Very tasty food in a very nice atmosphere. We'll definitely come back.

The outdoor area is still being manufactured, so it cannot be evaluated yet. However, all parking spaces should already be at least halfway paved. Especially in this weather. A greeting from the kitchen must be standard at this level. Bread basket theme has already been organized. The selection at the Advent and Christmas buffet was good, except for the desserts. In the old Hammesmühle the selection was certainly even larger overall. But that doesn't necessarily have to be better. In terms of taste and quality, it is as expected, great. Desserts on such an occasion should be a little more extensive. There are not enough creams in different varieties and cookies. Service friendly and helpful, as well as competent. Communication via open table is answered late or not at all. Requests expressed early on, such as a children's chair, must be implemented as standard before the guests arrive. Organizationally there is some room for improvement. But, the whole thing is new and the start was good overall. It's nice that the Hammesmühle is open again.

We were there yesterday and everything from reception to service was great. Food was great. We'd love to come back.

Been there for the first time and I think there is still room for improvement for the price! The ambience is really great, even if the lighting in the parking lot leaves a lot to be desired. Service still needs to be found, was friendly but not present enough to the guests given the number of staff. Food would have been ok for a cheaper price, but unfortunately it wasn't that great for the price that was quoted. For €29 for a Wienerschnitzel, I would like to demand that it be medium medium and not baked dry. Rump steak was cooked well, the quality of the meat could be improved. Loup de mer was very small in terms of the portion of one fillet for the price of 32€ Unfortunately the duck wasn't that soft. It can definitely be improved, and I hope that criticisms will be addressed so that the next visit might be a highlight

I review my visit with family to the Christmas buffet: The parking lot is only partially filled with gravel. On a wet winter day, you can be sure that your car will be completely dirty - inside and out. Let's get to the buffet itself: There is beef broth with meat added. The broth was so dark that I didn't dare try the soup. The starters were beautifully arranged in glasses, but the taste was not convincing. The carpaccio was frozen... and somehow topped with hollandaise sauce... well... The taste of the goose rillette was unrecognizable. There was also frozen broccoli with almond slivers, celery puree from the Metro bucket and packets of spaetzle with poppy seeds... but that didn't help to hide the lack of quality. The venison goulash tasted okay - the saddle of beef was very good. The fish, on the other hand, was third rate at best and served on over-salted spinach. For children - and you have to expect that children will come at Christmas - there was exactly: nothing. The food offered for sale was not edible for children. Fries with chicken would have helped... We didn't get to have dessert. When we drove home after 1 1/2 hours, completely disappointed and with hungry children, no dessert was offered. Conclusion: Third-class cuisine and service in an average, cozy atmosphere... too expensive for that. We won't be back any time soon and will wait and see how things develop from a distance.

Hello. I'm actually not a fan of bad Google reviews. But in this case I have to get rid of the whole thing. We had dinner there with our family today for Christmas Day. We were very happy that the Hammesmühle, which we loved so much, had reopened. It also started very well. The service was all very, very friendly. But then things got off to a bad start. The prices have really risen sharply. Which is not the issue these days when everything has become more expensive. We're happy to pay a little more for good food. But the portions of the main course and the dessert are so small that at least I was thinking about going to McDonald's afterwards. There wasn't even a greeting from the kitchen beforehand. Which also disappointed us very much. Unfortunately, this seems to be just a money machine from the Doetsch brothers. It's really a shame that you only have memories of this beautiful place😞. And I would like to remind you again afterwards that it wasn't the service or the quality of the food

A few days ago I had dinner at Hammesmühle with my brother and our ladies. Here is my conclusion: We knew and appreciated the “old” Hammes mill for decades. We often ate, drank, sang and celebrated there. We were therefore excited about the “new” Hammes mill. The impression given by the rooms and the furnishings was very positive. Finally the harsh and loud sound caused by the previous stone floor and the lack of sound absorption was gone and it was comfortable. The welcome was friendly and we had a nice table. When ordering the drinks, we chose two non-alcoholic beers from a particular brewery from the drinks menu in addition to a few wines. But it turned out that we had been served a beer from another brewery without saying a word. A query to the staff was met with the answer that the beer we ordered was not currently available. We would have expected to be informed of this change when ordering. A first feeling of dissatisfaction arose. Our ladies chose FRIED ZANDER, beurre blanc, cream sauerkraut and mashed potatoes with nettle oil (a typo in the menu) and MEDITERRANEAN COUSCOUS, basil foam, dried cherry tomatoes, pine nuts and ratatouille. The couscous was well received, the pike perch's cream sauerkraut was a bit weak, the nettle oil was probably Swiss nationality and therefore very neutral in taste. But it was pretty green. My guest and I had BRAISED BEEF CHEEKS with pinot noir jus, celery puree and glazed carrots and diced potatoes. The glazed carrots that appeared on three of our plates would probably have sent a Corega Tabs user to the dentist the next day because they were more than al dente. The step from raw nature to pre-cooking to glazing was probably omitted. It's a shame I don't have a horse at home, he would have been happy. The celery puree was prepared in a 1:1 ratio: one hundredweight of potatoes and one celery root. The unanimous opinion was that the distinctive taste of the celery could not be found in any corner of the puree. That was absolutely nothing. On the other hand, the beef cheeks were good, very well braised, tender and with a fine taste. Jus and potato cubes were okay with room for improvement. Conclusion: The atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly and good, except for the slip-up when ordering drinks. A nice and clear arrangement of the food on the plate and ambitious pricing do not make a gourmet restaurant. But the “new” Hammes mill is still in its early stages, so there is still room for hope for improvement. For example, when fixing and lighting the parking areas.

