Groschen Keller in Berlin - Telefonnummer, Reservierungen, Bewertungen

I'm from Düsseldorf and wanted to go to the Groschenkeller today and had personally reserved a table outside yesterday. Arrived at the appropriate time today and suddenly it was said that we would be late and that we could only sit inside in the stuffy interior or not at all. I have never experienced such poor service and treatment of customers. Didn't even suggest a solution except indoors. You may no longer need it!

We had a great dinner, very courteous service, delicious food and sat very comfortably on the terrace Update August 19, 2024 Despite a reservation for three people made the day before (table on the terrace), we were more or less turned away and directed to a table inside!!! Very disappointing, especially a shame for my friends' long journey!!!

We are Bärliners and live on the Lauenburg Lake District. Opposite is the Groschenkeller. Despite good competitors nearby, the restaurant is the best in the neighborhood for my magic mouse and me. Since no one is perfect, I would like a bitter beer wish.To the team: Keep it up!!!

We come here at least once a month for schnitzel on Monday. Unbeatable value for money! And super delicious. But the predominantly German cuisine is also highly recommended on other days. Yummy ! Many thanks to the entire team. You are great

Cabbage roulade is reminiscent of old times and Heini Holl - Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn are also amazing!!! Danger of repetition Hahaha... Service also very ❤️ warm, familiar...

Eat like your mother eats. Finally a restaurant with predominantly local cuisine. The price-performance ratio is right. Very nice waitresses.

Birthday party was great... the food was very tasty... I couldn't manage very large portions but the person sitting next to me had no problems. 😉😉

Very nicely decorated restaurant and great food. Only the service left a lot to be desired on several occasions: once we waited about an hour for the schnitzel, even though the shop wasn't full. When we politely inquired about it, we were dismissed with a "yes, yes." Another time in December, at lunchtime, I asked if I could order a goose to pick up in the evening, depending on the time of business. Unfortunately it was impossible. If my money isn't wanted there, then I'd be happy to go somewhere else...

Classic Berlin dishes with a creative twist. It was very tasty and the portions were filling. The price, like everywhere else today, is a little more than a dime.

That was really tasty, luckily I ended up here hungry. Actually, I just wanted to fill myself up, but then I was surprised with some really great dishes. There are many delicious dishes on the menu, there should be something for everyone. Apparently everything is freshly prepared - and very good and tasty. A great choice at very reasonable prices and with very nice and attentive service. Glad I was here.

We are here for the first time today and are positively surprised, delicious food, nice service at reasonable prices. Mustard schnitzel and cheese spaetzle are recommended. Definitely coming back!

A very cosy old Berlin place in a green area. Atmosphere top. We went there because of all the good reviews and I have to say in advance that the food was also very good. The service though was very very very slow. Not sure what went wrong on the day of our visit, but we were waiting for 1 hour for our appetizers. And the another on hour after we finished eating to someone come and take away our plates and so we can pay. We wanted to order dessert, but after one hour waiting without anyone even checking on the guests ( we were on terrace and there were other guests also) it was already too much, and we decided to just pay and leave. Food was very good and I will give it another try. We also received and apology and even a free beer for the waiting of an appetizer, but it is really not clear to me why then again to let us wait for sooooo long after meal. Because of all the good reviews I would give this place another chance later, but so far service really brought down the impression

I have known this great Steglitz restaurant since the 70s! Bus stop in front of the door, U+S train not far! Nice, attentive, friendly service quickly serves delicious ordered food!! Digestive walk possible in the park with a small lake next door. You sit outside or inside, but then stairs hinder people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users!! The guest downstairs is compensated by the great furnishings!! It wasn't the last time we were there!!!

100s of schnitzels make their way to the penny cellar every Monday to be laid out on a bed of fried potatoes, wreathed with a colorful bouquet and dressed in golden yellow, and sent to schnitzel heaven by Straffi. What a beautiful death for a schnitzel. Dignified and a paradise for the Carnebale community. There's no better way to end a schnitzel. The only sadness you feel here is the sadness that not every day is a Monday.

The asparagus season has just started. Totally delicious food, very nice service... You can sit comfortably outside and inside. A small but fine selection!!!! Mondays are schnitzel day, very tasty, but if it's full, take your time because everything is made fresh

The service was very careful and friendly. I find the portions a bit sparse. The beetroot as a side dish tasted like nothing. The sauce from the Angus steak was sour and cold. Given the prices, I didn't think it was appropriate that you had to pay for the packaging to take away and pack it yourself

Come in, you'll be served well and the food is a blast! Thank you that in this day and age with new food with all sorts of nonsense, there is still the Groschen Keller with old German cuisine. It is so delicious! The ambience is perfect, the servers/owners who work there are great and the waiter fits in like a glove. Enough Berliners, if you want to eat good, hearty German cuisine, you have to go to the Groschen Keller 👌

There is also an “Alt Berliner Restaurant” with traditional cuisine. Very nice atmosphere, good cuisine, very nice good service! The boulette was homemade and was excellent. The fried potatoes were ok, there's still room for improvement with the Kaiserschmarrn - but it's not a typical Berlin dish either.

