Hammesmühle in Mayen

Zum Essen, zwei Personen dort. Tisch vorbestellt im Restaurant, zugewiesen bekommen im Wintergarten! Im Innenraum war noch genügend Platz. Tisch viel zu klein für zwei und überladen mit Gläser die wir großteils nicht brauchen. Könnte man dann abräumen um Platz für den Gast zu schaffen, nein bleiben stehen. Essen, hatte wildwurst mit röstkartoffel war lauwarm, somit nach zwei Minuten kalt, Senf laut Speisekarte fehlte komplett! Nachbartisch war dreißig Zentimeter entfernt und besetzt, für beide Parteien keine privat Atmosphäre jeder konnte die Gespräche des anderen verfolgen und wenn gewollt, durch den minimalen Abstand von seinem Teller mitessen, absolutes nogo. Schade kann sie nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren am Sonntag, den 12.07.2026 - 18:30 Uhr, mit vier Personen in der Hammesmühle essen. Drei von uns haben das Lamm-Couscous bestellt. Leider waren wir von der Größe der Portion sehr enttäuscht. Das Gericht bestand lediglich aus drei sehr kleinen Stücken Lammfleisch – etwa in der Größe einer Fingerkuppe – und einer entsprechend kleinen Portion Couscous. Für einen Preis von 29,00 € pro Gericht empfinden wir das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis als nicht angemessen. Gerade bei diesem Preis hätten wir eine deutlich großzügigere Portion erwartet. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich.

Nachdem wir im Winter zweimal dort waren und sehr gut gegessen hatten, waren wir, auf unsere Empfehlung, mit Freunden in der Hammesmühle. Der Service war schon im Winter nicht optimal und hat sich seither nicht verbessert. Das Essen hat stark nachgelassen. Der Ziegenkäseteller ist, im Vergleich zum Winter, deutlich geschrumpft und die Gelbe Beete hatten keinen Geschmack. Der Cock au Vin war lecker, die Portion aber leider sehr klein und der Teller lieblos. Der Nachtisch war mässig. Schade! Wir waren im Winter eigentlich froh in der Region ein so schönes und gutes Restaurant zu haben. Nach dem gestrigen Abend werden wir nicht noch mal hingehen.

Sehr schöne Gaststätte. Service sehr freundlich. Gehobenes Preiseniveau, das aber gerechtfertigt ist. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und liebevoll zubereitet. Biergarten ist zu empfehlen. Eignet sich auch für eine Rast nach einer Wanderung. Parkplatz vorhanden, kann jedoch bei Veranstaltungen in der Gaststätte schon eng werden.

Wir hatten unseren Tisch für 4 Personen rechtzeitig online reserviert und uns sehr auf das gemeinsame Essen gefreut. Am Vortag kam eine Mail, in der wir bestätigen sollten, ob wir auch wirklich kommen - was wir taten. Bei unserer Ankunft mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass das komplette Haus für eine Hochzeit reserviert war. Uns wurde als Alternative der Biergarten mit Imbissangebot vorgeschlagen und ein Getränk auf‘s Haus. Da wir uns aber auf ein gutes Essen à la Hammesmühle gefreut hatten, sind wir rundum enttäuscht abgefahren. Unsere Reservierung war im System des Restaurants eingetragen. Wir sind der Meinung, wenn man derart hohe Ansprüche an sich, sein Restaurant und seine Küche nach außen kommuniziert, dass es dann auch dazugehört, die Reservierungen immer gegenzuprüfen und den Kunden zu informieren. Wir hatten also dank der Hammesmühle einen eher unangenehmen Tag. Über die Küche können wir uns kein Urteil erlauben. Die Hammesmühle selbst und das ganze Gelände sind sehr schön. Aber der Service, der untrennbar mit einem Wohlfühlmoment verbunden ist, ist für unser Verständnis zu 100% verbesserungsbedürftig.

Vielen Dank für die hervorragende Bewirtung und den gemütlichen Aufenthalt. Ein herrlicher Ort, den man wärmstens empfehlen kann. Mit einen gemütlichen Biergarten, leckeren Speisen zu moderaten Preisen.

Wir waren heute Abend zum erstenmal nach der Renovierung in der Hammesmühle. Angefangen mit einer sehr freundlichen Begrüßung wurden wir zum Tisch gebracht. Ambiente und Ausstattung ist hochwertig und lädt zum verbleiben ein. Die feine Speisekarte lässt keine Wünsche offen. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, ein großes Lob an die Küche, genauso sehr gut war die Bedienung an unserem Tisch sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich 🥰alles in allem hatten wir einen perfekten Abend vielen Dank bis bald im Nettetal.

Ein sehr schön gelegenes Hotel mit super freundlichen Personal. Wir hatten eine Übernachtung und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Zimmer war etwas klein aber mit sehr guter Ausstattung und gutem Frühstück. Das Essen hat uns super geschmeckt, das Fleisch genau auf den Punkt ! Zum Eis gab es einen Thymian Schaum , der war sehr lecker! Mittags saßen wir auf dem Grundstück direkt an dem Bach Nette und haben ein lecker Gläschen Wein getrunken.

Sowohl Restaurant, als auch Biergarten sind sehr empfehlenswert. Toller Service, sehr gutes Essen und preislich fair.

