Went there for lunch on Christmas Day, there was salad with chicken breast strips and salmon fillet with vegetable tagliatelle in saffron sauce. Simply delicious, I haven't had such a good salmon fillet in a long time. The service was also super friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back

Perfect experience at Hacklberg Bräustüberl, Passau Our visit to the Hacklberg Bräustüberl was simply perfect! The quality of the food was excellent – ​​everything was fresh, lovingly prepared and typically Bavarian. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, so we immediately felt at home. We were particularly impressed by the great location: rustic, cozy and with a very special charm that makes the stay unforgettable. Whether inside or in the beer garden – everything fits here. We will definitely come back and can only recommend this inn to anyone who values ​​quality and an authentic Bavarian atmosphere!

Either the Bräustüberl has a new chef or something else but the food here is no longer as good as it used to be! Somehow everything was overcooked or warmed up.... The grater dumplings were far too dry. (The best grater dumplings in the city of Passau can be eaten in the Altes Bräuhaus) What a shame!

We ordered an apricot spritz, which was delicious, the Hacklberger wheat beer and a Hacklberger Helles, both very tasty. A boiled beef broth with a cheese dumpling that was great. A surbraten with two types of dumplings and coleslaw. This is how it should taste. Simply after authentic cuisine. When we are in the area again, we would love to come back to the Hacklberger Bräustüberl

Just wanted to check whether the light beer in the brewery also has this strange aftertaste. Yes, it has. But the wheat beer is delicious, the atmosphere was right, the service was great and the knuckle on the menu convinced me to stay a little longer. 😊

Top! Great food, great service, cozy atmosphere. The roast pork and the veal liver were simply great. The price is unbeatable at €42 for the two dishes and two drinks. Plenty of free parking spaces directly on site. The service was friendly and the waiting time was very good. Not our first visit and definitely not our last. Simply a great place. We have already spent various evenings here, whether it was a Bavarian business lunch, a bachelor party or just driving by. A down-to-earth cuisine, a classic menu and a brewery atmosphere. A place where you can easily stop by and find good Bavarian cuisine such as Reindl, roast pork, schnitzel, cordon bleu, etc. Absolutely TOP!

The food was okay, but also a bit spartan. When we buy a car, all add-ons cost extra. For example, there are 4 sausages with sauerkraut as standard, but dumplings cost extra. But it tasted good. The ordering process only takes place via the canteen-like counter for self-collection; the waitress only brings drinks, which then have to be paid for immediately. A 0.5l beer costs €5.

Real beer garden weather today, very friendly welcome, you get assigned a seat without any stress, when ordering it was pointed out that it might take a while today, but after 10 minutes the food was there, it was simply very well made and good value for money -Ratio is fair and inexpensive, we can only warmly recommend it, this was our second visit today and it is simply very good, absolutely friendly top gastronomy and the service is simply very warm and friendly

Yesterday the three of us were here again 3 times and she was just great. Always a perfect address for good food, friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. This was certainly not the last visit.

Eat good; Service ok. BUT: Irritation when billing. In addition to the dishes we ordered, there were various other foods and drinks on the bill. I immediately noticed the food I hadn't eaten. No problem: old invoice slips are simply crumpled up and a new invoice is created; Then I notice more drinks that I didn't order - the same thing again, just "crunch it" and go, new bill. No clarification! No explanation! No apology! Or even a confident “Sorry - the espressos are on the house”... In response to my expressed irritation about such a strange confusion among professionals with an established billing system in a well-known company, I only replied: "Such a stressful day today..." - it really wasn't stressful, most of the places were (now) unoccupied! A simple mix-up of table numbers - which can happen - was obviously not the reason for the bill being around €15 too high, as the food and drinks we ordered were all listed correctly. It didn't matter that the food and drinks we overbooked probably had to be missing somewhere else, strange. It's a shame, I was left with a bland feeling.

The food was great. The people totally friendly and helpful. Environment very very attractive when the sun is shining. Unfortunately we were unlucky, it was raining. But we would still go there again and again if we were on holiday there.

Ambience and service very nice. Prices definitely too high. Two people can easily pay €50 for food and a beer each. The rolls are bad.

My (now) wife and I celebrated our wedding here. We've been here many times before and it's always been delicious! The staff is extremely accommodating and the atmosphere is great! Definitely a crown jewel of Passau!

We were there with our children. As soon as we sat down, painting supplies were brought, there is a games room. The service is very professional, friendly, on the ball... Even though the restaurant was quite full, we didn't have to wait long. The portions are large and taste excellent. The mushroom sauce is a poem. Big compliments to the kitchen. The atmosphere, especially the bar area, is a real eye-catcher... There is a huge beer garden in the garden, it's a shame that we live so far away. With a playground, to the delight of all parents...

The Hacklberger Bräustüberl is just as iconic in Passau as the associated beer garden. The restaurant is Bavarian-rustic and really beautiful. Also very large. The beer garden is enormously large and is self-service. I can't say whether bringing food with you is still allowed here these days, but I recommend packing a few extra euros anyway so that you can take advantage of the high-priced but very good food options on site. In the restaurant the prices are almost in line with the local average and only slightly higher. But the quality is really very good. There are plenty of parking spaces behind the restaurant. Motorcyclists are warmly welcomed. I definitely recommend making a reservation in the restaurant, but I can't say whether reservations can be made in the beer garden. However, you can easily inquire by telephone. The staff is very friendly with a good Bavarian charm. The food comes quickly and is beautifully presented. The entire ambience of the suburb is great, also great for children. There is a play tower in the beer garden. The toilets are neat and clean.

Really very good beer, great atmosphere, but the food was only mediocre. I had Wiener Schnitzel veal schnitzel, it was a huge portion but only the schnitzel pommea and ketchup. No cranberries, no lettuce. The meat was quite tough, lots of breading but overall disappointing.

We were here for dinner on Sunday lunch/afternoon. We ordered fried chicken with potato salad and roast in the Rein, with 2 light meats. Everything was at the table quickly and tasted very good. The Reindl was so filling that we took some home with us. There was also nice and attentive service. The price is absolutely ok and the location itself is also beautifully rustic and modern.
