H1 am See in Meschede

A very nice restaurant with a beautiful view and terrace. The service wasn't particularly "good" in our case, as they made us wait forever for our orders to be taken. Drinks arrived fairly promptly, but they didn't ask if we wanted to order something to eat, which led to a long wait. Four waiters crowded around the counter and distributed drinks to other tables. The food was actually quite good. The table was reserved in advance, so there was no wait.

Wanted to eat lunch..placed an order..went in..because of massive wasps outside..told them..ok..waited inside again..half an hour..then the question whether I had already voted..I left..never again

All in all, an absolute recommendation for the breakfast buffet! We were there for Mother's Day. Even though it was fully booked and there was a wedding going on until the night before, the staff was absolutely friendly and attentive. There was a really good selection of food and drinks too. It should also be emphasized that coffee (in a pot at the table), tea and juices were included at a price of €28.50. The rolls were fresh and on the tables and there was definitely something for everyone when it came to the food. From the classics such as cold cuts and various scrambled eggs to delicious salads (pasta salad was unfortunately more than al dente but that's really just a small drawback and can happen sometimes) and a fantastic fish platter, antipasti and much more. The finale is the delicious desserts, cakes, etc. The atmosphere is wonderful too. You can really have a good time there with a view of the Hennesee. (The toilets were also so clean) We'd love to come back! So kudos to the crew! Please keep it up and please keep the quality at this level.

The breakfast buffet is just great. Everything your heart desires. Freshly squeezed orange juice, other great juices, water with lime, ginger etc., lots of dried fruit, yoghurt, muesli, olives, tomatoes, mozzarella, various types of cheese and sausage, small cakes, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, various jams, Nutella etc. etc. Coffee as much as you want, of course also tea or milk, rolls, bread. It's really just all there. I was there during the week (€19.50) and also on Saturday. The buffet is €4 more expensive, but is also expanded. And it was very crowded. If you can, you should go there on weekdays. Be sure to book a table. Added to this is the extremely friendly staff and the great view of Lake Hennesee. Go there and enjoy. By the way, there is an asparagus buffet every Tuesday in June (€29.90).

Had ice cream in H1 today. Unfortunately, the soft ice cream for €10 is a bad joke. A tiny waffle with a bit of soft ice cream on a strip of Nutella smeared very thinly on the plate. Unfortunately, this is disproportionate. The staff is nice and the place is very well maintained.

The H1 shop at Hennesee in Meschede is really a little gem! The location right on the lake is fantastic and invites you to linger. I was thrilled by the friendly atmosphere and the appealing offerings. An absolute must for anyone visiting Hennesee!

I've only been there for breakfast so far but it's always very, very nice. It's a really beautiful spot, very stylishly furnished and very nice staff. It is highly recommended.

The place is great, great location, food is tasty and courteous service. However, when I tried to make a reservation, they said there were no reservations on May 1st!!!! Then we arrived and everything was reserved. Instead of saying OK came across wrong no... Then you'd better say you're glad you're alive... The customer is king is different.

Das Essen war wirklich hervorragend – geschmacklich top und schön angerichtet. Leider ließ der Service zu wünschen übrig: Schon um 20:30 Uhr wurde die letzte Getränkerunde angekündigt, um 21:30 Uhr wurde das Licht so stark gedimmt, dass man sich wie rausgeworfen fühlte. Auf Nachfrage hieß es nur: „Wir haben so lange auf, wie es sich lohnt – und drei Tische lohnen sich nicht mehr.“ Im Internet steht allerdings, dass bis 23 Uhr geöffnet ist. Dabei sollte es ein gemütlicher Abend mit Freunden aus der alten Heimat werden – wir sind extra aus Oldenburg ins Sauerland gekommen. Sehr schade, dass einem da so deutlich das Gefühl gegeben wird, unerwünscht zu sein. Trotz tollem Essen bleibt so leider ein bitterer Beigeschmack.