Ich hatte im April 2026 für Muttertag 10 Mai einen bestimmten Tisch bestellt. Und dort wollte ich schön mit meiner Mutter und meinem Mann essen. Der Tisch war reserviert, empfangen wurden wir nicht wirklich, hat mich schon ein bisschen gestört. Nun ja, als dann die Servicekraft zu uns an den Tisch kam, sagte sie "Heute gibt es nur Buffet" (hier hätte man zumindest über E-Mail informieren können)Als ich erwiderte, dass ich davon nichts wisse und ich à la Carte essen möchte, sagte man uns, dass das an so einem Tag nicht ginge. Okay, also was blieb uns übrig, wir haben uns gefügt. Das Essen vom Buffet war ganz gut, aber leider nur lauwarm. Meine Mutter wollte ein zweites Glas Wein, mussten wir zweimal dran erinnern. Meiner Meinung fehlt da die Führung/das Controlling, das Servicepersonal war total überfordert (ich bin in der Gastronomie groß geworden) Sehr schade für das wunderbare Ambiente. Ich habe an diesem Tag für uns 180 € bezahlt. Resümee meiner Mutter: "Hier gehen wir nicht noch mal hin". Nächste Woche treffe ich mich dort nachmittags mit einer Freundin, ich bin gespannt, ob sich seit dem 10. Mai etwas geändert hat. An das Purs Team: letzte Woche zum Geburtstag im ai piero in Andernach, alles war perfekt!

Ein wirklich traumhafter Platz! Ich habe das Essen, die Weine, die Menschen, die einen verwöhnen, sehr genossen! Danke dafür! Ich komme gerne wieder! Ich habe nicht übernachtet, deshalb kann ich zu den Zimmern nichts sagen.

Zu den Zimmern kann ich leider nichts sagen. Restaurant und Biergarten sind allerdings top.Wünsche werden fix realisiert. Für eine 45köpfige Gruppe nachgefragt,Reservierung und Parkplätze sofort möglich gemacht! Immer wieder gerne👍

Ein Kleinod mitten im Grünen. Idyllische und malerische Landschaft mit Biergarten und hochklassiger Gastronomie. Das Personal sehr freundlich, aufgeschlossen und geduldig. Die Küche kocht auf hohem Niveau, der Chefkoch hat sich persönlich bei uns vorgestellt und sich erkundigt, wie es uns geschmeckt hat. Da wir nur gegessen und getrunken hatten, kann ich die Zimmer leider nicht bewerten. Das gesamte Haus ist komplett neu renoviert und strahlt im neuen Glanz. Und es gibt kostenfreies WLAN.

Gebucht war ein 49€ Menü "Fisch rund um die Nette" -Angebot auf der Homepage - für drei Personen. Bei unserer Ankunft war dem Service und der Restaurantleitung das Angebot nicht bekannt. Wir erhielten Speisekarte und die Extra-Fischkarte. Wir würden dort ja sicher etwas finden, meinten die Mitarbeitenden. Wir und auch der Nachbartisch waren irritiert. Ohne das Menü-Angebot hätten wir gar nicht in der Hammesmühle reserviert. Die Restaurantleitung erschien und sagte zu, sich zu kümmern. Inzwischen wurden unsere Bestellungen aufgenommen. Mit Vor- u Hauptspeise von der Fischkarte war man schnell bei 49€, die laut Angebot für das Menü fällig gewesen wären. Die Suppe war in Ordnung. Bis zum Hauptgang verging sehr viel Zeit, in der leider auch niemand erschien, um zu klären, was denn nun mit dem gebuchten 49€-Menü sei. Erst auf unsere Nachfrage wurde lapidar erklärt, dass es ein "Kommunikationsproblem" mit der Geschäftsleitung gegeben habe. Das war alles. Erst nachdem ich meine Erwartung auf irgendein Entgegenkommen seitens des Restaurants äußerte und vehement und mehrfach schilderte, dass hier ein gebuchtes Angebot nicht eingehalten wurde, wurde ein Kaffee o. ä. aufs Haus angeboten. Das ist nicht angemessen und auch das sture Verhalten der Restaurantleitung war es nicht. Hier wäre eine deutliche Kundenorierung zu einem früheren Zeitpunkt erforderlich gewesen. Es bleibt ein fader Nachgeschmack. Dies und auch das wenig überzeugende Hauptgericht werden mich sicher nicht wieder in die Hammesmühle führen

