Very tasty food, friendly service.

The service was nice. The food seemed like it was pre-cooked because there was so much going on. The taste is bland and boring. Surprising because it was significantly better on the last visit. First of all, I won't be coming back. What a shame!

The food was good and plentiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. The prices were OK. The restaurant was very busy when we visited. Be sure to reserve. The temperature in the restaurant was borderline high. But we will definitely stop by again.

We were there at lunchtime. It was crowded and quite loud. But food came quickly and was hot. Vegetables were crunchy, rice and duck with terriyaki were ok. Friendly service.

I would say it’s really hard to find good asian restaurants in Hamburg but this is one! The staff are also really nice.

For the 3rd time at Green Papaya Altona. The food was ready quickly, but I would have expected more from a curry (almost only carrots and peppers, but 15 euros was definitely too much). The service leaves a lot to be desired. If you pay with cash, you will be asked how much you would like to tip.

The food is very tasty and the portions are generous. The service is also very attentive. Unfortunately it's not very comfortable there because it's very loud.

We were there on a Monday around 5:40 p.m. and got one of the last free tables - so we recommend making a reservation. The summer rolls and the wonton soup are highly recommended as starters! Ducks for the main course made the meal perfect. It was not badly fried, deliciously fresh and crispy. The homemade lemonade is also recommended. Absolutely within the price range.

Mitten in Altona liegt das Green Papaya , man kann auch draußen sitzen , innen ist es groß, aber auch laut gewesen, das Restaurant war voll , wir waren gehen Abend da ! Der Service war sehr freundlich und das Essen sehr lecker ! Kommen gerne nochmal wieder, vielleicht zu einer anderen Zeit und es ist nicht so voll ! Aber ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen, preis Leistung war auch in Ordnung

Very tasty and super nice staff and perfect for lunch

We are loyal customers for more than 10 years now. The food is great, prices are kept decent. My favorite is duck in all its forms and Basilikum Pesto dishes.

There is very tasty Asian food here. There were three of us and we all ate really well. The selection is very large and you can order many different dishes. I had the grilled beef, sweet potatoes and vegetables. The beef was very well fried and the vegetables were also crunchy and tasty, as were the potatoes. The sauce rounded off the dish perfectly and the meal was a really nice taste experience. My two companions also enjoyed the food very much. The service was quite good. They were all very friendly and smiling. The only small drawback is that they didn't understand us very well, but otherwise everything was fine. I found the atmosphere very nice. There was a nice atmosphere and you felt comfortable. All in all, I can only recommend it here. It's worth it

Very tasty Vietnamese food. I always enjoy going to Green Papaya and enjoy the Red Chicken Rise Bowl every time! Simply a pleasure.

Ideal for eating quickly, however it is clearly not the best quality of cuisine available.

I guess it was a coincidence, but the mango in the salmon was rock hard and unripe and in the coconut soup there was 1 carrot and otherwise only peppers, a bit poor given the increased prices. The ambience is ok, the service too. When criticism comes, excuses come and not even apologies. But without the competition You probably don't have to try so hard around the corner. A pity At least we ate better there

Unfortunately it didn't taste good. The shop used to be better and it used to taste good. Now unfortunately it's no longer the pho with beef. It only tastes like water, sorry I won't be back

Food tastes good, vegetarian selection is comparatively small. It's very loud, service could be a little more attentive.

Okay lunch at Hamburg prices. Identical portions are available elsewhere for half the price. (Location, location, location...!) My blackhead found it a bit bland and unseasoned. I would go again: nice service with a feel-good place.

Quick, very tasty food. Even at 10 p.m.!

I've been going to Green Papaya for a while and have tried different dishes there. All very tasty. The salmon sashimi melts in your mouth and there are delicious soups for the cold days. But number 80, Beef Beef Brasil (spicy) is awesome! Sweet, sour, salty, spicy - just finger-licking! My friend is a vegetarian and can always find something here. The service is attentive, quick and friendly. It's always busy but you can often get a table spontaneously.

Green Papaya is the place to eat good sushi for a fair price. There you will find a large selection of different types and fillings. From simple Kappa Maki to extravagant tempura and inside out rolls, there is something for everyone! And don't forget the non-alcoholic cocktails, very refreshing with fresh mint and fruit. We have only had good experiences with the service, always a welcome smile on our faces. However, on Fridays and weekends it can get very busy in the evenings, so it is advisable to call ahead to reserve a table!