Wir waren gestern Abend im H1 zum Essen. Bereits im Vorfeld sind uns schlechte Erfahrungen zugetragen worden, allerdings sind wir früher schon öfter hier gewesen und waren immer zufrieden. Wir konnten am Vorabend noch einen Tisch reservieren, wunderbar. Um 19 Uhr haben wir das Lokal betreten. Es war, bis auf ein zwei Tische alles belegt. Getränke kamen zügig und waren auch lecker. Das essen war okay, allerdings stimmt hier das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Wer so an der Preisschraube dreht, der muss eben auch an der Qualität zulegen. Die Aioli war nicht zu übertreffen, das muss man auf jeden Fall erwähnen. Dann fing das Drama an. Gegen 20 Uhr kam eine Kellnerin und fragte nach Heißgetränken, da jetzt die Kaffeemaschine ausgeschaltet würde. Es wunderte uns zwar, aber okay, wir waren ja nicht zum Kaffee trinken da. Als dann aber eine halbe Stunde später verkündet wurde, dass nun die letzte Getränkerunde serviert würde, waren wir irritiert, war doch das Lokal eigentlich bis 23 Uhr geöffnet. Es vergingen ein paar Minuten, da fing das Personal an, lautstark aufzuräumen, Teller und Geschirr zu einem Konzert erklingen zu lassen und vergraulten damit sämtliche Gäste, die bis dato den Raum noch gut füllten. Offenbar hatten es alle sehr eilig, für das scheinbar nächste Frühstücksgeschäft einzudecken. Um kurz vor 21 Uhr wurden dann zum ersten Mal die Lichter gedimmt, um ein Gefühl des Aufbruchs zu vermitteln. Als dann eine viertel Stunde später das Licht nochmals gedimmt wurde, sind wir dann aufgestanden, bevor wir nachher im dunkeln sitzen. An der Kasse hat uns dann erst mal niemand beachtet, erst auf Rufen kam dann doch jemand und hat abgerechnet. Auf meine freundliche Nachfrage, ob das Lokal nicht bis 23 Uhr geöffnet habe, kam dann eine sehr unfreundliche Ansage vom Thekenpersonal, sie hätten " so lange geöffnet, wie es sich lohnt", und es hätte sich sicher gelohnt, wenn man nicht vorher alle Gäste vergrault hätte. Das hat sich für mich bestätigt, als der Bedienung im Anschluss ein Satz über die Lippen kam : " Es ist Ostern und wir wollen alle nach Hause". Kann man machen. Sollte man aber nicht. Liebes H1, es gibt so eine Vielzahl an guten Restaurants im Sauerland. Am Ende des Tages geht es aber doch nicht nur um ein gutes Essen, sondern darum, ob sich Gäste willkommen und wohl fühlen und eine gute Zeit verbringen. Denn für nicht weniger als dieses sind Gäste bereit zu bezahlen. Hier stimmt Preis- Leistung nicht. Hier stimmt auch der Service nicht. Einen Stern für die Aussicht, und einen für die Aioli, besser kann man leider nicht bewerten. Super schade, denn es könnte so schön sein, aber wir kommen bestimmt nicht mehr wieder.

Durchwachsen. Hat uns nicht ganz überzeugt. Eins vor weg, das Essen war lecker aber nichts besonderes. Nichts desto trotz waren wir von dem Brotkorb sehr überzeugt, mit dem frischen Körnerbrot. Dies war sehr lecker. Aber, der Preis war nicht angemessen. U.a. ein kleines Schnitzel und dann soll man für Beilagen extra zahlen. Das kenne ich anders. Fazit, es war lecker und für den Moment waren wir gesättigt aber auch nicht mehr. Die Portionsgrösse war nicht angemessen. Das Personal war aber sehr nett und zuvorkommend das möchte ich noch erwähnen.

Perfect for a hiking stop. Fairly new, spacious, with motivated staff and delicious food and drinks—what more could you want?

I wanted to have a nice bingo evening at H1 with my friends, but unfortunately everything turned out differently 😕 The staff forgot to mark when we made the reservation that we wanted to take part in the bingo and that's why our table was in the hallway (of course you won't notice anything). An employee wanted to clarify it for us, but André Wiese started drawing the first numbers and we were out for the first round (he didn't care at all, it's a shame that a boss behaves like that and not all of the guests are important to him). They could have offered us a small table to squeeze in to eat, but we declined. Even though we were really disappointed, we stayed and ate something. The food was delicious as always, but this time we had to wait a really long time for our food and then an employee wanted to clear my friend's plate even though she was still eating (not possible). We mentioned that they could buy us a round of schnapps as a "small compensation", but they didn't take that into consideration. I've never left there so disappointed and I won't be going there again anytime soon.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at the H1 in Meschede. When we arrived we politely asked where we could sit. We were told we could sit anywhere except at reserved tables. So we decided on a quieter spot a little further back. We sat there for 30 minutes without anyone paying attention to us - even though the staff saw us several times. It wasn't until a guest who arrived clearly after us was served that I realized we were clearly being ignored. So I went to the front and asked why we weren't being served. The answer: “The back is closed.” However, that was the first time anyone had said that to me - even though I had previously been explicitly allowed to sit anywhere. When I asked why they didn't just tell us that, I only got an unfriendly answer: "I don't want to say." I have rarely experienced such a disrespectful and negligent type of service. A simple “Please sit further forward” would have solved the problem immediately. Instead we were ignored and only rudely brushed off when we asked. Conclusion: ❌ Communication with guests: Poor ❌ Friendliness: Not available ❌ Service orientation: Not given Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant - if you value good service, you should look for an alternative.

