even upon request, it was only available lukewarm... I didn't order any traditional Bremen food, but an aglio olio. It was really quite good... I would have liked a little more spiciness, but as we all know, Bremen people don't eat that spicy 😉... the asparagus soup my companion made was really very good...

We were in the beer garden with 5 people. The food and drink were delicious and the prices were reasonable. The beer benches are a bit uncomfortable in the long run, but it's easy to bear in the shade. The service was good and friendly.

Always a nice place to drink coffee

Unser erster Besuch war am Mittwoch vor dem Feiertag " Vatertag" . Das Speiseangebot war gut und es lag noch eine Spargelkarte aus. Der Service war aufmerksam, kompetent und freundlich. Das Essen war lecker zubereitet. Auf der Terrasse konnte man zwischen Sonnen-und Schattenplätzen wählen. Am nächsten Tag waren wir noch einmal dort. Im direkt angrenzenden Biergarten spielte eine gute Band und der Biergarten war bei dem wunderschönen Wetter sehr gut besucht. Auf der Terrasse fanden wir dieses Mal keinen Platz, aber im Gastraum, wo auch die Getränketheke ist, hatten wir einen schönen Tisch. Wir wurden freundlich willkommen geheißen und erhielten sehr schnell die Karte und dann auch die von uns bestellten Getränke. Das Servicepersonal war sehr gut organisiert und blieb auch im größten Stress freundlich. Auch dieses Mal waren wir mit unserer Speiseauswahl sehr zufrieden. Besonders erwähnen möchte ich Christina, welche durch ihre angenehme, freundliche und kompetente Art für die Gastronomie ein Glücksfall ist. Aber auch die anderen Kolleginnen und Kollegen, ob im Ausschank tätig, in der Küche oder im Service, zeigten an diesem Tag eine sehr große Leistungsbereitschaft. Vielen Dank dafür, wir wissen das sehr zu schätzen.

Very nicely located restaurant with an extensive menu and good food. Service very friendly and attentive. We were in the large "hall" with a group of 8 people and the restaurant was full. Unfortunately, we could hardly converse with each other because the acoustics were terrible and the noise level was enormous. That's why only 3 stars.

Actually a pretty good place. It was Captain Candy there. But what I don't understand is the 50 plus age group who all also have money and want to spend it. The one at the beer cart, 3 people, 1 guest. The innkeepers complain that they don't have any staff. Yes, why? The restaurateurs themselves are all so unmotivated and don't instruct their staff properly at all. Because you have to remember one thing: only if the service is good, there is really good sales, tips and if the landlord also pays an extra bonus to the staff. Then the word gets around among the staff and they want to work there too. I ran away because I didn't feel like fighting. And there were several of them.

We ordered beer at the separate beer stand (to the left of the stage), which at €5.40 for 0.4 wasn't cheap anyway. Unfortunately, the beer wasn't even poured to the mark we mentioned. We were rudely attacked by the tapper, which is not possible. We were told that it would not be possible to limit more... Hello??? We are from the catering industry ourselves and know that there is a different way. Very, very sad and disappointing. And rip-off on top of that.