We spontaneously went to Green Papaya and it was outstanding! First of all: you should spontaneously make a reservation on the weekend or be really lucky. We had the latter. The portions are really big and a starter wouldn't have been necessary. The taste is also really delicious. We'd love to come back!

Super fast and friendly service. The “Chunky Salmon” dish is highly recommended. The kitchen was very quick, even though the restaurant was busy. You can sit both indoors and outdoors. The sweet potato fries and grilled salmon medium with rice noodles were also very tasty. I can highly recommend a visit to Green Papaya.

Good selection on the menu and very tasty food

Every time we are in Hamburg the restaurant is a must. Unbeatably delicious food, super freshly prepared, huge portions and everything tastes great. This time we even went there twice because it was just so delicious! ;-)

I met here with some colleagues after work and had the yellow chicken as I didn't dare to try the red (very hot!) one. It was fantastic! I will definitely come back and try the red one too🙂

Super nice vietnamese. The rice noodles were the best but we also loved the curry. The lunch prices are very fair around 10 to 15€! Highly recommend also for vegetarian!

Super tasty food. Price/performance unbeatable, if you go there at lunchtime. We always come to visit when we are HH. I do have one point of criticism, however. It would be great and advisable not to leave the ends of the summer rolls open, because when you eat them, everything oozes out the back when you bite into them. We know that the ends of the roll are closed/folded in and you can easily enjoy them as finger food. I could only eat it with a knife and fork because it fell apart after the first bite. It would be nice if this could be changed for the future, also with a view to other guests who like summer roles. V G from Cologne

We had reserved a table at Green Papaya in Ottensen at 5 p.m. When we were brought to the table, the waiter immediately informed us that we were “allowed” to stay seated until 6:30 p.m., after which the table would be reserved again. At 6:20 p.m. the waiter actually came to collect, as the table was reserved again from 6:30 p.m. The guests at the next table experienced the same thing. It's a shame because we really enjoyed the food and the prices were okay. It's also a shame for the operator, because we would have liked to have ordered dessert, coffee or another drink... there wasn't enough time for that. We find this to be very poor service and that's why we don't go there anymore.

We spontaneously went there for dinner and didn't know the place. We were very satisfied, deliciously prepared. The atmosphere is great. Waiter friendly. We'll definitely come back.

Fantastic restaurant. Great food for the price, and nice quick service

The food was very good, but the service was subpar. The two of us were seated at a table for four. After the starter we were seated at another table because a group of 4 people were coming. But it didn't come until we paid. It took three quarters of an hour until then. Instead, two women were seated at the table, and the two of them stayed until we left the restaurant and were served their main course. I asked the waitress who had transferred us about it, but she didn't remember us... turned around and went to other guests.

It's been ages since I finally found a shop where everything was right. The food is absolutely amazing, the price is also totally right because the quantity you get is great 👍. I definitely recommend trying this place out. We will definitely come back and recommend your store. THANK YOU 😊

First of all, to the location, they did a wonderful job and you feel really comfortable. The food looked visually appealing, but I ordered rice and got rice noodles, which I unfortunately don't like. They then gave me a plate of rice free of charge. But then I had to move everything from one plate to the other, which is of course annoying as a customer and not my responsibility! The chicken was very good but the rest wasn't my thing, it could be because I simply received the wrong thing that wasn't ordered.

Das Essen ist echt lecker, drei Servicemitarbeiter taten ihr bestes Um alle Bestellungen zu erfüllen, starters gingen echt fix aber Hauptgericht zog sich etwas. . Ich finds manchmal n bißchen kalt wegen der Riesentür und wenn man Pech hat mit dem Sitzplatz und dem Wind... Aber heu... Alles zu verkraften fuer das Essen, aber ich muss sagen die Sitze sind zu eng und fuer mich ist es zu laut fuer Gemütlichkeit.. Liegt aber glaube ich daran das der Laden so beliebt ist, haben ja auch ne Menge veggie Gerichte auf der Karte.

In jedem Fall zu empfehlen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und super schnell am Tisch. Über das Ambiente kann man sich streiten, die Drinks sind aber auch erstklassig. Preis-Leistung ist top!