My mother and I wanted to have a drink and a bite to eat after a walk today. A waitress slammed our cards onto the table with the words "Kitchen only from 12. It's almost like that.". Meanwhile, another waiter pointed out to two women next to us that they should not sit at a table until it had been cleared, whereupon the two of them sat down at the still full table anyway. It is completely understandable that this is annoying from the staff's point of view. However, they were then verbally attacked by three waiters independently of one another for several minutes. One lady's attempts to explain and apologize that the two of them needed a place by the window with light because the other, older lady could hardly see anything were not even noticed. I work in the catering industry myself and I really know how stressful it can be when requests, especially those that concern the service process, are simply ignored, but that can be pointed out politely (!!!). I have never experienced being attacked by three people and being accused of "disrespect" and "greed on the part of the guest", neither as a guest nor as a waitress. The two ladies then got up and left, receiving a contemptuous “Have a nice day!” thrown behind. When one of the two waiters behind us started complaining loudly to himself when they had already left that such people "would get rid of themselves at some point" we also left without ordering anything. It takes a lot to destroy the ambience and the beautiful location, but if you feel so uncomfortable even as an unaffected guest, then something has definitely gone wrong. It's a shame, hopefully this will be dealt with internally. We've always enjoyed being there 😬

A window seat became available and the departing guests pointed out this table that suited us well. The dishes that were still there didn't bother us. The service staff very rudely pointed out to us that it was inappropriate to sit at a table that had not been prepared. The next force also made it clear to us how little they could understand our choice of place. We made it clear several times that the table could be re-set in peace and quiet. Now the third waiter came and said that he couldn't understand how anyone could sit at a table that hadn't been cleaned, it was "greedy". We then left the restaurant, as did the guests at the next table who were unknown to us. How can you behave so unkindly towards a visually impaired senior citizen?

It was so good that we didn't want to leave. So delicious and such a great view. The staff was very attentive and polite. I can only recommend it.

What was shocking, however, was the behavior of the waitress: a totally degrading look and an arrogant and very snooty “You ordered a currywurst?” was replied. We just wanted to ask how long the food would take. It's a shame that this visit had to end like this. Blonde hair, different shirt than the others. Hopefully not a higher position I can say! Perhaps training on correct behavior in the catering industry would be appropriate. I've already told another very nice waitress. Still a beautiful restaurant with a great ambience. LG

We visited the cafe/restaurant for a quick break during a long walk. Particularly noteworthy is the extremely friendly and warm service. The coffee was aromatic and good. The cakes made a visually appealing impression, but the taste was not convincing - they looked like frozen goods and tasted artificial. Unfortunately, that was disappointing, especially in the otherwise very nice atmosphere.

Wir waren schön öfter im H1, aber das gestern hat dem ganzen jetzt die Krone aufgesetzt. Abendessen war eine Katastrophe. Die Bedienung fragte uns bei Ankunft, ob wir kurz warten, bevor sie uns zu Tisch bringt. Sie sagte, dann könne sie sofort die Getränke für die anderen Gäste mitnehmen und müsse nicht 2x laufen. Bis wir die Karte bekamen, dauerte es etwas. Diese wurde auf den Tisch geworfen, statt gelegt. Eine zweite Karte kam erst später. Die Frage nach dem hausgemachten Eistee wurde so schnell runtergerasselt, dass man sich nichts merken konnte. Dem Nachbartisch wurde kurz drauf von der gleichen Bedienung nur noch das Gerät hingehalten. Die durften selber lesen. Die Worte der Bedienung waren "hier lesen Sie selbst- es sind so viele". Unglaublich. Diese Dame gehört nicht in den Service. Naja... Und das Essen... Burgerbrötchen wie Gummi, Fleischpatty trocken und inzwischen alles übertrieben teuer, wenn man sich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis betrachtet. Es gibt im Umkreis zweifellos bessere Restaurants, die man besuchen kann. Für uns war's das.

