Top hotel! Great location, friendly staff!

The hotel is beautifully located in the middle of the old town by the cathedral and the underground car park is right next to the hotel. We received a very friendly welcome and our small suite was very spacious and clean. The toilet and shower were separate and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and always had a smile on their faces. The restaurant in the beautiful old walls is very cozy, even if the portions are a bit small. However, the beer tastes wonderful. All you can say about breakfast is that there was something for every taste and the quality of the sausages was very good. Only the three ladies in the breakfast room were a bit demotivated and we didn't like the fact that the more mature one was touching all the rolls with her hands. There was a different staff there the day before and you could tell they were enjoying their work. The terrace and the beer garden in the inner courtyard invite you to linger and we were served very friendly here too. Everything is within walking distance from this hotel.

I would not publish this review if the bishop's court at the cathedral had commented on the criticism I sent to the house by email. This was probably not seen as necessary. Therefore here is the publication. On March 24th, 2025 I reserved a table for two people at 7:00 p.m. So far so good. My wife and I were under the assumption that your restaurant accepted the Schlemmer Block. We told the waitress this before ordering, but she didn't really know what to do with it. When we asked for the bill, we mentioned to the waitress that the deduction was based on the Schlemmer Block rules. After an internal communication from the waitress, we were informed that your restaurant does not accept a Schlemmer Block, but that this is the Bischofshof Braustuben restaurant. As a foreigner, I wasn't aware of this when I booked the table because I assumed that there was only one restaurant in Regensburg called Bischofshof. OK, my mistake. The fact that the waitress didn't inform us about this before ordering is a mistake on your part. We also ordered Kaiserschmarrn as dessert. This was probably on the hob too long because it tasted like dry biscuits. We also reported this to the waitress, who apologized but charged the full price. My wife and I would have expected a discount here at the latest. You are welcome to return the favor to us by at least refunding us the cost of the Kaiserschmarrn. Kai Uwe and Mariola Schwarz

Nice courtyard for great food and drink

I had hell,pils,wiese bier of Bischofshof. All of them tastes great 👍

We were here for dinner on Saturday and wanted to try out Bavarian cuisine. My wife took a knuckle and I took a Schäufle. Both dishes were excellent. The service was quick and courteous.

Significantly more expensive than the Hofbräuhaus in Munich...

Very nice location, great food and nice staff

Went to the restaurant to warm up and have lunch on Saturday after a long hike in overcast weather and very cold wind. The pork knuckle with dumplings and cabbage was just the thing! Very, very tasty. The young woman who served me was extremely friendly, courteous and very attentive. I felt very comfortable here. I can't judge the hotel because I was only there to eat.

Dieses Jahrhunderte altes Haus liegt im Zentrum von Regensburg direkt neben dem Dom. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und unterschiedlich klassisch möbliert. Eine Tiefgarage direkt neben dem hotelgebäude ist vorhanden. Das Haus verfügt auch über ein bayerisches wirtshaus. Leider ist die Lobby zum längeren Aufenthalt nicht so gut geeignet und es werden dort auch keine Getränke serviert. Insgesamt aber ein empfehlenswertes Haus.

We were only here in the restaurant. Nice atmosphere in the old building and very good and friendly service. The food was very good and plentiful. The prices are very reasonable for what's on offer.

We booked this hotel through a recommendation. Unique location right next to the cathedral with its own indoor area. The inn is rustic and you will always be full here. As is usual in Bavaria, dogs are allowed here too. The rooms are accessible via an arcade. We were here in winter but will come again in summer. Limited parking spaces in the inner courtyard. Absolute recommendation!

A very nice hotel, right in the old town

The staff in the various departments are so nice and helpful. I have even here 2 times in the past 3 years and you meet some of the same faces as many of them work here for many years. The vibe is cosy quite comfortable and you get a sense of coming home. On those sunny warm days you can sit in the courtyard and enjoy a nice drink and some tasty food. I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly

Review refers to the restaurant. I was disappointed because I didn't tolerate the currywurst very well: the barbecue sauce doesn't indicate the extra spiciness. I told the waiter and was rewarded with laughter. I then suffered from severe heartburn and a burning sensation in my throat. The other food was good.

The Bishop's Court at the Cathedral is somewhat hidden in the old town of Regensburg. We discovered it more or less by accident while looking for a place to have lunch, but it was worth it. Delicious food, friendly service, and prices you can still afford.

The review refers only to the restaurant. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. On a Saturday lunchtime it's not that difficult to get seats without a reservation. The most you could complain about is the selection of food. We were looking forward to the special offer with the suckling pig knuckle. But it was already sold out. The rest of the menu is quite manageable and unspectacular with goulash soup, schnitzel, currywurst and roast pork. However, the portions and the quality are absolutely fine, so I can only complain at a high level.

