Top address on Hennesee. Everything was really great, from the furnishings, the food, the friendly service to the clean sanitary facilities. You definitely have to stop here!

Today I was a bit disappointed with the H1 for the first time, at least with the buffet. We arrived at around 10:20 a.m., the location was well filled, but you had to look for a lot at the buffet, sausage, cheese, fruit salad, etc. We didn't see anything being refilled either. Please don't start the negligence. We have always been very satisfied and continue to come to you. Thanks & greetings Jochen

The only cafe with a beautiful view of the lake. Crowded. So we had to wait for a table and a waitress. No one is in a hurry here: neither the clients nor the staff :) The portions are good, the atmosphere is pleasant. Very tasty bread. 😋

I recently went to the H1 Restaurant with my girlfriend and we both treated ourselves to the H1 classic. I chose the burger with surf & turf and my girlfriend chose the cheese & bacon. There was also a portion of fries with aioli. My burger was really great, nice and juicy and tasty. But unfortunately my friend's burger was a little overcooked! The fries were okay, but the aioli tasted more like mayo than real aioli. Despite some minor weaknesses, the evening was great overall. The price-performance ratio is definitely right and the staff was really friendly and on the ball. So, all in all, we can recommend the H1 Restaurant, especially for burger fans. Maybe they should just pay a little more attention to how the burgers are cooked and make the aioli a little spicier.

If the weather is nice on the weekend, be sure to reserve!

We had a delicious meal here, with a wonderful view of Lake Hennesee.

Very tasty breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. The only drawback is that spontaneous visits are not possible; a table must be booked a few weeks in advance as the buffet is very popular Dinner and cocktails also highly recommended. And in summer there is a view of the lake from the terrace. This has a holiday feeling.

Great location, great atmosphere, really bad food. Schnitzel was impossible to gnaw, wet, soaked with old cold frying fat (with black dots on the wet cloth). Lettuce was fresh, but the chicken on the salad had been cooked to death for several weeks, then baked, then in the oven and then in the microwave for another fifteen minutes? You can try a piece with 16 glasses of beer, but a stealth operation may still be necessary.

I give 4 stars because I think it's nonsense that (after several orders and drinks) I wasn't allowed to finish with a draft beer. Should only order a large beer. Very tasty and good selection of drinks and food! Gluten-free bread could also be served with the chicken massala. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated.

What's the point of having the best location if guests aren't allowed to use it? The restaurant is in a prime location directly on Lake Hennesee. The ambience is tasteful and is rounded off by a really beautiful terrace with a view of the lake. Unfortunately, 2/3 of the terrace was cordoned off when we arrived, so we had to sit in when the weather was great. A short time later, the middle part of the terrace was released, so we changed our table. In short, aim for a nice table in the shade. A short time later we were semi-politely informed that the “barrier meant something” which exact barricade? The 3 flower pots that were there acted as a "nice barrier" so we had to move around again. While we were there alone, 4 guests were scared away from this part of the terrace and countless more stood in front of the barrier. Really annoying and incomprehensible that the outdoor area is not used properly and guests are forced to sit inside in the best weather. The salad bowl that we ate inside was delicious, but the Viennese veal schnitzel was far too little for the price as a main meal. The service inside was really fast and friendly, but based on our experience outside we cannot recommend this restaurant and will not come again.

Long waiting times, even for drinks. If it all takes so long, why do I have so many dishes on the menu, then add toppings on top and the PDA can't even record the dishes. Then, from my point of view, fewer dishes, a crisp menu and therefore effective in catering to the guests. We waited almost 70 minutes for 6 simple meals, a good 15 minutes for drinks. The place looks appealing, the location is great, great terrace and very nice interior! Ordering drinks went quite quickly, but we had to wait more than an hour for our food. Although the menu is quite limited, everyone only had burgers and one pasta with shrimp. I think the prices are quite high, the food didn't really blow us away, value for money doesn't really fit! The location and the ambience are what make it there.

It's lovely to sit by the lake. The service is friendly and sometimes not so friendly. It depends on the person. The food is good but expensive. You have to book early, otherwise you won't get a nice seat.

After spending 30 minutes at an uncleared table and being punished three times for disrespecting the service staff despite our friendly hello, we decided to go to another restaurant.

We were invited to a wedding reception in H1 and we really enjoyed it. The location right on the lake was very idyllic and the fact that the wedding party was somewhat shielded from the day-to-day operations made it more family-like. The food and drinks were really good, but I would have liked air conditioning in the ballroom, as with the outside temperature at 34 degrees, most of the time, including the party evening, took place on the terrace and therefore there was less of a party atmosphere. Otherwise, I felt very comfortable there as a guest.

