Terrible food and awful service on Christmas Day! Our half-duck was nothing but skin and bones. The dumplings were barely bigger than a ping-pong ball, and the spices hadn't been removed from the red cabbage, so we kept biting into cloves and allspice. The extra dumplings arrived long after we'd finished eating. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink. The only redeeming feature was the peppered carp, and the male waiter was friendly, but the female waiters were very rude. We skipped dessert and left frustrated. We'll never go there again.

December 26, 2025 We had a reservation for 6:30 PM. Upon arrival, there was no table in the room where we had reserved. When we asked, we were brushed off with a "that's just how it is!" attitude. The food was an outrage. Some of it was cold, the taste was awful, and the potato salad was dry and inedible. The service was overwhelmed; all in all, a complete failure, a 6 out of 10! They'll never get my money again!!

Who likes semi-raw food, it's 5 stars. Not me! The service is always late (over 15 minutes for a glass of beer).

We were there for the Christmas party; we had to wait an hour for drinks and two hours for the food. The other table arrived later and got their food sooner. The pork shoulder wasn't cooked through, nor was my duck. It wasn't great, and I definitely don't need to go there again.

First, the positives: the food tasted really good and the portions were generously sized. Unfortunately, the service was not so positive. It was unfriendly, and when we asked for adjustments to our meal due to dietary restrictions, the waiter reacted with annoyance. There was no "please" or "thank you" when the plate was brought, and the waiter was generally very taciturn. When we asked if the salad was coming with our main course, the response was, "I only have two hands," and yet, in the end, a side salad was also forgotten. After asking again, it finally arrived at the end of the meal and was charged separately, even though it was part of the meal (a potato and salad dish). After much back and forth, the waiter checked the menu and realized that a salad was indeed included. He then gave us €3 so we could finally leave (we had paid €3.50 for the side salad). There was no apology for forgetting the salad, nor was there any accusation that I was lying. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake, which was a real shame. I understand that everyone has a bad day, but you can't take that out on the customers.

The food was decent, but in my opinion, there's room for improvement. Unfortunately, there wasn't a proper children's menu, and putting together something from the regular menu would have cost us an adult meal plus an extra charge for changing the side dish... An extra charge for changing the side dish is a complete deal-breaker for me anyway. It's a real shame. Simple, small dishes for children/toddlers are sorely lacking. The service was very friendly.

After a successful Christmas party here last year, we were looking forward to another cozy evening at the Grüner Baum this year – unfortunately, in vain. The organization and communication beforehand were problematic. The internal organization apparently wasn't much better. Instead of exclusively non-alcoholic aperitifs, we were initially served a whole tray of alcoholic aperitifs – this hadn't been communicated. The appetizer and soup were served rather hastily, one after the other. As soon as the first plates were empty, they were cleared away just as hastily, while others at the table were still eating – not very pleasant. The same thing happened with the main course and dessert. We had explicitly requested a lactose-free version for one person in advance. Unfortunately, this request was negated by a decorative dollop of whipped cream (which wasn't lactose-free). But the worst part was a disco-like event running parallel to the main course with awful music on two floors – at a volume that made normal conversation impossible. From 10 p.m. onwards, they started clearing the tables – a not-so-subtle hint that we, as guests, should finally leave? Drinks were scarce. A cappuccino was out of the question. Instead of a regular coffee, we were finally given an espresso. We hadn't ordered it, but it was better than nothing. Around 11:00 p.m., when we were finally ready to leave, there was no one left to take our payment. The waitress in charge was nowhere to be found, and another rather rudely directed us downstairs to pay. We couldn't even open the door properly because people were standing behind it, enjoying the disco music. We gestured to a waiter downstairs that we wanted to pay. It was impossible to do so verbally because the music was too loud. We were finally able to explain our situation in a side room. The waiter wasn't at fault and treated us courteously and kindly. Dishes that had been prepared and paid for (some employees had to cancel at the last minute) were not packed for us to take home, as had been agreed beforehand. Overall, this Christmas party was a huge disappointment. At the very least, we could have been informed about the noisy event taking place at the same time. As a guest, we didn't feel welcome, more like a burden that was simply served once it was there. It's a shame; we'll probably have to find a different restaurant next year.

Why is Munich beer being served here in Fürth?