I only visited the inn here, not the hotel. My impressions were good, the portions were filling and the staff was very friendly. I had no problems finding a place for two people on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. My only criticism is the high "tourist prices", which could also have something to do with the location right next to the cathedral, as it's not easy under these circumstances to run a restaurant cost-effectively. All in all, it was a very satisfying experience with potential to be repeated

Schon lange wollten wir dieses Restaurant besuchen und wir haben es nicht bereut. Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr freundlicher und angenehmer Service und tolles Essen. Vor-, Haupt-und Nachspeise waren 100 prozentig unser Geschmack. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We were there for dinner. The food was ok, nothing special. Portions are medium to small. The prices are ok for Regensburg. The food was lukewarm and effortlessly decorated. The beer was very good.

This is one of the most amazing place to be. The rooms are awesome and clean. The view is just so stunning and takes you back to the olden era. The staff is helpful and polite. Biergarten has amazing food and beer. Love the outdoor seating arrangement.

Very tasty Bavarian cuisine with extremely attentive service.

Good location with parking spaces, reception staff and generally very nice, room smelled a bit when we came in and is a bit old-fashioned but everything is very nicely decorated and clean, no water bottle for hotel guests, I don't know that. Breakfast was good, had everything you need and want.

Chic restaurant, very tasty cuisine, delicious desserts

This afternoon we concluded our mother's funeral with a meal in the Bishop's Court. After three very friendly phone calls in advance, we got a place in the Pfarrerstüberl, where we had been guests for many years. Unfortunately, we were only able to choose from the afternoon menu, although that was originally planned differently (bridge with a drink...). All well and good, if it hadn't been for that unspeakable waiter who shouted at us. How did we come to ask for children's chairs (everything was previously discussed with the boss over the phone). It was so much work putting the tables together. What we imagine that we want something special here in the afternoon. Then another mushy one: then you'll just have to wait.. No thanks! We'll never come back!! As long-time regulars, to be treated so badly on such a sad occasion! The food was lukewarm and bland.

Nice ambience, the food, in our case zander, could be improved

Four of us had lunch here based on the recommendation of our excellent walking tour guide when asked what the best place for the local specialty Weisswurst was. We had lunch in the outdoor beer garden, which was fun and relaxing. Excellent Weisswurst and pretzels, and we also enjoyed some delicious Obazda. Some of us also enjoyed the beer. 😉 Great service, too. Highly recommended!

Wir waren dort zu einem Geschäftsessen. Die Bedienungen waren sichtlich mit allem überfordert. Das Essen ist sehr mäßig, die Kartoffeln zum tafelspitz waren kalt, die Sauce war pampig und das Fleisch zu hart. Insgesamt entsteht der Eindruck, dass es sich hier um eine Touristenabzocke handelt.

We were there for dinner at a Christmas party. There was a menu with a selection of variants. 2 different soups (1 x with meat and 1 x vegetarian, 4 different main courses and 2 different desserts). We had beef broth with 3 different ingredients, grilled duck with red cabbage and dumplings and apple fritters with ice cream and curd cheese pancakes. Soup was good, duck was good but the meat was a bit too dry. Apple cakes were good, but the curd pancakes were unfortunately too thick and a bit too firm. The service was very good, fast and friendly 😊.

The location is very central, the building complex is time-honored and the cathedral is in the immediate vicinity. The service was friendly and approachable at any time. Unfortunately our room (116) was a disappointment. Stains on curtains and walls, worn armrests, carpeting generally no longer up to date, the double bed relatively narrow. Very unfortunate. 🫣 Room tip: to the inner courtyard/cathedral side

I'm still waiting for the obazda that I ordered... However, I don't think it's difficult to understand, it's not like I said "Bayerisches Reinheitsgebot", the waiter is not very curious, let's say... No one comes to a restaurant just for soup. Too bad, I'll spend my money elsewhere!

A nice hotel right next to the cathedral, always worth a stay.

Old, typical inn, nice atmosphere. 4 minutes after ordering, the food (Schäufele) arrived. So I was already prepared. Good, crisp crust, 1 potato dumpling, with cabbage and diced ham. Nothing special, but tasty.

We had a wonderful experience while staying here. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We stayed in a Junior Suite and could see the Danube River from our room. Great restaurant, as well as a nice breakfast bar. Everything was very clean. Good location for visiting the Old Town.

There's nothing to say about the location, it's just great. The food, well, there were four of us and we enjoyed a meal that lived up to its reputation and name. The main course came after 3/4 hours, 2 x goose breast, unfortunately not tender, 1 x veal cream, very good, 1 x Deer goulash with 7 ½ pieces of meat and spaetzle - seasoned with sugar???, unfortunately much too sweet, summary - we also went out for dinner a year ago, now we can say, it doesn't have to be that way, have a nice Sunday

Park and live in the middle of the old town, with an extremely friendly and helpful reception. Really upscale Bavarian hotelier style in a lovingly preserved and renovated city ensemble. Down-to-earth breakfast buffet, Bavarian continental, no vegan, great coffee. We'll be back!

