Were there for the first time on the recommendation of the family. The expectations of the “Harzer Schnitzelkönig” were very high, but unfortunately the food disappointed us very much. But my biggest disappointment was when I first looked at the menu - there were no veal schnitzels. But the waitresses were very nice and polite. We would have given 5 stars for that! Luckily we were there late lunch/early afternoon (without a reservation) during the week and there were only a few seats occupied. So we had a free choice of places and relative peace and quiet. I definitely don't want to be here during rush hour. If it was fully occupied, it would have been far too loud and had a train station feel. But it was very pleasant in the quiet atmosphere and the ambience was also good. Service and food also came quickly. We also really liked the rustic decor and it fits the whole theme. Although it was very empty at the time of our visit, the parking lot was full (as well as various restrictions due to construction work) Nevertheless, we wouldn't come here a second time. The schnitzels were just “OK” for us, way too thick and quite tasteless. It's a shame because we really had very high expectations. You should only come here if you like bulk/large or very large portions, but not if you fancy a really tasty, juicy schnitzel.

We have been going to the Schnitzelkönig for years. The food was delicious every time we visited and the service was also really great. During our visit yesterday we were just wondering why a quarter of a cucumber was used as decoration on the plates, hardly anyone ate this large piece (neither did we). We liked the small salads that we used to have much better. I found the mini cole slaw particularly tasty.

Service super friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good again

This is an XXL restaurant with great service and a high-quality ambience. I can only recommend this restaurant for small and large hungers and especially for every xxxl hunger. Also pay attention to your health with the large portions :) Be sure to make a reservation in advance, this can also be done online, otherwise you will end up in the “waiting area”.

We have been to the Schnitzelkönig several times and it is always an experience. The selection of food is great. It tastes great. And the service is top.

Yes, what do you want to say about the HSK? Over there... It couldn't be better. Are there about 3-4 times a year. Unfortunately, the journey is longer. There is never anything to complain about. Food has been consistently at a top level for years.

This is one of the best shops I have ever visited, the schnitzel and especially my favorite food, currywurst, are super tasty and perfectly seasoned. I can recommend the shop to anyone who wants large and small dishes.

Service very nice. Food came very quickly and was actually very tasty. Chilli cheese sauce was too little and so were the chillies. I miss the little salad bowls. Clumps of cucumber and 1 small cocktail tomato are just stupid. Pillows would be very nice. We were seated apart (at the entrance) even though I had pre-ordered several weeks ago. The toilets are now very stylish with nature sounds.

It's okay, but given the hype and the prices I would have expected more. Schnitzels are all the same, just with different side dishes/sauces etc. I would have liked an original Viennese schnitzel, but unfortunately it doesn't exist. The taste was okay, but we certainly won't be coming again.

Ate 250g schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes, the food was good and enough for me. The service was very nice, friendly and quick. All parking spaces were occupied and you had to search. There was a wait of 20 minutes in the restaurant until we were assigned a table. Prices salty.

Food was good, but of course not top cuisine. What surprised me positively was that there are also some vegetarian and vegan dishes. We waited about 30 minutes for our table, which I did on May 1st. think it's ok. In the “waiting area” there are bar tables and you can have a drink.

I can only recommend the restaurant. My husband had seen a video, I think on Tiktok, and really wanted to go there. We weren't disappointed. The meat was very tender and you could tell it was of good quality. We were there with 3 people and everyone was thrilled. You can choose the portion size yourself, from small to xxxL, everything is possible. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Keep it up. If we're in the Harz again, we'll definitely come back. Unfortunately, the only thing that wasn't enough was parking spaces. But we still found a free parking space in the side streets.

The food today was a big disappointment. The steak was completely tough as a shoe sole. Side dishes were good to eat. But we won't take the journey again because it's not enough.

Food itself was good. I had the Schnitzel Hawaii. Unfortunately, the schnitzel tasted a bit dry and bland if you ate it without the cheese and pineapple. Fries were OK. As a decoration, a small piece of cucumber was cut into a zigzag shape at one end and a small tomato was skewered on it. Looked a bit dull, so could still be improved. Service staff came to the table more often when we were eating. A bit often. But then it wore off as we ate our dessert. Cream was just a little too much for me personally. We were there for the first time. It's nice and bright. There are enough tables, some of which vary in terms of the number of seats. The toilets are clean and you are accompanied by natural sounds (including birds chirping). Various parts of the resin are shown on a large screen. All in all I can recommend it.

