Unfortunately, the beautiful location doesn't always make it. If you like the typical GDR charm of the staff (unfriendly, stroppy) you're in good hands here. Unfortunately, you don't feel welcome as a guest, the food was okay, but I definitely won't go to this establishment Recommend to others, let alone come back again

I went to this traditional restaurant with my parents as a child. The food is like old German home cooking. The price has been adjusted to today's times. The food and the preparation, however, are not. The solyanka in a mini cup was nostalgically delicious, but unfortunately the obligatory toast was missing. After that I had “Dead Grandma”. My wish for more black pudding instead of liver sausage could not be met. Vegetarian dishes were completely missing. The staff wasn't friendly at all (not even with the good tips). I will not come back and will not recommend the house to anyone.

Food was fresh and ok if you ordered exactly according to the menu. Wishes are not possible. Staff tend to be very reserved rather than friendly. Felt like they were unwanted. Repeat guests are probably not welcome. Only cash payment possible. There was no response to a tip (5 euros).

Nice location, interesting history, very Berlin menu. We were looking forward to that. Unfortunately, it was a very 'Eastern' experience that I unfortunately didn't have to have for the first time in Grünau: at least as a 'Wessi' (I can't judge it for others) you don't feel welcome here at all. People look at you grumpily, and when you ask friendly questions there are either no answers or pat answers. You'll certainly be happy to accept the money, but somehow hospitable treatment doesn't seem to be part of it. I was really annoyed that I said “thank you” at the end. Because there was nothing to thank here! Apart from that, I found the mini portion of Soljanka with two half slices of toast for 6.90 completely overpriced. My companion's fish soup for 7.90 was a little more generous and the price including two halves of bread rolls gratinated with garlic was also okay. I still won't visit this place again. Apparently they don't want me - and I don't want them dealing with their guests either.

We were there at Christmas time. Duck and Muscovy were so dry that you didn't really want to eat them anymore. Green and red cabbage were delicious. The older service person reminded you more of forced labor than of hospitality. I wouldn't eat there again. Otherwise nice location.

Unfortunately, racism is very important here. As a migrant you are neither welcomed nor given a table. When you ask for a table, you are told in an unfriendly manner that you should wait. At the same time, a German couple gets a table immediately after entering the restaurant. Even when I was told that the couple had just been favored, there was only a mushy answer and a lack of insight, so I had to leave the restaurant. Here it became clear that foreigners are unwelcome.

Traditional Berlin restaurant, with delicious, inexpensive German cuisine. Despite the packed restaurant, the food was served in a reasonable time. Always my pleasure!

We were there spontaneously, the restaurant was very busy, but we still got a table for the 4 of us. You sit comfortably and the atmosphere is rustic. The boss was very nice and we didn't have to wait too long for the food, which was very tasty by the way. (We had duck breast, schnitzel, tuna salad and trout. Additionally everyone had a starter of fish soup and mushroom soup) We were all very satisfied and full, so the portions are good too. Conclusion A nice, rustic restaurant (also coffee and cake) that I would highly recommend.

Quaint place. Cash only. Actually nice service, but it's hard to get a smile. Dog is allowed in. Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing animal-friendly in terms of food and no cruelty-free milk for coffee.

Service staff very unfriendly, so you don't feel like spending time there

Club pub in Garden Colony. It's been a long time since I've eaten such an excellent leg of goose. Unfortunately, the service staff was a bit overwhelmed with two large groups of visitors.

Bad mood at the service and at the counter. Customers are portrayed as stupid because they don't know what types of beer are on offer there. Despite many customers, people insist on finishing work on time. The lanterns facing the street are switched off just 5 minutes after leaving the restaurant. But at least you need about 10 minutes.

This restaurant still offers honest German cuisine, the ambience has changed little in the last few decades, giving rise to a certain nostalgia. The service is extremely quick. The food came very quickly. It tasted excellent. This restaurant is really a recommendation for day trippers or for those who want to have a good meal before heading to the airport.

