Table reservations are absolutely necessary. We received a very friendly welcome. The staff immediately brought us the menu to our table and shortly after took our drink orders. The menu offers a huge selection of food and drinks, and we quickly found what we were looking for. The staff was very busy, yet incredibly efficient. They were very organized, and everyone knew exactly what to do. The team worked together wonderfully and their timing was perfect. The portions are huge, freshly prepared, and delicious. The prices are truly unbeatable. Any restaurant or pub that can boast such a perfect team can be very proud. For us, it's an absolute hidden gem and definitely worth a return visit. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The restaurant was mostly empty, and we were rudely turned away without a reservation. "Without a reservation, I don't have a table." No "I'm sorry," no "60 minutes is enough for you." The staff were very rude. There are cities with more restaurants where customer satisfaction still means something.

The insider tip "Green Cucumber" was a shame. The ambiance was fine as always for a garden pub, but two years ago when we were here, the food was delicious. But today, no, help, no. The service was carelessly presented, and the fries were soaked with oil, old, and inedible. The salad, which was actually included, was also missing. The beer was on tap, but not very fizzy. All in all, a disaster. The good chef is probably no longer there, because they advertise for a chef, even on the menu. A shame. The only positive point was the friendly service.

The service is fast, attentive, and very courteous – just as you would expect. The dishes are deliciously seasoned, whether meat, fish, or classic German cuisine. You can tell that the food is fresh and prepared with quality. Absolutely everything we've tried so far has been excellent. Be sure to come hungry – the portions are generous! Particularly worth mentioning: - Freshly tapped beer - Very good parking (plenty of free parking spaces right next to the restaurant) - Fast-cooked food with no long waits In our opinion, making a reservation is highly recommended, as the restaurant is very busy. Based on its appearance, we would never have set foot in here. But the reviews convinced us. Yes, the ambiance is definitely not our taste, but it fits the theme. The service is truly excellent, always with a friendly smile. We were there on a Thursday lunchtime. The place was packed. Guests who came after us were sent home. We were informed on site that it would take a little longer, as there was only one chef on site. There were six of us and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The portion sizes are insane, and that's for the price. If you want a decent schnitzel that's really thin and cooked in a soufflé, this is the place for you. The hunter's and gypsy schnitzel are highly recommended. The sauces were excellent. Kudos to the kitchen team! We will definitely recommend you to others.

Rustic ambiance. Mostly large portions. Reasonable price-performance ratio. Today's beef roulade was a bit small, and the sauce wasn't quite enough. The liver was thin and therefore too dry. The flavor, however, was excellent. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't thank us for a €12 tip.

I can unconditionally recommend this restaurant. A rustic touch with charm. The food was good, with a very large selection. If you don't find anything tasty there, it's your own fault.

We were here at the Grüne Gurke last night. This small but lovely restaurant was very busy, and we had made a reservation, which is definitely recommended, otherwise it's almost impossible to get a seat. The portions are very large, delicious, fresh, and perfectly adequate. You'll have to wait a bit, but that's perfectly fine. The menu includes various schnitzel dishes and German home-style cooking, as well as a children's menu. The service was very friendly and quick with orders. We simply say it's highly recommended!!! Based on recommendations from former residents of Wernigerode, we tried it on vacation, and what can I say? ☆ 20/5 stars ☆ Quaint little place, The staff are super personable, friendly, and cheerful. We spontaneously found a place to eat there, even when the place was full. The food is incredibly good and delicious. We went there several times during our vacation. After a long hike, it's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a meal ;) We will definitely stop there again on our next stay in the Harz Mountains!

Many thanks also to the great service (the young man with the braided hair), very entertaining and attentive; we felt very well looked after. Absolutely excellent value for money!

Very bad food. The children's food was cold, sauce was served from the next table, and we waited 1.5 hours for it. No seasoning, fries were reheated twice and were greasy. The waiter casually drank beer in front of the customers. It's a shame we went there often and enjoyed it, but now we don't go anymore. Back then, it was very nice and reasonably priced. But for €20, there are better restaurants in Wernigerode where the food is also freshly cooked. The salad is always top-notch.

Whenever we're in the Harz Mountains, we always go here. The tastiest and biggest schnitzels for miles around...friendly service...anyone complaining here should go to a posh restaurant and stop writing stupid reviews.

It doesn't get any better than this. A rustic ambiance with GDR charm (which is also reflected in the menu), large portions, good taste, and fair prices. Authentic, friendly service, a large green area with play areas for children. Here, you can not only eat, but also linger for a while. Despite the ample space, the noise level (at least outside) is manageable, and normal conversation is possible at any time. To round things off, there's a decent amount of parking, which is no problem either. One drawback: Reservations are required. Anyone who's been there knows why.

We went back two days later. It was clearly noticeable that the staff had had enough. From behind the bar, a surly woman called out to us, asking what we wanted. There were quite a few empty tables, but we were allowed to sit next to someone who was waiting for their order. In the end, we only had drinks. Paying by card was no longer possible. We left money on the counter. There was no way to say hello. Such a shame. The positive initial experience has suffered a significant setback. The food was very good. But this last experience certainly doesn't encourage us to return.