We came here for the first time for a delicious coffee and waffles. It was freshly prepared and very tasty. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. The team was very friendly and immediately there. Cozy atmosphere, food ok but rather expensive. What really annoyed us was that we were essentially thrown out of the restaurant shortly after 9 p.m. on a Friday evening (we were there in November). Shortly before 9 p.m. a waitress came and asked if we wanted something to drink because the bar was closing now?!? On a Friday evening?!?!? And we weren't the only ones in the restaurant. The internet says opening times until 11 p.m., but I don't understand it. Will definitely not visit the restaurant in the evening again. Very unfortunate.

Not only did the H1 disappoint our expectations, it also made us feel unwanted. A restaurant that treats its guests like this doesn't deserve to be visited.

We had reserved a table for 6 people. Throughout the afternoon we ordered several drinks and a piece of cake each. Since we come from further away, we have planned dinner at H1. Unfortunately, our table was re-reserved from 6 p.m. without prior agreement, which is why we were no longer able to order food. When asked, they told us that we “spent less than €100” (in two hours) and therefore couldn’t stay. Unfortunately we were not served for the last half hour of our stay and our empty glasses and attempts to draw attention to us were ignored. The communication was very condescending and unprofessional. The focus is on revenue and not on guest satisfaction.

Unfassbar! Für die nette Dame an der Bar tut mir diese Bewertung leid, aber leider überwiegt das negative. Personal , so wie ich weiß die Schwester des Geschäftsführers, absolut unmöglich. Erstens wurden wir ungefragt geduzt, zweites behandelt als sein wir unwillkommen und zusätzlich Arbeit . Auf die Frage nach einem Löffel für Müsli kam die Antwort: nimm deinen Kaffee Löffel , als sie dann zum Tisch kam , den Löffel von meiner Untertasse nahm und mir den zeigte , war ich absolut sprachlos. Auf die Frage nach weiterem Kaffee bekamen wir den Rest des Nachbarn Tisches. Um 11:15 wurde das Buffet abgebaut, obwohl bis 12 Frühstück angeboten wird. Diese Frau gehört absolut nicht in Gäste Kontakt! Einmal und niemals wieder

Noch im Gehen jemand vom Personal darauf angesprochen. Der gab sich sowas von arrogant, das habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Tja H1 - dann eben nicht!!!

Nach 15-20 min Wartezeit am Tisch, in der Nähe der Kuchentheke, war immer noch keine Servicekraft bei uns, um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Das H1 war mittelmäßig besucht; 4 Mitarbeiter hielten einen Plausch und fühlten sich jedesmal gestört, wenn Gäste bezahlen wollten bzw. zur Theke kamen, um endlich bezahlen zu können, da niemand aus dem Service auf Ihre Handzeichen reagierte. Wir wohnen in der Nähe und waren schon einige Male im H1. Der mittelmäßige Service ist jetzt einfach nur noch schlecht. Als wir dann, ohne zu bestellen zum Ausgang gingen und einen dort verweilenden Mitarbeiter auf den fehlenden Service ansprachen, meinte er mit einem verweisenden Blick auf den Ausgang: ... ist dann eben so gewesen. Wo wir uns denn versteckt hätten .... unglaublich. Leider haben diese Erfahrung mit dem schlechten Service im H1 am Hennesee schon viele Bekannte gemacht. Sehr schade für eine doch sehr gut gelegene heimische Lokation.

Where we would have hidden.... unbelievable. Unfortunately, many friends have already had this experience with the poor service at the H1 on Hennesee. It's a shame for a very well located local location.

Very nicely decorated restaurant, which is also honored by the guests with seat reservations and spontaneous guest visits. Plenty + free parking. Too bad, In winter there is nothing to see from Hennesee.

Everything is great, but also proud prices.

Went there for breakfast on Saturday with 3 adults and 2 small children and it was really good! Service that is so kind and, above all, really friendly to the two kids is something you're not used to these days. The food was very tasty with a great selection including antipasti, baked goods, various egg variations, etc. We'd love to come back! Thank you very much for the great morning!!

The food is ok, but a lot more expensive than other similarly nice cafes on the lake.

This was our first time in the H1. We received a very friendly welcome. The service was very attentive and quick. We all really enjoyed the food we ordered. Overall a great evening!!! Thank you.

