We ate a chocolate cake and drank a latte macchiato there. Really great shop, very cozy interior, very friendly service. Chocolate cake was absolutely delicious. Will definitely go again

My wife and I were there for breakfast. We were there for the first time. The staff was very nice and the food was really tasty. It's a nice little restaurant, but the noise level takes some getting used to due to the small space and the high number of customers.

Very tasty food, also good vegan selection. Cozy and lovingly furnished. If you need relaxation after an adventure (surrounding area), you will find a small oasis in the middle of the Nordmarkt here;)

Short version: My wife and I were there for breakfast on Friday and felt completely comfortable. And now in detail: First, the two less positive points that are irrelevant to us but worth mentioning: On Friday there is a weekly market on the market square and therefore the parking situation was quite tense. But we still found a parking space nearby. This is simply something to keep in mind. The surrounding area is in clear need of renovation and certainly doesn't invite everyone to linger. You can tell that it is not the wealthiest part of a big city. Now the positive points that clearly outweigh the previous ones: As soon as we entered the bistro, the atmosphere was very pleasant and invited us to linger. The welcome was warm, the entire service during our visit was friendly, professional and prompt. In my opinion, there is something for every taste on both the breakfast menu and the regular menu. After thinking about it for a while, I decided on a full English breakfast. Fortunately, this was prepared in a more continental style and therefore considerably less greasy than I know from the islands. Special requests for drinks were also no problem and we were able to enjoy an all-round successful morning there. According to the staff, it gets busy at times, so reservations are recommended if possible. If you are there on Tuesday or Friday and have a little more time, you can get to know a weekly market around the square, which I would describe as interesting to see. We will certainly come back.

The breakfast there was really very tasty and, in my opinion, the price was right. Unfortunately, I found it very crowded inside and therefore a bit too loud and at some point too warm for me personally. This made the atmosphere a little less pleasant and you didn't necessarily want to sit inside for longer. It's much more pleasant outside in summer. But otherwise I like it there, the service staff is friendly and as I said, the food tastes very good ☺️

On the occasion of a voucher gift from my dear teammates and colleagues, we were guests at Café Grüner Salon today. We ordered the dishes and drinks shown in the pictures and I can say: it was a pleasure! Not only was the presentation appealing, we were also impressed by the taste. The drinks and food came quickly and the service was attentive and friendly. I would particularly like to highlight the charming lady from the kitchen who prepared and served the food with so much love. ☺️ I'm originally from Nordstadt, but I moved away years ago. I never expected to find such a wonderful place in the middle of the North Market. A big thank you to my colleagues for the gift and to the team at the Grüner Salon for the great experience. This was definitely not my last visit! See you soon!🌿🥗🥪🍹🪴

A nice new discovery! Cozy atmosphere, nice staff, interesting menu. Today we had poached eggs with avocado on ciabatta, with delicious Spanish fried potatoes, avocado cream, aioli and a side salad. Large portions. Plus cappuccino/milk and freshly squeezed orange juice. All very tasty. Prices ok. Absolutely recommended!

Lovely cafe in Nordmarkt Park. On a cold winter day the park and it's visitors wouldn't suggest to linger there but Grüner Salon is a little friendly gem. There is plenty of free street parking around. Outdoor seating is available despite the cold but inside is much cosier. Little tables spread around a bar. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu provides something for everyone:all day breakfast, lunch, sandwiches and snacks - pommes (fries)&prosecco is one of the unique offerings. The drinks selection is equally vast including smoothies, coffee varieties, beers(tap) wine and cocktails. I opted for a cake which are on display and a flat white (shouldn't do that outside Australia, but it's a habit 😅). My friend had a smashed avocado sandwich which came with lots of fresh salad. Looking at other people's orders, the serving sizes are very generous and everything is prepared fresh. I would definitely come back, would be great to sit outside in summer with a refreshing cocktail 🙂

The journey is not promising, December 26th, everything is gray, groups of men on the side of the road, there were three of us and we were wondering whether the car would still be there when we got back. We dared and it was great. Delicious food for which in our case no animal had to die, everything was homemade, large, hot portions, nice service, even though it was busy in the afternoon, quiet thanks to good acoustics..... the car was still there :-) - we're going there again

A very nice local in the middle of the northern city. The food is excellent, good portions, looks good and tastes great. We received all orders quickly. The service was lovely. So you can really recommend it!

