We went to dinner with our friends. It was a wonderful evening. The food was of a very high quality. The service was excellent – always attentive, with excellent advice on the right drinks to go with the menu (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. The evening will remain in our memories for a long time, and it won't be the last time we're there, even though we don't live around the corner. Thank you!

Today I went further afield to Oberhausen... based on an app's recommendation, I booked a table. Shortly beforehand, I read the reviews here and still went into the evening with a very neutral attitude. First of all: This is a fine dining concept... if you want 3kg of meat on your plate for €20, you should go to the Greek or Yugoslavian restaurant around the corner. Fine dining means that the kitchen makes the most of all the ingredients, presents everything with artistic perfection, and you have to order at least three or more courses to feel full. Hackbarth's has a manageable menu and an extensive wine list. I must expressly praise the service here. You rarely get such high-quality advice as here. The perfect wine with a description and explanation of the matching course. The food was very tasty and high quality. Each course was beautifully presented and a pleasure to look at and eat. For some orders, the kitchen or the waitress even offered tips to improve the experience. I'm very sad about the negative comments here and can only say that this restaurant is worth a visit. The fair drink prices, in particular, encourage visitors to drink more rather than less. 😉 I would like to thank the entire team for a fantastic culinary experience! My only criticism, as expressed on-site: The roast beef tasted a bit gassy or like undercooked lighter fluid, which was a real shame, and the roast beef gravy needed to reduce longer to achieve an even stronger and more intense flavor. All other courses were flawless and perfect!

When you go out to dinner for your 30th birthday, you don't necessarily expect fireworks, but at least more than a culinary shrug. Hackbarth's managed to avoid both: there was neither glamour nor substance. The evening started promisingly: homemade bread, warm, fragrant – so delicious that we briefly thought we were in the right place. Unfortunately, that was already the highlight. The appetizers, burrata with tomato and leaf salad for my partner, grilled anchovies with arugula for me, were neither bad nor special. They seemed like something out of a "Solid but Forgetful" handbook. Then came the main course: Wagyu fillet strips. The promise of buttery tenderness turned into a chewing workout. The fries were just cold fries, the "hunting sauce" a brown accompaniment with no story. Visually? Let's just say... Anyone who's ever been to a beach bar in Mallorca in October will recognize the look – except that the prices here weren't on the beach bar level, but on the fine dining level. 🙃 The service? Friendly, but professionally so relaxed that you almost wondered if they were going to offer a "bucket of sangria for two?" The bottom line: If you pay for premium, you shouldn't get beach bar mediocrity. Our evening was proof that for special occasions, it's better not to rely on pretty menus and melodious words. Unfortunately, it was a unique experience for us – and not in a good way.

Yes, this restaurant is a fine-dining restaurant with a beautiful ambiance both inside and out – I visit it about three times a year. The dishes are generally very finely presented, but given the high prices, they should be perfectly prepared and not served in too small quantities: the redfish fillet for €36 contained a glassy (undercooked) fish fillet (inside), on a rather delicious foam... Along with only two or three thumb-sized "glazed carrots" and three small, cut-out potato and vegetable towers. That's an indirect invitation to eat an appetizer and dessert to feel full. And not everyone is aiming for a three-course meal from the outset. I simply think that restaurants shouldn't overdo it when it comes to unfavorable value for money.

A while ago, I purchased a voucher from Groupon for a 5-course surprise menu for two people, including a bottle of wine. Today we redeemed it. We're absolutely thrilled! The attentive, yet not overly pretentious service, after consulting with the kitchen, recommended a delicious white wine that went perfectly with the menu. The surprise menu was simply fantastic and truly surprising; it couldn't have been better for us. Have you ever taken a jar of salmon caviar home with you? We're thrilled!

Mother's Day Brunch – Big Disappointment Unfortunately, the lovely atmosphere couldn't disguise the numerous shortcomings. It had been promised in advance that there would be a barbecue if the weather was good – but with a bright blue sky and 25 degrees Celsius, the wait for the grill was in vain. Instead, the meat was served only in a lackluster noodle dish, reminiscent of a Chinese restaurant. Two chefs each tried to prepare hot dishes with a pan – a completely inadequate solution that led to long queues. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. Overall, the whole thing seemed poorly planned and far from what one would expect for a special occasion like Mother's Day. Very disappointing.

