Hacker-Pschorr Wirtshaus Regensburg im alten Augustiner Kloster in Regensburg

This was my first time here. We met up with family. Despite having a reservation, we couldn't get a table together. One table had already finished eating when the other table received their food, even though there were only 5 minutes between orders. The portions were far too small for the price. We left the restaurant hungry and paid almost €60-70 for two drinks, two main courses, and a side salad. The food was presented without any care and was lukewarm. In my opinion, it's far too overpriced for a meal that left you feeling empty, was presented without any care, and tasted okay. For that price, you expect excellent food, which wasn't the case. I wouldn't recommend it. You can get better food for less money.

Very nice restaurant for authentic Bavarian food and hospitality.

I can't describe it any other way. A truly lovely restaurant. I was there shortly after Christmas, and everything was still beautifully decorated. This added even more glamour and warmth to this wonderful old space. It all feels just like the name suggests, like a charming old inn, with its wooden tables and chairs, wooden floor, and antique pictures. The waitress, who casually resembles a slightly graying King Ludwig, sternly observing the goings-on in the inn from within a golden frame, was very attentive and quick. Always smiling, we had our drinks and even our food within just a few minutes. I had the Hacker-Pschorr schnitzel, a schnitzel with bacon and mountain cheese. An excellent choice, in my opinion. The meat was pounded thin, very tender, two slices, not too large, in a crispy cheese crust. The fried potatoes were good, perhaps a little too mushy, and a touch more bacon would have been nice. But the schnitzels were so good that I would have forgiven them anything. A wonderful restaurant, excellent food, and staff that are hard to find these days! Delicious, traditional Bavarian food. The prices are reasonable. Saxony could learn a thing or two about value for money here. The woman who served us was absolutely fantastic!

We ate at the inn and were absolutely delighted. The food was superb – fresh, hearty, and exactly what you'd expect from a good inn. A particular highlight was Ulrike, our waitress: cheerful, attentive, and with just the right amount of humor. A good atmosphere is essential in an inn – and thanks to her, it was perfect. We'll definitely be back!

Great restaurant to eat at in Regensburg! We ordered the meat platter and it did not disappoint—hearty, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The kids were happy with their nuggets and fries, and loved seeing “food from around the world” on the menu. The beer selection was fantastic, with lots of local options to choose from. Our waitress was amazing—super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for a traditional Bavarian meal in a charming setting!

Hacker-Pschorr was not my first choice for a restaurant in Regensburg, but turned out much better than expected. It has a very nice ambience (especially now with Christmas decorations), friendly and efficient service and good Bavarian food and beer. The shady garden must be very cozy in summer. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially compared to Austria.

This is exactly how tourists imagine a Bavarian inn! Great rooms, friendly service, good food!

So, our visit to the Hacker-Pschorr restaurant during our day trip to Regensburg today was definitely one of the highlights. Starting with the Hacker-Pschorr schnitzel, which was among the best schnitzels we've ever eaten – and we've had quite a few! ;-) The incredibly friendly waiter deserved 100 stars! And the unique atmosphere, enhanced by the beautiful Christmas decorations, was truly exceptional! It's a shame we live so far away! If we're ever in Regensburg again, we'd love to come back! There were two of us. I had a peppered pork knuckle, and instead of potato salad with sauerkraut, which wasn't a problem at all. My wife had a Hacker-Pschorr pork schnitzel with fried potatoes. The pepper crust was super crispy, and the bacon and sauerkraut were also very tasty. The breading on my wife's schnitzel was unusual but also very delicious; we'd never seen it anywhere before, and it was vaguely reminiscent of a potato pancake—a nice change. The fried potatoes were exactly as they should be: crispy and not too greasy. For dessert, we had an apple strudel with vanilla sauce, which, for once, didn't taste lukewarm from the microwave. The cream was also very rich and didn't taste like it came from a can. The staff was incredibly friendly, always attentive, and accommodating with small changes was no problem. We changed our reserved table, ordered more mustard, and I swapped my potato salad for sauerkraut. In some restaurants, that's become a major undertaking, but here it simply worked as it should. And the ambiance was perfect, too. You enter the restaurant through a large, high-ceilinged room with decorative ornaments on the ceiling and lots of lovely Christmas decorations. The next room with the bar isn't quite as high, but it's also beautifully decorated. In short: there was nothing to complain about, and we'll definitely be back in the summer to try out the beer garden.

A very nice Bavarian restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff. The food arrived quickly and tasted fantastic, and, importantly in my opinion, it was piping hot. I had a pork knuckle, and the crackling was amazing – cooked to perfection, crispy and not soggy or chewy at all. You'll definitely leave satisfied, and with the delicious beer, you can have a great time there. This certainly won't be our last visit.

We ordered white sausages. It took an unusually long time. The waiter told us at one point that the first ones had probably burst. When we finally got the white sausages, they were only lukewarm. That eating white sausages in a Bavarian brewery restaurant is so difficult... incomprehensible and truly disappointing.

It was actually a perfect visit – the food was great and the service was fantastic. Unfortunately, as I finished the rest of my beer in the beer garden, I encountered an extremely rude and arrogant waitress twice, who attacked both a chef and my waitress (who provided perfect service). Absolutely outrageous, his tone, his arrogance, and his manner in front of customers, completely unprofessional – I've never experienced anything like it before.

