Great atmosphere and a brilliant selection of exquisite craft beers. The staff is friendly and super fast. "Even though a very friendly waitress is now leaving the shop (thanks for the great time S)" The owner is always open to questions and will help you choose fine beers. The food is great (we were able to watch fresh vegetables being brought into the kitchen) and the atmosphere invites you to linger.

A perfect oasis in the heart of Dortmund! Great view of Westpark. Very friendly staff, a wide selection of food and drinks with excellent value for money. The large and always freshly selected draft beers are particularly cool. Good service: a charging station for e-bikes. The large hall is also ideal for family events or parties. We always enjoy visiting the BierCafé West in Castrop and highly recommend the pleasant location!

Fine ambience for family celebrations!

A really great café that has an outrageous number of beers 🍻 - the decision is always difficult because so many beers 🍺 sound great! The food 🍽️ is in no way inferior to the beer! Great little things for smaller hungers and even large meals can be easily found here 🫶🏻 An absolute 🔝 recommendation!

Worst service ever. Nowhere else do you have to wait so long for fries and Bionade. On top of that, everyone was annoyed and unfriendly.

The café is located in the middle of Westpark and, especially when it is warmer, you can sit on the terrace. The selection of beer is indescribably large. There are also cakes and other smaller dishes. So far everything I have ordered has been to my complete satisfaction and absolutely delicious. The team is super attentive and friendly. The fair prices are definitely worth mentioning here.

Wonderful place to let time pass

We were there for dinner with a group of 29 people. Very friendly staff and the food was delicious and everything was delivered quickly. Getting to know the different types of beer was very interesting. I can only recommend it

We didn't eat there, which was probably better in terms of time. We all got our drinks, only my child had to wait 25 minutes for a hot chocolate. Then we paid and of course we didn't pay for the chocolate because it never came. According to the waitress because the employees are overwhelmed behind the counter. To make matters worse, I paid too much for two drinks, it was noticed when my girlfriend paid for exactly the same drinks and she should have paid a lot less. I then got back what I overpaid. We're never coming back.

The food is great, but unfortunately the service is disastrous. I visited a friend in Dortmund who previously said that it always takes so long to order there. Due to the lack of alternatives and the sunshine, we still sat on the well-filled terrace. After I asked inside to place my order, someone came. When asked which cakes there were, the answer was “you have to look inside, I don’t know what has already been cleaned up”. Cappuccino “would take longer”, waffles too. So we decided to have the cake at the next table. “I don't know if it's still there,” said the waiter - but I just saw it inside. At some point the two cappuccinos arrived. When we thought that the cake would also be served to our table, there was tea with it, which is why the waiter wasn't sure whether the pieces of cake were really for us and went back in with the whole order. I asked whether table numbers were used. Yes, we also had one noted. The cake was then very tasty. But the service could be organized a little better, e.g. divided according to table numbers. Even when it's full.

What a great beer garden and in the middle of Dortmund (me as a Schalke player) the food is very tasty and the beer selection is great! The types of beer change here every now and then! I can recommend the new Vista! The service force is nice and fast! The food is delicious and even faster and the price is simply great! We're coming back to the Forbidden City! The food is good, and the service is very friendly. It's very pleasant both inside and out. When it's busy, it can get noisy, which might be a bit unpleasant for those sensitive to noise. The prices are moderate, and otherwise, it's highly recommended.

Everything was very, very tip top

Was there for the first time yesterday and it certainly wasn't the last time. Very nice cozy pub, surprisingly big. Service was absolutely on point, great selection of 20 draft beers and many more cans/bottles from the fridge, and the food was also very good. I had currywurst with fries, which was absolutely fine. The price/performance ratio is also absolutely fair. I'd love to come back soon.

The staff is very friendly and I can only recommend the salad with fried shrimp. The ambience is really great. A special highlight is the screen with a fireplace.

I had the pleasure of eating at the beer cafe last night and it was an all around great experience. As soon as I entered the restaurant I was warmly welcomed and transported into a cozy atmosphere. The ambience is modern, but still very inviting - perfect for a relaxed dinner or for special occasions. The staff was extremely attentive, professional and never intrusive. You immediately notice that service is very important here. The menu offers a great selection of dishes. Everything was prepared with great attention to detail. All in all, it was an unforgettable evening and I can highly recommend the beer café. Everything is just right here – from the quality of the food to the first-class service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Food (manti with potato filling) was served lukewarm, even though we were the only guests. Schnitzel overcooked, mushrooms cream sauce that only tasted like cream. The only bright spot were the fries! Service very inexperienced, plates not completely cleared, relatively long waiting times. So unfortunately a disappointment, will not be coming back.

Was at the salsa café on Sunday. The atmosphere and the DJ was great. The staff are extremely friendly. I ate the pasta with cream sauce, chicken and mushrooms. It tasted very good!

Nice to sit outside in summer and now great in winter with the small Christmas market

This could be a really great shop, we were regular customers here, unfortunately we were always disappointed with the service. Even though there wasn't much going on, we sometimes waited over 40 minutes for a coffee and twice our food was completely forgotten. When we asked, the kitchen was already closed and we came away empty-handed. However, when it arrived it was very tasty. The overwhelmed service and the sometimes very unfriendly answers to returns of bad drinks are the reason why we will no longer visit this restaurant.