I haven't eaten anything as bad as this restaurant for a long time. The duck was beyond dry and tough and the salad with chicken was really a joke (beans topped with cold pressed chicken pieces, like the ones in the plastic packaging in the refrigerated counter at Netto). Once and never again. Funnily enough, a friend said that it was the same way more than 10 years ago. So it doesn't seem to have been a bad day for the chef. In addition, there is a waitress who seems to be dissatisfied with herself and her job and/or didn't feel like it.

Nice unexpected place. Located on the edge of the forest with a large outdoor area. Large range of German food, something for every budget. Good service. Difficult to reach for those with lame feet. 3 disabled parking spaces in front of the door. Another 30 or so 300 meters away.

Unfortunately it was closed when we were there because the opening hours have changed so we couldn't test it, maybe there will be an opportunity

The place really deserves its good reputation. For me, Hanff's Ruh is in Berlin's TOP 10. I find the location, the offerings, service and taste to be excellent.

Here you can enjoy good home cooking in the beautiful beer garden.

Make sure you have small change since its a huge problem if you try to pay with 20 euro and above banknotes... Pity. Thats how people are with no competition around and poor client service.

Not so crowded, well located in the countryside. Self-service as a concept is fine. Home-style home cooking is something you can do... For a short trip, completely sufficient.

Very bad service, the 'lady' at the food counter was very rude, insulting, just terrible. Unfortunately it was a total failure and we cannot recommend it.

Unfortunately, I let myself be tempted to eat there a second time and was, as expected, disappointed again. Potatoes were as hard as golf balls and the black pudding didn't make it any better. It's okay to drink beer and linger there if you don't like the service staff gets on your nerves unnecessarily.

We were invited to a romantic wedding. A beautiful summer evening with the best weather. Forest - idyllic, natural and uncomplicated. Attentive, family service. Everything fit together.

Self-service with a beeper for pick-up on one side and drinks on the other side. Everything OK. Brought food, looked delicious and promising. Schnitzel with fried potatoes and chanterelles, as well as veal steak with fried potatoes and mushrooms, €47.00 without drinks. Chanterelles and veal steak are expensive to buy, so we were happy to pay for them BUT then we also expect a delicious meal. The veal steak was fried to death and the homemade herb butter didn't bring any life back into it. The mushrooms were cooked in the pan with onions and bacon, not fried, same with the chanterelles. The pre-cooked potatoes (which is what you do otherwise they won't be cooked) had been fried in the pan. Everything was unseasoned and tasted subterranean, and very fattening. It's a real shame, we're giving ourselves away the second planned visit.

Hanffs Ruh is a small restaurant in the forest of Bln Grünau. An excellent restaurant, apparently the team there has a penchant for old furniture, the tables and chairs are around 100 years old and in perfect condition.

And the Oscar goes to....... the unfriendly service staff in Berlin. We have been watching the drama surrounding the unmotivated and unfriendly service employees for 3 years now. The man who stands listlessly at the tap and who has never seen a smile cross his lips or the woman who cannot be surpassed when it comes to listlessness. The lady doesn't even think it's necessary to ask if you want anything else, no, she tries a fierce staring contest - whoever speaks first loses. We (Grünauer) understood it after 3 years, you want to earn money, but without annoying customers. A tricky business model! We wish you much success, but we will no longer support you. We've been annoyed enough and would rather spend our evening at the lido, Waldkater or the Sportdenkmal boathouse. You're lucky that the location is so great and that walkers will always find their way to you. But is that enough? We give 2 stars for the location and 3 stars for the friendly kitchen staff. Bravo: 5 stars! We deducted 4 stars for the outrageously unfriendly service staff. Please finally relieve the service staff; the employees don't want to work for you and hate people. Please also put up a sign for all customers: Orders placed 30 minutes before closing are not welcome and will only be accepted with eye-rolling and theatrical sighs.

Great food and in the middle of the forest

The food was delicious, good home-style cooking, nice outdoor area/beer garden, easy to visit with a dog. (I recommend taking mosquito repellent with you or spraying yourself, unfortunately the critters cannot be avoided unless you sit indoors)

Very idyllic location, as a non-Berliner you wouldn't expect it to be there. We enjoyed it deliciously - roulade, game goulash, salmon and pork knuckle. The menu is already well-stocked and there should be something for everyone. We'll be happy to come back!

