I can't comment on the rooms, unfortunately, but the food was very good, the prices fair, and the service was truly very, very nice, friendly, and attentive. I simply have to mention her name: Jenny. I'd gladly come back anytime. They also go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable with your dog.

Had to come back and leave this review—sorry it took a while, but we visited over the summer and the experience was too memorable not to document. Bischofshof am Dom truly stood out. We were in town on a business trip with colleagues and friends, and what started as a convenient choice quickly became one of our favorite places. The service was absolutely incredible, and our server, Mr. Thadi, was truly splendid. We enjoyed it so much that we returned several times during our stay. Mr. Thadi went above and beyond, offering excellent recommendations on places to see around the city and nearby areas, which genuinely enhanced our visit. As a business owner myself, I can confidently say that having staff like Mr. Thadi on your team is exactly what makes a business thrive. Hats off to him for making our time in the city even more memorable. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We held our Christmas party here and had a lovely private room. The food was truly excellent and the service outstanding. Prices are quite high, as expected for the location, but the food was also very good.

The local shops also contribute to this ambiance 👍. The restaurant has a rustic interior and is nicely decorated in winter. The service was friendly and the food delicious. We had our company Christmas party and ate at a restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the food was very bad. The appetizer was presented without any care and barely seasoned. The meat for the main course was so dry and tough that I couldn't eat it; it had to be sent back. The dessert was also tasteless. All in all, it was the worst Christmas dinner I've ever had. The price-performance ratio was completely off.

Bischofshof is a beautiful historic building that goes back to the Middle Ages. The beer garden is lovely and relaxing. Food is good if you like topical Bavarian dishes HOWEVER, the wait staff and management are not very friendly nor welcoming to tourist AVOID it

We spent a weekend at the Bischofshof am Dom with a group of friends and colleagues (18 people). Two nights in the lovely deluxe rooms and a cozy dinner on Friday evening were included. We had lunch at the Bischofshof with visitors from Upper Bavaria. The white sausages were lukewarm. The shoulder of pork was almost cold. The pretzels and bread were stale. The Kaiserschmarrn was dry and not crispy, only somewhat edible with lots of apple compote. Very sad for such a renowned restaurant. We won't go back alone, let alone with visitors.

We were turned away due to "staff shortages" because we were a group of seven who "just" wanted a drink. The rejection was very rude and in no way reflects the good reviews. Never again!

Restaurant area: We arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. and wanted a drink. We waited to be seated as directed on a sign at the entrance. A waiter walked past, then a waitress, then back again, and then to the counter where two more employees were. We weren't given a word or any further attention. After a few minutes, we left again; it was very rude.

It tasted great. My choice was the goulash with spaetzle. A very nice beer garden in the back courtyard. Attentive and friendly service. 👍🏻

Unfortunately, my friends and I got the most unfriendly waiter. Our stay in this establishment was also marred by a swarm of green flies and wasps above our table (by the way, other visitors had the same problem).

Didn’t get the chance to try the food. While many of the severs were polite and friendly our waiter didn’t even look us in the face and was very rude speaking to my children. I hope to come back some other day and have more than a glass of water as the food looked great.

We were in the beer garden. The staff didn't approach us, but we had to make sure our presence was noticed. The sausage salad tasted completely off, and the bread was from last week. The guest at the next table had the same experience; another guest complained because the waiter stopped serving her. About 20 guests and three staff members—should that really be manageable?

It was a Saturday, and we had booked a family reunion at the restaurant, but we weren't allowed to drive into the parking garage. After a long search, we had to park our car in another garage.

Had a chance to visit in early August 2025. The hotel is an old castle style, located right in the old town, next to St. Peter's Church. The rooms are neat, clean, and have a minimalist design. The dining area is located next door. The beer is good, the food is not very good, the breakfast buffet has few dishes and does not change. If you like beer, you should go to the beer bars around the church for better beer and food.

We had ice cream and cake there in the afternoon. It was delicious and reasonably priced. There was free tap water for the kids.

We only went there for local ‘traditional food’ and beer. The seater guy wasn’t kind at all, no hi or nothing only asked what we were looking for. We said ‘we are hungry’. He took us to a table, then a muslim guy dressed as a German barman (with no judgmental attitude) picked up our orders. Food was okay, far from a top rated quality. You could feel that they don’t like their English speaking guests. 2 different English/ American group left the restaurant just the time we were there. They didn’t served them. They called the manager (probably polish woman) but she let them go without sorry. We had to wait 45 minutes for the bill. The German dressed guy wasn’t kind very angry he had to come back to us, even though I put €5 in his palm. He didn’t say thank you or buy… In the heart of the old town, beautiful place… but the attitude is not welcoming at all. We had the meal what was okay so we tried, tick and go - next time somewhere else. I’m bored these places where the waiters are above the guests kinda like boss- employee relations. No thank you. And as I mentioned 2 round of English group left them behind, if I was you who want to visit there would say NO. The building is stunning but that has nothing to go with the people who are working there.

Man, man, man... My friends and I are sitting at this table, and people are constantly making rude comments. This is completely unacceptable! We're 16-17 years old and we're being called little kids. Never again! The service is terrible, everything is terrible...