Wir wurden bereits auf dem Parkplatz mehr als unfreundlich empfangen, auf zwei Sprachen☝️ zur Sicherheit das wir es verstehen denke ich mal. Der Plan war die Kinder am See entspannen zu lassen, und wir in Ruhe ein ausgedehntes Essen zu uns nehmen können. Aufgrund des Chefs der mit seine unfreundlichen Art und den Appetit verdorben hat haben wir uns entschlossen was zu trinken, um zu parken und am See zu verweilen und dort was zu essen, am Meating am See! Um sicher zu gehen, ob wir ein Einzelfall sind haben wir uns mal bei Tripadvisor erkundigt. Und unsere Erfahrung ist wohl kein Einzelfall. Ganz im Gegenteil ein roter Faden ist dort sehr deutlich zu erkennen. Lage 👍, Essen i.O., Service, absolute klare Meinung, sehr unfreundlich! Fazit, na dreimaliger Erfahrung, hinsichtlich dem unfreundlichem Service, never ever! Das Personal möchte ich an der Stelle entlasten, wenn es der Chef vorlebt wie arrogant und unhöflich man mit Gästen umgeht, überträgt sich das auf die allgemeine Stimmung und Kultur der Mitarbeiter!

Very child friendly! Big praise!! 2023: Extremely good!!! We were on holiday in Hochsauerland this year and received the recommendation from our hosts. On the day of arrival we had breakfast at H1 and were so impressed that we tried the evening menu the next evening. Expectations were high due to the breakfast buffet! AND THEY WERE EXCEEDED!!! The combination of a wonderful ambience, very warm and attentive service and outstandingly fresh cuisine makes the H1 number 1 in the Hochsauerland for us.

Our experience there was disappointing and annoying. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted extremely unfriendly and dismissive by the reception staff. This set the tone for the rest of the evening. The so-called griller buffet only consisted of sausages and old pieces of chicken breast, which seemed anything but appetizing and inviting. A particularly negative highlight of the evening was our attempt to change tables. A very nice waitress kindly allowed us to leave our place at the end of the terrace and sit closer to the buffet. She just asked us to send our table number to the other side of the terrace. When we kindly told the waiter M. that we had moved from table 200 to the front to be closer to the buffet, he reacted extremely rudely. Without looking at us, he said: "You should go back to where you came from, and that's not possible." This statement was not only dismissive, but also had a xenophobic undertone that hurt us greatly. When we complained about this inappropriate treatment by waiter M., we were expelled and asked to leave the restaurant immediately. We have never experienced this outrageous and disrespectful treatment in any other restaurant. This experience at the H1 restaurant at Hennesee will certainly stop us from visiting this restaurant again. We can only hope that management will reconsider such behavior and ensure respectful and friendly treatment of guests in the future.

**Rezension für H1-Restaurant am Hennesee in Meschede** Vor kurzem hatten wir ein Geschäftsessen im H1-Restaurant am Hennesee in Meschede, an dem zwei Ärzte und zwei Unternehmer teilnahmen. Unsere Erfahrung dort war enttäuschend und ärgerlich. Bereits bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir vom Empfangspersonal äußerst unfreundlich und abweisend empfangen. Dies setzte den Ton für den restlichen Abend. Das sogenannte Grill-Buffet bestand lediglich aus Würstchen und alten Hähnchenbruststücken, die alles andere als appetitlich und einladend wirkten. Ein besonders negativer Höhepunkt des Abends war unser Versuch, den Tisch zu wechseln. Eine sehr nette Kellnerin erlaubte uns freundlich, unseren Platz am Ende der Terrasse zu verlassen und näher am Buffet Platz zu nehmen. Sie bat uns lediglich, unsere Tischnummer auf die andere Seite der Terrasse mitzuteilen. Als wir dem Kellner Manuel freundlich mitteilten, dass wir vom Tisch 200 nach vorne umgesiedelt seien, um näher am Buffet zu sein, reagierte er äußerst unhöflich. Ohne uns anzusehen, sagte er: "Sie sollen dorthin zurück, wo Sie hergekommen sind, und das geht gar nicht." Diese Aussage war nicht nur abweisend, sondern hatte auch einen ausländerfeindlichen Unterton, der uns sehr verletzte. Als wir diese unangemessene Behandlung durch Kellner Manuel beanstandeten, wurde uns ein Platzverweis angekündigt und wir wurden gebeten, das Restaurant sofort zu verlassen. Diese unverschämte und respektlose Behandlung haben wir in keinem anderen Restaurant in den vielen Ländern, die wir bereist haben, erlebt. Dieses Erlebnis im H1-Restaurant am Hennesee wird uns sicherlich davon abhalten, dieses Restaurant erneut zu besuchen. Wir können nur hoffen, dass das Management solche Verhaltensweisen überdenkt und zukünftig für einen respektvollen und freundlichen Umgang mit den Gästen sorgt.