Christmas party booked on time, but communication was terrible. Menu items were changed without permission, and special requests that had been agreed to in writing were ignored on site. Meanwhile, a loud disco was playing on two floors simultaneously, which we were neither informed about beforehand nor on the evening itself. The food was very inconsistent, including some unripe fruit. The music from the "disco rooms" (the entire ground floor and half the upper floor) was so loud that normal conversation was impossible in our adjoining room. On top of that, the door handle fell off every time the door was closed. Absolutely not safe. Emergency exits were blocked by dancing guests on the ground floor. The waitresses were initially very pushy, then disappeared, and finally became rude. We would have gladly paid €2000 for 26 people, but under these circumstances, that seems outrageous! Definitely not recommended!

A historic building, the dining room rather spartan, but perfectly suited to the ambiance. The restrooms are on the ground floor and very clean. Prices are reasonable. The menu is extensive, and the quality is good. But why Augustiner in Fürth? Special praise is due to the attentive, friendly, and remarkably composed service, despite the busy atmosphere.

Delicious food, regional and good value. Main courses between €15 and €22 are absolutely fair.

Quaint. For a Swabian, the sauce is too watery, but still well seasoned.

After my first visit, I was thrilled with the restaurant and made another reservation for two. Unfortunately, the train was delayed, and I called the restaurant to let them know we'd be late. Upon arrival, the server informed us that he had canceled our reservation because we hadn't arrived on time. He was unaware of my objection that I had called and asked them to honor the reservation. Although there were still tables available in the dining room, he seated us in the drafty hallway. Okay, we were still looking forward to the famously good food, but unfortunately, we were disappointed once again. Instead of a tender suckling pig roast, we received a tough pork loin served with cold Savoy cabbage. A waste of money.

We ordered baked carp fillet and pork shoulder with crackling. Both were served promptly. The "oven-fresh" shoulder had clearly been taken out of the oven the day before; the meat was dry on the surface and almost black. Surprisingly, the crackling was golden brown and crispy, as it should be. The carp couldn't have been pan-fried, more likely microwaved. It was sent back and later not charged – goodwill or a guilty conscience? The lemon was quite dried out, having probably been waiting for hours. Perhaps it was a one-off; we won't be testing it. The beer was excellent.

When I go out to eat, I always want something special. It costs a lot these days, after all. I had half a duck. Yes, it was good, but personally, it lacked that certain something to make me want to come back. Like the savoy cabbage, for example—that was really delicious!

First and last time. Medalions with plié sauce. Unfortunately, the sauce was oversalted and bitter. The medallions themselves were also very dry.

We had made a reservation weeks in advance and were immediately asked by a waiter if we would be able to stay for two hours, as our table would then also be needed for a large group. We found that quite odd! He would then move us if necessary. We were able to order drinks right away, but they took a while! Then the waiter informed us that there were currently no salads or desserts available. Aha! Then another waitress came and took our food order. We wanted an appetizer (vitello forello), so BEFORE the main course. After 45 minutes (other guests who had ordered after us received their food before us), the main courses arrived!! We missed the appetizer! Then another waitress came and explained to us that there were "after all" no appetizers. We weren't informed about this (see above)! She apologized for the faux pas and offered us schnapps or coffee at the end. Suddenly, e.d. The waitress came with our starter and said it was available. But we didn't want to eat the starter with the main course! She asked if she should pack it for us or if we wanted to cancel it. We didn't want to be rude and agreed to take it with us. Note: when we got home... a look into the to-go box: Vitello Forello -> the capers and anchovies were missing, instead there were tomatoes and olives on it, and the baguette wasn't a garlic baguette! The service left a lot to be desired. We weren't asked for any other drinks; unfortunately, we had to make ourselves known. The beers were also missing beer foam! What a pity! After the meal, we were asked if everything was OK. Unfortunately, no! Only the shoulder of pork was very good! The suckling pig rack was "overcooked" and the wild garlic butter was unfortunately "hidden" under the meat and was only a hint of... The Sauerbraten (3 decent pieces) was mostly too firm and by no means tender. The (bread) dumplings were too hard and very pale, and their flavor also left a lot to be desired. We were offered schnapps for our frankness!! Thank you! Overall, however, it was unfortunately not a culinary highlight. And: our table ultimately wasn't needed at all—but we weren't informed either. The service staff also didn't seem very organized. There was a lack of leadership, so to speak.