Wir waren nur zum Mittagessen hier. Tolle Lage, wunderschöne Umgebung. Freundlicher Service. Und nicht zuletzt: Das Essen war köstlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren gestern (am Muttertag) mittags spontan zu Gast und man hat alles ermöglicht uns einen Tisch zu organisieren. Der Service war top, das Essen war auch wirklich lecker und sogar die Küche war unglaublich aufmerksam und sie haben für unserer kleine Tochter noch kleinere Aufmerksamkeiten bereit gestellt -ohne weitere Kosten. Das war echt großzügig und der Aufenthalt war total angenehm. Die Location ist wunderschön! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Die Hammesmühle überzeugt auf den ersten Blick mit einem wirklich schönen Ambiente. Die Einrichtung wirkt stilvoll und durchdacht, alles ist sehr gelungen und sorgt für eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Gerade das Umfeld lädt definitiv zum Verweilen ein. Die Speisen waren geschmacklich gut und lecker angerichtet. Allerdings darf man in dieser Preisklasse auch etwas mehr erwarten – sowohl bei der Raffinesse als auch insgesamt beim Erlebnis. Kritisch sehe ich leider den Service. Nachdem wir freundlich darauf hingewiesen haben, dass sich noch „Nachtisch vom Vortag“ auf der Speisekarte befindet, kam keine einfache dankbare Reaktion, sondern direkt eine Reihe an Erklärungen: Die Karten würden eigentlich jeden Abend gereinigt, aber wegen einer Hochzeit habe man keine Zeit gehabt usw. Dabei ging es uns gar nicht darum, jemanden zu kritisieren oder eine Rechtfertigung zu hören, sondern lediglich darum, darauf aufmerksam zu machen, damit nicht der nächste Gast ebenfalls klebrige Finger bekommt. Insgesamt also ein Restaurant mit tollem Ambiente und guter Küche, beim Service und der Professionalität im Umgang mit Hinweisen gibt es jedoch noch Luft nach oben.

Wir waren zum Osterlunch in der Hammesmühle. Das Ambiente ist wirklich wunderschön. Leider war der Raum in dem das "Buffet" aufgebaut war viel zu klein für die Anzahl der Gäste. Man musst schon einige Zeit in der Schlange stehen. Als man dann auch seinen Teller bestücken wollte waren viele Schalen schon leer und auch nur noch die Endstücke vom Brot konnte man ergattern. Später freute man sich auf die Hauptgericht, leider kamen neue Schalen bereits nur noch lauwarm aus der Küche. Wir waren doch etwas enttäuscht!

Ein ansprechendes Restaurant mit annehmbarer Küche, jedoch waren die Wartezeiten auf Speisen und Getränke, die zudem nur lauwarm serviert wurden, unerwartet lang.

Hab eine Nacht dort übernachtet! Es war ruhig, das war es auch schon! Der Empfang ziemlich speziell und chaotisch, das Essen Mist, das Personal unfreundlich, direkt vor dem Fenster des Zimmers eine riesige Klimaanlage, siehe Bild, die die ganze Nacht zu hören war! Morgens wurde das Wasser immer kälter, kaum zum Zähneputzen geeignet! Mist zum Höchstpreis, der sofort bei der Ankunft berechnet wurde! Flasche Wasser 7 Euro! Das war wichtig! Ansonsten hätte man das Geld besser in den Bach werfen können! Meine Empfehlung!

Ich war nach einem Besuch im Schloss Bürresheim dort zum Mittagessen. Die Speisen waren sehr gut. Der Service war auch gut und sehr freundlich, hatte aber hier und da ein paar kleine Schwächen, obwohl das Restaurant nicht voll besetzt war. Aber das ist mehr Meckern auf hohem Niveau. Der Gasthof ist schön gelegen.

Wir hatten gestern online etwa eine Stunde vorher für 20 Uhr einen Tisch für zwei Personen reserviert. Bei unserer Ankunft mussten wir zunächst warten, bis überhaupt jemand kam. Danach brachte uns eine junge Mitarbeiterin zu einer älteren Dame, die auf die Information unserer Reservierung in einem unangenehm lauten und unfreundlichen Ton reagierte („Wie bitte, jetzt noch?“) und demonstrativ auf ihre Armbanduhr schaute. Das war kein guter Empfang. Am Tisch fiel auf, dass ein beschädigtes Weinglas bereitstand, was in einem Restaurant dieser Kategorie nicht passieren sollte. Die Servicekräfte wirkten insgesamt bemüht, aber unkoordiniert und unbeholfen – mehrere Mitarbeiter begannen, Tische umzuräumen, statt zunächst unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Das Essen selbst war wirklich gut und qualitativ überzeugend. Leider wurde der positive Eindruck durch den Service stark beeinträchtigt. Als wir noch Dessert bestellen wollten, wurden wir längere Zeit nicht beachtet, obwohl wir mehrfach versucht haben, auf uns aufmerksam zu machen. Erst kurz vor 21 Uhr kam eine Kellnerin, obwohl die ältere Dame in der Zwischenzeit an der Kasse stand, Bier trank und andere Tätigkeiten erledigte. Fazit: Gute Küche, aber der Service und insbesondere der Umgang mit Gästen sollten dringend verbessert werden.

Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist wirklich beeindruckend und vermittelt zunächst den Eindruck einer gehobenen Küche. Umso größer war leider die Enttäuschung beim Essen. Das Kalbscordonbleu war deutlich zu fettig – beim Anschneiden trat neben Fett auch ungewöhnlich viel Flüssigkeit aus dem Fleisch aus. Die Kroketten wirkten ebenfalls wenig frisch und hatten einen Geschmack, der auf altes Frittierfett hindeutete. Beim Maishähnchen kam es zudem zu einer unangekündigten Änderung der Beilage: Statt des angebotenen Rosenkohls (als Alternative zum wilden Brokkoli) wurde Kohlrabi serviert, ohne dass wir vorab darüber informiert wurden. Insgesamt sehr schade, da das Restaurant optisch wirklich einiges hermacht und die Erwartungen entsprechend hoch waren.