In contrast to the online menu, “French tapas” were served. Cremant was poured into the carrot soup at the table and we thought: great, we can continue like this, especially since the taste of the soup was good. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The salmon tartare was tasty, but the crispini were missing. Unfortunately, the porcini mushroom pate was not recognizable as such and passed off more as a dip that was served with grain bread. An onglet should be served “rare” or “medium rare”, but ours was more than done. It's a shame about the beautiful meat. The cod was tasty, but not attractively served. The mousse au chocolat was gone towards the end, but the Steusel cake was good. Unfortunately, more appearance than reality. The service seemed overwhelmed when the restaurant was at full capacity, but was still friendly. The atmosphere is somehow cool, but could be improved. Overall, unfortunately for us, it failed as a restaurant. Maybe more of a meeting place for a glass of wine and a snack at the same time.

The food was really very tasty and “unusual”. So not the standard breakfast you know from the bakery. The staff was very nice (they also boiled us water for our baby food) and it felt very homely. You could describe it as a bit cramped and you can feel that the salon is working on its kapa limit. But for such delicious food, it's okay to wait 5 minutes longer. Everything fresh and really tasty and well thought out. Gladly again! P.S. Unfortunately, Borsigplatz makes a mixed first impression due to the many “homeless people”. But as soon as you walk in the door, you forget about it again...

So the café itself is quite nice but it doesn't correspond to the pictures uploaded on the internet. If you expect a lot of plants, you won't really be satisfied with the four and five plants. But that's not the point why I'm writing my review here... It's the environment... we were shocked at the location of this cafe. There is rubbish everywhere and there are a lot of shady people milling about in the park and the surrounding streets, it had a very strange feeling. The service of the café was really good and the drinks were great too but I can't give all the 5 star reviews understand because the location and the ambience are anything but cozy and inviting.

Wir waren das 1. Mal dort, da wir bereits nur Gutes gehört haben. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Aromenzusammenstellung toll gewählt. Die Karte passt sich der Saison an. Viel vegetarisch aber auch mit Fleisch - für jeden etwas.

Phew, if you're not from Dortmund, you're definitely in for a shock here. The restaurant is located in a small park that is literally littered with trash. Everything in the restaurant also seemed pretty shabby. Unfortunately, the menu published on the website did not correspond at all to the dishes actually available. The only waitress seemed very overwhelmed with everything. We then left without ordering, so we can't say anything about the food itself.

Favorite place 😊. When I visit friends in Dortmund's Nordstadt, I always go around the corner to the green salon. Service, food, drinks 👍.

Very inexpensive breakfast around the clock. I can highly recommend the lemonades and the Korean Eggroll Sandwitch with extra avocado and bacon. Super friendly and relaxed service.

At a fire. A gastronomic oasis in Dortmund. Service is okay, but there may simply be too few people, so it's better to bring a little more time, you have to wait quite a long time for the food. However, it's worth it!

The three of us had breakfast last Friday in the Grüner Salon. We had a table reservation and were able to choose a table outside, but unfortunately there wasn't really a suitable table available for 3, so a mini table that was already full with the drinks, but ok, that was fine. Unfortunately we then waited 1 hour for breakfast. What came next was really tasty and freshly prepared, but the waiting time was a bit too long to maintain the good mood we had, 2 out of 3 on the verge of starvation ;) Nevertheless, we were ultimately satisfied, tasty, full, special place that we really liked. We will definitely come back again and hope that the waiting time will be a little shorter.

Today I visited the Green Salon Café and unfortunately had a very negative experience. My 4 and 7 year old children urgently needed to go to the toilet but the staff didn't allow them and were very rude to us. This situation has left us very disappointed and upset. This indifference towards customers and children is unacceptable. I hope that the Green Salon Café will deal with such situations more sensitively in the future and take appropriate measures to avoid similar incidents.

Small bistro on the Nordmarkt. The map is clear. The selection of drinks is very wide. I was pleased that there were also many vegetarian and vegan alternatives to eat. My broccoli bowl was extremely tasty. The prices were absolutely reasonable. I was able to pay easily by credit card.

Ein gemütliches kleines Restaurant mit schönem Außenbereich in einem kleinen Park im Norden von Dortmund, das seinem Namen alle Ehre macht. Die Speisen waren frisch, ansprechend zubereitet und sehr lecker, die Bedienung aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir, eine Gruppe von sechs Freunden, haben den Aufenthalt im grünen Salon genossen und konnten anschließend gut gestärkt ins Konzert im naheglegenen JunkYard gehen.

Staff is super nice, but we waited almost an hour for our bowls, which is extremely long. If you're hungry, that's a shame.