Birthday Disappointment – Unfortunately, I'm no longer recommending it I've enjoyed visiting this restaurant over the years and have been very satisfied so far. My birthday visit was all the more disappointing: Despite a confirmed reservation and a journey of over an hour by public transport, we were turned away – due to a private party, without any prior notice. Not a personal word from the manager, just an offer of a bottle of wine for a future visit. On such a special day, I would have hoped for more appreciation. At least we were able to spontaneously salvage the evening at another restaurant – where we felt welcome and well looked after. Conclusion: It didn't ruin our birthday, but the disappointment remains. I won't be coming back. Tip: It's best to confirm reservations by phone in advance.

Extremely disappointed. We were there with a birthing party. For all of us, the first time under the new operators. And NO ONE would eat there again. Service good, ambience as you would expect in the price range, but what it's all about - the food was simply bad. Secreteo from Duroc pork: served whole cooked and carved in every other restaurant. Here: simply thrown onto the Caesar's salad in clumps ranging from very small to very large. And I've never eaten a Secreto that couldn't be cut through even with the good cutlery available. Tough would still be flattering - like chewing on a piece of truck tire. The veal roulade: Normally you don't need a knife. Nicely braised and can be portioned out with a fork. And here: Seared in a pan or plate, stuffed, in the oven for a maximum of 30 minutes, as the meat on the inside was still English, and here too it was tough and hard to eat. Never had such a tough roulade before. I'll save the description of the other dishes here. Like the starters, they were mediocre - just average and far too expensive for the quality offered. We always enjoyed staying here under the previous operators. Such food would never have been sold there.

We have been treating ourselves to a nice evening at Hackbarth’s every now and then for many years. We usually choose 3 courses or we sometimes choose a menu with wine accompaniment. We are always enthusiastic about the food. Great quality, interesting combinations and very attractive presentation. Added to this is the friendly and courteous service. This time we bought a voucher for a 5-course meal via Groupon and were there with a couple who were friends of ours. We had a great evening and the food was really fun. We see an evening at Hackbarth’s as more of an experience than just “going out for something to eat”.

Good food, great service. The rice of the sushi was not sticky enough, and the risotto rice was not prepared as should be done for a good risotto. The taste was good, though, and the fish was excellent. Both the Pinot Grigio (white) and Primitivo (red) wines were very good.

Good food but quite expensive, a bit overpriced I would say. 4 courses with wine just under 80 euros... Well, that's the normal price for this class of restaurant, but everyone has to know for themselves whether it's worth it. Tuna tartar on lentil curry, definitely well crafted but no flavor combinations that inspire. Wasabi, tuna, curry notes. They connect discreetly, but not anymore. The duck, cooked sous vide for 48 hours at 56 degrees but actually the tastiest duck I have ever eaten!! Craziness! Buttery and soft with crispy skin, the finish almost has the consistency and flavor profile of liver. Class. Jus is technically satisfactory and combines well the root vegetables with the potato-beetroot cake. The teriyaki foam with the pea soup was also fantastic, layered saltiness and umami meet here. Creamy and earthy pea soup, which was perhaps seasoned with a little coriander? In addition, shrimp in a tempura coating sets pointed accents with its crunch, but the tender meaty garnish does not distract from the main player, the home-style pea. The dessert was tension-free, a kind of Pina Colada on the plate. Not the winner of the menu. The wine with the last course was very interesting. One glass is enough, but it fits perfectly. Fine notes of pineapple, hibiscus and lime zest, only lingers for a short time Palate and says goodbye with floral aromas (chamomile, blackberry, some juniper you think you can taste?? Very interesting). Nice but not outstanding staff, nice location. Worth a visit, for some people probably several.

Wir sind Wiederholungstäter! Ich finde, dass alleine spricht für sich. Wer der Gaumenschmäuse gerne frönt, ist hier genau richtig. Das Azubi- Dinner findet jeden Monat statt & man kann von Glück sprechen, wenn einem eine Reservierung gelingt. Denn so kann auch der kulinarische Liebhaber, mit kleinem Geldbeutel, mal in den exklusiven Genuß dieses Hauses kommen. 45€ für ein 4 Gänge Menü möchte ich damit nicht als billig titulieren. Jeder Fitzel auf dem Teller ist eine Gaumenfreude & zumindest ich, werde immer wieder von Kreationen positiv überrascht, die ich so nicht kannte. 1-2 Mal im Jahr ist inzwischen fast ein MUSS. Wenn es mal exkusiv und wirklich toll sein soll, dann traut euch! Alltäglich kann jeder. In diesem Haus ist man in einer anderen Welt. Mal was besonderes.