Best restaurant in and around Mayen. Excellent food.

Dear Hammes-Mühlen team, The restaurant is beautifully designed. We visited the Hammesmühle after it reopened on a recommendation. We were really happy we were welcomed by the courteous and friendly service staff. We had a 3-course menu. A small greeting /amuse gueule would be perfect to shorten the waiting time. The main courses were not so beautifully presented. I didn't find the garlic/herb butter particularly tasty. We waited 40 minutes for the main courses and unfortunately they arrived a bit cold. My friend ate the braised beef cheeks, the celery puree could use more seasoning, as could the celery threads that were served as a garnish. The Wiener Schnitzel was extremely thin, which I thought was great! The potato and cucumber salad tasted mainly of vinegar and mustard. There was a hair in the food (of course that can happen, I also work in the catering industry, it just happens, which is why I didn't make a major third). As an apology we got dessert for free. For dessert we had the cheese plate for 2 people. I would have found it interesting what kind of cheese I found on this plate. The service staff didn't know the table number by heart, which is why they went to the next table three times and had to ask whether the food/drinks were for them. There is definitely still a lot of room for improvement. The service staff always asked if everything was OK and whether everything tasted good, but unfortunately not for the most important course - the main course. I don't want to badmouth the restaurant, this is my personal criticism as I felt it.

The Hammesmühle, which opened in October 2024, is a real eye-catcher. Modern interior meets historical walls. Attentive and friendly service supports the feel-good atmosphere. The kitchen also impresses with regional dishes. A (taste) experience that also has its price. Pre-selection in the 3- or 4-course menu is recommended. The proximity to Bürresheim Castle invites you to take a walk.

Pleasant atmosphere, very attentive service and the menu is very good. The price-performance ratio is very good. The wine list is extensive.

The menu is manageable. We ate the 4 course menu. The food was very tasty. It's great that all guests were served at the same time and that the plates were warmed. So we all had a really warm meal. The atmosphere is uncomfortable. We had a table at the edge and there was a lot of draft. The restaurant was also full (there was also a Christmas party booked), so it was very loud and restless during mealtime. The wine list is very expensive. It's hard to choose a bottle of wine that isn't overpriced. I would have liked cloth napkins. We had a nice evening, but this location lacks the former flair!

Since reopening under new management and complete renovation, the cozy atmosphere has remained and is complemented with perfect country house cuisine. The very attentive service crew with the thoughtful restaurant manager have already given us two very enjoyable evenings, thank you! The crispy and juicy goose was presented to us in its entirety and then served carved on the plate. Big wine list!

The Hammesmühle has finally reopened. Not only has a new operator moved into the old building, but the entire building has been extensively renovated. The gastronomy is convincing. A dedicated, young team takes care of the guests and the cuisine is upscale. We felt very comfortable on our first visit and will definitely come back soon. Clear recommendation!

Went to dinner yesterday after the long-term renovation of the Hammesmühle restaurant. What can we say, only a SUPER REVIEW can be left here. There is nothing wrong with the ambience, the food and the very friendly service. The only small drawback is the slightly higher prices, but I pay a little more for such a very good meal. We had a table reserved straight away that evening for my family and us for Christmas.

We ate there today with 2 children. We really had to wait a long time for the starters and therefore also for the children's food. Unfortunately, the children's food also came incorrectly, which was corrected. But our dishes (Döppeskuchen) and also the beef broth were only lukewarm. When it came to the wine, we were amazed at the taste. When we got the bill we noticed that the wrong wine had been brought and billed for. Price difference 30€! Finally, we ordered an espresso macchiato, which was also only lukewarm due to the cold milk foam. The service was ok - after there was no more children's schnitzel, we suggested sharing adult schnitzel - that was still available?! All in all, just an O.K. I wouldn't come back for a while.

We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. The quality was not convincing

One of our absolute favorite places. It feels so indescribably good to know such an address among the (unfortunately) few really good restaurants/restaurants in the surrounding area and to be able to visit it more often. The ambience, service, food, value for money and location are simply wonderful! What a shame that a change of operator is imminent, but we also hope for the best for the FUTURE. And now I'm trying to reserve a table for Saturday ;-)

Essen Top! Ich hörte aber heute wie eine Kellnerin lautstark mit einer Unschuldigen Familie diskutiert hat die nur nach der schönen Beleuchtung gefragt hatte, darauf hörte ich noch wie diese Frau aufgrund dieser Diskussion der Familie auch noch mehr Geld verlangt hat! Unerhört!