I would prefer to give 0 stars. Service was absolutely disastrous (especially the waitress)!!! It doesn't work at all! Should look for a new job! Absolutely not recommended.

Although the restaurant is open until 9 p.m. you can't get anything to eat after 7 p.m. - no goodwill from the staff... etc.

We discovered this iconic place with a long tradition by chance on a trip and immediately fell in love. You can sit indoors, shielded from the noise of the city, or, like us, outside in the cozy self-service beer garden. Everything seems almost like it was in the 19th century when the shop was founded. The menu matches this. Tasty home cooking with a standard and weekly menu and also some dishes that you can't get everywhere. Like my fried green herrings. I am in awe of the team with Berlin insults and some little things that some people get upset about (missing card payment, bill on handout...). People are happy that an inn like this with time-honored charm still exists.

I recently visited this restaurant and have to say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had. The food was okay, but the service was absolutely catastrophic (as has been read in other reviews). One waitress in particular stood out negatively. As soon as we entered the restaurant, she greeted us with an expression on her face that clearly signaled that we were not welcome here. Her unfriendly manner continued throughout the afternoon. She kept giving us disparaging looks and made no attempt to serve us in a friendly or courteous manner. But the worst part was when I overheard her making derogatory comments about the guests behind the bar. This is not only unprofessional, but also disrespectful and completely unacceptable. This behavior really spoiled our stay and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. If management doesn't do something to improve the quality of service, especially the attitude of this waitress, there will surely be many more disappointed guests.

In the beer garden: cold buffet with hot items. Very delicious. Also something for the eye. Attentive and nice staff.

Unfortunately I can only give 2 stars. The waitress isn't the nicest, the drinks didn't taste good, cola with little carbon dioxide, apple spritzer was more water than apple, there were bones in the pike perch fillet, the asparagus was so hard that my daughter couldn't eat it. It's a shame we won't be coming back.

Such a beautiful cafe/beer garden/restaurant, in the middle of the forest. A great stop on walks, bike rides or on the way back from the beach. The cake is great, the beer is delicious, and in winter there is mulled wine. Hanff's Ruh doesn't look like much from the outside, but the taste is premium!

Beautiful location and very charming. cozy interior. In contrast to others, I found the service for Berlin to be okay. but the food wasn't that great. Both dishes (goose and game) were tasteless and overcooked. Anyone could make far better quality at home. Subpar food that would have been fine in the 1980s but isn't today. Better stick to mulled wine and desserts.

Beautifully located location in the forest, with a large summer garden and playground. Good home cooking, tasty, portions sufficient. Rustic atmosphere with many past memories in the middle of nature. In the summer we often cycled from there. (Grünau, Schmöckwitz).

Der 1.Advend mit Weihnachtsmarkt ist immer wieder schön.

Sehr schön gelegen, mitten im Wald. Bedienung absolut unterirdisch. Als Gast hat man das Gefühl ein Störfaktor zu sein. Sehr schade, dass das Personal einem so ein Gefühl vermittelt. Unfreundlich, unangemessene Bemerkungen, kein bitte, kein danke... Kann man machen, kann man aber auch lassen.

Heute und morgen kleiner netter entspannter Weihnachtsmarkt. Am 03.12.23 ist der Weihnachtsmarkt von 11:00 - 19:00 geöffnet. Kleine Stände mit handgearbeiteten Sachen wie Patchwork und Strick. Natürlich Bratwurst, Glühwein usw., Feuertonnen waren auch an.

Ist immer ein Ausflug wert. Ob Kaffee, Kuchen oder Essen alles bestens. Bei schönem Wetter sollte man ein Tisch bestellen. Auch am 1.Advenswochenende ist wieder Weihnachtsbasar.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Es gibt Hausmannskost und Bier vom Fass. Zum Nachtisch hatten wir Apfelstrudel mit Vanillensoße und Eis mit Früchten. Man wird schnell bedient und schmeckt wirklich gut.

Mitten im Wald und trotzdem gut erreichbar. Prima deutsche Küche. Nettes Personal.

