Very friendly welcome and service. Every server was very attentive! Unfortunately, the food wasn't what you'd expect from Hans im Glück. The salad bowl was very good, but the side dish came with two breadsticks that were old and hard. The sweet potato fries were soggy and lukewarm. A shame.

Experience August 2025 • The food review refers only to the dessert 🍰 and cocktails • (+++) Desserts were very good. The price was reasonable for me. The cream was slightly runny and could have been cooler. (+) The Beerengold cocktail (non-alcoholic) was very tasty, but the Drachenflieger (alcoholic) had too strong apricot flavor. It wasn't prepared very well. (++) Service was polite. We arrived around 9 p.m. We were seated immediately without a reservation. However, one of the waitresses was clearly in a post-work mood. She seemed very, very exhausted when paying. • (-) The interior ambiance was good. I didn't like the surroundings at all. However, this is very subjective.

"...It's great that you're here." ... This isn't just the motto on the menu, but also something you'll feel throughout your entire stay at "Hans im Glück" - Aufustusplatz. A friendly, dedicated, young team works here. The food is super delicious: burgers of all kinds, creatively interpreted and attractively presented. Chicken or beef, vegan or vegetarian - you're sure to hit the jackpot ;-)) (See menu!) The salads are also a highlight! You'll gladly wait a few extra minutes for them. Our absolute recommendation.

We were at this restaurant on a Saturday evening. It was quite busy, but service still moved quite quickly. The food was delicious, with special mention for the fries, which were absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, the onions were forgotten on our burger, but they brought them to us later. We didn't get the promised dessert on the house, but it was still a good evening. The smashed burgers could have been a bit more "smashed," but otherwise, they were very tasty.

The food tasted okay to good, and the atmosphere was great. The staff was super friendly, but unfortunately, some ingredients were forgotten in the food, and the wait was very long, even for reordering drinks, hence the 3 stars... The chaotic stress was unfortunately noticeable for the guests... at these prices, that shouldn't happen...

It was chaotic at first, apparently because the new kitchen staff messed up our order a bit. The food was good, but €7.50 for seven onion rings is excessive. The service was excellent. Our children were given something to color and were kept busy. The food arrived fairly quickly despite the busy restaurant. We'd be happy to go back.

The food we ordered was very, very good, and the staff were very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Unfortunately, we were disturbed, but the staff immediately intervened and provided us with the necessary protection. A huge compliment to the entire service team!

We ate at Hans im Glück today and were sadly disappointed. As nice as the interior design is, the service was unfortunately unattentive, and both burgers and the cheesy garlic fries were almost cold. Since the waitresses weren't paying attention to their tables and didn't respond when we called, we paid online. As we were leaving, the waitress finally came and asked if everything was okay. When we replied that it would have been fine warm, we only got a "hmm, oh, OK" and no apology. But hey, all in all, it was the first and, unfortunately, last time.

We've been eating here for years. Hans im Glück Leipzig impresses with consistently professional service in all areas. The burger creations are varied and always delicious. The service is particularly noteworthy: The staff is extremely competent, courteous, and remarkably efficient. Even during peak times, they try to accommodate requests. The ambiance strikes a pleasant balance between modern design and an inviting, comfortable atmosphere. We've already been to other restaurants in this chain and are very grateful to have such a good Hans im Glück nearby.

There were five of us (4 adults + 1 child). We had a nice seat in a cozy corner. The waitress helped us choose the menu. The burgers were all delicious. The wait was okay for lunchtime. At the end, the little one got some gummy bears.

A long blonde hair in the burger was the lowest point. Unfortunately, hygiene is completely unacceptable. At least: The food was completely removed, which I thought was very fair.

The Beyond Meat patty tastes almost exactly like a beef patty (says the 12-year-old), and the service was super sweet, cool, and fast. Almost everything is available in vegan options. 🌱 We were allowed to take the giant drinks and leftover fries with us.

A nice place, the service is super fast and friendly, and the burgers are undoubtedly delicious. Unfortunately, the portion sizes are rather small. I was still a bit hungry after paying €20 for a burger and a drink, and the burger seemed a bit lost on the rather large and otherwise completely empty plate.

If you want a great burger, this is the place to go. Located right on Augustusplatz, Hans im Glück entices you with burgers your heart desires. The wonderful staff deserves special mention. From the initial welcome to the excellent advice on how to create your perfect burger, everything was perfect. And if you just want a good aperitif or cocktail, this is the place to be. I can recommend this restaurant without hesitation and give it a 👍. Keep up the good work.

The food and drinks are great, with a wide selection and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We had booked for a Saturday with about 25 people, and that probably caused quite a bit of chaos. Nevertheless, the service was super friendly and patient. I've honestly never experienced such a friendly team. Because Saturday was so great, we went back on Sunday with a smaller group. Same experience as Saturday. P.S. I still clear the dishes and cutlery in Hamburg 😂

The food was a huge disappointment: Everything arrived cold, completely squashed, and tasted simply awful. The bun was neither grilled nor fresh—more like it had been prepared days ago. It was extremely dry and ruined the entire burger. The beef patty was very reminiscent of cheap frozen goods, as were the sweet potato fries—sloppy, tasteless, and definitely not freshly prepared. For what was offered here, the price was outrageous. Totally overpriced and definitely not worth the money. I won't order from here again.

