The food and service were good. Unfortunately, the interior design is unsuccessful. The space feels very cramped and confined. The seating is uncomfortable. Furthermore, someone defecated in the hallway outside the toilets. A mixed experience overall.

Everything was great, we'll definitely come back again.

I recently visited Hans im Glück at Augustusplatz and had a really lovely evening there. The food was excellent – ​​fresh, delicious, and exactly what I had hoped for. I also enjoyed the cocktails. Personally, I would just like to see a few more sweet cocktails without lime, as that's more to my taste. But that's really nitpicking. What I particularly appreciated was that, even though the place was packed and busy, the service was incredibly friendly and fast. I never felt forgotten, and that really made a big difference to the overall experience for me. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable visit, and I will definitely be back.

I'm not usually a fan of places like this, but I was still pleasantly surprised. Especially by the incredibly friendly staff. The service was so welcoming. The burgers were delicious, even though they forgot my extra request. The ambiance was actually quite nice, but I think I'm just too old for it. It was really uncomfortable. The seats were so small, and there wasn't really any back support.

It's a lovely restaurant here at the Gewandhaus. And the food was delicious. We'd love to come back.

Delicious! Need I say more? 😅 Okay, maybe a little more. We went to Hans im Glück for dinner with a large group. It's very centrally located. It was packed, which is understandable for a Friday night. While the restaurant is quite large, reservations are recommended during peak hours. Naturally, the noise level was correspondingly high. The servers were all exceptionally friendly and brought our orders quickly. My cheese and bacon burger was really very good, as were the parmesan garlic fries! I'm used to a lot of garlic, but even for me, these were a touch too garlicky. The soft drinks were also very good. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. We'll definitely come back when we're in Leipzig.

Cold sweet potato fries €7, the drinks €5.50 arrived after the food, the burger meat was more than dry €14, the sauces on the table were empty and the seat cushions were full of stains, and that for 2 people is disappointing.

We had to cancel our order after a 45-minute wait because our concert started 30 minutes later. We didn't feel like rushing our drinks. As an apology, our drinks weren't charged. The reason for the long wait was technical problems. We would have liked to have known this earlier so we could have looked for an alternative.

The cocktails here are a real hidden gem. Well mixed, balanced in flavor, and honestly better than I expected.

We visited Hans im Glück in Leipzig during the week – despite it being quite busy, we got a table right away, so thumbs up for that. Unfortunately, it then took quite a while for someone to come to us – we briefly felt a bit forgotten. But once our order was taken, everything went really quickly. The food arrived promptly and was an absolute taste sensation – 10 out of 10! Whether it was the appetizer or the main course, everything was incredibly delicious and fresh. Overall, a great visit with a minor initial hiccup, but definitely recommended!

Good food at a reasonable price. The lunch menu is generous and available until 5 pm. The drinks and food are excellent and always delicious. It's not too crowded, and the staff are always very friendly and attentive. They even help guests understand the menu and special offers. Thank you!

It's highly recommended, especially for young people. Young service, tips for saving on certain menu items, and a modern interior for hours of relaxation. The food is freshly prepared and very classy. Some service, however, seems to be a bit less attentive than one might expect from older waiters in other restaurants...but this seems to be a function of the times. Some orders are simply placed on the table without even saying "please." Overall, highly recommended!

If you've ever been to a Hans im Glück, you're familiar with the decor. I like it. Everyone knows that they have a variety of burgers. But I always get a salad because it's unusual and good. The service staff were extremely attentive. Really great! Thanks. I'd like to add about Leipzig: Be careful when parking. A €20 fine for being a quarter of an hour late.

Delivery via Wolt on October 18, 2025. Burgers were cold upon arrival, sweet potato fries were lukewarm and stuck together in a solid block, and the outer bag was dirty. I submitted a complaint with photos, but received no refund – only a €5 voucher offered via Wolt. Unfortunately, the quality and handling of complaints were disappointing; I'm used to seeing things differently at Hans im Glück. Definitely recommended for in-store purchases, but not for delivery.

Super central location. Cozy, typical Hans-im-Glück interior. The food is good to very good for a burger restaurant—the quality is significantly higher than that of classic burger restaurants with the M or B label. Highlights include specials like sourdough bread as a healthier alternative. The burger selection is very large, and there's something for everyone. Vegetarian, vegan, chicken, beef—they're all good. And very good: The salads and bowls far surpass those of most standard restaurants.

The online reservation worked great. We didn't have to wait when we arrived. Unfortunately, both benches at our table were full of leftover food, and the ones at the next table were no better. We were able to order quickly and received good advice. The wait for the food to arrive was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, our fries and sweet potato fries were only lukewarm and not crispy. The double smash burger was delicious. However, the size and price didn't quite match up. The turkey/chicken burger was well-made, but the meat was too bland and flavorless. The homemade lemonade, unfortunately, didn't taste of elderberry at all. Just of mint. We also had a latte macchiato, which was really delicious. When we asked to pay, we unfortunately didn't have to repeat the process twice and waited almost 30 minutes to pay. We experienced more cons than pros here and therefore wouldn't come back.