I can't rate the food and service because the ambience... i.e. the environment... is absolutely bad. Drugs and garbage. And potential stabbers. Attacks are quite possible during the day

First the positive: The service and the employees were really super nice. But: Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't convince me. For me, a smoothie that is infused with a ready-made juice is not a fresh smoothie. I get the avocado cuts better at home. Unfortunately, price-performance is not justified. The atmosphere in the cafe itself is nice and bright. However, the park in which the cafe is located was completely littered and you could see from the cafe how hard drugs were being consumed in front of it. Sunday brunch atmosphere meets drug scene. I wouldn't have dared to stay there for long in the dark.

A small oasis in the middle of a small park that is unfortunately very neglected. If you don't know that there is a nice bistro here - you probably wouldn't get lost here, the surroundings of the Green Salon are too irritating. But when you sit inside you seem to be in another world. Alternatively, but clean and tidy with very friendly staff and very tasty food, you can have breakfast or coffee and cake here. Bowls are also offered at lunchtime, priced at a level that would be ok if it weren't in this area. I think the prices are a bit too high for that, but the friendliness of everyone makes it worth it.

Very nice location in a green area in the north of the city. The service was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately we had to wait quite a long time for food and drinks. But the nice atmosphere and the good quality of the food made up for it.

I had breakfast here on a Sunday and luckily we had reserved early. The cafe is located next to a park and is well attended. The tables were incredibly close to each other and you could easily hear the conversations from the neighboring table. Unfortunately I just don't want that. The service was quick and friendly too. However, the food on offer bears no relation to the price. You tend to go home hungry. I wouldn't come back under these circumstances.

We had breakfast here for the first time on Sunday... The breakfast was great (egg avocado and omelet), but everything is very cramped, you have to get up sometimes so that other people can sit down. The price-performance ratio is ok. The green salon was full, so definitely reserve a table. We will be back...

All-day-breakfast war genau das, was wir brauchten. Erst in der Ausstellung phoenix des lumieres und anschließend frühstücken - herrlich:-) Wir hatten Englisches Frühstück und Rührei-Stulle. Alles frisch zubereitet und das Brot selbst gebacken. Köstlich!!! Vielen Dank an das Team vom Grünen Salon!

Really inconspicuous from the outside, but I was taught otherwise 😍 Super delicious breakfast & packed even early on. The breakfast is really delicious. The drinks were nice too. Service was friendly and attentive. The food took a while, but everything was freshly prepared. Personally, I didn't like the atmosphere that much anymore. Haven't been here for a very long time. It used to have more charm and a vintage look. At just under EUR 46, it's not exactly cheap, but still recommended!

Die Atmosphäre war toll, gemütlich. Obwohl es sehr voll war und die Tische teilweise mit einem geringen Abstand standen, war es ok, denn das Lokal ist an sich eher klein. Unser Tisch stand direkt neben der Toilettentür, was aber garkein Problem darstellte. Das Essen (1x Croissant mit Marmelade und 2x Rührei auf Sauerteigbrot waren sehr lecker), nur ist Zeit hier ein Problem. -Wir kamen an und keiner führte uns an unseren Tisch. Haben uns nach fünf Minuten selbst unser Reservierungsschild gesucht. Dann nach ca. 15min kam eine Kellnerin in den Raum und auch zu uns. Wir bestellten Getränke und vorsorglich auch direkt das Essen. Die Getränke kamen zeitnah, das Essen 50min später. Trotz der süßen Atmösphäre war es doch ein Dämpfer, dass wir nach 50min eine Servicekraft heranwinken und nach dem Essen fragen mussten.

Wir waren zum 7. Geburtstag im Grünen Salon. Es gab ein 7 Gang Tischbuffet in Veganer, vegetarischer und omnivorer Variante. Beide haben wir die Fleischvariante gewählt und waren wie immer mehr als zufrieden. Vielen Dank für nun 7 Jahre leckeres Essen und tollen Service. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne rum.

The food tasted really great! I had the beetroot dumplings and they were really tasty, as was the salad etc…. Rarely eaten so deliciously.

A very pleasant & well-run restaurant. We had dinner here and enjoyed the very special atmosphere. The table, equipment and sanitary facilities are perfectly fine and have a great flair. Food and drinks are good value for money and the quality is okay. In my opinion the location is not very optimal. Located at the Nordmarkt and from the evening onwards you feel rather uneasy on the way to the location. We would still come back, in the summer in daylight.

Es ist ein kleines Café in der Nordstadt auf dem Nordmarkt, schön umringt von Bäumen mit einer kleinen Außenterrasse mit selbst-gemachte Kuchenleckereien wie z.b. Schokoladentorte wie Sie Früher meine Oma gemacht hatte die Schokolade ist sehr sehr reichhaltig 👍.Auch die heiße Schokolade mit Milch kann ich nur wärmstens Empfehlen. Alle Servicemitarbeiter sind super nett und nicht zu aufdringlich. Wenn man dieses Café nach Sternen bewerten könnte würde ich 100 Sterne geben. Das Preis -Leistungsverhältnis halte ich für angemessen.