Edles Ambiente mitten in einer wunderschönen Natur. Phantastisches Essen, Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Desserts kann ich rundum empfehlen. Zur Jahreszeit wurden die frischen Brennnesseln für die Suppe frisch geerntet, Lamm war sanft geschmort und zerging im Mund. Danke für den Genussabend mit sehr aufmerksamem Service!

Wir hatten eine Übernachtung als Paar mit Hund und ein Abendessen mit Freunden. Das Zimmer war war sehr ruhig, sauber und ansprechend gestaltet. Das Abendessen hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Besonders loben möchten wir das sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Personal. Hier haben wir uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Unsere klare Empfehlung für das gesamte Haus in sehr idyllischer Lage.

Rezension zum Restaurant. Mittelmäßige Erfahrung: Das Personal war extrem vergesslich, was die Qualität des Essens übertönte. Ich war heute zum ersten Mal in der Hammermühle. Wir haben dort in einem kleinen Kreis aus zwei Pärchen einen Geburtstag gefeiert. Das Geburtstagskind war vor mehreren Jahren, noch vor der Renovierung, oft in dem Restaurant und deswegen war der Besuch auch mit alten, schönen Erinnerungen verbunden. Ich glaube, dass die Hauptperson unserer kleinen Party auch heute zufrieden war. Allerdings war ich schwer enttäuscht. Es hatte alles gut angefangen. Das Restaurant hat einen geräumigen Parkplatz und eine extrem einladende Atmosphäre und Lage. Wir saßen auf der verglasten Terrasse und hatten einen tollen Blick auf die Nette. Alles wirkt modern und stilvoll. Ich würde empfehlen, im Vorfeld zu reservieren, denn ab einer bestimmten Zeit war es ziemlich voll. Ablauf: Das Menü ist schlicht, was ich persönlich sehr mag, und wir haben uns schnell zurechtgefunden. Der Kabinettwein, den wir uns ausgesucht haben, war zwar nicht besonders geschmacksintensiv, aber frisch und sehr leicht. Ich finde, dass die Brotportion für vier Personen schon sehr klein ist und nicht proportional zu dem Dip, von dem es reichlich gab. Unsere Vorspeisen kamen sehr schnell. Ein bisschen zu schnell für meinen Geschmack, denn wir hatten gerade erst ein Gespräch begonnen. Auch die Hauptgänge wurden sehr schnell nach der Vorspeise serviert. Es waren 1 Stunde und 10 Minuten zwischen unserer Ankunft und dem letzten Bissen meines Hauptgangs. Für ein Restaurant, das ich als gehoben einstufen würde, ist das extrem schnell. Vielleicht würden es einige als Vorteil sehen, mir war es zu schnell. Danach haben wir Dessert bestellt und über 20 Minuten darauf gewartet! Das kann ich wiederum gar nicht nachvollziehen. Was hatte die Küche in dieser Zeit zu tun? Sahne schlagen und Eis ins Glas legen? Mein Hausgetränk war zum Ankunftszeit des Desserts leer und vor allem kalt. Essen: Was das Essen betrifft, kann ich sagen, dass mir meine Gänge lecker geschmeckt haben. Ich hatte Ziegenkäse als Vorspeise und Bäckchen als Hauptgang. Beides war wirklich klasse. Allerdings waren einige Sachen bei meiner Begleitung für meinen Geschmack stark an der Salzgrenze: das Blumenkohl-Püree beim Fisch des Tages und das Kraut beim Zander. Der Fisch des Tages war allerdings auf den Punkt gegart. Das war wirklich gut. Personal: Die Probleme begannen mit dem Personal. Entweder sind sie überfordert oder schlecht eingearbeitet. Die Gerichte kamen zwar gleichzeitig an den Tisch, was gut war. Nach Getränken wurde aber nicht gefragt. Eine Person trank Bier, aber niemand beachtete das leere Glas. Und Wein haben wir uns selbst nachgeschenkt. Ich wollte einen Kakao mit Sahne, habe aber einen ohne Sahne bekommen. Wie ich schon erwähnt habe, dass eine der Personen Geburtstag hatte. Ich habe extra gefragt, ob es möglich ist, dass das Dessert mit einer Kerze kommt. Ich hatte sogar eine eigene dabei. Mir wurde bestätigt, dass sie das gerne machen würden, und auch Wunderkerzen haben. Das Dessert kam ohne alles. Es gab keine extra Kuchlein, was in dieser Preisklasse angemessen wäre, und auch keine Kerze. Die Bedienung hat ihren Fehler erst verstanden, als wir angefangen haben, die Geschenke zu überreichen. Da kam eine schwache Entschuldigung. Und erst, als ihr klar wurde, dass ich extrem unzufrieden mit dem Ablauf war. Auch nachdem wir bereits bezahlt hatten und gehen wollten, kam plötzlich eine andere Person, vermutlich eine Managerin, und hat ein Glas Sekt dem Geburtstagskind angeboten. Das Geburtstagskind wollte stattdessen einen Cappuccino. Wir haben dann auch noch weitere zehn Minuten gewartet, bis er kam. Ja, man kann sich wundern, warum ich so enttäuscht bin, obwohl wir schließlich einen Cappuccino für die vergessene Kerze bekommen haben. Ich finde aber, dass ich in einem Restaurant, in dem ich 70 € pro Person bezahle und entsprechend viel Trinkgeld hinterlasse, nicht wie in einem Ort behandelt werden sollte, in dem das gesamte Abendessen für vier Personen 70 € kostet.