The food was great, as was the service. We'd love to come back.

After a long day with an almost empty stomach, I spontaneously stopped here with my husband. Have another delicious meal today and go to surgery tomorrow. It's quaintly cozy. Went for schnitzel today. Very tasty fresh from the pan. Our service was very, very friendly. We felt comfortable and will come back.

The selection is manageable. The taste of the food is okay. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is rustic and cozy.

Tip Top, you really can't go wrong with schnitzel. The salad next to it was fresh and delicious and opinions always differ when it comes to potato salad. I thought it was very tasty and would make it exactly the same way. Some people might like a little more cucumber. The innkeeper, another gentleman from Berlin. Unfortunately, you don't come across this type of scent very often anymore. I felt really good there and I'll go there again. Have a good meal

A quaint old Berlin restaurant with delicious, classic regional dishes at fair prices and decent portions. Service staff are warm and friendly with a friendly smile. Small cozy outdoor terrace. Restaurant in the basement. Difficult access for wheelchair users as there are steps. Lighting a bit cool. We love being there!

Great restaurant, super nice service, the staff there is exceptionally friendly and the service is very good. From the outside it makes a rustic impression, but from the inside it is very lovingly designed. I only went there because a friend recommended it to me, I like to eat here. I wasn't disappointed. I can only highly recommend the schnitzel (especially the mustard schnitzel) in all variations and you should definitely try it. I definitely prefer this restaurant to the Vienna Woods. In terms of price, this restaurant is great, the menu is balanced, not too little, not too much, the in-house chef does his job with love and very professionally. That's how it should be.

We were in the restaurant with 6 people. Very nice service. We had ordered different dishes. The dishes arrived at the table at the same time. Every dish was very good. If you want to eat German cuisine, you should stop by here.

Basically, this restaurant has its own original Berlin charm. However, in today's service-oriented times it is difficult if the waiter doesn't think it's necessary to write down the order and then the wrong food comes to the table. Something like that can always happen, but not even receiving an apology from the service staff is an outrage. This is simply the excuse that someone else's mistake happened. Then blaming others or not even behaving in a collegial manner will completely ruin your stay, so it will probably just be a one-off attempt.

5 stars with conviction! It was my first time at the Penny Cellar and I will definitely come back. We were a large group and everyone was very happy with the food. The service was very personable, attentive and always present. The menu isn't too extensive, but it offered something for every taste. I would describe the portions as generous; you can't get that on every corner anymore. You also don't find that atmosphere very often anymore. I think there is a good team working here who know exactly what they are doing. Price & performance & quality are absolutely the same for me. Thanks for a great meal!

A fine old Berlin restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. We were here with a group (reserved in advance!). The welcome was friendly, warm in the Berlin style, the menu was varied and typically Berlin, the food was very good and the portions were plentiful, the price was completely reasonable. Highly recommend, we will definitely come back. Table reservation is recommended

Gute Hausmannskost, netter Service.Ambiente definitiv mal was anderes. Wir haben uns hier wohl gefühlt. Da das Restaurant im Souterrain liegt muss man um rein zu kommen eine Treppe hinab gehen. Für gehbeeinträchtigte Menschen nicht ganz einfach.

Waren heute das erste Mal hier und sehr,sehr zufrieden, zu empfehlen, Platzresevierung auf jedenfall machen, sehr guter,schneller,Service, Speisen lecker und optisch sehr gut, werden wiederkommen.

Einer der wenigen noch erhaltenen altberliner Eckkneipen. Gutes Essen und gemütliche Atmosphäre. Das Personsl ist locker und immer zu einem Spaß aufgelegt. Montags ist dort Schnitzeltag, d.h. es gibt Schnitzel in allen Variationen aber nichts anderes.