We've been there a few times with the family and have always had friendly service, the food is delicious and so is their own beer.

Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff. We were wedding guests. The food was vegan and vegetarian. I was thrilled with the many varied menus. I've rarely eaten so well. Bravo.

I called in the morning to make a reservation for 8:30 p.m. Four hours later, we arrived to find out the kitchen closes at 8 p.m. on Sundays. I asked the employee in the morning if she was sure, because she didn't ask for my last name. A huge disappointment, and the staff weren't trained. We won't be back.

Few customers at 12:30. Drinks came very quickly. Good Wiener Schnitzel, three sausages of different shapes, but tasty. The cod was thickly breaded and felt partially reheated. A second drink order was taken but never arrived. Several servers walked past our table and saw the empty plates; no one wanted to take them. When we paid, the drinks that hadn't been brought were still waiting for payment. It's a shame, we've been there several times, and everything was very good.

We went there for lunch on a Sunday. We were totally disappointed. We were served cold food even though it wasn't that busy. It was a disaster. The Schäuferle (pork shoulder) was inedible. Tough, and the crust was wobbly. The worst part, however, was that the cordon bleu wasn't cooked all the way through, and the meat was still raw in the middle. As compensation, they offered a dessert of chocolate mousse on the house, but it wasn't good either. A shame. There were 8 of us, and 5 of the 8 dishes were not good.

The cheese spaetzle were completely cold. The sauerkraut schnitzel was okay. The food arrived at the table in less than five minutes, so it was obviously a microwave or a converter. The cold food was "remade" (probably reheated), but there was no apology or ice cream on the house. Absolutely disgusting and not recommended.

The food was hot afterwards, but there was no apology. The staff were not very friendly. The side salad was very tasty, as were the spaetzle themselves. I thought it was a shame that the staff were not authentically Franconian; I like this culture and wanted to experience it. We were treated rather indifferently; it's a shame there was no welcoming culture.

The food is delicious and the portions are generous. A lovely inn with a long tradition and a pleasant atmosphere. The value for money is impeccable. I'd be happy to come back.

Adjusted rating (from original 5 stars) to 2 stars. I was extremely disappointed twice in a row. Once, the meat was so tough that I didn't eat it. The staff responded well to my criticism. The second time, four people had shoulder of pork, and none of them finished it because it was too tough. When this was politely pointed out to the waitress at the end (question: had they changed the meat supplier?), she replied, "I can't help it, I'm not the chef." The reaction was inappropriate and unprofessional. Therefore, it's not worth a visit for me again. Previous review: Very tasty food and friendly staff. The two bar waiters, in particular, are fun to watch at work.

Drinks order was after 20 minutes...guests at the next table were served first even though we had been there about 20 minutes earlier...then asked for the menu...guests next to us had received it first...menu was not brought to us...we left after 2 drinks...without food...no one else came....We definitely won't be coming back and will not recommend it to anyone...catastrophe

A mixed experience. The ambiance is great. The food was mixed: the kitchen's expertise clearly lies in meat dishes. The cheese spaetzle lacked a certain kick (e.g., spicy mountain cheese), and the teriyaki bowl doesn't deserve the name. Simply beans on rice with ready-made teriyaki sauce is somewhat unimaginative and hardly a culinary highlight. On the positive side, there are vegetarian dishes. The meat dishes and the raspberry dressing in the salad, on the other hand, were outstanding. Unfortunately, the service is far below par. We got the side salad after asking three times. The bowl was mistakenly served with chicken, and then we were charged for it anyway after exchanging it.

The food and service were truly great, nothing to complain about. 👌 We sat outside, and my only criticisms were the incredibly uncomfortable chairs with the bar in the back, and the fact that some tables were so close to the next table that you couldn't move the chair at all. Otherwise, we enjoyed the ambiance, the friendliness, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. We'll be back. 😉👍

The food on site is really great, but we've already ordered twice through Lieferando, and both times the order was canceled, even though we live just a stone's throw away. Recommendation: familiarize yourself with the terminal on site, and if you can't or don't want to deliver, block the order acceptance so you don't unnecessarily look forward to the delicious food!