Fantastic view, acoustics a bit too loud for me, highly recommended

First of all: we had reserved a table for 6 p.m. because we wanted to spend a nice evening together with food, drinks, dessert and everything that goes with it. Opening hours until 10 p.m. In the first hour we were served and looked after quickly and friendly. The food and drinks were truly SENSATIONAL! There is no other way to describe it. In order to order the second cocktail, we had to wave the waitress over. We would have liked to order dessert, but no one came to our table. We noticed how other guests without a reservation were turned away and told that it would close soon. It wasn't even 8 p.m. We were a bit confused because according to the internet it would be open until 10 p.m. We called to the counter to see if we could order something else. They said no. No coffee or even a scoop of ice cream. I asked until when it would be open. The employee then fussed uncertainly. People were cleaning around us and putting up chairs - it wasn't yet 8:30 p.m. The situation felt very uncomfortable for us. Shortly afterwards someone came to our table and asked if we could cash in. We left the restaurant before 9 p.m. because we were essentially complimented. Despite the sensational food, the evening ended rather disappointingly. Because this impression was the one that lasted, I unfortunately can't give it more than 3 stars. I have worked with clients for a long time myself. I can understand that it's not worth keeping the entire business running for just a few guests. It would have been desirable to come to our table again, with the information that the kitchen was closing, whether we wanted to order anything else, and then at least offer us dessert including a final drink. And then as managing director I have to hold out a little longer either alone or with an employee. I can then send the rest of the team home to save costs. In any case, I have the expectation that as a guest, with official opening hours until 10 p.m., I will not be kicked out before 9 p.m. and that I will be made to feel no longer wanted in the hour beforehand... Too bad! Had potential...

Unfortunately quite disappointed with the price-performance ratio...90 cents extra for plant-based milk is absolutely cheeky!! The non-alcoholic cocktail should also cost exactly the same as the one with alcohol - but there may be something wrong with the price calculation. A reason for me not to go there anymore. SHAME!

Coffee is tasty, fast service, huge pieces of cake.

We went to H1 for breakfast. The ambience was nice, the breakfast wasn't exactly cheap, the selection was good, but some components could be improved. The scrambled eggs were more like porridge, the first batch of bacon was nice and crispy, but the one that followed only saw the pan for a very short time and was therefore soggy. We didn't get to know the contents of a warming container because it was always empty. A few other things weren't refilled either. The juice bar was great!

Nice location and nice decor. The food is good, but very expensive. However, the fact that a cappuccino costs €5.10 or even €6 with oat milk is an absolute disgrace! If it at least tasted good... What a shame!

I can't say much about the food, I only ate fries, they were very tasty. The atmosphere is very appealing. You pay for the location on the lake. So not exactly cheap...

Fast service and the food came quickly.

Nice location and very popular considering the amount of people and limited seating if you don't have a reservation. Nice restaurant and you feel completely on holiday. Cappuccino very expensive, so go for the espresso macchiato. For Dutch people, this is the same as the Dutch cappuccino and is a lot cheaper.

One of the best breakfast buffets I've ever seen. Coffee etc. are included in the price. Huge selection of dishes, rolls, croissants, bacon, eggs, scrambled eggs, pizza, desserts, cold cuts, fruit juices, cakes, yoghurts, muesli, to name just a few. Everything was very tasty and with a view of the lake. Highly recommended.

We went to H1 to have a coffee and a cappuccino. Both normal sizes!!! We paid 10 euros (!!!!!) for the TWO drinks. This is so disproportionate...!!! That left us speechless! The location itself is really great!!! The location is excellent! The employees are always very friendly! So for us the prices are a real reason not to go to the H1 anymore. It's certainly not easy for the operators of such a location these days, as everything is becoming more expensive. But a coffee and a cappuccino shouldn't be more expensive than at a motorway service station!!! Maybe the menu could be “revamped” at this point?!

Great location with a direct view of Lake Hennesee. Food good and price OK. Service friendly and atmosphere pleasant. Since it is usually quite full, a reservation is recommended.

We took a walk around the Hennesee reservoir and made a lunch stop at H1 am See. We were allowed to sit in the cozy entrance area with our dog. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant itself. Super friendly and very hospitable employees provided us with delicious drinks and food. This restaurant is absolutely great and definitely worth a stop and/or a pleasant evening.

Great place with really tasty food. The salads are particularly excellent. But you should reserve in advance.

Sehr schöne Location am See. Wir wurden freundlich und schnell bedient. Der Service war immer auf Zack, die Gläser blieben nicht lange leer und das bei ausgebuchtem Lokal. Die Speisen waren sehr lecker, lediglich das Salatdressing war etwas essiglastig. Wir haben uns echt wohl gefühlt.

We stopped at H1 on a hike. It is incomprehensible why, when the weather is great on the weekend, the terrace is only half opened and visitors have to sit inside.