Das wohl kulinarisch beste und anspruchsvollste Restaurant Oberhausens. Das Team heterogen, locker, vorallem kompetent, schnell und professionell. Hier wirkt nichts aufgesetzt, sondern Expertise eint die Mannschaft. Nicht umsonst im Guide Michelin als Empfehlung ausgezeichnet. Speisenqualität in dargebotener Menge entspricht dem Preis der absolut akzeptabel ist. Die Weinkarte ist erlesen mit tollen Weinen von Robert Weil bis hin zu super leckeren Trinkweinen von der Mosel für 4,50 Euro pro Glas. Klasse. Insgesamt einen Besuch wert, der nicht jedes Wochenende drin ist, aber zu besonderen Anlässen ein Tipp ist. Viel Erfolg weiterhin auf diesem Niveau. Wir werden das Azubi Menü austesten. Klingt spannend!

Die Karte ist recht überschaubar und wie erwartet kleine Portionen, frisch und hochpreisig, gehobene Küche also. Aber eben auch sehr gut. Vom Nachtisch waren wir nicht ganz überzeugt. Lekker gegeten en gedronken. Als je in Oberhausen bent en wat beter wilt gaan eten een aanrader. Heel anders dan de rest van de restaurants die veel meer op de massa en snelle hap gericht zijn. Mooie veranda met openhaard. Prijs wel ietwat aan de hoge kant.

Feines Restaurant direkt im Gewerbegebiet von Oberhausen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und leckeres Essen. Man kann hier auch Kochkurse besuchen ( welche in kleinen Gruppen stattfinden )und am Wochenende seine Skills verbessern. Ein kleiner Nachteil, für meinen Geschmack, ist die karge Einrichtung. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Wir waren mit guten Freunden dort und hatten ein tollen Abend mit gutem Service, Essen und Getränken in netter Umgebung. Der gute Wein beim Essen brachte viel Spaß und die gute Laune stieg somit wurden die "Absacker" mehr als gedacht. Gerne kommen wir wieder da alles gepasst hat

Waren gestern zum New York Abend da. Es war ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für meine Frau. Die Auszubildenden hatten das Zepter in der Hand. Ein unvergesslicher Abend. Alles wurde mit viel Liebe serviert und es war richtig lecker. Können dies einfach nur weiter empfehlen. Ein Dankeschön an das nette Team von Hackbarth`s. Wir sehen uns wieder !!

Zum wiederholten Mal waren wir in Hackbarths Restaurant, dieses Mal im Rahmen des Kochquintetts. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet, der Service sehr aufmerksam und engagiert. Auch das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Das Restaurant ist immer einen Besuch wert.

I haven't had this much trouble in a long time... So: Yesterday I wanted to eat pizza, I was just really hungry. I found two places near my hotel, but they were just takeaway pizzerias, well-rated, but with questionable plastic chairs. So, despite the awful weather, I ended up at "Elba." Visually, it's exactly how a 1970s Lake Garda vacationer imagines an Italian restaurant. But: Not only was the pizza (prosciutto) simply good, but the vitello tonnato was too. Unfortunately, the wine selection was a letdown; sparkling and sweet wines pretty much dominated. The service – young and probably without any restaurant experience or culinary background – was attentive and eager to learn. So, I went back the next evening. This time I ordered the (only) dry red wine on the menu, bruschetta, and the medium-rare rump steak with different sides (spaghetti A.O.P.). The bruschetta was a bit soggy, but tasted really good. The rump steak, medium-rare, was cooked to perfection, even though I'm sure it's not a common order there. Even though my four stars lower the overall rating, they are very positive, and I'll gladly return. To the owner, I'd like to say: Be more daring! Keep up with the times! The food is truly excellent. A little more contemporary approach would be helpful, perhaps revising the wine list and integrating the service more effectively with the Italian menu and cuisine.