Wie schon so viele Rezensionsschreiber vor mir, schließe ich mich der positiven und eindrucksvollen Bewertungen an. Urig, alt Berliner Restaurantkneipe, mit richtig gutem aufmerksamen sympathischem Bewirtungsteam. Wir waren zur Weihnachtsfeier mit 13 Leuten vor Ort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir mussten nie lange auf etwas warten, sei es auf Getränke oder das Essen.Eine glatte Meisterleistung und weiterer Pluspunkt, 13 unterschiedliche Essensbestellungen standen gleichzeitig auf dem Tisch. Die Größe der Portionen nicht schaffbar, aber sehr lecker. Auch die Preise in der heutigen Teuerungsmaschinerie absolut angemessen. Danke für einen unvergesslichen schönen Abend. Macht weiter so. Ich werde euch auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Sehr frische* & leckere Berliner Küche .. von Meisterhand gekocht Hat uns sehr gefallen. Top , aufmerksamer Service ( 2 Damen ) und Gemütliches Ambiente.. Bissel Wusslig, da recht gut besucht.. Minuspunkt gibt's für das ständig laute Telefon bimmeln im Hintergrund

Lokalität der allerfeinsten Sorte. Wir waren heute das erste Mal hier. An Gemütlichkeit kaum zu übertreffen. Die Bedienung von einer super Freundlichkeit und man fühlte sich gleich herzlich willkommen. Wir waren 8 Personen und jedes der bestellten Gerichte waren ein Gedicht. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.

Ein Besuch auf Empfehlung von Freunden den wir nicht bereuen. Ein richtig uriges Lokal / Restaurant im alt Berliner Stil mit angenehmer Atmosphäre. Sehr nettes und umsichtiges Personal, das einem fast den Wunsch von den Augen abliest. Grünkohl und Pinkel sowie Sauerfleisch und Bratkartoffeln war kaum zu schaffen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen und werden sicher wiederkommen.

Ich habe es gestern endlich geschafft, mit Freunden den Groschenkeller zu besuchen; bin gefühlt schon tausendmal dran vorbei gefahren. Die Bedienung war äußerst nett und herzlich, was den Abend zu einem angenehmen Erlebnis machte. Das Essen war einfach köstlich und bot eine Auswahl an bürgerlichen Gerichten, die meinen Gaumen verwöhnten. Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss und wir konnten die Liebe zum Detail in der Zubereitung schmecken. Die Qualität der Zutaten war spürbar und das reichhaltige Essen wurde frisch und ansprechend serviert. Es gab gutes, frisch gezapftes Bier und zum Abschluss einen Obstbrand aufs Haus. Die Inneneinrichtung des Restaurants war rustikal und gemütlich, was eine warme und einladende Atmosphäre schuf. Die rustikalen Elemente verliehen dem Raum einen charmanten Charakter und ich fühlte mich sofort wohl. Alles in allem war unser Restaurantbesuch ein voller Erfolg. Die nette Bedienung, das köstliche, bürgerliche Essen und die gemütliche Inneneinrichtung haben uns begeistert. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wiederzukommen und weitere kulinarische Köstlichkeiten zu probieren.

Ein tolles Berliner Restaurant mit guter deutscher Küche. Das Restaurant ist urig eingerichtet und das Personal sehr freundlich mit Berliner Charme. Wir hatten Gans und Grünkohl mit Pinkel - sehr lecker! Die Portionen sind sehr großzügig. Für die Reste zum mitnehmen wurde 1€ für die Verpackung berechnet, was ich aber als fair ansehe.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Leute waren freundlich und nett. Die einzige 4 Sterne ist wegen der langsamen Bedienung. Es ist überhaupt nicht dramatisch, aber wir haben mehr als eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet. Ich weiß, dass es sehr viele Leute waren, aber sie haben sich gut um uns gekümmert. Ich freue mich schon darauf, wieder hierher zu kommen.

Wir haben hier einen sehr schönen Abend mit Freunden zum Gänseessen verbracht. Die Atmosphäre und das Ambiente hat uns gut gefallen. Der Service- eine Dame ein Herr- war freundlich und professionell. Das Essen war sehr lecker und eine große Portion: ein großer köstlicher Kartoffelklos, je ein Stück Gänsebrust und Keule, zart und knusprig auf den Punkt. Rotkohl und Grünkohl wurden reichlich in Schalen serviert und auch Soße gab es noch für 8 Personen in drei Saucieren. Anschließend gab es Kaffee und eine gute Auswahl an Obstlern und Bränden. Montag ist Schnitzel Tag. Die Schnitzel sind sehr lecker und dazu die Bratkartoffeln. Reservierung ist besser. Sehr gemütlich.

Ein sehr gemütliches Speiselokal,zentral an der Bushaltestelle Lauenburger Platz gelegen. Das Ambiente im Lokal war sehr heimelig und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Man sollte allerdings bitte einen Tisch vorbestellen. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.
