HANS IM GLÜCK - MANNHEIM Glücksteinallee in Mannheim

Yesterday I ate at Hans im Glück in Mannheim. I can't recommend this place at all. My soda (dragon fruit guava) tasted more like water than dragon fruit. I couldn't remember ordering water. Then came the highlight: when I got my burger, I saw two or three small black hairs in the melted cheese. This was unappetizing and I wouldn't recommend it.

As usual for the Hans im Glück chain, it was top-notch. However, one point deducted because there was only one server in the entire restaurant. She worked very well, but the wait times after the meal were a bit too long. This was probably only a temporary problem.

The food was delicious. Double Smash Burger with extra jalapeños and chili cheddar fries. The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was good.

A fantastic restaurant with a truly unique ambiance! The service is super friendly and on the ball. The service was very quick, and the food arrived very quickly, too. The burger was amazing and incredibly delicious. The only drawback: the Cuba Libre is missing from the cocktail menu. All in all, I have no complaints and would gladly come back next time I'm in Mannheim.

Amazingly friendly service at Hans im Glück. Our waiter, Robin, was super friendly, attentive, and in a really good mood. It definitely made the evening even better. The extensive vegan and vegetarian selection is worth a visit for all veggies. We'll be back.

New menu, same quality. We always enjoy coming back. Especially in summer, the outdoor beer garden with a small play area for kids is a real highlight. Extremely attentive and friendly staff.

I was alone that day and I really enjoyed the meal. The waiters were professional and attentive. I really like their salads! The restaurant is large and there is a terrace.

Went out to eat with the family. Everyone loved the burgers, and there was a plentiful vegan selection (my daughter loved it). The thirst quenchers were also delicious (a slightly different soda). The service was very friendly. All in all, a successful stay.

We visited Hans im Glück in Mannheim and tried the Abendmahl (evening meal) – a fantastic package with a burger, side, and a drink. The burgers were juicy, perfectly seasoned, and freshly prepared. The side arrived crispy and hot, and the drink selection left nothing to be desired. (We opted for cocktails. The blackberry was delicious 😋) The ambiance is modern and cozy, the service was attentive and friendly – you just feel at home here. The Abendmahl (evening meal) is great value for money! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to any burger fan. 🍔✨

I actually like coming here. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect. Unfortunately, the service is getting worse and worse. I've been there several times and waited 10 minutes for someone to come. Then I waited forever for someone to show up so I could pay.

The price for the patti is overpriced, but the taste is still outstanding. You can even order and pay via mobile.

A very good restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. I would especially like to praise Fatima, the waitress – attentive, fast, and always friendly. The food is fresh and delicious, and dogs are warmly welcome here. A definite recommendation for a Bavarian restaurant in Mannheim!

Very nice. We were seated immediately, and the interior is beautifully decorated. It just took a very long time for a server to arrive to take our order, and the food is above average in price for the quantity.

Man… we had to wait for the first order, and then it all started flowing. Not that it was busy – the waiters just took it easy, chatting at the bar as if we weren’t there. I even started wondering if maybe they just couldn’t see us ;)

The burgers and fries are really good, and the bowls are okay (a bit lackluster). The service depends on the mood of the people on the day: we've had the pleasure of having orders incomplete or mixed up a few times.

The QR code isn't suitable for everyone, especially if you want to escape the norm. If you come in hungry :) you can get in a really bad mood if you don't check it right away. But the service helped us out. Thanks for that. We think the price/performance ratio, and we're only judging by the food, is quite expensive. The taste didn't blow us away, and we won't be coming back. That's not the fault of the service or the business itself; paying €63 for a family and then being hungry is simply too expensive for us.

We went there spontaneously. It's a lovely place. The food was good, but there was room for improvement. The wait was very long!!! The waiter told us that the chef and other staff were missing... Hmmm, okay, we'll give it another chance... with a little luck 🙂

We waited over an hour for the food.

We were there this evening at 6:30 p.m., and our order wasn't taken until after 7 p.m. The burgers, fries, and cocktails were very good. However, the wait time for ordering and then for the food was far too long. Team Hans im Glück: all the reviews point to this issue, promise improvement, but nothing ever happens. So, unfortunately, this will be the last time we've been to your place.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice. But: Service always took forever. It took forever for the order to be taken; forever for the drinks to arrive; forever for the food to arrive; forever for new drinks and dessert to be ordered... When they were there, they were very nice, but woefully understaffed.

Great beer garden, very friendly. Why a snack platter is only available for several people, and then for €35, is unclear... Apparently, you're not allowed to eat it individually....

There were three of us there on a Saturday at 12 noon. It's a huge place – everything still looks brand new and sparkling clean. We were the only customers for the first half hour and received very friendly service. Great atmosphere; sitting inside feels like sitting in a small birch grove. The restrooms are also very stylish and clean. You can still sense the former building, which creates an interesting industrial style. There's a lunch menu every day, which is a bit cheaper overall, around 18 euros per person. They mainly serve burgers, and there are endless variations of them – amazing! Three different types of buns alone. Overall, very appealing and tasty. We also loved the still lemonades! You can park directly one level down for just 2 euros an hour. We'll be back!

