This afternoon, I went to eat at Hans im Glück with my wife. The food was average for my taste and nothing special (but that's a matter of taste). The service was attentive, pleasant, and friendly. What's absolutely not acceptable, however, is the cleanliness and hygiene. The restrooms are a disgrace, and the dirt on the steps leading to the restrooms is more than just a day or two old. You shouldn't look into the corners of the restaurant either, not to mention the benches, which are smeared with sauce or something similar. There's a lot of room for improvement, and in this condition, unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

The burger was cold and didn't taste good at all for the price. Sides were forgotten and had to be fetched after standing stupidly at the counter for 10 minutes. The music was too loud. I've never been to such an unpopular Hans im Glück restaurant as the one here in Dortmund on Hansaplatz. It's a real shame to see how poorly maintained the premises and the restrooms are. We sat outside, and there was a plant on each table that was completely dried out and wilted. Aphids had made themselves at home on it. I asked the waitress about it, but she replied, "I know," and shrugged her shoulders. It's probably due to a lack of staff, but we decided not to eat here, just to quench our thirst. And I do like the food from this restaurant chain. But the outside appearance, in my opinion, also gives an indication of the cleanliness of the kitchen.

I went to this restaurant with my family for dinner, and unfortunately, our visit was disappointing overall. The first negative impression came from the drinks: There was a beetle on the mint leaves in my cocktail. After I complained, the drink was replaced, but such an incident shouldn't happen in a well-kept restaurant. The food was also disappointing. The bacon on the burger was barely cooked and looked raw, while the fried egg on top was completely cooked. The burger patties were so dry that they were almost impossible to cut. A burger ordered without a bun looked like a pile of lettuce with minimal meat. The grilled vegetables on the vegan salad were unfortunately inedible – a very unpleasant consistency and a disappointing taste. The dressing was barely noticeable. After a complaint, the manager came to us and listened to our concerns. He made every effort to find a solution together. Overall, the food was neither satisfactory in terms of taste nor quality. Based on our experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, some of our group had to wait almost three hours for their food. Everyone else was very satisfied; the burgers were delicious!

The ambience of this Hans im Glück is also very nice. However, I found it a bit cold, which didn't exactly encourage me to have a drink after dinner. We had previously chosen another seat because the temperature was more pleasant, but unfortunately it was in a cordoned off area, which we had no way of knowing because it was neither marked nor were we greeted. After 15 minutes, after we had almost finished our order via the QR code, we were then asked to move. Another 10 minutes later our order was taken. The iced tea and lemonade were great. The burger was also very tasty, but the fries and sweet potato fries were wobbly and too cold the first time and when we got them back after returning them to the kitchen, they were almost unsalted. There was no pepper or salt at the table and the service only appeared again when we asked to collect at the table. Failed on average for us. It wasn't full, there were enough staff there, but they weren't trained or didn't feel like it.

I've been to many Hans im Glück branches in different cities, but this was by far the worst. We went there because we are used to good food, a cozy atmosphere and good service from Hans im Glück. None of this was the case yesterday... First of all: Yes, it was Saturday lunchtime and BVB's home game day. Yes, it was very crowded in the city. Yes, it was a bit chaotic as many guests wandered from outside to inside due to the approaching rain. BUT: None of this justifies that 1. we had to wait 1 1/4 hours for two burgers with fries, 2. the staff was completely overwhelmed (obviously due to too few employees), 2. our repeated questions about when we could expect our burgers were answered with a snide “no idea” or a shrug of the shoulders, 3. the burgers were not only poorly seasoned, but also carelessly prepared. While one employee turned away at least new guests because there was obviously not enough capacity, another filled new tables every minute, so that the shop became more and more full, even though 2-3 burgers only came out of the kitchen every 5 minutes. In short: the visit was really an imposition! If there had been at least words of apology, a brief explanation, or something like that, we might have left half as upset. Other guests did it right and left despite already placing their order.

This was the second time we have been to the branch in Dortmund. The first time it was pretty full, so we had to wait 45 minutes, but the second time it was pretty manageable, despite that we had to wait a long time again. We were promised that a high chair would be brought to the table, but we didn't get it, but then got it ourselves. We also received no response when we asked not to add salt to the fries. The toilets are also pretty dirty. Unfortunately this will be our last visit to Dortmund.

If you like to eat unusual burgers, you will definitely find what you are looking for here. The Hans im Glück concept is very well known throughout Germany and rightly so! Here in Dortmund I can only praise our waiter, he was very friendly and nice. I would describe the ambience as 100% a matter of taste. There are thin trees scattered throughout the restaurant, you really feel like you are in a forest. Finding the way to your place is therefore not particularly clear. But as I said, it's a matter of taste, it didn't bother us.

We were here at Hans im Glück and ate delicious burgers as well as french fries and sweet potato fries. The food was fresh and very tasty, the drinks were nicely chilled and the beer was freshly tapped. I and we can only express our full praise here, starting with the nice reception when you came in, the friendly service and the impeccable sanitary facilities. We'll definitely be back. Good luck

The food was super tasty and the selection of vegan and vegetarian food is simply great. Even the little children were thrilled and, as we all know, they can sometimes be very picky. The children particularly liked the swing seats right next to the table. No boring chair to sit on. There was almost no need to bring any toys at the table. There was even something to paint and everyone was happy. This meant that the adults could enjoy their meal with some peace and quiet. Not always so easy with small children. We'd love to come back.