Diese Bewertung bezieht sich NUR auf das Restaurant!! Wir waren heute Mittag in dem Restaurant und wollten eine "Spezialität des Hauses" probieren und zwar den "Schäuferlbraten". Ich möchte Voraus schicken dass wir dieses Gericht schon oft in Bayern gegessen haben. Nach einer angemessenen Zeit kam dann das Essen, zuerst das Kraut und dann der Braten mit einem Knödel. Wir konnten das Fleisch nicht essen, es war so trocken das es sich nicht vom Knochen gelöst hat. Es war ungenießbar!! Wir wurden dann gefragt ob es uns geschmeckt hätte, was wir natürlich verneinten, die Bedienung konnte nichts dafür, aber der Koch hätte das sehen müssen, die Bedienung kam dann wieder und entschuldigte sich bei uns. Aus der Küche kam nichts, es wurde auch der volle Preis berechnet, für uns ein "no Go". Wir waren dort das erste Mal und bestimmt auch das letzte Mal, wenn man glaubt das man so mit Touristen umgehen kann, dann bitte schön, bei den Preisen die heutzutage in der Gastronomie aufgerufen werden kann man auch eine adäquate Gegenleistung erwarten.

This review refers ONLY to the restaurant!! We were in the restaurant at lunchtime today and wanted to try a “house specialty”: the “Schäuferlbraten”. I would like to say in advance that we have eaten this dish many times in Bavaria. After a reasonable amount of time the food came, first the cabbage and then the roast with a dumpling. We couldn't eat the meat because it was so dry that it wouldn't come off the bone. It was inedible!! We were then asked if we liked it, which we of course said no, the waitress couldn't help it, but the chef should have seen that, the waitress then came back and apologized to us. Nothing came from the kitchen, the full price was charged, a “no go” for us. We were there for the first time and definitely the last time, if you think you can deal with tourists like that, then go ahead, given the prices in restaurants these days If you are called upon, you can also expect adequate compensation.

Absolute disgrace regarding the prices. In addition, you wait an average of 10 - 15 minutes at the entrance until you are seated.

Beautiful hotel with a brilliant location. Due to the central location and cobblestones, it's a bit noisy with the windows open, which is just how it is in the city. Rooms bright, friendly and clean. Reception very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast buffet

10/04/2024 - 10/06/2024. We were there for the second time and were thrilled again. Everything just fits here. Arrive and your holiday begins at reception. Everyone was very friendly, warm and accommodating. We'll definitely be back. Many thanks to the team and management.

Great place. The goulash soup was delicious, and the beer too. Nice service and, above all, the atmospheric courtyard with a beer garden overlooking the cathedral towers has a nice atmosphere. I recommend it

Nice and cozy restaurant, friendly staff, good food.

We ate in the restaurant and were immediately served by a very young waiter. I ordered the food first and instead of waiting, he corrected me in a tone that was unusual for me...don't you want to order the drinks first. I then ordered the drinks. It was actually unfriendly. Unfortunately the steak was burnt and inedible. The meat was dry and without any h Taste. Goulash soup and salad was quite good. There were fruit flies flying around our wine and food all the time. Not pretty, but whatever. These waiters should take a etiquette course or a course on how to treat guests. Where I paid, he begged for a tip… whether he should add that to it… impudence. I told him that I couldn't eat that food because it was inedible and that I gave it to my dog. With a very insolent tone he told me why I hadn't said... he was still at the table to ask. Boy… you have no manners! Of course I know that anyone can have a bad day... I told him that. He was still rude to me. Also to the cook... if the meat is burnt and black, then redo it. It gave us stomach ache. I hope that management changes these conditions immediately. One more thing... apparently you had the last portion of fried potatoes...?!? Aren't you making this fresh? At 7 p.m. on a Sunday you're out of potatoes? Very funny!!!

Everything was great, delicious food, modern rooms. Only the transparent bathroom door and the motion detector for the light in the bathroom are not so suitable.

Jeg har fine minder om dette hotel… men denne gang blev vi indlogeret i et anneks, over gården: Independence. Op ad en ret skummel trappe til 2. sal - ingen elevator - og hen ad en trist gang til et udmærket værelse men med udsigt til bagsiden af domkirken … og en hel masse meget grimme affaldscontainere. Skøn bred seng, men så bred, at hotellet ikke havde et lagen, der dækkede. Lyd på tv tvunget så langt ned, at man skulle sidde næsten klinet op ad det for at høre, hvad der blev sagt. ‘Hoved’hotellet stadig fint, men annekset trækker gevaldigt ned.