I've been to Hans im Glück several times now and am always impressed by the harmonious concept. The "birch forest"-style decor creates a cozy, almost fairytale-like atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. The burger selection is very diverse – whether meat, vegetarian, or vegan, there's something for everyone here. The fries are crispy, and the selection of homemade sauces is excellent. The drinks menu is also varied; the sodas and cocktails are particularly recommended. The service is usually friendly and attentive, even if it sometimes takes a little longer during peak times. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality and the overall experience. In conclusion: If you're looking for creative burgers in a beautiful setting, this is the place for you. I'll definitely be back!

Terrible service, you won't find worse. Be prepared to wait a very long time. For three years, I have to come here a couple of times a year - and every time it's the same. The food is not the best, dry chicken in salads, sour vinegar sauce everywhere, the Aperol cocktail is mostly prosecco, it seems they forgot to add Aperol itself.

It should actually say "Juice Shop"... Every single time, with every single order, the food is made incorrectly. I wonder what the kitchen would do if the order wasn't written in black and white on a crappy order slip – and on top of that, the place is empty... So, no sign of stress. When you call, you're just told to go back instead of sending a driver. Even with a digital ordering system, no refund for the difference is possible. Poor service... You pay money for something and don't get anything close to what's on your order. Those who can read have a clear advantage, but apparently, even the staff don't care about language skills. Instead of a double patty, only one is made, and "without onions," the burger is then packed full of onions. Doing your job properly, which is what you're paid for, is impossible with you...

My order was supposed to take 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, I received a text message about the cancellation of the order (1 burger and 1 fries). You can also provide the information earlier if you can't accept or deliver anything else.

Despite the website's statement, there was no option to order gluten-free hamburgers. We were told that this had yet to be added to the menu, which was a real shame, as we had a rather long journey.

I can't really complain about the commitment of the three service members (with about 120 guests). They really gave it their all. We've been eating burgers here for years. You know what you're getting and aren't disappointed. You've always been able to download the menu to your phone via QR code, but being able to/must order using the code is relatively new. Yesterday, we sat at our pre-reserved table inside. The terrace was full, but since it looked like rain, we stayed inside. We became a little impatient after 30 minutes of no service, even though the food was being served at the tables next to us. Since we weren't made aware of the code for ordering, we had to find out the hard way. After ordering by phone, the first human interaction occurred 45 minutes later. Two meals arrived... no drinks... then one was missing... that arrived eventually... then - much later - the other two burgers. The first ones were cold by then. No matter. Not the staff's fault. Ordering via a code without being able to ask questions or be sure that you won't end up waiting in vain reduces the very idea of gastronomy to absurdity. I want someone to take care of me when I go out to eat for €150. No "clearing the table," no "is everything OK?", no "would you like something else?"... No one even came to take the cash... so we did that over our phones too... and were politely asked for a tip... which, of course, we gave anyway. I'm happy to speak up for the staff - it's not their fault - and I understand that labor costs have to be cut... with the minimum wage rising! We're restaurateurs ourselves and fighting the same battle! But leaving the guest completely to their own devices - without a single conversation from ordering to payment - that has little to do with gastronomy anymore.

No, terrible service. We had a reservation for 12 people and were supposed to sit at four tables... There was no beer, nor were there several other drinks. After 45 minutes, everyone had ordered, and after two hours, everyone at least had something to eat. Once, and never again. 🙄

Unfortunately, disappointing in every respect. We were there on July 16, 2025, around 12:30 p.m. There were still plenty of free tables. Two of the service staff present seemed completely overwhelmed. One wanted to take our order after two minutes but never returned to the table. The other wanted to clarify something in the kitchen and, of course, never returned with an answer. The Double Smashburger is more of an appetizer in terms of size. If you're feeling hungry, you won't get it satisfied there. The value for money isn't adequate.

I had a bowl and it was quite tasty, so I think the difference from a salad is minimal. I just added some avocado and beets, which made it a bowl. The description says it comes with a breadstick, but it's actually a multigrain burger bun that's been toasted a bit. Our order was incorrectly passed on to the kitchen, so we waited a long time for a snack platter. My partner's burger was the first and only thing that came. The burger was also a bit dry and looked a bit sad. We think it was overcooked. There were only two of us, and there were only two or three other small tables there. My bowl arrived 15-20 minutes after the burger, and the snack platter was only passed on to the kitchen afterward. When the platter finally arrived, some of the corn on the cob pieces were still lukewarm, but they tasted delicious. I'm used to something different from the chain and loved eating there, but this was probably the first and last time I was in Mannheim.

The food and atmosphere were great. Service was very good, but completely understaffed and therefore very slow. We had to wait forever to order and then for the food. However, the staff were very friendly and apologized for the situation.

The food is good, but nothing special. We were there with a large group and pre-ordered our food. Nevertheless, we sometimes waited 1.5 hours for our food. When we asked questions, the staff were very snippy and unfriendly... overall, very unprofessional and not customer-friendly. What a shame!

