Previously great, now a flop. Unfortunately, I agree with the previous speakers. The previous owner was always friendly and had the best police team in the area. Unfortunately, with the change of ownership the quality has declined significantly. Unfortunately, it is absolutely incomprehensible to me that the good reviews from the previous owner could simply be adopted.

No longer the same as Sengül. Today I picked up a kebab from the new owner, it was the first and also the last one I bought there.

Personally, I can't recommend the new store. The staff leaves a lot to be desired, the restaurant is tastelessly and carelessly furnished (it was already taken over from its predecessor). The rotisserie spit was turning, but the heating elements were not activated. These were only dressed when the dishes with the meat were prepared. The meat was heavily seasoned. End of song: Shortly afterwards we had diarrhea and stomach problems and it wasn't just from the heavily seasoned meat. One person of us had no meat and also had no diarrhea. Once and never again, hence only 1 star.

Were there on August 13th, 2024 for the first time after the change of ownership...the guy was very taciturn and totally overwhelmed!!! It felt like I had to repeat a thousand times what should and shouldn't be on it. Behind us there was a queue of 7 people... the young gentleman behind us was asked what he wanted, a tuna salad, instead of finishing the salad, he watched the skewer turn until the meat was ready, it took 40 minutes We stood in the store until we could take our order and then he tore the cash register to the floor while paying... something like that would never have happened at Sengül. Service was subpar and the food at home was also subpar, the Lahmacun's could be used as a Frisbee and the contents were generally disgusting and rancid. Not recommended - 10 stars.

Unfortunately, the shop can no longer be recommended, I was there two days ago, the new owner greeted me with a cell phone in his hand, and there was a half-hearted "Pretty please?" And look back at the cell phone. Not exactly friendly. That's not so bad, but the kebab pie was out!!! At least 5-8 flies were sitting on the spit at 30 degrees and I lost my appetite. In my opinion, the guy has no idea about gastronomy.

Grillhaus Sengül has always served me the best kebab for the last 25 years. Now I wanted to give the new owner a chance, but I noticed the flies ON the kebab skewer from outside. No thanks! And if I read the other reviews here, we can definitely hope for another new owner soon ;)

It doesn't taste good anymore. Previous owner was TOP. Now disaster. The meat was dry, the kebab was very thinly topped. Lettuce brown edges. The employee hardly speaks and seems very unfriendly. A pity…

Been a regular customer for over 20 years, until the change of ownership it was the best kebab in Bockum-Hövel! Just bad after the change 🤮 Meat, bread... I would say that I have never eaten such a bad kebab as I did at Star-Döner The good reviews are still from the old owner Sengül! Star Döner has only bad reviews so far!

Today noticed that there is a new owner in there. We bought 3 kebabs there, unfortunately it was a complete disaster. Meat (what you can call meat) totally over-seasoned, dry and crumbly. The salad that was on it tasted like it had been in the salad bar for 3 days. Not twice sorry. Sengül was simply worlds better

I was really disappointed. The meat was hardly seasoned, it was a typical run-of-the-mill kebab and you couldn't follow the simplest instructions. It said NO tzatzikki, but it did say cocktail sauce. The absolute opposite happened. A colleague had a pide and complained about the dry dough. When I was allowed to read the note that the supplier still had from the phone call, it became clear to me why simple instructions were not being implemented. Cryptic abbreviations that no one understands and are even spelled incorrectly. Veal is Klab there and chicken is HE there, cocktail sauce is KO and we haven't figured out what K means. I can't recommend it, I didn't feel well afterwards either. For a long time I felt like I had to break.

Not a worthy successor to Sengül. The gentleman behind the counter is visibly overwhelmed. The level of the kebab grill was not increased, although the chicken sold significantly better than the veal.

Sengül was already so-so, but what's in there now I can only say stay away from the store...never again! I feel sick 🤮

My review refers to Sengül Döner!!!!! We went to the Grillhaus for the first time last night. We were greeted friendly. We sat down at a table and the waitress came to us. We ordered a police salad. My wife and I ordered another kebab plate. I ordered my kebab with tzatziki and my wife with cocktail sauce. It didn't take long before our food arrived. Everything was freshly prepared. The police salad was really tasty. And of course our kebab plates too 😊. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. The kebab meat was so delicious. And super fresh. Price-performance ratio is definitely right. We will be back definitely. Thanks for the great food.

Dry meat and the taste is no longer our thing. Things were much better back then. We had the same comment from 5 people that evening: the meat tasted terrible and dry. It was really crumbly. Maybe that's how it is on a Sunday evening. I was there once. It's just not what it used to be. A pity. Service wasn't that friendly either.