Ich war heute an einem entspannenden Sonntag mit meiner Familie zur Besuch, das Essen war Top. Aber was mir von einer Kellnerin aufgefallen ist, wurde ganz wenig Wert auf Kundenzufriedenheit gelegt und reagierte sehr unhöflich als wir nach den schönen Beleuchtungen im horizontalen erwähnt haben. Daraufhin hatte sie gute 5 minuten mit meiner Familie diskutiert und die Kellnerin wollte uns den Rechnungspreis um 20€ erhöhen. Ich wär kurz davor beim Inhaber ein Wort einzulegen.

Sehr gemütliches Ambiente, sehr liebevoll gestalteter und gepflegter Garten. Essen ist sehr gut und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Historische Mühle mit Restaurant, Speisen exzellent! Durchaus mit Sterne-Qualität! Alles ganz frisch zubereitet mit Liebe zum Detail! Ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis! Die Mühle wurde vom SWR zu einem der besten Landgasthöfe in Rheinland-Pfalz gewählt. ☺☺☺

Ein zauberhafter Ort, ganz leckeres, frisch zubereitetes Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Ich komme wieder. Versprochen 🤩

Wir kommen seit Jahren extra von Wiesbaden in die Hammesmühle - hier passt einfach (fast) alles: Das Essen ist wirklich fantastisch, kreativ, frisch und superlecker, gute Weinauswahl, saisonale Karte, freundliche Bedienung und ein sehr schönes Ambiente in der tollen, alten Mühle. Dazu ein wirklich sehr gutes Preis-Lesitungs-Verhältnis. Wenn es etwas zu kritisieren gibt, dann, dass die Chefin einem nicht immer das Gefühl gibt, als Gast willkommen zu sein (spitze Kommentare, unfreundlich am Telefon usw.) - da sollte sie sich nochmal eine Scheibe von ihrem Personal abschneiden, die können das besser. Deshalb 1 Stern Abzug.

Sehr gutes Essen und freundliche Bedienung. Ich hatte Rehsteaks mit Brokkoli und Pfifferlingen, die Steaks waren schön Medium gegart und das Gemüse bissfest. Interessant fand ich die Semmelknödel, denen (vielleicht mit Fenchel) eine besondere Note verpasst wurde. Einzige Kritik an der Hauptspeise: Auf dem Brokkoli waren tupfer von Semmelbröseln mit Butter, das finde ich nicht so pralle weil es mir keinen Mehrwert in dem Gericht bietet. Anstelle der Semmelbrösel finde ich es schöner wenn Nüsse (z.B. gehobelte Haselnüsse) in Butter angebraten werden und damit der Brokkoli getoppt wird. Dafür ziehe ich aber keinen Stern ab weil es Geschmacksache ist. Das Dessert (dreierlei Sorbet) war liebevoll angerichtet und hat richtig erfrischend geschmeckt, genau das richtige für die warmen Tage. Leider war ich nur im Zuge meines Urlaubs hier, sonst würde ich gerne regelmäßig vorbeischauen.

Als erstes vorweg, das Essen war sehr lecker und die sogenannte Tellersprache war auch gut. Wir haben dieses Restaurant ausgesucht weil es eine gute Karte hat und nicht die übliche Schnitzel Parade aufweist. Die Bedienung war freundlich und schnell Preis Leistung ist sehr gut

Ein Ort, der von uns 5 Sterne bekommt, Der Garten ist ein Traum, man sitzt direkt am Wasser, das Essen war sehr gut. Für Retriever, Gartenliebhaber und Frischluft-Fans der geeignete ort, um kulinarisch Leckeres zu sich zu nehmen. Selbst der Milchkaffee schmeckte hier besser als woanders!

Wahnsinnig lecker, auch für Vegetarier sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Wir waren schon 4 oder 5 mal dort essen.Jedesmal war das Ambiente, ob innen oder im Außenbereich traumhaft. Das Lokal lädt zum Verweilen ein.Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen wiederholt köstlich. Wir haben bereits verschiedene Gerichte ausprobiert und jedesmal war es ein Gaumenschmaus. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf den nächsten Besuch dort.

Sehr schöner romantischer Ort mit einer sehr guten Küche. Wir sind durch Zufall auf diesen Ort gestossen und begeistert. Auch kurzfristig haben wir hier einen Tisch für mehrere Personen erhalten. Im Sommer lädt die Außenterasse zum verweilen ein. Der Anbau eignet sich super für Hochzeitsgesellschaften. Der Handyempfang ist eingeschränkt, was aber wiederum sehr erholsam ist. Parken ist okay, sofern keine größere Gesellschaft vor Ort ist. In unmittelbarer Nähe findet man das Schloss Bürresheim.

Sehr gutes Restaurant. Unbedingt reservieren. Kann sonst sein, dass man keinen Tisch bekommt.