Wir sind spontan über das Karnevalswochenende angereist. Und waren sehr positiv überrascht. Das ganze Objekt ist mit hohem Aufwand kürzlich komplett saniert worden. Sehr ansprechend. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend mit sehr gutem Essen und guter Weinauswahl. Guter Service (Elena)! Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag von meiner Frau: Kosmetiktücher im Bad und Kosmetik Spiegel fehlten. Hinweis an Betreiber: Sie sollten auch Außenaufnahmen von der Anlage und dem Hotel in Booking COM einstellen.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Hotelzimmer fantastisch. Die Lage ist wunderschön, idyllisch an einem kleinen Bach gelegen und bietet eine sehr romantische Atmosphäre.

Sehr gutes Restaurant, mit hervorragendem Service und ausgezeichneten Speisen.

Wunderschön an der Nette gelegen kann man hier bei gutem Essen und erlesenen Weinen die Seele baumeln lassen.

Wir waren mit unseren Töchtern für ein gemütliches, aber auch sehr schickes Abendessen dort. Es hat uns alle begeistert. Service, die Qualität des Essens und die Atmosphäre. Schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen.

The Hammesmühle is a regional insider tip for anyone who appreciates traditional German cuisine with a refined touch and is willing to pay a bit more for the quality of the ingredients and the preparation. Considering the, in our opinion, successful ambiance of the modernized mill and its unique location on the Nette River, we hope that many more guests will appreciate what it offers, ensuring the continued existence of this culinary option in these challenging times for the region. We are eagerly anticipating the outdoor seating area currently under construction, which should perfectly complement the concept and further enhance its appeal – with a carefully considered number of tables.

We ate here for the first time. Beautiful location. Both the food and the service were excellent. Our beef cheek was incredibly tender and, with the side dishes, truly divine. We'd love to come back again.

We had dinner there on Sunday – great atmosphere, excellent cuisine, only the service could have been a bit more attentive. All in all – a very good experience.

I visited Hammesmühle again and I have to say: the food wasn't just very good, it was even better than on my previous visits. It's clear the kitchen team has improved significantly. The dishes are perfectly seasoned, impeccably prepared, and overall very well-rounded. The service was also excellent. Attentive, friendly, and pleasantly present without being intrusive. Exactly what you want. What really stood out for me was the atmosphere. Quiet, relaxed, and very pleasant. A place where you can truly unwind and enjoy the evening. All in all, I highly recommend it. You leave satisfied and with the feeling of having had a truly wonderful evening.

We were there on November 21st, 2025. The service was terrible. We had to wait what felt like 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, and then it took over 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Now for the food: the dishes were only lukewarm, and the vegetables were raw. I'm not a rabbit! No one even bothered to check if we wanted anything else when our drinks were empty! The location is superb, even on a rainy late autumn day. This starts with the well-maintained parking lot and continues in the restaurant area, where old and new are blended in a truly excellent way. The charming decorative details complement the tasteful ambiance. From the initial greeting to the final farewell, the service is consistently attentive, friendly, and very courteous. The food, both the main course and dessert, perfectly matched the ambiance at all times. It was a delight both in terms of taste and presentation. In short: Here, the guest is truly king!

We ate at Hammesmühle for the second time today. This time the restaurant was very busy. As a result, the kitchen was completely overwhelmed. My wife waited 45 minutes for her soup, and my main course, Wiener Schnitzel, arrived after 80 minutes. The staff didn't notice this and only reacted after we complained, just like with other tables. I then cancelled the dessert. If the restaurant isn't able to handle a large number of bookings, it shouldn't accept them.

Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. We had hoped for more for the price, and the food wasn't particularly good. The location is romantically beautiful, which is a plus.

This evening, the two of us dined at Hammesmühle and unfortunately had a very mixed experience. First, the positives: The food was excellent. From the appetizers and soup to the main courses, everything was high-quality, delicious, and prepared with care. The kitchen team undoubtedly delivers the level of service one would expect from a fine-dining restaurant. The service, however, fell far short of this standard. Right at the beginning, a beer was spilled on me while being served. Mistakes happen – and the server apologized several times, so I don't blame her. What was completely unacceptable, however, was how the restaurant handled the incident: - I was initially charged in full for the spilled beer. - Only after I inquired was it removed from the bill. - In addition, I had to order a replacement beer myself, instead of it being offered automatically and as a matter of course. Especially in fine dining – and particularly within the Dötsch Restaurant Group, which stands for professionalism and customer focus – such treatment falls far short of the standards I expect. The approach was completely at odds with the otherwise established reputation of the other restaurants. The rest of the service was equally disappointing: Wait times were consistently very long, both for drinks and later when trying to order dessert. After waiting around 20 minutes for someone to take our order, we ultimately decided against dessert altogether. In addition, empty glasses remained on our table – as well as on several neighboring tables – for an extended period without being cleared or offered new orders. From a culinary perspective, the Hammesmühle offers a truly wonderful experience. The cuisine is excellent across the board. However, the service falls significantly short of the establishment's standards and, in particular, below the usual quality level. We went to the Hammesmühle restaurant last night for goose. It was a truly wonderful evening with excellent food. The appetizer and dessert were also very impressive. The service was superb, very attentive, and above all, fun and cheerful. We will definitely be back.