This is without a doubt the uncrowned king of dumplings. The meat is of incredibly high quality. I come from Dortmund 2-3 times a month because there is nothing comparable there. Keep it up and see you next time! Update August 2022 Everything is still the same. The same high-quality meat and the boss continues to put his heart and soul into it. My absolute favorite snack 💯👍 Update February 2024 Abbas is still the king. The quality is the same and everything else is the same. Fresh food, at fair prices. Update May 2024 Obviously new owners, who unfortunately can't even begin to hold a candle to the previous owner.

Now to Stardöner The food and service are sublime. All I can think of about the store is that it will hopefully be closed soon. I had a kebab plate with rice. Rice came cold from the fridge. Meat was being refilled as another customer was being served before me. Aside from the fact that the meat was far dry, it was also lukewarm. Sauce was not asked for and was forgotten. The store is an absolute disaster. And then the reviews here are taken from the previous owner. People stay away from the store. 0 stars, actually you should give minus stars

Previously great under the old owner. Everything was always clean, the boss was very friendly, the food was good and you could see that the boss cared about the preparation. The meat was homemade... Now there's probably a new owner and unfortunately it's the complete opposite! It's a shame that the old Sengül no longer exists after so many years.

Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared for there to be a new owner. My police salad was far from good! Firstly, the portion is only about half as large as usual, then the composition of the salad is different (there are no spring onions or similar) and there was almost no sheep's cheese removed, only exactly 6 grams of sheep's cheese! It was actually exactly 1/4 of these round slices of sheep's cheese, less than half a cm thick. The yoghurt sauce was bland, the kebab meat was chopped up like minced meat and dry, the tomato sauce was way too spicy and the accompanying flatbread was cold. 7.50 euros of police salad was absolutely not justified. Before the change of ownership a few weeks ago, this was by far the best kebab and the other specialties were also great! Now every other kebab is better 😔.

Almost 3 months ago it was still tasty, but I think after the owner changed, the new one changed everything completely. We actually wanted to have Iskender Kebap, but then we got quark, meat with tomato curd with a bit of chili or something similar. I went back again to ask if that was true. Owner says yes. I'll drive home angry and throw it away. The only ones who feel comfortable are the flies

We pre-ordered food there last night and the woman on the phone sounded pretty overwhelmed. When we arrived we noticed that the owner had apparently changed. Have been super happy with Sengül for years. This was definitely our last visit to the new owners. The food was wrong, completely cold and the meat, which had been made by the previous owner for years, was no longer the same...just dry and disgusting...never again!

The new owner is not GOOD! Sengül please come back. I'm super emotional about this decision to give up the store. :(

Were regular customers until now... Not anymore from today... fries roasted in the pan... the otherwise deliciously prepared police salad was just slapped into the aluminum bowl today... pseudo lettuce strips and tomato cucumber... the sauces not together but distributed in the corners....very appetizing (irony)...the meat at first is not juicy but dry..That's how you lose customers.

Unfortunately the portions are very small for a lot of money. The new owners are not prepared at all and don't know how to prepare a dish. Pity . The previous owner was better

I always ate there with the previous owner but since new faces have been there it's no longer the same as before. Pre-orders are completely the opposite of what you ordered. I'm very disappointed and hungry. I'll ask if it's the same owner. If not, it's no longer recommended value

Wir holen uns hier immer den Polizeiteller. Der ist der Hammer. Gibt es auch nirgendwo anders. Ich hoffe er bleibt uns noch lange erhalten. Aber alles andere ist auch bestens. Er macht immer alles frisch und selber.

Ich habe zu meinem Geburtstag für 12 Personen Kebab mit Brot ,Pommes ,Krautsalat ,Bauernsalat und grünen Salat bestellt. Dazu gab es 3verschiedene Sossen .Ein Traum in Tüten. Das Essen kam pünktlich zur bestellten Zeit .Und es wurde im warmhalte Pfannen geliefert. Meine Gäste waren genauso begeistert wie ich .Vielen lieben Dank dafür..

Schmeckt immer gut. Sehr nett . Schon lange Stammgast hier. Man kann telefonisch vorbestellen. Preise sind gut, trotz Inflation.

Super sympathisch, sehr leckeres besonderes Fleisch was man so nirgends sonst bekommt. Einer der besten Döner die ich kenne.

Hier wird der Döner noch selbst hergestellt - und das schmeckt man! Keine Massenware vom Großhändler, sondern frisches Fleisch von guter Qualität. Alle Speisen sind sehr lecker und der Preis stimmt auch. Die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich und hat immer einen lockeren Spruch auf den Lippen. Obwohl alles mit viel Sorgfalt zubereitet wird muss man nie lange warten. Rundum eine Empfehlung!