We like going there. Dad food is good. And as the name suggests, a large, always changing beer selection. In summer there is a lovely beer garden with a view of Westpark.

I visited the Bier Cafe West in Dortmund's Westpark and was completely impressed! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a social evening with friends. The selection of beers is impressive - from regional specialties to international varieties, there is something for every taste. I tried some craft beers and loved the quality. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the recommendations were excellent. The snacks I ordered went perfectly with the drinks and were freshly prepared. Overall, Bier Cafe West is a great place to spend time and discover new beers. I'll definitely be back!

Very nice location in Westpark. Friendly service. The kofta were very tasty. Try the IPA beer number 19. Very tasty.

A nicely located restaurant. Unfortunately, you often have to wait longer for your order/service. I don't understand why people don't rely on local beers in the former beer capital but on craft beer. Also a bit expensive. I think you can also sit on one of the many benches in the park with a beer from the kiosk. Nevertheless, you can still relax here in the green and enjoy your evening after work.

Currywurst with homemade sauce and the delicious fries are a hit! When the weather is nice, it's very pleasant to sit outside with a wonderful view of the West Park. You're amazed at what beautiful things open up when you come off the street. Service is also warm and pleasant, tables are cleaned after each guest. Very good bike rack and e-bike charging station. Children's meal was also very well received.

We were there with 3 friends, everyone ordered something different for food, service was good and friendly, drinks came quickly. Unfortunately the food was bad and not worth the price. When we complained about the food we got the answer: more guests had already complained and the chef was probably not in a good mood today. For us it was the first and last visit.

Came there on a rainy day after a walk. The café looks very inviting from the inside and the staff comes to you quickly. The cocoa was nothing special but definitely tasty. The waffles there, on the other hand, were incredibly fluffy and were really good👍 I can't say anything about the hearty food, but I think a "cafe" isn't mainly about the food. Prices are okay too. All in all a nice café in the Kreuzviertel.

Found a place here during Westpark Fest. The coffee was good, the cheesecake was also very good and everything was reasonably priced. A good place if you want to watch the goings-on in Westpark at leisure.

Delicious currywurst, delicious beer

The two of us were there yesterday. We were able to order currywurst and fries once. Everything else would be over. So “Twice is better” ordered currywurst and fries for 1 person. After about an hour of waiting, I asked where this food was. Among other things, they said I could have ordered something else, it would only take another 45 minutes. No thanks!!!!!! Finally this one meal came, but without cutlery. Asked for the 3rd time. It would still take time. Food was cold. Asked again. A piece of cake came as an apology.

Certainly more of a café than a craft beer bar during the day. But the balancing act works well. But now I can only talk about the beer.

You feel welcome here. The service is always friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable and during the day you will find a lot of families who are welcome here and have enough space.

We arrived just as the register had closed unfortunately, after having finally found a place in Dortmund with a selection of craft beers. A LARGE selection at that! Staff was noticeably disappointed they couldn’t accommodate us and was very friendly. Even gave us two free local beers to take with us for free. Amazing! We will be back on the very first day when we come back to Dortmund!

Excellent currywurst for a good price. Very happy about the food and atmosphere. A lot of people have been saying the service here is slow, but we got our food within 10 minutes! I got the pleasure of also trying their vegan currywurst, and as someone who usually doesn't enjoy vegetarian/vegan food, I found it delicious! Great place, highly recommend.

We stopped there after visiting the Brewery Museum. What a successful shop. Great ambience, delicious currywurst, fantastic staff and the beer selection is very good. A place worth visiting as a sommelier.

If you like (craft) beer: great Also little things to eat I had kofta and I have to say: I've rarely had it so good. There's someone in the kitchen who can do it very, very well. Finally the bill: very cheap. I had 7 (!) different beers and kofta for around €30. Oh well: 0.1l, the rating is not that alcohol-impaired Absolutely go!

Um nach einem Spaziergang im Westpark einzukehren eine nette Adresse. Wir hatten den Lachs und haben anstatt von Nudeln auf Wunsch Reis bekommen. Die Dillsoße war wirklich sehr lecker.

Tolles Café mit leckerem Essen. Wir wollten die letzten Sonnenstrahlen im Westpark genießen und haben dann Päuschen im BierCafé gemacht. Eigentlich sollte es nur ein Käffchen werden, aber man konnte draußen herrlich sitzen/lümmeln/rumhängen - wie jemand eben mag. Da es länger wurde, warf ich einen Blick in die Speisekarte. Nicht viele Gerichte, aber dafür tolle kleine Gerichte. Was mir besonders positiv aufgefallen ist, auch vegane Gerichte waren dabei. Also, vegane Currywurst mit Pommes bestellt. Total lecker, selbst gemachte Currysoße herrlich, Pommes außen knusper innen fluffig - einfach prima ! Preise stimmen. Das Personal ist super nett und flott. Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächsten warmen Tage, dann ab zum BierCafé !