I've been here many times and have always been very satisfied. After the extensive renovations, I wanted to visit this beautiful restaurant again and enjoy the usual excellent cuisine. I was bitterly disappointed. As always, the welcome was friendly, professional, and outstanding. The renovations also seem to have been successful. I ordered the corn-fed chicken breast with wild broccoli. It tasted delicious, however, only the meat was hot; all the side dishes and sauce were cold. After eating about two-thirds of the chicken, I discovered raw, bloody pieces. This isn't just a mistake; it can quickly become life-threatening. A restaurant of this caliber shouldn't allow this to happen. I received an apology, and my wine order was canceled. Well, I won't be back anytime soon. I feel quite ill.

We were there with our family for a meal, so I can't comment on the rooms. The restaurant is located in Nettetal, not far from the town of Mayen. It appears to have been renovated in recent years and is very nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The only downside was that we sometimes had to wait quite a while before being asked about drinks. The prices are also a bit high. All in all, we can recommend the restaurant and would visit again.

We stayed there for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The whole atmosphere is harmonious, and you can feel the attention to detail. The rooms are a comfortable size and simply furnished in a cozy style. The beds are wonderfully comfortable. The shower is fantastic, with plenty of space and enough hooks for towels (someone was really thinking practically!). And the shower gel... simply wonderful! We received a very warm welcome, and the service was excellent. The food was also great. It's not exactly cheap, but quality comes at a price. A very nice location. Our food was high-quality and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. We never had to wait long for anything, even though we were there on a Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy. We had a lovely evening, thank you very much!

Disappointing. Nothing special about the food, just ordinary, home-style cooking at high prices for what you get. Unfortunately, it's not very refined. 0.1 l of red wine for €8, an appetizer platter for €29 for two with some salmon, salad, a few pieces of sausage, a few snails, and pieces of cheese. We had to wait two hours for the main course, which was served lukewarm. And that was even though we all had the same dish (a piece of meat with mashed potatoes and cabbage). There was a birthday party going on in the restaurant with 15 (+-) people, but according to the waiter, they were even considering closing the restaurant to all other guests; they should have done that before. In any case, we won't be back. The previous owner still served honest food.

I had a room for the DTM weekend. Unlike other hotels in the area, this one was the regular price and without an event surcharge. The location, service, and food were really great. They're normally closed on Mondays. But since I had booked the night before Monday, they prepared an extra breakfast. That's out of the ordinary. Thank you, and I'd be happy to come back.

We stayed for two nights. Since we were out and about during the day, we used the hotel as a place to stay overnight. The hotel was exceptionally beautiful; we felt very comfortable. The food was excellent, and the service was very friendly and helpful. Once everything is running smoothly, this hotel will certainly be a first choice for many. We would love to come back! As a long-time fan of the Hammesmühle, I hope that – now – the previous level will be consistently reached again in all areas, or even exceeded. The Hammesmühle justifiably has high standards. But so do its guests. These standards must be consistently delivered. This cannot change if the staff is partly on vacation. The standard is too high for that, including the price. With all the existing expertise, consistency at a high level is now required. The renovation is complete. There are no longer any reasons for a lack of consistency. No events are currently being advertised? Should the menu be expanded in the spring? Provide information about afternoon offerings? Or even about specials on the menu?

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The food was good, but nothing more. We were full and it tasted good, but some ingredients were missing and it wasn't well presented. The service was very poor; we didn't have any drinks for a long time and waited forever for the food. We were there for a good 2.5 hours before we had eaten. The restaurant wasn't full and there wasn't much going on. The price-performance ratio was absolutely excessive for the service. It's a shame; it used to be nice there.

To be fair, the chef was on vacation. The food was really not good... the steak was tasteless, the brewer's sauce tasted burnt, the beans were raw, the potatoes were fried brown but also completely raw. Not sure how that's possible... The soup to start with was good, as was the cold soup with melon and a shrimp. It was a singular, lonely meal without a partner. Otherwise, the mill has been beautifully renovated but not for children (good thing ours wasn't there ✌🏽 Hope that after the massive investment in renovation, which is absolutely fantastic, that it survives... We went to Rewe and are now full.

We were there for the 4-course menu. Since I don't eat fish, I had the beef carpaccio instead of the cold melon soup with shrimp. This cost an extra €9. The restaurant isn't for those on a budget, but the quality and service speak for themselves. The interior is very nice and modern. Besides the 4-course menu, the restaurant has a small menu, which I prefer, and there's something for every taste. If you want to have a nice evening, I highly recommend the 4-course menu. The drinks menu is very extensive, but there are also non-alcoholic alternatives, which is very important to me. 5/5 stars for the evening.