We would have liked to have sat on the terrace in the H1 today in summer temperatures. Unfortunately we were told that only part of the terrace was open and we couldn't sit outside. The reason given to me for this statement was that there were not enough staff on site. What a service! And above all, what is the difference if we had eaten inside or outside given the lack of staff? When we asked where we could sit inside, we were basically asked to leave the restaurant!!!! Yes, we were kicked out! The arrogance that the managing director expressed towards us is blatant!! Hennesee service desert! We're definitely not coming back.

Food was mediocre and relatively expensive. The fries were very good, but the burger was rather hard and the salmon was very, very lemony, so my companion didn't eat it. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and you can have a good conversation because the music isn't too loud. The service was very friendly and always there quickly.

Very well furnished for an open plan restaurant. There wasn't that much going on, so it was pretty quiet. We had an indoor seat by the window overlooking the lake. The service was quick and friendly, the food was excellent.

I've been there for brunch three times now and once again it was very tasty, the atmosphere is very nice, this time we sat on the small bench at the counter and that was the best place (actually we were supposed to sit outside, but that The weather was a bit chilly and so the boss offered us the bench 🥰, very nice really). As already mentioned, the food was very tasty and everything was fresh. I forgot to take photos because I was so looking forward to eating 😁😁😂😂 Since it wasn't the last time, I'll post some later 😌

We went for a walk at Hennesee today and stopped at H1 and found a nice spot outside with a view of the lake. We had the currywurst in a jar with fries and the tarte flambée. Both tasted excellent, freshly prepared and very attractively presented. The staff was very nice and attentive. We enjoyed it very much.

Both Masala Vegan and the vegan burger tasted great. Freshly prepared, great consistency and texture, seasoned appropriately. (The homemade iced tea was strange. Like water with fruit and sugar. Not sure if there was a mixup. Forgot to ask.)

With the great weather, there was no better location for me in a wheelchair than the H1 to refresh and chill out. Because of its generous accessibility and a luxurious toilet facility for wheelchair users, the H1 has been a constant destination since it opened.

Nice ambience, great location and good food. However, the cost of a portion of curry sauce (according to the menu is cream sauce) €4.50 is outrageous, as a side dish to the portion of fries.

Coffee and cake were very tasty, unfortunately the staff was more than unfriendly, which has little to do with hospitality.

Unfortunately very disappointing! Waited 30 minutes to order my drink - there were 5 waiters behind the cash register. Then 2/4 of the food was forgotten and no more drinks were asked. Several attempts to get attention by waving were ignored. (There wasn't much going on!) The boss doesn't seem to have been there. The food was great!

Food good, location very good, service bad. We arrived at 6:50 p.m. and would have liked to have something to eat and drink on the outside terrace. Apparently there was no free table outside. When we left the restaurant around 7:55 p.m., there were still 7 (!!) tables available on the terrace and unused while we were there. Apparently not all guests are treated equally.

We went to this restaurant for breakfast. In itself a nice location with a nice buffet and a lot of choice but unfortunately the staff is not attentive. We were a large group, we were not welcomed and initially walked around the guest room in confusion until we found a contact person. After we were seated our table was ignored. It was obviously a birthday being celebrated, which was also mentioned when making the reservation, and no employee had the idea to congratulate their guest. Coffee pots were not refilled, nor were rolls. Only when we ourselves ran forward with the cans and asked for it. Plates were stacked on the table. Only when the buffet was dismantled were our plates removed from the table. At this price you have different expectations. The highlight was when paying. Unfortunately one person was unable to attend the same morning due to illness. This person was requested to be paid anyway due to the cancellation policy. Absolutely ridiculous and cheeky at a buffet, especially when it's about one person and you can't foresee something like that 😉 This meant that I didn't have to tip. Basically a nice restaurant but the treatment of customers is very bad. Unfortunately, the visit to H1 didn't make my birthday any better, so a repeat visit is out of the question.

First of all, the positive. The breakfast buffet was always well stocked and there was a lot of choice. The rooms are beautifully furnished with lots of natural light and a beautiful view of Lake Hennesee. Unfortunately the staff was inattentive and kept waiting. Plates were already stacked at the edge of the table and the coffee pot was almost always empty. What shocked me the most was the bill. We made reservations for 11 people, unfortunately one person was no longer able to take part due to health reasons, but they still insisted on paying for the number of people reserved because they had bought and cooked especially for us. It was an open buffet where guests could arrive at any second. This approach is difficult for me to understand, which is why I will most likely not decide to visit H1 again. Extremely hot fries and a burnt - but cold - schnitzel tell me that the kitchen doesn't have the cooking times and processes under control. And that with around 50% capacity of the guest room. Unfortunately not the first time. The service also deliberately ignores you and you have to wait a long time for the bill. Location 1a, kitchen and service still have a lot of development potential to be developed.