I was here with a friend this afternoon, and we opted for the lunch menu! We had a burger with fries and a cold and hot drink at a really good price. They always have a variety of sauces right on the table – great. We waited about 20 minutes for our food; the burger was delicious, and the fries were just what you'd expect: hot, crispy, and well-salted! The service was excellent! We'll definitely be back!

Went there spontaneously today with a friend. Had the lunch menu. Food was very tasty, drinks were also very good. We were served by Johannes. Very nice, friendly and also fun to have. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.

Complete disappointment. We arrived there with high expectations and were very disappointed! We arrived at around 9 p.m. Large areas were not available, so we didn't get our preferred seat. We accepted this without comment (clarification to follow). We placed our order at around 9:10 p.m., and the food was served over half an hour later. Both dishes were COLD! The burger was cold, the fries were cold, and the chicken was COLD. How can they serve it like that? But here comes the thing: we weren't even halfway through when the waiters started cleaning up the place... we thought, what's going on? When we asked, we were told we close at 10 p.m. What a disgrace! If you close at 10 p.m., at least you make the guest aware of it at 9:10 p.m.! And then the guest has the opportunity to decide whether they want to "gorge" in the shortest possible time or not! Especially since the preparation took so long. I can't stop being amazed. This is an outrage, a disrespect. The areas where we weren't allowed to sit had already been prepared for closing time, we then realized. We "dined" for about 67 euros with two people. Payment should have been refused for such a service. This way, you may make some money, but you lose a lot more. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances.

Hans im Glück has always been a good place to go for dinner, but we were very disappointed during our visit today. The seating, which has always been very simple, has a lot of stains, which of course reduces the comfort. We then had to order the food online via the platform, although unfortunately there was no order confirmation and it was unclear whether the order had even worked. Unfortunately, there was no one around for 10 minutes to ask. The drinks only arrived after 30 minutes and the food after 45. The cocoa that was ordered with lunch also took 30 minutes and three requests to finally arrive, and not even the powder was properly dissolved. Overall disappointing service.

We waited 40 minutes for the order. We called the employee three times and he didn't care at all. They even treated us badly when we said we would leave without ordering. Overall, a good restaurant with tasty, attractively served food and decent portions. However, the tables are quite narrow, which can be a bit uncomfortable at 1.90 m. The space on the table is also limited. Rather expensive in price.

We were there last Saturday. After we ordered the food, we waited over 35 minutes for our drink and then another 10 minutes for our food. The portion of fries for 4.50 euros was very meager (I actually counted them, 31 fries). They were also cold. I also found the burger for 8.50 overpriced. A slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a slice of onion. This was also cold, if we hadn't been so hungry I would have left everything and not paid. Sorry, the kitchen definitely needs to change something here. It was cold in the restaurant at the time. Me and other guests put on their jackets. This has nothing to do with comfort.

It's okay that you won't be served faster if you have children - but it's difficult to convey that it's significantly slower than other guests. Fries were already cold when served. We stood in front of the store for 20 minutes despite a reservation. The order was placed using the QR code. Here you would think that no mistakes would happen. But that is not the case. Ordered the classic burger with chicken instead of beef, called the waiter to ask if it worked that way, and the answer was yes. Food arrives and instead of salad there were fries, which is quick and easy. But now the burger came with beef instead of chicken. Annoying! We specified extra chicken using the comment function and also informed the waitress. 3 people were allowed to eat, 1 person was allowed to wait and watch us eat. After we were finally finished, the last burger arrived, this time with chicken but cold fries! Hunger drives it down. According to the menu, after the meal it was time for a hot drink. So I called the waitress using the QR code and called the waitress a second time after 10 minutes because no one came. Even after 20 minutes there was still no service, but the store wasn't more than half full. Ultimately we had to go to the waiter and speak to him. Order for hot drinks was placed with a request for the bill. 5 minutes later the bill came and we asked what drinks we had ordered because they had been forgotten. Not once was there an apology for the mistakes made. New name suggestion: Hans in Misfortune

Delicious burgers, delicious cocktails and other drinks, really relaxed, cozy atmosphere, nice staff, quick preparation and normal prices - the positive thing is especially the delicious sauces at every table, which means you have enough for your fries and not just a small bag - recommended!

The two of us had lunch at HANS IM GLÜCK in Dortmund today and were very satisfied. The lunch menu offers a great selection and the price-performance ratio convinced us. The burgers were fresh and tasty, and the side dishes were great. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and a successful lunch. Food is reasonably priced and not really the real deal. Yes, a step higher than other system gastro shops and even 2 steps higher in terms of ambience. Compared to the golden M or the king. A super dedicated waitress was responsible for our tables. All in all a nice evening. But for the money you “have” to take a trip to Brückstrasse to get your fill.

We really enjoy coming by regularly. The vegan menu is really big and all the sauces are vegan too. The sauces for the fries are available directly at the table, so you are not limited to a small portion.

The children's chair that was provided to us was very rickety and a screw almost fell out. The food was tasty but cold for 2 out of 6 people. The toilets for both genders were dirty and the floor was sticky. The service was friendly, but also seemed a bit confused. The ambience was very nice, but the place to sit was quite uncomfortable and there was hardly any room to get up.

Unfortunately we can only agree with the previous reviews, we waited forever until someone came, our waiter was very rushed and didn't give us a warm welcome at all. Only a few tables were occupied. Then the wrong food came, followed by the right one, but burgers were cold and tasteless, just frozen products. Still hefty prices for McD… quality and mass-produced atmosphere. Also quite dirty toilet. Really the killer for every date to whom something like this happens. Conclusion: Either real fast food for less money, or any other burger shop/restaurant that offers better service and tastes better for the price.