Urig, gemütlich und sehr schmackhaftes Essen

In diesem Lokal war ich schon als Säugling und 40 Jahre später komme ich immer noch gerne wieder🤩 Gut Bürgerliche Küche in super ruhiger und entspannter Umgebung. Die Preise sind zwar nicht ganz günstig, dafür ist die Preis Leistung aber vollkommen in Ordnung. Super nettes Personal! Empfehle es jedem gerne weiter😍

Unter diesem Namen ist eine sehr schöne Gastronomie für Wanderer, Radwanderer, Erholungssuchende, Genießer, Trauernde ( nahegelegenen Friedhof ), Ruderclub's und anderen Personengruppen die alle gleichermaßen gut versorgt werden! Ein exquisiter Genuß, der nicht nur bei Einen Besuch bleiben wird!!! Knapp 15 Minuten Fußweg vom S-Bhf. Grünau entfernt oder 5 Minuten entfernten Parkplatz! Viel Spaß beim Selbst entdecken!!!

Wir hatten Rippchen , die schätzungsweise mehrmals aufgewärmt wurden und nicht schmeckten, wir hatten Schnitzel mit Champions und Schnitzel mit Pfifferlingen! Auch diesen Mahlzeiten waren zu viel Hitze und Wärme anzusehen , von der Farbe alles ziemlich dunkel , die Pilze waren eingelaufen , vom Geschmack fade , das Fleisch trocken , Schade . Vielleicht , wenn wir zur Mittagszeit gekommen wären , hätten wir eventuell mehr Glück gehabt aber leider muss ich das bewerten was ich bekommen habe.

Ein wunderschöner Ort, aber leider wird das alles schnell getrübt, durch aggressives Personal, das scheinbar total überfordert ist und das an den Kunden auslässt. Wir wurden als 4 Frauen von einem aggressiv auftretenden Mann hinter der Theke in einem Schwall beleidigt & persönlich angegriffen. Unprofessionell, unfreundlich und keine Reise wert.

Netter Biergarten, ideal zum Einkehren nach einer Radtour. Essen war m.E. für einen Biergarten sehr gut.

Sehr unfreundliches Personal, zum Essen kam es gar nicht mehr. Die Öffnungszeiten scheinen willkürlich angepasst zu werden, abweichend von den Angaben Online. Wir wurden grundlos persönlich angegangen, obwohl wir bloß einen netten Abend an diesem schönen Ort genießen wollten. Große Enttäuschung.

Für ein SB Restaurant teuer und kleinen Portionen

Da wir oft in Grünau und Umgebung unterwegs sind, waren wir bereits des öfteren hier. Es wird solide deutsche Hausmannskost zu sehr fairen Preisen geboten. Auch bei den Getränkepreisen gibt es nichts zu beanstanden, sodass wir nach einem Spaziergang immer gern hier einkehren. Besonderes Highlight ist der Weihnachtsmarkt. Die Location ist einfach perfekt dafür geeignet.

Ich hatte bereits die Kommentare über das Essen und die Getränke an diesem Ort gelesen. Aber meine Frau wollte den Biergarten. :) Wir waren mit dem Essen und vor allem mit der Art, wie das Bier serviert wurde, unzufrieden.

Eine sehr schön gelegene Ausflugsgaststätte mit Selbstbedienung, mitten im Wald mit großem Biergarten im Außenbereich. Bei jeder Fahrradtour oder bei jedem Spaziergang ein absolutes Muss. Die Speisen sind allesamt frisch und es wird auch mit frischen Zutaten gekocht. Alles in allem gut organisiert mit einem super eingespielten Team und top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Auch wenn's mal etwas voller ist, wartet man nie lange auf sein Essen oder Trinken. Also einfach mal vorbeischauen und ausprobieren ...

Die Speisekarte bietet eine gute Vielfalt. Allerdings habe ich bei den Preisen eine höhere Qualität erwartet.

Willkommen zurück in der DDR alles wie früher, Essen, Bedienung und Ambiente. Wem das nicht passt ,der kann ja ein Ausreiseantrag stellen. Basta
