Grillhaus "Schussen" in Friedrichshafen

A restaurant located on a car ferry docked on land. The seating is simple, and the restaurant's open-plan design makes it best to visit in good weather. The food was delicious.

You don't really need it. The food wasn't particularly digestible, and it wasn't warm either. Given the long wait, I would have expected something better. The beer was good, the location was fun, and the prices were reasonable... Once is enough.

The ambiance in the restaurant is truly beautiful – tastefully decorated and cozy. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to that. I ordered a "Hunter's Style" schnitzel. It looked promising at first, but the first bite was disappointing: The schnitzel was dry and tough, barely edible. The mushroom sauce tasted strongly of canned food, with an unpleasantly sour aftertaste, and the mushrooms themselves lacked flavor. Overall, a disappointing dining experience. The beautiful ambiance alone isn't enough – I definitely can't recommend the food.

Today we went out to eat for the second time in a year. We sat outside and had a really nice view of the harbor and Lake Constance. However, the kitchen window was right next to us. We could easily hear our food coming out of the microwave (you could always hear the typical ping). The service always tried to be friendly, but it didn't come across that way. The food was really just made from ready-made products. The sauce wasn't even hot. Only after asking were we brought ketchup and mayo. Unfortunately, it's a real shame. The worst part is that the price-performance ratio is really not right. Far too expensive. They could really do more outside.

A disaster! Never again!!! 1 star is too much. The schnitzel had probably been in the freezer for 1-2 years. The fries came with green potatoes. What a shame, considering the money. Please check the amount. Of course, there was no bill.

Schnitzel is ready-made from the refrigerated section, the champignon sauce tastes sour and lemony, and the beer isn't the wheat beer you ordered. Thanks for that.

That was a sentence with an X. Schnitzel was okay. Fries weren't so great. Maybe the oil was old? I don't know. The salad didn't get a drop of dressing and was accordingly bland. Cream sauce from a packet. Service? I don't know. Barely saw anyone, even though there was nothing going on. Atmosphere: Construction site. If you like that. View of the small harbor is okay. I have no idea where this got an overall rating of 4.5.

A grill house with very good value for money. Very tasty food and large portions. Very friendly staff (for example, Anja & Moo), something the owner can be proud of. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

The spicy burger with rösti toppings was delicious and plentiful, the prices were fair, and the ambiance, with its evening atmosphere and view of the Alpine panorama over the marina, was a real highlight. Mo, the waiter, was very friendly and accommodating.

For the price (€12.50) for the XXL currywurst, it's absolutely reasonable. You walk from the parking garage past the crowded restaurants and find the grill house in a quiet (off-the-beaten-path) location. It has a beautiful view of the harbor and a very peaceful setting. The waitress, Mo, was very friendly and accommodating. I'd definitely go back. :)

Unfortunately, the construction work has pushed it a bit out of the way. Excellent cuisine.

Unfortunately, the food can only be described as poor: the schnitzel was very thin, the spaetzle was overcooked, and the side salad was brown. My wife's chicken was oversalted. At the end, I had to ask if I could pay by card, and the answer was, "I'll see." The best part came at the end, when I was asked if I didn't want to leave a tip. This hasn't happened to me in over 60 years. So, in my opinion, I don't recommend this restaurant.

After arriving in Friedrichshafen we were looking for a cozy restaurant in the evening. The first thing we came across was the grill house. Unfortunately it was only possible to sit outside that evening. However, since it was too cold, we wanted to move on. The nice waiter Mo then offered us a nice warm place. We were very satisfied, had a great view of the lake and the food was also very tasty.

The food was good. Wienerschnitzel, beef skewer, normal and spicy burgers. Price/performance is right, only the service could be a little more attentive/faster.

It's a miracle that no one got food poisoning. Plus everything was overpriced. There were dozens of woodlice on the floor of the toilets.

The sauce that came with it was a typical ready-made sauce - artificial, watery and without any seasoning. The spaetzle? Clearly out of the package, overcooked, mushy and simply unpleasant in taste. What makes things even worse is that the prices bear absolutely no relation to the quality. To charge so much for a dish that is obviously made from ready-made products is simply cheeky. We would have expected honest, home-made cuisine from a grill house. Instead we got a loveless ready meal at an exorbitant price. Very disappointing - we definitely won't be coming back.

Right on the harbor promenade in Friedrichshafen, in a decommissioned steamer, you can sit comfortably and enjoy good food at fair prices. The views of the boats and the pier tower are wonderful.

We ate two dishes, a burger and a salad plate with chicken strips. The burger was okay. Unfortunately the salad platter was frozen. The food came so quickly that it wasn't possible to prepare it so quickly. I was hungrily disappointed and went home €48.90 poorer. 😭😭😭😭

The tables were dirty and were only cleaned when requested. The ashtray was full of smoke and was not removed from the table (only after being asked). The boat from the outside looks like it's made of dirt. The service was very unfriendly to the guests.

