Hamlet in Berlin

Six of us were there for dinner two days ago. The service was pretty quick and we never had to wait long, but it wasn't very friendly. You had the feeling that the waitress was annoyed if you didn't want to order something straight away. Extra requests such as a different side dish are not welcome and are not always possible, but at these prices they should be. Unfortunately, the rump steak had a pretty thick edge of fat and the risotto was more similar to rice with tomato sauce than to risotto. When the tip wasn't quite 10% because you couldn't pay it by card but only in cash, the waitress couldn't even say thank you and seemed "snatched". We won't go there again as you can really eat better for the prices. You are not valued there as a guest.

I've been coming here since 2008, so there's probably an older review too. Very pleasant restaurant, with excellent food. And for lunch the Full English Breakfast, very special.

Super delicious breakfast! We can definitely recommend the Hamlet record! The children also found the egg dishes and hummus very tasty! We'd love to come back!

Very nice restaurant with high quality food at the appropriate price. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant. Depending on your mood and the number of people, you can choose between a guest room, a counter or an adjoining room. Everything is clean and looks well-kept. The food, I had Lamb Nubia, was very nicely prepared and tasted excellent. It was just a little too little for my hunger (it was for dinner and hadn't eaten anything since the morning... Maybe it's my own fault). The drinks were well tempered.

The Hamlet restaurant is a real recommendation! The menu offers a great selection of simple but excellently prepared dishes that are refined with an interesting touch of Arabic cuisine. Every bite was simply delicious, and the combination of quality, taste and creativity was completely convincing. A great restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere – I’ll definitely be back!

We went here for breakfast which was certainly very satisfying. The service was very decent. The vibe is a little formal for my liking but there weren’t a lot of places that had reservations available for a group of six. We had the breakfast for 2 with meat, which I believe was €36. I consider this to be a good price.

Wir gehen seit Jahren im Hamlet essen und sind nach wie vor vom Ambiente, der Bedienung und den Speisen begeistert. Unsere Empfehlung lautet "Lamm Nubien" und Tee mit Frischer Minze im Glas mit Honig.

A diverse selection. There is both Italian and German cuisine here, perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dishes are delicious and fresh and the service is always friendly.

Always delicious and friendly, funny service

We are regular customers and always enjoy coming to Hamlet because of the good food and the very good service (waitresses)! However, there are also two points that are really not nice... Every now and then, but unfortunately, the glasses smell unpleasantly like an old drying cloth... And what we find absolutely impossible is the fact that dogs are not only tolerated there, but also on the benches We were allowed to take a seat at the table... unfortunately we also had to observe several times how dogs were provided with a small serving plate to eat. We have nothing against dogs but in our opinion this is absolutely not possible! We don't want to sit on a place where a dog was previously sitting and his dripping snout is always over the tablecloth and we certainly don't want to be served a plate that a dog has previously eaten!!! It's absolutely unclear to us how something like this can happen on a regular basis... but of course it makes dog owners happy because they like having their pet at the table with them! And since something like this is of course not normally tolerated in any restaurant, these dog lovers seem to feel particularly comfortable there. If it weren't for these facts that we had to observe several times, we would give Hamlet 5 stars because of the excellent cuisine and first-class service.

A great place for a perfect breakfast experience on the Ku’damm! This restaurant is simply fantastic when it comes to breakfast. The selection of dishes is impressive – everything is fresh, lovingly prepared and incredibly tasty. I was particularly impressed by the baked goods and the creative breakfast platters! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the location on the Ku’damm makes it the perfect place to enjoy the morning in style. No matter whether you are looking for a relaxed start to the day or want to fortify yourself after a short stroll through the city - you will feel right here. The friendly staff and the charming surroundings complete the experience. An absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy their breakfast in a special way. I'll definitely be back!

Ate there in the afternoon today. Friendly service and the 3 lunch dishes were excellent. I will eat there again and can only recommend Hamlet

Wir waren am Sonntag zum Frühstück ( bis 15:00 angeboten )im Hamlet. Der Service verlief zügig und freundlich. Der grüne Tee mit Honig war ok. Das englische Frühstück nicht riesig, aber qualitativ hochwertig. Dazu 3 (!) Brötchen und leckeres Brot, prima. Meine Tochter hatte leckeres Ei mit Avocado und extra Schafskäse. Sehr gut, auch das gesondert bestellte Hummus. Insgesamt lecker und gut. Auf meine Bitte kamen noch ein kleines Schälchen Butter ( ca. 5 Gramm ) und ein kleines Schälchen Marmelade, ok aber nichts Besonderes. Dafür aber je 2 € extra zu berechnen, halte ich für ein no go. Das trübt den insgesamt sehr guten Eindruck!