The food was really very good but the waiting time from ordering to the time the food is served is really enormous, you should take your time. If you just want to eat cake it's much quicker. The service staff are really very nice.

Were there 5 years ago. It's a shame that the beautiful lakeside terrace wasn't open yet.

Delicious food at the Hennesee. Quite pricey.

Between green treetops and the well-kept banks of Lake Hennessee, H1 offers a variety of enjoyment and a cozy atmosphere. During the last visit my friend had her dog with her. We got a seat in the entrance area, which was perfectly fine. However, the service staff kept asking us the same questions every 10 minutes. Unfortunately, despite several tips, we were unable to avoid this. As a result, we couldn't talk as planned. You can take a relaxing walk outside after a delicious meal or before a delicious treat.

The location seems quite nice. However, our reception was not friendly. Even though we wanted to have a drink and maybe a snack, we were simply directed out of the restaurant area to other rooms because everything was supposedly reserved and there were still more than enough seats available. In our opinion, those who only want to drink drinks are not particularly welcome. We decided to leave after this unprofessional reception. I recommend that the owner train his employees in this regard.

Our favorite restaurant. Still, even though we haven't lived in Meschede for 1.5 years. Always worth a visit. ❤️ Addendum, May 2024: Still a favorite restaurant, now with two more family members. Great children's corner, great service and great food. And now with a pirate playground around the corner. Unfortunately we'll have to come back... :)

Absolutely not recommended! The atmosphere is nice, but we have never experienced such unfriendly staff. At that price you would at least expect delicious food, but that didn't work either. The burger buns taste like cardboard. It's absolutely not worth it. We are disappointed.

Had specially reserved a table by the window. When we arrived we were offered a table in a corner with no natural light. When the reservation was referred to, the operator replied that he decides where who can sit and that we should accept this seat or leave. Once and never again.

I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately was extremely disappointed. We kindly expressed a space concern in advance. This was not addressed in any way on site. Instead, we were immediately informed that we were being offered a service and that it was up to us to accept it - or leave the restaurant. It seemed as if the host was the king here and the guests were just tolerated. I have never experienced such a condescending and inflexible attitude in a restaurant. Not recommended under any circumstances.

Unfortunately we are very disappointed with the breakfast buffet. Arrived at 10:45am. We're actually happy with very little, but of course we had corresponding expectations. Our expectations were badly disappointed. We walked into an open plan restaurant with a lot of noise and were completely ignored by the staff. When we finally got assigned a table, we sat in the farthest corner of the buffet room, with no view of the lake. The terrace was (understandably) closed because of the weather, the signs in capital letters stuck on the door read "Peter is to blame!..." but unprofessionally. The service was beyond terrible, there were always dirty dishes on the table, and the service staff didn't really care about us. When I asked if I could get a new roll because I had dropped it, I was told "we were mopping this morning" (didn't come across as a joke..) and only after hesitation did he get a new one, the basket in which it was This was enough for me, it looked stained and used, as if it had been removed from the table. The waiter who picked us up (for which we had to go to the counter because we were ignored for a long time) didn't even ask if we were happy and didn't make eye contact when saying goodbye. The chef swiped his finger under his nose at the buffet and turned his nose up, right next to me. The buffet was cleared at 12.05pm on Sundays, although according to the website it was until 12.30pm on Sundays. Rolls were sticky and inedible. We were also disappointed by the size of the buffet at a price of almost €30 per person. Some of the dishes on offer were really low quality/cheap and also cheesy in terms of convenience, very disappointing for the high quality impression that the restaurant wants to make. The warm fish in the chaving dish was actually just bones. There were hardly any signs on the buffet. Extremely hot mustard that looked like sweet mustard (later the service said it was probably the "flame devil") was not signposted, still had a stomach ache hours later. The mustard's website even explicitly states a warning for people with heart problems. Absolutely negligent!! Parking lot was also full. Positive: - The machine with freshly squeezed orange juice, but the glass was completely sticky from the juice splashes. - Cleanliness In any case, you will never see us again and we advise everyone against it.

Simply a great location. We stopped by the H1 in the evening and were able to sit outside on the large terrace. The food was very tasty and the service was simply top!

Called in advance and asked about free tables on the terrace! We were told that nothing would be reserved today & there was still enough free (even for 6 people)! 5 minutes later we all get there: - not a single free parking space - all tables occupied - all remaining free tables were already reserved (even though there was no reservation!?) Conclusion: NEVER AGAIN !

A really great restaurant with a beautiful view, but we weren't served and then left the restaurant after 20 minutes, which was a real shame.