Nice location. Prompt and friendly service. Schnitzel with potato salad might not have been the best choice. A dry meat fried to death and a ready-made potato salad from the bucket garnished with iceberg strips. Visually, the schnitzel overflows the edge of the plate. The price was too high for me. Nice shop by the lake with good food right near the ferries. I'm not coming anymore because the Friedrichshafen city bus doesn't work. Since I basically have to walk from the train station, I have significantly less than half an hour. And just quick, quick and choking down the food in 15 minutes is too bad for that. Maybe I'll take a trip there just to eat, but on the way the DB and the Friedrichshafen public utilities are doing everything they can to ensure that you don't eat anything in Friedrichshafen anymore.

Very hospitable, good down-to-earth food at a good price. What pleasantly surprised us as a group was that after two days of another visit we still remembered everything. We felt comfortable, very well looked after and very well fed.

Finally open again since May 9th. After the kitchen fire in the summer of '23, Naveed built a nice wooden structure on the deck! UPPER DECK WITH SEA VIEWS and 2 beautiful terraces below invite you to enjoy a slightly smaller menu. Everything will be fine.

We've been here in Friedrichshafen for a week now, we were there on our first evening and our last and we're totally thrilled. The food is delicious and the price-performance ratio is right. Super nice and friendly service…. The rest of the waterfront promenade can take a big leaf out of this. We will 110% be coming back next year.

Disappointing..... Pictures on the internet don't quite correspond to reality. The food was good, but the service was subpar. If people with allergies/intolerances are not taken seriously, it is simply outrageous and not funny in any way!!!!

Discarded ship right on the water. Casual, quick, delicious, lots of it. Service friendly and on the ball. The Lake Constance burger was very tasty.

Not recommendable. Burger cold. Weird aftertaste. The sour cream was inedible and the peppers tasted slightly rotten.

Not good... We were very disappointed We went there based on the positive reviews but were very disappointed. Food was ok except for the tuna salad, which was carelessly slapped onto the plate with loads of salt and pepper and a touch of balsamic....the young waitress immediately made it clear to us that she doesn't speak German..... After we got the food she didn't show up anymore... Nobody came and asked if everything was OK, then we could have complained about the salad... The food got cold incredibly quickly and was no longer enjoyable... which the other waitress, who we called in out of desperation, explained that it was because we were eating outside and it was cold... And the waitress who was responsible for us was taking a break... Conclusion in this restaurant the guest is not important.

It's delicious and the prices are absolutely right. If we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back

Leider haben wir, eine Gruppe von 15 Personen, nicht die Qualität erfahren, die die Rezensionen und die Preise der Speisekarte vermuten lassen. Einige Steaks wurden im falschen Gargrad geliefert, Beilagen fehlten oder waren falsch geliefert. Wenigstens hat der Kellner die Situation selbst erkannt und eine Runde Schnaps auf das Haus genommen.

Sehr nette aufmerksame Bedienung. Lecker Essen. 😋 Kommen gerne wieder.

Nettes Lokal mit guter Auswahl und fairen Preisen. Ich hätte mir auch Gerichte aus dem Herkunftsland der Betreiber gewünscht, aber was wir gegessen haben war durchweg top. Vor allem der nette Kellner war super freundlich.

Wiederum aus Gründen eines leeren Magens in der Nähe der "Hafenpromenade" in Friedrichshafen geparkt.... fußläufig und mit Rolli Richtung Fähranleger und Mole. Auf dem Weg fiel uns die ehemalige Fähre "Schussen" auf - wobei wir diese nicht unmittelbar so erkannten. Die Gaststätte lag jedoch an der Marina, es waren Plätze frei - also rein..... Wir wollten nur eine Kleinigkeit essen und dieser Wunsch wurde toll erfüllt. Die sehr, sehr freundlichen und schnellen Servicekräfte versorgten uns, nach angemessener Zubereitungszeit mit einer Portion Bruscetti, einer Portion Chicken-Sticks mit Salat und Chicken-Wings mit Pommes(die allein waren schon 5 Sterne wert....). Preis/Leistung absolut grandios👍👍👍 Jederzeit wieder gerne👍

Das Essen war wirklich lecker, noch besser hat mir der Service gefallen. Wirklich eine sehr nette Dame die einem die Tagesspezialitäten empfiehlt. Die Toiletten sind blos für kleine Menschen. (Niedrige Decke)

Tische sehr sauber, die Bedienungen waren äußerst freundlich und schnell. Das wars aber auch. Wir haben dort zwei Eisbecher bestellt - selten so einen kleinen Eisbecher gesehen und noch nie so schlechtes Eis gegessen….uns sieht man nicht wieder.

Tolle Auswahl an Gerichten, die wir problemlos individuell abändern durften. Der Service war unglaublich zuvorkommend und das Essen war richtig lecker. Der Ausblick ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Ich würde dort auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen!

De eerste keer dat we hier aten, raadde de serveerster ons de vleesspiezen aan voor twee personen. Heerlijke verschillende soorten vlees met frites, saus en sla. De tweede keer hadden we biefstukreepjes met uien en paprika. Ook superlekker

Meine Frau und ich haben dort Burger gegessen. Burger waren lecker, Beilagen auch. Bedienung war nett und essen wurde zeitnah gebracht. Alles in allem Preis-Leistung völlig in Ordnung.