Yes and no! The room was very nice and modern. The food was well laid out, the schnitzel was wafer-thin and very small, and on a Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. the rib-eye steak was apparently already sold out, how embarrassing. The restaurant wasn't full, maybe half full. My brother also ordered schnitzel with potato salad and got fries instead. They wanted to bring a new plate, but he said they should leave it, it's okay. Since it's supposed to be fine dining, I would have brought him a small bowl of potato salad. Unfortunately, that didn't happen! The next morning, unfortunately, there wasn't even a piece of fresh fruit for breakfast, which I find a bit meager considering the price of an overnight stay of 169 euros, even if there had only been a piece of melon. It took ages to find someone to even get a coffee, since the young chef seemed to be in charge of everything on his own. There wasn't even a table set up anywhere that you would know where to sit, very strange! All in all, there's still a lot of work to be done to fully satisfy guests at this rather high price level. I've had much better experiences elsewhere. The beautiful location alone isn't enough! For coffee, we only had Bienenstich, which had already been served the day before. The head waiter didn't even know what kind of cake they had, so my relatives left without anything. Our conclusion: We've had much better meals at cheaper prices and with higher-quality food. We won't be going there again. It's a shame, because the Hammesmühle was always something special! Back in the day, Mr. Lassner's was always great, and he even came to the tables to ask if they enjoyed their meal and if everything was okay. That didn't happen here either. I just hope things improve...

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and we can only say one thing to all of you: don't be so stingy and dare to spend some money; you won't be disappointed. We were a little disappointed, as it was our first time back since the renovations... And even though we had made a reservation and indicated it was an anniversary, we were seated at a dark table with no view, but on the train. The service was really attentive, but it was busy. Our conclusion: the price-performance ratio isn't right. The €30 appetizer platter was nice, but the snails weren't tasty, too dry. The lamb was great, but the vegetables advertised on the menu were practically nonexistent, and the spaetzle were dry (like the snails). The Eifel beef was very good, but at €45, it was also very expensive. All in all, a solid experience, but with room for improvement.

We went there for a 60th birthday dinner. We were actually quite happy, as the country inn looks very good from the outside, and the menu was also promising. Unfortunately, the service was not what we expected. Considering that there weren't many guests (5 tables occupied, no large groups), the staff still seemed overwhelmed and unprofessional in their work. When we ordered, the waiter was unfortunately unable to answer any detailed questions about the menu or the individual components of the appetizer platter. Despite the small number of main courses, he didn't know every one. Also, a place setting was missing at our table, which he brought upon request, but with a flippant remark. The wine we ordered was delicious, but had pieces of cork in it. There was an inedible piece of food underneath my schnitzel that looked a bit like a serving dish. When I pointed this out, there was neither an apology nor any further explanation. Overall, we received our main courses 1.5 hours after ordering, which I find quite long for a small group like us and the restaurant not very busy. Aside from the fact that the portions weren't particularly large for the hefty price (the risotto was just a layer of rice covering the bottom), the food tasted very good. The wine, apart from the cork, was also very tasty. Nevertheless, the long wait, the overwhelmed staff, and the perceived disinterest of the waiter made it a rather mediocre restaurant experience.

After we found the Hammesmühle by chance yesterday and Maps told us it's closed on Tuesdays, we went there today and had dinner. What can I say: A BLAST!! The food – we had the lamb ragout and the rump steak – was perfectly prepared... the ragout was so tender, I almost didn't have to chew the meat, and the sauce with the gnocci... simply delicious. My husband was also very enthusiastic about the rump steak and side dishes. We found the ambiance very appealing (classy but not pretentious, the seating was very well coordinated in terms of color, the decor wasn't overpowering but very fitting, etc.), and the two employees were very friendly and accommodating. We'll be back, if only to see what the finished outdoor area looks like. All in all, we were happy to pay a little more for this atmosphere with THE food. It's definitely worth it! Today, the three of us spontaneously stopped by the Hammesmühle after a visit to Bürresheim Castle. We were very pleasantly surprised after the renovation. The food was delicious (ice cream, waffles, and veal frikadelle), the ambiance in the conservatory was lovely, and the service was friendly, prompt, and courteous. We'll be back for another meal during peak season!

Six of us came here for dinner. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated. The Hammesmühle has always had a unique charm due to its location and history, which is now presented in a modern way. The service was friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive in every respect. All the dishes tasted absolutely perfect! Everything just came together perfectly. Absolutely fantastic. There was one downside to the visit, however. The fact that there is no "children's menu" isn't really a problem; the waitress offered great alternatives upon request. While the main courses were great, the kids' dishes were unfortunately presented with a particularly poor presentation. Nothing was properly prepared, not even a "salad garnish" on the plate, which unfortunately didn't fit in with an otherwise absolutely fantastic evening. But that certainly won't stop us from coming back. Maybe then, with the kids, but more likely in the afternoon.

Considering how exceptionally good the restaurant is, the visit was rather disappointing. I simply would have expected more for that kind of money. The starter plate for €19 was really underwhelming: a bit of salmon, which was definitely very tasty, four slices of ham, a bit of goat cheese, half a port fig, and a slice of black pudding. Especially since the black pudding was almost overcooked. The salad was far too large in proportion, and the individual components didn't really stand out. The main course wasn't bad either; it featured a duet of fine fish. The portion size was okay, but it looked a bit like it had been simply thrown onto the plate, especially since the plate was so hot that I burned myself. The lentils and vegetables were partly mixed together. I didn't like the restaurant itself at all from the inside; it looked neither cheap nor elegant; I found it more modern and bland. The service was quick and attentive. Overall, the food was okay, but for the price, the visit was rather disappointing. There are much better restaurants where, in my opinion, you can eat much better in a more pleasant atmosphere for significantly less money.