Wir waren heute zum Frühstück hier. Es war recht voll, aber wir haben noch einen Platz bekommen. Das Frühstück war gut. Und der Service war super. Gerne kommen wir wieder wenn wir in Dortmund sind.

Es gab superleckere Köstlichkeiten von der Sonderkarte (peruanische Küche) in gemütlicher Wohnzimmeratmosphäre! Alles war frisch zubereitet, sehr gut abgeschmeckt und auf den Punkt gegart. Wir kommen gerne wieder =)

Heute nach langer Zeit mal wieder dagewesen. Essen Top, Service Top, WC Top Es war peruanisches Wochenende mit spezieller Karte. Uns sagten nicht alle Gerichte etwas, aber die Inhalte waren gut beschrieben. Somit war die Wahl einfach. Ähnlich wie Tapas aufgebaut konnte man mehrere kalte und Warme Speisen wählen. Die Portionen waren dafür super. Man kann alles in die Mitte stellen und teilen. Bar und Karte war möglich. Wir kommen wieder.

Wunderbar : Essen, Bedienung und wenn man in der Sonne sitzend das fantastische Frühstück genießen kann ... gute Momente inmitten der Nordstadt. Ich habe mich jetzt vor kurzem über ein paar Cafés in Dortmund informiert, da ich mich mit einer Freundin seit langem wieder getroffen habe und ich bereue diese Entscheidung absolut nicht. Die Bedienung war unglaublich freundlich, sehr zuvorkommend und hat mir direkt ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht gezaubert. :D Ebenfalls die Gerichtsauswahl, sowie die Getränkeauswahl hat perfekt zu unserem Geschmack gepasst. Ich hatte ein Korean Egg Drop Sandwich und kann es jedem empfehlen :) Ein sehr gelungener Abend in einer absolut gemütlichen Ambiente!

Ich liebe den Grünen Salon. Das Essen ist einfach super und die Bedienung immer nett. Das Französische Wochenende hat mich richtig begeistert und war preislich absolut angemessen. Seit ich in der Nordstadt wohne, komme ich regelmäßig und gerne her! Die Einrichtung ist auch super schön und gemütlich und ich bin froh, für ein nettes Café nicht ständig ins Kreuzviertel o.ä. fahren zu müssen. Der Salon wertet den Nordmarkt wirklich auf!

Spannende Sache Wir waren am 28.10.2023 mit einer kleinen, für den Grünen Salon vermutlich eher ungewöhnlichen Gruppe, zu Gast. Dabei stand der Grüne Salon schon seit geraumer Zeit auf meiner „zu testen“ Liste. Das „französische Wochenende“ vom 26. bis 29. Oktober bot jetzt endlich den Anlass dazu. Schon die Anreise war für unsere kleine Vorstädter-Gruppe recht spannend. Der Fußweg von der U-Bahn Haltestelle Leopoldstraße über die Münsterstraße zum Nordmarkt führte uns durch eine für uns eher gewöhnungsbedürftige Gegend. Irgendwie exotisch aber in keiner Weise problematisch. Angekommen im, abgesehen von unserem reservierten 5er-Tisch voll besetzten grünen Salon, haben wir mit unseren 65 bis 70 Jahren erstmal den Altersdurchschnitt der Gäste ordentlich nach oben gerissen 😊. Das hat aber weder die anderen Gäste noch uns in irgendeiner Weise gestört. Erneut kurz gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber ebenfalls keineswegs störend, war die Möblierung des Restaurants. Die Tische stammen offensichtlich aus unterschiedlichsten Bauweisen, sind teilweise wohl auch selbst gezimmert. Das passt perfekt in das Ambiente am Nordmarkt. Der Empfang war freundlich und unkompliziert. Wir setzten uns an unseren Tisch und bekamen „vom Personal“, ich vermute es war die Chefin, sofort irgendwie das Gefühl vermittelt, hier schon ewig zu den Stammgästen zu gehören. Kurze Erklärung zur Speisekarte, erste kleine Bestellungen und schon kurz danach hatten wir unseren Aperitif und ersten Leckereien auf den Tellern. In der weiteren Folge war es, kurz zusammenfassend formuliert, einfach nur klasse. Wir bestellten mehrmals kleinere Portionen aus dem Angebot des „französischen Wochenendes“. Die Lieferung ging jeweils ohne zu lange Wartezeiten vonstatten, dazu gab es einen ausgezeichneten Rotwein. Das alles permanent begleitet von ausnehmend freundlichen und kompetenten Mitarbeiterinnen im Service. Nach drei wundervollen Stunden haben wir pappsatt, sehr zufrieden und leicht angeheitert diese für uns völlig ungewöhnliche Location verlassen. Der Gesamtpreis knapp unterhalb von 300.—Euro incl. Trinkgeld (für uns fünf Personen) war durchaus angemessen. Dafür haben wir sehr lecker und eine Menge gegessen und getrunken und eine herrlichen Abend verbracht.