Friendly service, great atmosphere, lovely beer garden with shady seating. We had a good meal: boiled beef with potatoes and red cabbage, and a delicious 'Zicken' salad. The affogato for dessert was also great. We were on vacation, but otherwise we would come back anytime.

Despite visiting twice, our reservation request was not honored. 8 people could sit at a table for 6, but they couldn't dine properly. The manager declined our request to open the adjacent room with a suitable table, even though the distance from the counter to our table was roughly the same. We could have sat in the beer garden, he said. It was still 20 degrees there, and that at 7:30 p.m. A very unfriendly way of treating guests. We wanted to be inside and not eat cold food outside in 17 degrees. The waitress herself tried to ease our frustration. This happened on September 13, 2025. Hape

The best cheese spaetzle I've had in a long time. The service was very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was typical of a local pub.

We entered the wrong date for the reservation, and afterward, the waiter was rude and wanted to throw us out. However, I have to commend the younger waiters for their ability to resolve the issue, whereas the older ones were completely unfriendly and didn't seem to care. When we showed them the email with the reservation, they ignored us.

We forgot our reservation, and the service management was overwhelmed by the lack of alternatives. The young waiters aren't to blame. They're very friendly 👍 (only the young ones). Unfortunately, the food is all off-the-shelf. It tastes and looks like conventional food. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right. It feels like a tourist trap. It's a shame, but the manager takes this to heart ❤️, as Regensburg isn't worthy of it.

We had pork knuckle with dumplings and bratwurst with sauerkraut, and it was delicious! I found the shandy particularly delicious, and for once, very digestible for me. Crazy, as if they had guessed what our hungry hearts were beating for, then, after less than five minutes, the food was on the table. It was nice to look at, but lukewarm, and the rest wasn't that great either. Unfortunately 😭 Well, if it had been cheap... But the beer came just as quickly, and that was delicious... The bottom line: drinking, yes, eating, no....

A gem in Regensburg's city center. Friendly staff and excellent food at a great price.

The owners were unusually unfriendly, but fortunately the waiters were younger and more courteous. Despite the online announcement that it closed at 12:30 PM, at 10 PM the "boss" kicked out all the customers (the three of us and about ten others), saying it wasn't worth it to stay open for so few people!!! Plus, the prices were outrageous.

A very cozy beer garden located in a courtyard. The beer garden is shaded by large trees. The food is very good, and there are several beers to choose from. The servers are attentive and friendly. We always enjoy coming back!

My wife and I were here for the first time (Saturday 16.8), really nice place, excellent food, great beer but ....we have never experienced such unpleasant service in any restaurant. After the meal we wanted to have another drink but no one noticed us for a good half hour so we left and thanked them anyway. Maybe the problem was that we were foreigners, hard to say.

Nice location in a back courtyard of the city center. The food is plentiful and tastes okay, but nothing special. The soup is a bit too thick and unfortunately not well seasoned, but it's okay. The roasted meats are very tasty and well-seasoned.

We wanted some drinks, got some drinks.. Then a schnitzel arrived (which we didn't order).. We thought it was on the house! Sadly we paid for it without asking for it.. Not sure what happened. It was very nice though!

This dish was an absolute delight! The roast pork was tender and juicy, with a wonderfully rich gravy that was perfectly seasoned. The dumplings were fluffy, beautifully soft on the inside, and slightly chewy on the outside – just as they should be. And the sauerkraut? Hearty, slightly sour, and seasoned with bacon – simply delicious! You can tell right away that the food here is still cooked honestly and with love. The portion was more than generous and just the thing for anyone who loves hearty, traditional cuisine. The ambiance was also cozy – like grandma's on a Sunday. In conclusion: If you appreciate down-to-earth Franconian or Bavarian home cooking, this is the place to be. A truly comfort meal – I'd love to come back!

We drank beer and ate Obatzen (a kind of German pastry) there. Both were delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful when it suddenly started to rain.

Unfortunately, our visit to this beer garden was disappointing. Although we were looking forward to a relaxing evening outdoors, we were immediately greeted by the waiter in a bad mood. When I tried to grab an ashtray, I was rudely reprimanded and told to "wait." A short time later, he slammed the menus on our table and reprimanded me again – this time loudly in front of the other guests. This behavior was not only disrespectful but also deeply unprofessional. I would, however, like to highlight the colleague who tried to help us – she was friendly and courteous, which was in stark contrast to her colleague's behavior. Unfortunately, the evening had already been spoiled by the previous treatment, and we decided to leave the beer garden. We eventually found good food and friendly staff elsewhere – exactly what we would have hoped for. The manager wasn't present that evening. Unfortunately, quality doesn't seem to be a priority when selecting staff.

Hacker-Pschorr is a traditional Bavarian beer from Munich, with roots dating back to the 17th century. Ok, I don’t give many 5 star reviews because most places aren’t amazing and those that is good but overpriced isn’t worth 5 stars. This place had the best pork knuckle in the region as we ate them across the Danube river cruise, there other dishes were just as good and the beer selection are amazing. This place is good and priced reasonable.

I've never been there, but Hacker-Pschorr at the Old Augustinian Monastery is a treat for any Munich beer drinker. Regensburg Augustiner would be awesome. Therefore, one point deducted.