We were there yesterday and everything was perfect. The Walberla schnitzel and the Augustiner pan-fried dish with chanterelle sauce were simply a brilliant combination for sharing. The waitress was very friendly and professional. Good value for money, too. The only thing I didn't like was the typical German beer garden furniture with its hard wooden folding chairs, but it was authentic.

Today, unfortunately, was a complete disappointment. We were initially happy to have secured a table at the Fürth Wine Festival. The very friendly waitress immediately pointed out that we had to order food within 10 minutes. So we quickly ordered our meals. After a 30-minute wait (without drinks), the waitress contritely informed us that the chef refused to prepare anything else and that the manager had unfortunately already left. What kind of ignorance towards customers is it to simply cancel an order that had already been placed? Is this the employees' decision? An employee like that wouldn't stay with us for another day. Such arrogant and unfriendly behavior is simply a no-go for a service company. Sorry, we always enjoyed being guests at the Grüner Baum, but you'll never see us there again. Apparently, they simply don't have the need to fulfill customers' wishes or take care of hungry guests.

Although it was known that it was a diamond wedding celebration with 25 people, the tables were unfortunately very spartanly decorated. The asparagus salad lacked vinegar. The warm asparagus was tasteless. The roast beef with onions, on the other hand, was very good. Service was very good and friendly.

The Grüner Baum on Gustavstraße is truly a little gem in Fürth. The location in the heart of charming Gustavstraße couldn't be better – perfect for a cozy end to the evening or simply to have a good time. The service is consistently friendly, attentive, and warm – you feel welcome from the very first moment. As a vegetarian, I'm particularly pleased with the really good selection of delicious veggie options. You can tell that they've thought of us too, and that everything is done with attention to detail. The prices are absolutely fair, especially considering the quality and the great ambiance. And if you're looking for something a little more exciting in the evening, you should definitely check out the various events – there's always something on offer, from live music to smaller cultural highlights. In conclusion: Great location, nice people, delicious food – I'll definitely be back! 🌿🍽️

We were there on Whitsun Sunday, June 8, 2025. We were disappointed 😞 the review did not reflect the food we received. The Schäuferle (meat) was halfway okay, the dumpling was too firm, the sauce was too thin and bland, no flavor. There was no beer sauce. You would think it had been topped up with water. The fries 🍟 weren't cooked through, the schnitzel and cordon bleu were edible. The sauerbraten and the sauce were good. The red cabbage did not live up to expectations, it was missing that certain something. Franconian cuisine badly cooked, you could say ✍️. The chef must have been having a bad day. There were six of us and we expected considerably more. Service was okay, but could be better; they seemed overwhelmed. We could really have done without the schnapps as an apology. The ambience was the best thing about the whole thing.

We were there for Mother's Day brunch on Sunday, and it was very good! The food selection was good, and what we liked was that there wasn't a crowd around the buffet. We'd love to have more brunch events 😉.

I had the great pleasure of DJing at a magnificent wedding reception at the Grüner Baum in Fürth. The venue is simply gorgeous – a fantastic ballroom with a gallery, stunning LED lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a special day like a wedding. The service was outstanding: the team was extremely friendly and professional, and ensured everything ran smoothly. It was a fantastic experience to DJ in such a pleasant environment and be part of this special moment. I highly recommend the Grüner Baum in Fürth to everyone – a perfect location for unforgettable celebrations!

I'm disappointed, my first asparagus of the season was ordered with butter, unfortunately it wasn't even warm anymore, but cold, so the lukewarm butter didn't help either, and the jacket potatoes weren't hot either. An additional point for the schnitzel

Super delicious food at amazing prices. The Schäufeles salad was really tasty and the schnitzel was simply great. Had a laugh ticket. That means the performance and the meal as desired with a delicious asparagus soup as a starter. So we only had to pay for the drinks. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Very nice event location at “Our darkness”. Very good music selection. Drink prices are still acceptable (beer €5, glass of wine €6.50). Toilets clean. Staff slightly stressed. Music ends in the large hall at 3 o'clock. Unfortunately, finding a parking space is terrible...but the green tree can't help it. I hope that this event continues. See you next time...

Very good food and very friendly service, gladly again

Really the only alternative for eating on Gustavstrasse. Large selection and very good taste in a nice atmosphere. Vegans and chic gourmets are in the wrong place here. Service during my stay was unfortunately in training, but someone else helped.