A solid burger, but it doesn't quite meet my expectations. I ordered a smash burger, but didn't get one, because the burger was definitely not smashed. After paying, I wanted to report this, but the waitress pointed out that I should please say something right away next time. But returning it wasn't the reason. Since the burger was made, I would eat it anyway, otherwise it would end up in the trash needlessly. Now comes the problem. After my explanation, the waitress overreacted and yelled at me, asking what she was supposed to do. Absolutely unacceptable!!! She should only tell the chef that he hadn't made a smash burger, please retrain him; that's how you drive away customers :/

Well what can I say. Amazing burgers !Till today, I visited and ordered very frequently from here. My children just love the food. But unfortunately this will not continue anymore.We ordered for a pickup.I had to wait 20min to pick which was still fine as it was a Friday evening.Came home just to realize that the fries were missing.Went back with the food to request the missing only to be told by a restaurant person that he did put the fries but I did something with it on the way! Not acceptable because I expected an apology instead. The owner came and backed his worker , provided the fries as if he was gifting it, but still no apologies. My kids had to eat the ice cold burgers and thats where it ends with HANS IM GLUCK, at least for me! May be it was just a bad day.

Iam writing a review about Lea , she was amazing with us !! I came on the evening to get some diner , Lea was the waitress and she did great , always polite . Iam writing because I’ve saw how one woman threated the waitress , they were in group . I’ve heard Lea talking to her , very polite and asking for some calm and she said sorry many times because they had a misunderstood . The woman was always being rude with the waitress despite Lea apology. The manager came and she is still somehow harassing the waitress , the manager says “that is enough and you can’t be that rude with someone who already apologised and humiliate someone who is working . I’ve notice they start to do some games and try to write bad reviews… I liked the food and service , but mostly I’ve wrote an review because i know they will try to put the blame on the waitress with bad reviews . ( it’s what people are doing nowadays)

Impressive location! The assigned table for two took some getting used to and was cramped, too cramped! We simply moved, and the friendly staff made it no problem! Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, nothing special. My wife's burger was only lukewarm. The giant tomatoes on the burgers were like water with no flavor, which probably contributed to the lukewarmness of the burgers. The sweet potato fries were also lukewarm. Then there are only vegetarian nuggets, which our daughter didn't like. The service was nice, but unfortunately not enough to warrant a return visit.

This was the worst service we had ever in any restaurant. Staff were impatient and impolite from the beginning, two orders were wrong, and the bill contained mistakes and even an overcharge. Instead of correcting it, they argued and wasted a long time, only to return with the same incorrect bill. Finally, a man (apparently a manager) came down and shouted at us. This was completely unacceptable. The food was good, but the overall experience was a disaster. A restaurant experience is about more than just food. It would honestly have been better if machines had taken our orders. If you want to pay extra for rudeness and chaos, this is the place. I strongly urge you to review the behavior of the staff involved, provide proper training in professionalism and customer care, and ensure such incidents do not happen again.

Probably one of the worst services I’ve ever experienced in my life across three continents and 20 countries. Astonishingly bad. The orders were messed up, twice. There was a mistake on the part of the waitress during the billing, which led to a person being overcharged, and during the attempt at resolution, the manner of speaking was unacceptably rude. On top of this, another person who was introduced as the manager, chose to come and raise his voice at our boss, in a manner that does not befit any human, let alone someone in the restaurant industry. We were visiting Leipzig for the first time as part of an international conference and this experience left such a bad taste in the mouth that it embittered the taste of the food and the memories of the city as well. Never again.

Really tasty food, wide variety of burgers ! However one of the worst services I have ever experienced across Europe! They made mistakes with two orders, and they overcharged us for one plate! The waitress tried to solve the issue, however a guy (I think he was the manager) came and raised his voice on my supervisor (we chose this place to meet after an international conference).

The food was good, however, the service was really bad. The worst experience I had across different continents. The service girl was very rude from the beginning and they overpaid us. They raised loud voice to my boss at one point when we were trying to be polite and leave the place. It's really unpleasent and unacceptable.

If you're already familiar with Hans im Glück, you know what to expect, and we were very satisfied here as well! The food was as good as usual, the service was as good, and the ambiance is just as familiar. So if you want a spontaneous bite that's better than the usual fast food chains, this is the place for you!

I really appreciate that you can customise your burger to some degree (e.g., bun type, sauces, add-ons). Do I think it's worth the price? No really.. it wasn't a "wow" type of experience. Tbh, I have had tastier burgers at home, but that's me. I also wish we didn't have to wait for that long to be seated, but I reckon it's usual with crowded places like this. I recommend visiting this place nevertheless. The atmosphere is really cosy and in general, something I have never seen, experienced before (in the most positive way).

The staff are all unfriendly and drink alcohol from the bar during their working hours. This is also noticeable in the orders. We received the wrong food and didn't even have cutlery at the table. The food is nothing special; it tastes perfectly normal but nothing outstanding. The restaurant is really nice and clean.

Experience August 2025 • The food review refers only to the dessert 🍰 and cocktails • (+++) Desserts were very good. The price was reasonable for me. The cream was slightly runny and could have been cooler. (+) The Beerengold cocktail (non-alcoholic) was very tasty, but the Drachenflieger (alcoholic) had too strong apricot flavor. It wasn't prepared very well. (++) Service was polite. We arrived around 9 p.m. We were seated immediately without a reservation. However, one of the waitresses was clearly in a post-work mood. She seemed very, very exhausted when paying. • (-) The interior ambiance was good. I didn't like the surroundings at all. However, this is very subjective.