I spent my 60th birthday there last year. The previous menu selection discussion over the phone went well. The lady was very friendly and gave me a lot of advice over the phone. I've been a loyal guest of Bischofshiof for decades! But on my 60th birthday I wasn't even congratulated at breakfast, which I thought was a shame... after all, I had 2 nights and a meal for 20 people. Today my husband is celebrating his 60th in the Bavarian Forest... A bottle of sparkling wine was provided by the hotel at breakfast and was congratulated. Well, that's the subtle difference!

We had very attentive and friendly service!

We were here for dinner. The roast pork with dumplings was lukewarm. The sausages were not freshly grilled. Maybe the Bavarians like lukewarm, reheated food. We North Germans (Saupreussians) don't like that. The service was always trying hard but didn't really have fun at work.

Big praise to the whole team at Bischofshof!!! It doesn't get much better than this! Location is awesome!

A great hotel in an incredibly beautiful and historic building. The location right next to the cathedral is of course very good. Right in the old town. We were lucky to spend the night in a suite. The equipment is very high quality and authentic. There was a good selection for breakfast. Special requests were also fulfilled. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We happened to pass there this afternoon and stopped in to have a little something to eat and drink. A goulash soup and a Linzer slice at its finest. Plus a totally friendly and attentive service. We'd love to go there again.

We felt very comfortable in the Bischofhof. The terrace invites you to linger and the service is friendly. Our dog was also welcome and was immediately provided with a bowl of water and a treat. Even though we only drank coffee, the menu looked promising and the dishes that passed us whetted our appetite.

Best beer garden we've had so far!

The restaurant is located in the city center of Regensburg and is therefore not that easy to reach! The roast pork was good! Unfortunately, the salad dressing had very little taste, so the salad is not recommended! The salad had everything you could want in it, but it doesn't help much if the dressing doesn't fit The staff is very friendly

Tolle Kulisse. Leider nur Biergarten geöffnet. Bedienung überfordert. Niemand zuständig. Wir müssten zum bezahlen den Kellner nachlaufen. Essen auf Bahnhofsnivau.

Unfortunately unfriendly and stressed. The icing on the cake was that when we paid there was neither a thank you for the tip (a last attempt at friendliness - of course rather moderately) nor a single farewell word. Nice location, nice ambience, but if you expect good service, you're wrong here. Quick, quick, quick.

Rooms, reception, restaurant were very good and friendly. However, the staff could have been friendlier at breakfast on Sunday and Monday. On Monday it wasn't possible, you had to get your own coffee and tea and the rolls weren't crispy on any day.

It was very busy but there was no problem with the service: ) they found a very comfortable place for the two of us, it was very tasty, the beer was good and the staff was very polite and friendly, not pushy but very on the ball. Great service. Very friendly. Extremely fast. Comes regularly to ask about requests. Food is also very good. Price performance definitely fits. Highly recommended. And no problem even without a reservation.

The service was bad. Were not seated for ages even though tables were free. Then guests who had arrived after us were assigned a seat. They then gave us their assigned table. But the waiter didn't think that was right. So we waited forever for our order. But the toilets were nice.

Good economy with delicious Dult beer. There was also musical accompaniment during the meal. Gladly again.

Very good and very beautiful site

Very nice beer garden in a great location right next to the cathedral. Six of us were there for dinner. The food was excellent, and so was the beer. ;-) Although all tables were occupied several times, the service worked very well. We were served by Claudia. We would like to give her special praise. Until late at night she did her job with professionalism and always in a friendly manner. We felt very comfortable.

A very nice restaurant in the center of Regensburg. Although it was very busy, the staff tried very hard to accommodate us. The outdoor dining area is cozy and the food was very good. The price/performance ratio is right and the location at the cathedral is also unique.

There are modern rooms directly in the hotel and rooms in an annex on the other side of the guest garden. The price is identical and you have no choice when booking which room you get. Our room in the annex was in vintage style, which you have to like. In the bathroom, the paint was peeling off over the bathtub. No elevator in the annex. A big plus about this room: no noise pollution from the guest garden or the street. Very good, fresh and sufficient breakfast buffet. If there was a price difference to the rooms directly in the hotel, it would be 5 stars because of price/performance

Somehow un-relaxed... Sometimes it reminded me of Fawlty Towers... Beer was Bavarian...

Tyrolean Gröstl from the daily menu was a disaster! Leftovers and very carelessly prepared. Zero points!

Si tratta del ristorante di un albergo adiacente al Duomo di Ratisbona. Nonostante la posizione strategica, è tutt'altro che una trappola per turisti. Abbiamo pranzato all'aperto in un ambiente molto gradevole con i tavoli distanziati, tutti all'ombra, serviti da personale cortese ed efficiente. I piatti erano di cucina tedesca la tutti rivisitati dallo chef e finemente insaporiti. Rapporto qualità prezzo conveniente. Ottima esperienza!