Very attractive restaurant in the heart of Berlin, but still away from the usual tourist crowds. The food was certainly not cheap, but it was very tasty. The service staff are a force - in a good mood, very hard-working and helpful. I would visit again at any time and I highly recommend it.

The Hamlet Restaurant in Berlin impresses with its stylish ambience and attentive service. For my dinner I chose the “Oriental” turkey strips – a successful dish with fine spices, perfectly rounded off by the side dishes. The combination of taste and presentation was impressive. The service was friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was ideal for a relaxing evening. The prices are justified for the quality. Conclusion: A wonderful place for a special dinner – highly recommended! 🌟

Very nice atmosphere and delicious cuisine. It's just annoying when duck leg is on the menu and then there's none left and you have to make do with chicken breast instead. Looks very much like a decoy offer (unfair advertising).

Newly discovered favorite place for breakfast. Large breakfast selection until 3 p.m., magically prepared. Friendly service that cares about the many regular customers. Everything is taken care of to make you feel comfortable. Hopefully there again soon.

Breakfast really top! Very tasty, beautifully prepared. Atmosphere chic design but tablecloths unfortunately a bit dirty. Unfortunately we don't have any latte & the heart on the Latte M. You couldn't tell that way... Otherwise everything is good.

Excellent breakfast, friendly and attentive service and a nice atmosphere. I had the Italian breakfast. It was a well put together plate and the quark was simply unbeatable. We would definitely come back.

Wir waren zum Frühstück hier eingekehrt, Reservierung erwies sich als sehr sinnvoll. Wir wollten das Frühstück zu zweit in der Variante für drei ordern, aber die freundliche Bedienung lehnte mit dem Hinweis „langt locker für drei“ ab. In der Tat ist es für zwei Personen nur schwer zu schaffen. Es war alles sehr lecker und mit Getränken und Trinkgeld sind wir 25€ pro Person losgeworden - preiswert.

The "Hamlet" has been one of my absolute favorite restaurants since the 90s - as has my sisters', one of ours even celebrated her 50th birthday here and traveled with her family from Switzerland, and it was beautiful as always! Whenever I came to Berlin from the States while visiting Germany, I had to visit Hamlet, heavenly atmosphere, delicious food, mega-friendly and warm-hearted service from Heidi, Georges and all the lovely staff. Every birthday in our family is now celebrated there, meetings with good friends, the atmosphere is always fantastic, everything is just right. The service really comes from the heart, the location is also a hit, it has the flair of Paris in the middle of Berlin's most beautiful area. Highly recommended, consistently top for decades, thank you very much and keep it up! 10 stars! 👌

The food was very good. We were there with 6 people on Friday evening and left almost €300. At 10 p.m. we were asked to pay because the waitress still had to clean up. The opening times are probably a bit individual. We would have liked to stay longer because we thought we were in the big city. Mistake. A pity! We'll probably celebrate somewhere else in the future.

The Hamlet platter for two people was very rich and tasty and we liked both the ambience and the service. We'd love to come back.

Good enough. I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere here. It was around 21 % oxygen, which is about right. I'm not sure if twerking is allowed, but there's no signs expressly forbidding it. If you're arriving by glider, check the local wind conditions.

The price/performance ratio is not right. I won't go there again.

Das Essen - wir waren zum Frühstücken dort - wie immer üppig, lecker und ansprechend angerichtet. Auch das Essen der umliegenden Tische sah sehr appetitlich aus. Zudem ein sehr netter und zuvorkommender Service. Wir gehen sehr gern hierher - egal, ob zum Frühstück, zur Mittags- oder Abendzeit!

The service here is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. We waited 10 minutes to be approached and given a menu. Then, they serves the kaiserschmarrn without the Nutella. We asked for it and ended up going in to ask for it again after 15 min. Then, asked for the check and waited 10 min! To pay after asking for 2 times more! When the waiter finally came to take my payment, he sarcastically told me I’m friendly because I gave him no tip… I was shocked! Told him tip come with work! I cannot believe he thought he deserved any extra from me. The food was nice but the service ruined the experience. 26€ for 2 coffees, juice and dessert is cool if the service is exceptional. Well, never again.