A strange experience in Regensburg. I'm referring exclusively to the restaurant, and here only to the "service." We've never been served so unfriendly and poorly. In the end, a "compulsory tip" was automatically added to the card payment. They say that's the way it is with certain foreign credit cards. To be fair, we were eventually refunded the "tip" in cash. Another waiter loudly called out to a woman who was leaving the restaurant after apparently being ignored for a long time. Perhaps several people were having a bad day, but we're no longer attracted to this otherwise beautifully located restaurant.

The worst service I've ever encountered.

We've now eaten in the beautiful courtyard twice. We were particularly impressed by the extremely friendly staff. The food was excellent; we had, among other dishes, the delicious roast pork with potato dumplings, various salads, and the minute steak with cheese spaetzle. Tip: the Gröstl should be slightly toasted.

The food was good, with one exception! The service was good too, although the waiter was stressed due to a lack of staff. We understand that, but we don't want to be constantly subjected to this.

Wir wollten mittags für Abends für 2 Personen im Biergarten reservieren, was nicht angenommen wurde, da immer genügend Platz sei. Um 18.00 wurden wir unfreundlich und herablassend offensichtlich vom Chef begrüßt, der uns lediglich den ungedeckten Katzentisch unmittelbar am "wait to be seated " Stand zuwies. Unsere Nachfrage, ob im doch so grossen Biergarten woanders noch Platz sei, wurde brüsk verneint, wir hätten ja jetzt einen Tisch. Wir sind dann gegangen und haben im Roter Hahn bei freundlichstem Service gespeist.

The bathroom is a bit dated, but everything is nice and clean. The rooms are large and decorated in a nostalgic style. The great location behind the cathedral and the proximity to the Danube are another plus. But the best part is the delicious food, the super-tasty beer, and above all, the friendly, attentive staff. Great beer garden, and on Sunday there was even live modern brass music 👍👍👍👍👍👍

The hotel room was comfortably furnished and large enough for a single room. Everything was very clean and tidy. The food in the beer garden was good. The beer, both Bischofshof and Weltenburger Dunkel, were very drinkable and wholesome. The staff were prompt and always friendly. So why only 4 stars? I had a room on the first floor at the end of the corridor and frequently had problems with the room below. It was a nice stay, and I would book at this hotel again.

Although the restaurant was recommended to us by several people, we were very disappointed. The food came very quickly. Often a sign of mass processing and that's how it was. The Schäuferl was not crispy but dry. The breading of the Wiener Schnitzel was soggy and the schnitzel itself was not thin, but wafer-thin. And unlike usual there was only one schnitzel. You could see that the potatoes had been in the water for a long time. Only the dumpling and the sauce from the Schäuferl were good. A little bit for around €70

I had the steak "Graf von Wartenberg" - a sonorous name. Unfortunately, the dish didn't live up to its name. It was small and very dry, it seemed to me that it had been baked for the second time. The side potatoes were also dark brown and over-fried. My companion had a wonderful Schäufele which I was allowed to try. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone. The portion was decent. Why are there such big differences in quality?

We were visiting Regensburg and strolled through the old town until we felt a little hungry. Where do you go? Asian? Nope! Italian? We were just there yesterday! So where then? You also want to try good cuisine and not just any snack bar. In short, as we strolled past, we stopped straight into the Bishop's Court. Weather was sunny at 14 degrees, so great for the beer garden. We were seated by the waiter. Card comes, decided on Schäufele and that was the right choice. We shared the dish because we had a dinner date that evening. But that was totally fine. The Schäufele was succulently braised and had the finest crispy crust. The sauce was divine and combined with the dumpling I could have continued eating until I had a food coma. A light beer was drunk. That gets deductions. This is probably the Jever of the bright ones. Very tart on the palate and the bitterness is very present. After the third sip it works, but it's not to my liking. So for good home cooking in a harmonious atmosphere, the Bischofshof is definitely recommended.

It's a traditional Bavarian restaurant, but you can only choose from the afternoon menu, so I ordered Thai curry, goulash, sausage salad, and beer and water. It's a traditional restaurant, but I didn't really feel the tradition;;;; The waiters are not friendly. I like the atmosphere and the medieval interior design. However, it would be best not to expect good food or service; Oh, the goulash and Thai chicken curry are worth eating.

I only rate the restaurant here and not the hotel We were only there for dinner yesterday afternoon, Firstly everything was going well until we got our food, My friend and I both ordered cheese spaetzle but the waitress brought us normal spaetzle with sauce. When I asked her about it and said I had ordered cheese spaetzle, she assumed that I had said spaetzle and sauce. 1 plus point: she still offered to bring me cheese spaetzle but I didn't want to waste food unnecessarily. 2. I had forgotten my private drink under my chair, I came less than 2 minutes later and was told they had already thrown it in the trash and I'm sorry but in my opinion they could have kept it for a moment so I won't eat there again. Above all, it felt like nothing was going on, so that wouldn't be an excuse.

We spent 4 wonderful days in the hotel and also ate there! (It was very tasty!) Service is great! Everyone was really friendly and accommodating! Our suite was huge and very clean! We slept great in the beds! The only flaw was that there was a light with a motion detector in the bathroom! So at night it was extremely bright not only in the bathroom, but also in the sleeping area and that continued for quite a long time after leaving the bathroom... not so good for me as a light sleeper! The location is perfect too! You can be in the center and near the ships in under 5 minutes!