It's basically about the huge portions. I wish the service had asked if you needed a second drink, so I only give it two stars. The curry sauce from the currywurst was too sweet for me personally.

Yes, I can highly recommend it. These masses of food are not for me, but I didn't order a schnitzel either ;-). My friend's schnitzel was extremely tasty. My food was also very good, a good combination of selected ingredients, only the cucumber salad was a bit "nasty", but everything else was very tasty. A vegan dish with a few beef strips as a topping. Great service, very attentive but not intrusive. The ambience is rustic and chic, absolutely fitting and makes you feel good.

We were in the Harz Mountains over Easter and were lucky to get a place there. Very friendly, quick despite the full house and no problem with a dog. Which of course we really appreciate! Very very tasty and great selection on the menu! Everyone who visits the Harz must have been there at least once.

Always delicious and even the “normal” portions are more than sufficient. You should book the table in advance but even if you want to come spontaneously you won't wait longer than 5 minutes.

We were visiting friends in Braunschweig and they “kidnapped” us here. If we didn't live so far away we would go here more often. Everything was great - the schnitzel was on point!!! Swiss schnitzel with chilly cheese sauce💙💙💙So definitely a very clear recommendation!!!

The service was quick, friendly and attentive. We were particularly pleased that the restaurant is dog-friendly – ​​our four-legged friend was very welcome. The toilets were also in excellent, very clean condition, which is unfortunately not a given everywhere. Conclusion: This was definitely not our last visit!

An absolute dream every time! I visit you at least once every year and look forward to leaving the absolute king!!! Every time after the next time. My program is actually always the XXXL Dragon Slayer! Every time I leave almost half over and of course take the rest with me to the motorhome so that I can enjoy it again after the next motorcycle tour. I have already reserved for May 2nd. The ambience and the attentiveness of the waiters are great. The schnitzels were not a highlight as expected. The meat wasn't pounded so thin but rather thickly portioned. Unfortunately the breading was a bit bland. The ice cream for dessert was very tasty.

Incredible! Naughty waiters! You ask politely because you have an illness whether there are certain options and you aren't even really listened to and told straight away that you don't want it. I would prefer not to give this a star. We definitely won't eat here again! If you already run a restaurant you should also be familiar with illnesses and allergies and pay attention to contamination! It would probably be advisable to find out more about this otherwise you will lose many other customers and they won't eat alone but in groups which you will then lose...

The Schnitzelkönig is simply mega. EVERYTHING FITS. The food is super GREAT. You don't have to wait long at all when you have ordered and feel like a first class guest. The price-performance ratio is great. I was sometimes even able to eat it for two days. The only recommendation is really: reserve in advance. If you forget to queue on the weekend, you may have to wait hours and then it will be your own fault.

Super delicious food. Unfortunately there was a wait of around 40 minutes, but that was our fault as we hadn't made a reservation. The waiters are in a great mood and joke. Unfortunately we were forgotten at the table and had to wait a long time to order something. But the wait was worth it. Prices are reasonable. Mayo and ketchup directly at the table is great. Happy to recommend it, deducted star because we sat outside in the annex and were forgotten. Update 4 years later: Been there twice because we were on assembly 1 hour away. Dad schnitzel is just so delicious, but there is so much! This time I also ordered ice cream and was impressed by the snowball. Dude, what portions! You can even buy the menu. Temporary meals with a certificate are also available. Simply a must in the Harz!

You will be more than full, the quantity is above average in a restaurant, the quality is neither remarkably good nor bad, but you also pay for the quantity. You should make a reservation. Next time we'll go home again and stop at the kebab. If you want to gorge yourself for the right amount of money, this is the place for you, but you also have to be keen on it.

Great restaurant, but you should make a reservation

This XL restaurant offers everything for large and small appetites. I really like the 1kg schnitzel variations (with small portion sizes, a continuous piece of meat is not served). However, I struggled quite a bit with eating. But doggy bag is available in the restaurant so you could continue eating happily at home. The milk ice cream was well made, but I had imagined the taste to be different. Therefore a few deductions in the B grade, but the restaurant has a 96% re-recommendation rate.