This restaurant is not recommended. The food is overpriced. Take the Hamburg with Camembert and cranberries, for example. There's barely a hint of Camembert in the food, let alone in the taste. Anyone who wants to clearly differentiate themselves from McDonald's should provide significantly higher quality food. The service was excellent, but they can't be held responsible for the quality of the food.

The burgers were OK, but it's a matter of taste. The fries were delicious. The homemade lemonades are also highly recommended.

This time, our visit there was a complete disaster. The service was completely overwhelmed and, after we were seated, just rushed past us. After 20 minutes of asking to order, they finally did. The drinks arrived relatively quickly, but then nothing arrived for over an hour. We asked what was wrong with our food, to which the only response was that the wait was an hour. Okay, but you can definitely say something like that before guests order to avoid problems. No communication with the guest! No apology or explanation for why we had to wait so long (it wasn't overly busy). And when the food arrived, it was only lukewarm, which was a shame and not worth the price.

We ordered two burgers and fries. The food was served super quickly, but unfortunately, it was almost completely cold. The garlic cheese fries were incredibly salty and cold, making them almost inedible. The burger was lukewarm and tasted okay. But it wasn't anything special. All of this for a much too high price.

Despite several major events in Leipzig and the fact that this restaurant was already well attended, we were able to get a spot on the spur of the moment. Super friendly, experienced staff. Fast service, delicious food. We'd happily return.

Reservation dated May 30, 2025 The waiters walked past us several times without taking our order. Our first drink took 35 minutes, and our food arrived after over an hour. There was a loudspeaker hanging above us, which kept getting louder, even though we asked for it to be lowered. The waitress was once again incompetent, and this was the last time we'll go there. She also gave rude replies. I would give the service even fewer stars, but that's not possible.

We were here for a birthday with a reservation for the town festival. It was packed, but the staff were on top of things. Our table was by the door and exposed to the draft. Our request to change tables was accommodated kindly. Thank you! The food and drinks were excellent. The ladies who took our orders and the ladies who brought the food were all so incredibly nice and friendly. Respect. I would happily recommend it. It's better to park at Bahnhof Ost because it's very expensive at Augustusplatz itself.

They have completely inappropriate opening hours for a restaurant on Augustusplatz. We went somewhere else.

We were there on May 30, 2025, at around 7:15 p.m. The German Gymnastics Festival was taking place in Leipzig at the time, with a large event taking place at Augustusplatz. There were 13 of us, including gymnastics festival participants. When we arrived, we were immediately told that there could be a wait of around an hour for our food. We accepted this and thought we would have a few drinks in the meantime. A waitress came relatively shortly after we looked at the menu to take our orders. Our group was seated outside at two tables, which we were not allowed to push together ourselves and had to sit separately. After taking our order, it took 45 minutes for the first drinks to arrive at our table. However, the order was not complete. It took another 10 minutes for other guests in our group to get a drink. In the end, the food took 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive at our table. When the food arrived, one of our group still didn't have a single drink, despite asking the waiters three times. The burger I ordered was very tasty. The fries were very good, but only lukewarm to cold. My cocktail (Moskito) contained almost only ice and very little liquid. It also tasted very good, though. It seemed to us that the staff were very overwhelmed, despite the fact that the restaurant was only busy and not completely overcrowded. The interior could certainly have accommodated about 30 more people. Our initial assessment is that the bar team and other waiters were disorganized in their coordination with the serving of food and drinks. -Not an unsolvable problem. Drinks should be served promptly and quickly after ordering, and above all, in full. Refills should also be provided regularly and quickly. With the warning about the wait time for food, you can expect a longer wait. Fast drink delivery is a must! Conclusion: Lots of confusion with the orders, long wait times, but great atmosphere and delicious food.

Very centrally located at Augustusplatz, we were guests on Thursday – right in the middle of the European Gymnastics Championships. The staff were still super friendly, they were fully booked and only for the race. When we were seated after a pre-reservation, we were immediately told that the meal would take 90 minutes. That was fine for us, as it had given us advance warning. The food was delicious as usual, especially the truffle mayo. Drinks were also good, but unfortunately no creamy (virgin) cocktails. Kudos to the service and the kitchen; it was a tough day, but everyone was still friendly!

Sehr zentral erreichbar am Augustusplatz, waren am Donnerstag zu Gast - mitten in Turn-EM. Trotzdem superfreundliches Personal, waren voll belegt und nur am Rennen. Bei Platzierung nach Vorreservierung wurde uns gleich gesagt: Essen dauert 90 min. War ok für uns, waren ja dadurch vorgewarnt. Essen wie gewohnt lecker, besonders die Trüffelmayo. Getränke auch gut, leider keine cremigen (Virgin) Cocktails. Ein großes Lob an den Servicce und an die Küche, war ein harter Tag und trotzdem alle freundlich!