On holiday in the Eifel this week we had an exceptionally delicious dinner at Hammesmühle. An atmospheric, beautifully decorated restaurant. As a main course my husband had a combination of edelfish, I had a vegetarian dish. Everything was delicious and original. Our desserts were also delicious. Compliments for the personal and friendly service. We highly recommend Hammesmühle!

Been there for the first time and I think there is still room for improvement for the price! The ambience is really great, even if the lighting in the parking lot leaves a lot to be desired. Service still needs to be found, was friendly but not present enough to the guests given the number of staff. Food would have been ok for a cheaper price, but unfortunately it wasn't that great for the price that was quoted. For €29 for a Wienerschnitzel, I would like to demand that it be medium medium and not baked dry. Rump steak was cooked well, the quality of the meat could be improved. Loup de mer was very small in terms of the portion of one fillet for the price of 32€ Unfortunately the duck wasn't that soft. It can definitely be improved, and I hope that criticisms will be addressed so that the next visit might be a highlight

I review my visit with family to the Christmas buffet: The parking lot is only partially filled with gravel. On a wet winter day, you can be sure that your car will be completely dirty - inside and out. Let's get to the buffet itself: There is beef broth with meat added. The broth was so dark that I didn't dare try the soup. The starters were beautifully arranged in glasses, but the taste was not convincing. The carpaccio was frozen... and somehow topped with hollandaise sauce... well... The taste of the goose rillette was unrecognizable. There was also frozen broccoli with almond slivers, celery puree from the Metro bucket and packets of spaetzle with poppy seeds... but that didn't help to hide the lack of quality. The venison goulash tasted okay - the saddle of beef was very good. The fish, on the other hand, was third rate at best and served on over-salted spinach. For children - and you have to expect that children will come at Christmas - there was exactly: nothing. The food offered for sale was not edible for children. Fries with chicken would have helped... We didn't get to have dessert. When we drove home after 1 1/2 hours, completely disappointed and with hungry children, no dessert was offered. Conclusion: Third-class cuisine and service in an average, cozy atmosphere... too expensive for that. We won't be back any time soon and will wait and see how things develop from a distance.

Hello. I'm actually not a fan of bad Google reviews. But in this case I have to get rid of the whole thing. We had dinner there with our family today for Christmas Day. We were very happy that the Hammesmühle, which we loved so much, had reopened. It also started very well. The service was all very, very friendly. But then things got off to a bad start. The prices have really risen sharply. Which is not the issue these days when everything has become more expensive. We're happy to pay a little more for good food. But the portions of the main course and the dessert are so small that at least I was thinking about going to McDonald's afterwards. There wasn't even a greeting from the kitchen beforehand. Which also disappointed us very much. Unfortunately, this seems to be just a money machine from the Doetsch brothers. It's really a shame that you only have memories of this beautiful place😞. And I would like to remind you again afterwards that it wasn't the service or the quality of the food

A few days ago I had dinner at Hammesmühle with my brother and our ladies. Here is my conclusion: We knew and appreciated the “old” Hammes mill for decades. We often ate, drank, sang and celebrated there. We were therefore excited about the “new” Hammes mill. The impression given by the rooms and the furnishings was very positive. Finally the harsh and loud sound caused by the previous stone floor and the lack of sound absorption was gone and it was comfortable. The welcome was friendly and we had a nice table. When ordering the drinks, we chose two non-alcoholic beers from a particular brewery from the drinks menu in addition to a few wines. But it turned out that we had been served a beer from another brewery without saying a word. A query to the staff was met with the answer that the beer we ordered was not currently available. We would have expected to be informed of this change when ordering. A first feeling of dissatisfaction arose. Our ladies chose FRIED ZANDER, beurre blanc, cream sauerkraut and mashed potatoes with nettle oil (a typo in the menu) and MEDITERRANEAN COUSCOUS, basil foam, dried cherry tomatoes, pine nuts and ratatouille. The couscous was well received, the pike perch's cream sauerkraut was a bit weak, the nettle oil was probably Swiss nationality and therefore very neutral in taste. But it was pretty green. My guest and I had BRAISED BEEF CHEEKS with pinot noir jus, celery puree and glazed carrots and diced potatoes. The glazed carrots that appeared on three of our plates would probably have sent a Corega Tabs user to the dentist the next day because they were more than al dente. The step from raw nature to pre-cooking to glazing was probably omitted. It's a shame I don't have a horse at home, he would have been happy. The celery puree was prepared in a 1:1 ratio: one hundredweight of potatoes and one celery root. The unanimous opinion was that the distinctive taste of the celery could not be found in any corner of the puree. That was absolutely nothing. On the other hand, the beef cheeks were good, very well braised, tender and with a fine taste. Jus and potato cubes were okay with room for improvement. Conclusion: The atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly and good, except for the slip-up when ordering drinks. A nice and clear arrangement of the food on the plate and ambitious pricing do not make a gourmet restaurant. But the “new” Hammes mill is still in its early stages, so there is still room for hope for improvement. For example, when fixing and lighting the parking areas.

Best restaurant in and around Mayen. Excellent food.