Not a single vegan option. Vegetarian dishes are passed off as vegan. The fries that were ordered because there was nothing else included a piece of chicken. When asked, they didn't even apologize; fries were included but not taken off the bill. The service overall was more than unfriendly. Absolutely not recommended for vegetarians/vegans. I also question the hygiene if there was old chicken in the fries, because according to the kitchen, no chicken was prepared that same day. Never again

We went out to eat with two small children. Reserved in advance with a request for a child's chair. When we arrived, the table was free and the children's chair was also ready. The food was very tasty and the price was right, also considering the location of the restaurant. Unfortunately our soups were forgotten, but we were offered a free dessert. The cordon bleu wasn't quite cooked through. It was then re-prepared without any problems. Mistakes can always happen, but it's the way you deal with them that was exemplary in our case. Thank you! The play area for the children was also very nice for our toddlers.

The service is overloaded and very slow, it takes ages to be seen. I ordered fried potatoes 3 times, but was brought potato salad. The cordon bleu was still raw inside, which is unacceptable with pork. The breading was still soft, it wasn't crispy or anything like that. No apology was given and I wanted the money refunded, which they did. There are 2 stars for this situation.

just perfect, I only go here when we are in the area. Excellent food, perfect and very nice service, it's like being at home in the living room with friends. Great location. Went to an event here

We were very satisfied. Friendly, food came very quickly after ordering and we enjoyed it. At peak times it is a little louder inside and the drinks could be delivered to the guests a little quicker. But that's whining at a high level. If we're in the area again we'll definitely come back.

Naturally, it was very pork-heavy. But the Schäuferla (a kind of pork stew) was delicious. The salad with carp chips was also delicious.

The place would certainly have fared less badly if it weren't for all the fraternity celebrations, Wehrmacht veneration from both World Wars, and the black-white-red collection of Reich memorabilia, which gave off a first-class beer hall putsch vibe. So I felt noticeably uneasy thinking about where the money from the beer and food I'd just consumed might have gone.

The starter, the so-called bruschetta, was a disgrace! First the bacon was forgotten and then sprinkled over it unfried! The so-called "Old Franconian Schnitzel" arrived lukewarm and the taste was mediocre.....

We had the food delivered. How anyone can even put such food out of the kitchen is a mystery to me, I would be ashamed! The carp is burnt and dripping with fat. It also smells like old grease and is burning! With the cordon bleu, the cheese has been lost to the paper bag and the fries also taste and smell like old fat. Of course not reachable by phone. €40 for trash, customer service 0!

As THE Fürth restaurant, it is a bit of a shame that there is no beer from the region, but from Munich. Nice old inn, but sometimes very loud when the place is full. Reservation recommended, no direct parking spaces.

Ganz mies, wie hier mit Kritik umgegangen wird: Offenbar lässt man schlechte Bewertungen bei Google professionell löschen und versucht die Bewerter einzuschüchtern, indem man mit Verleumdungsklagen droht. Deshalb poste ich jetzt die ursprüngliche Bewertung auch hier: Wir waren schon mehrfach hier und haben stets gut gegessen. Der Service war recht unterschiedlich, je nach Person. Nun wollten wir mit unserem Schlemmerblock, der noch bis 01.12. gültig ist, nochmal herkommen. Beim Versuch, online zu reservieren, sah ich dann den Hinweis, dass dieser nicht mehr akzeptiert wird. Das finde ich unverschämt: Die paar Wochen hätte man sich noch an den abgeschlossenen Vertrag halten können!

Reserved today at 1 p.m. Place half empty. Three waitresses, but the drink order was only taken after 20 minutes. The food was served without a long wait. Carp fillet and Gordon Bleu with side dishes was very tasty. Therefore 5 stars for the kitchen. After eating we had to wait a long time for service. We asked for the menu to order dessert, which was not brought to us, even though the waitress walked past our table a few times. We sat there for 1.5 hours with only one drink because no one was able to ask. After 1.5 hours a waitress came to collect even though we didn't ask for it! When paying we kindly pointed out the problems (really friendly), the waitress said: that's just the way it is. Honestly, that was an absolute no go today!

The food and service were both really good - but it is EXTREMELY loud in the place. Low ceilings and no (visible) sound absorbers or similar. If you don't want to have a conversation, it's definitely a good choice, otherwise it's better to go to another restaurant.