Spannende Sache Wir waren am 28.10.2023 mit einer kleinen, für den Grünen Salon vermutlich eher ungewöhnlichen Gruppe, zu Gast. Dabei stand der Grüne Salon schon seit geraumer Zeit auf meiner „zu testen“ Liste. Das „französische Wochenende“ vom 26. bis 29. Oktober bot jetzt endlich den Anlass dazu. Schon die Anreise war für unsere kleine Vorstädter-Gruppe recht spannend. Der Fußweg von der U-Bahn Haltestelle Leopoldstraße über die Münsterstraße zum Nordmarkt führte uns durch eine für uns eher gewöhnungsbedürftige Gegend. Irgendwie exotisch aber in keiner Weise problematisch. Angekommen im, abgesehen von unserem reservierten 5er-Tisch voll besetzten grünen Salon, haben wir mit unseren 65 bis 70 Jahren erstmal den Altersdurchschnitt der Gäste ordentlich nach oben gerissen 😊. Das hat aber weder die anderen Gäste noch uns in irgendeiner Weise gestört. Erneut kurz gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber ebenfalls keineswegs störend, war die Möblierung des Restaurants. Die Tische stammen offensichtlich aus unterschiedlichsten Bauweisen, sind teilweise wohl auch selbst gezimmert. Das passt perfekt in das Ambiente am Nordmarkt. Der Empfang war freundlich und unkompliziert. Wir setzten uns an unseren Tisch und bekamen „vom Personal“, ich vermute es war die Chefin, sofort irgendwie das Gefühl vermittelt, hier schon ewig zu den Stammgästen zu gehören. Kurze Erklärung zur Speisekarte, erste kleine Bestellungen und schon kurz danach hatten wir unseren Aperitif und ersten Leckereien auf den Tellern. In der weiteren Folge war es, kurz zusammenfassend formuliert, einfach nur klasse. Wir bestellten mehrmals kleinere Portionen aus dem Angebot des „französischen Wochenendes“. Die Lieferung ging jeweils ohne zu lange Wartezeiten vonstatten, dazu gab es einen ausgezeichneten Rotwein. Das alles permanent begleitet von ausnehmend freundlichen und kompetenten Mitarbeiterinnen im Service. Nach drei wundervollen Stunden haben wir pappsatt, sehr zufrieden und leicht angeheitert diese für uns völlig ungewöhnliche Location verlassen. Der Gesamtpreis knapp unterhalb von 300.—Euro incl. Trinkgeld (für uns fünf Personen) war durchaus angemessen. Dafür haben wir sehr lecker und eine Menge gegessen und getrunken und eine herrlichen Abend verbracht.

Kleine nette/r Bar/Kneipe/Biergarten, wöchentlich wechselnde Gerichte und eine solide Bierauswahl. Bei schlechtem Wetter kann man aber auch gemütlich drin sitzen.

Der Café ist direkt im Park. Essen lecker, Kaffee lecker und die Bedingung super freundlich. Preise = top! 🫶🏽

Hier kann man gut essen oder auch "nur" Kaffee trinken und Kuchen essen. Die Lokation ist gemütlich eingerichtet, was nicht zwangsläufig bequem bedeutet. Es gibt auch einen Außenbereich. Es gibt eine regelmäßig wechselnde Speisekarte, entsprechend der saisonalen Gemüseangebote. Hier ist es allerdings immer sehr trubbelig. Wenn es sehr voll ist, sogar laut.

Kaffee Kuchen alles einfach gut Bedingungen sind alle gut drauf.

Waren heute zum ersten, aber definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal dort! Der Service war schnell, freundlich und auch wahnsinnig nett! Beim nächsten Mal werden wir definitiv daran denken einen Tisch drinnen zu reservieren! Die Bewertung des Ambiente bezieht sich auf draußen, da heute nur da ein Platz frei war!

Leckeres Frühstücken und sehr nette Bedienung. Wir kommen wieder!