We have been going to Hamlet regularly for many years, often on special occasions, often with friends. We are always very satisfied. The food is fantastic. The price-performance ratio is excellent. Our relatives and friends are always happy when we invite them to Hamlet. I especially recommend the Lamb Nubia. Always perfect and to the point! My son swears by the Wiener Schnitzel. And my husband loves the roast beef, especially because of the fried potatoes. And we all love the appetizer platter!

Very pleasant atmosphere with nice furnishings and lighting. Good selection of food and wine that goes well together and is varied. Nicely prepared. Only the potato salad with the Wiener Schnitzel was too powerful for me.

Wir sind Stammgäste seit gut zwei Jahren und zwei bis drei Mal im Monat abends oder mittags zu zweit oder mit Familie, Freund:innen oder Kolleg:innen im Hamlet. Wir gehen oft außer Haus essen und probieren gern verschiedene Lokale und Speisen aus. Das Hamlet ist vermutlich das einzige Restaurant, das wir in den vergangenen Jahren so oft besucht haben und kein einziges Mal enttäuscht oder nicht gänzlich zufrieden waren. Die Karte könnte vielleicht abwechslungsreicher sein, aber es hat auch Vorteile, im Voraus zu wissen, was angeboten werden wird. Die Damen des Services sind stets aufmerksam und freundlich, Stammkräfte teils seit vielen Jahren und deshalb souverän. Selbstverständlich fühlen wir uns immer herzlich willkommen, anderenfalls wären wir keine Stammgäste. Wir wissen nicht genau, wer kocht, es gibt geringe Schwankungen bei der Zubereitung, selten bei der Qualität und beim Anrichten, sie bewegen sich jedoch in einem jedoch in einem sehr verlässlichem Rahmen. Das Essen und die Getränke erreichen immer ein anspruchsvolles Niveau, das aus unserer Sicht angemessen und vergleichsweise günstig entgolten wird. Wir fühlen uns im Hamlet immer rundum wohl und können es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wir nehmen immer die große frühstücksplatte für 2. Immer ein Genuß! Familienfreundlich

Lecker Essen in schöner Umgebung

Wir hatten geschäftlich für 20 Personen reserviert. Vier Tische waren stilvoll im hinteren Bereich des Restaurants arrangiert. Zunächst wurden für alle köstliche Vorspeisenplatten serviert. Dann haben wir diverse Hauptgerichte bestellt. Alles war sehr gut. Insbesondere der sehr gute Service des Personals ist heraus zu stellen. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen.

We always go to the restaurant when visiting Berlin. So we have been coming here for several years. Best Vorspeise for 2 people. We take it as our main course (as advised by the kind waiter, because it's a lot of food!) and a bottle of wine plus tips.

Alles sehr frisch und raffiniert gewürzt.Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis wohl nicht zu toppen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung habe mich sofort h will herzlich willkommen gefühlt. Sehr abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte. Werde sicherlich auch das eine oder andere Gericht probieren und komme sehr gerne wieder. 🌹

Freundliche flotte Bedienung. Essen war gut. Der Fisch war allerdings etwas trocken geraten.

Für einen Wochentag zum Frühstücken war es sehr voll. Haben also Glück gehabt, da wir nicht reserviert hatten. Schönes Ambiente, überall weiße, wertige Tischdecken und nette Bedienung. Die Platte zum Frühstück war gut und wirkte durch das Obst sehr opulent. Sehr gutes Rührei.

Gediegenes Restaurant in gepflegter Atmosphäre mit einer bereits langjährigen Mischung aus berliner und orientalischer Küche. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Der Koch hängt wenig großstädtisch ab 22:00 Uhr die Schürze an den Nagel und beim Bezahlen werden nicht alle Kreditkarten akzeptiert.

ACHTUNG - Videoüberwachung!!! Früher konnte man von dem Buisness-Lunch satt werden, heute ist es ziemlich einfallslos und dazu noch überteuert. Aber das ist nicht der Grund meines Missvergnügens. Es liegt vielmehr darin begründet, das dort inzwischen in den Gasträumen an den Decken Überwachungskameras installiert wurden. Das ist, meines Wissens, eigentlich gar nicht statthaft. Sollten hier die Gäste oder das Personal ausspioniert werden? Wie oder wer auch immer. Der Geschäftsinhaber sollte sich schämen. Nie wieder ...