The food and service are outstanding! The location itself is also great, but there's no air conditioning. We ate there in the evening when it was 36 degrees Celsius, so we couldn't enjoy it. But: we'd happily recommend it 😊

Very delicious food, great location. I've celebrated many birthdays there. But the last time, I'm speechless. The average wait for drinks was 30 to 40 minutes, even after repeated requests. They were out of ice cubes. And when I asked for the bill, I could have just left because no one cared. It's a real shame... I'm used to it being different at Hans.

The ambiance was promising, but we were bitterly disappointed. It wasn't busy, and a small order (e.g., 5 beers) took an average of 20-30 minutes. In my opinion, the waitresses didn't know who was in charge of which table. When we reordered after 30 minutes, we received the same order twice after an hour. It was complete chaos. After an hour, all the beer was sold out (even though hardly any had been ordered). The food wasn't great either.

I had reserved a table outside for 6 people (June 26, 2025, 5 p.m.). When we arrived, we were told we could choose our own seats, as most of the tables were empty. Of course, we wanted to put two tables together, as other guests did, so we could all sit in the shade. One table hadn't been cleared and was completely in the sun, so we left it untouched. Apparently, the fine lady didn't like it, perhaps because she has to walk more steps? In any case, this lady (not German) asked impertinently, "Why do we need three tables?" I said we weren't staying that long, didn't want to be cheeky and say that this table wasn't cleared, unfortunately, well-intentioned. She cheekily says she doesn't believe it, since many other guests are apparently coming. (See photo, half the tables were empty.) So we moved again and made ourselves comfortable at two tables further forward like everyone else. After 20-30 minutes, I politely asked the LADY (not German) if we could order, and she said, in a truly DIRESPECTFUL way, that we wouldn't be served, which is completely unacceptable, especially shouting loudly and antisocially in front of other guests, NO GO. Unfortunately, Hans isn't bringing us any luck. Perhaps if they can improve their service, I think more guests will come back like before. P.S. All those sauces are just in the sun, well, I don't think that's the best thing, or I don't want to know how many people don't wash their hands after using the toilet and don't touch the sauces. Well, after Corona, would this make more sense to avoid in the future?!?

Everything simply took far too long, as there were only two employees there. When another guest asked, the employee explained that the other employees weren't in the mood due to the very nice weather and that the manager wasn't available. That shouldn't be happening. The food was otherwise good. But unfortunately, the ice cubes in our drink, for example, had already melted because it had been sitting there for so long.

We ordered here yesterday, and unfortunately, only part of our order was delivered. When we inquired, we were told there was nothing they could do. There was no refund for the food that wasn't delivered.

We like to go to Hand im Glück – however, this was our first visit to Mannheim. We know the restaurants from Munich and Frankfurt. Since we had a reservation, we got a table right away! The food was delicious; we visited the restaurant on Ascension Day, so it was accordingly busy. The staff was friendly, and the meals were served in a reasonable time. I assume it was due to the hustle and bustle, but we received the wrong roll twice (multigrain instead of sourdough) – but since it was still tasty and we don't want to waste food, we didn't complain! Otherwise, it was very tasty. I like it when the food isn't served piping hot; my girlfriend and my son would have preferred it a little warmer, but that's a matter of personal taste. Overall, it was a lovely evening with delicious drinks and good food.

We waited over an hour for the food, and then it was canceled when the already incompetent driver, who was driving around in a confused manner for 20 minutes, got close to us???? The reason given was that the courier was delayed???????? The man had already picked up the food but was too incompetent to follow Maps??? Never again! Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Absolutely outrageous! Waited over an hour, only for the order to be canceled at the last second?! The driver – completely overwhelmed and apparently without any sense of direction – circles around the area for 20 minutes and still can't manage to deliver the food. And then the ridiculous explanation: "The courier was delayed." Oh yeah? Maybe from their own navigation system? The food had been picked up long ago – but they clearly lacked competence. Never. Again. This place is the epitome of chaos. If you want to avoid frustration, hunger, and wasted time, give it a wide berth! Especially to @ubereats and the driver (since you can't rate them)

We waited a very long time, forced to order via QR code. After eating, we waited over 20 minutes for a server to come out onto the terrace. Then we had to speak to someone separately, even though we were the only guests there. Otherwise, it was rather different.

I ordered two burgers. Despite the quick delivery, they were extremely dry and unfortunately didn't taste good at all. The sauce you see in the picture is all the sauce you need for the entire burger. I would never order from there again.

We've ordered from Hans im Glück several times. Five times now, not everything was there. Instead of arriving at John Deere at 6:15 PM today, the driver arrived at 5:50 PM. This is a real sloppy shop. To all John Deere employees, don't buy anything there anymore. They should take a German course. THE WORST THING IS, THERE WASN'T EVEN ANY COMPENSATION. LIKE, SEVERAL FREE HAMBURGERS. AVOID THIS STORE

A super nice restaurant with a very pleasant outdoor area. The food was ready relatively quickly after ordering and tasted very, very good. The service was also more than friendly, and we were served quickly. The price-performance ratio is more than just acceptable for what you get.