Das Restaurant Green Papaya in Hamburg Ottensen hat meine kulinarischen Erwartungen übertroffen. Die vielfältige Auswahl an authentisch zubereiteten asiatischen Gerichten begeisterte mich. Die Frische der Zutaten und die tolle Kombination der Aromen machen jedes Gericht zu einem Geschmackserlebnis. Das freundliche Personal und die gemütliche Atmosphäre tragen zu einem rundum gelungenen Restaurantbesuch bei. Green Papaya ist definitiv eine Empfehlung wert für alle, die asiatische Küche in höchster Qualität genießen möchten. Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Pho Suppe oder auch das gelbe Curry 👍

Just hit up this Asian joint for the first time and, man, the food was on point! The fried chicken was a game changer - crispy, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The sauces? Aromatic and tasty, they really elevated the dish. The ambiance was pretty chill, nothing fancy. But the food? Totally worth it. You gotta check this place out! 👍

Its a chain seen in several locations in Hamburg. We went to the Altona location. Its menu is a variety of Asian dishes. We stuck to the Sushi combinations that included miso soup and a variety of sushi and maki. It was fresh and tasty and very generous portions.

Wow. Großartig, sehr köstlich. Schöne Schärfe, Gerichte frisch zubereitet. Ich hatte die Sommerrollen und das Bun Hoi An mit Lachs. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen.

ein bisschen zu hip, die 80er jahre klassiker im hintergrund etwas zu laut, der kellner etwas zu gezwungen freundlich und das rindfleisch etwas zäh... ich werde es noch ein zweites mal probieren, ob das vielleicht ein ausrutscher war, denn ansonsten war es ansich lecker

Wir wollten etwas neues ausprobieren und haben ohne Reservierung um 18 Uhr am Samstag noch einen Tisch bekommen. Ich habe den Lachs-Salat gewählt , mit Rucola, Paprikastreifen, Mango, Tomaten. Meine Freundin den Crunchy Lachs. Das Essen kam recht schnell.Mein Lachs war noch halb roh, ok, hätte ich vllt vorher sagen sollen, aber der Salat bestand zu 70% nur aus Mangostreifen, 2 Blättchen!! Rucola, 2 Cocktailtomaten und ein paar Streifen Paprika. Wäre das Lachsstück jetzt noch groß gewesen..... aber für ein kl. Stück Lachs mit einer halben Mango (teilw. nicht ganz reif) 13,90€ zu verlangen ist eindeutig zu viel. Auf meine Anmerkung, dass dies kein Salat mit Rucola etc war sondern fast nur Mango, hat der Kellner, wegen schlechter Deutschkenntnisse, leider nicht reagiert. Das Gericht Crispy Lachs, der Lachs war zwar nicht crispy, war ansonsten gut.

The first time here I was amused. But the second one was a big disappointment. Food was not good at all. Quite hectic pieces, half of onion in the middle, rice is floating in water from vegetables. I couldn't finish my meal. The entire time a child was screaming on top of his lungs 30 cm from me and staff didn't try to do anything about it. It's very difficult to relax and have a nice dinner when the howling is so close to your ear for 40 minutes. Don't recommend and won't return.

Sehr leckeres Essen, großzügige Portionen.

Der Laden brummt. Das liegt gewiss am Essen, man bekommt es schnell serviert, ich hatte die Special Duck vom Grill mit Pilzen, sehr leckere Sauce und die Ente rosa gebraten. Es war eine recht grosse Portion, gut dass wir keine Vorspeisen hatten. Das Restaurant ist nichts für lange romantische Abende, aber um schnell sehr gut zu essen, ist das Lokal sehr zu empfehlen.

Der Laden in Ottensen wirkt einladend und ist mit sehr ansprechendem Design ausgestattet. Der Laden war voll und recht laut. Mein Lachs Teriyaki war sehr geschmackvoll und sehr hübsch angerichtet auf dem Teller. Die Portion für mich genau richtig.👍🏼 Für meinen Vater wäre sie zu klein gewesen.;) Insgesamt gibt es in Hamburg wohl drei Filialen. Für mich ein sehr stimmiges Konzept.

Herzensempfehlung - super frisch & sehr lecker! Zum Mittag & abends mit nettem Service & kaum bis keiner Wartezeit

15,- € für ein Curry mit Hähnchen ist schon echt nicht günstig und wenn das Curry hauptsächlich aus Soße und harten Möhren besteht, ist das eine Frechheit. Dazu gab es eine winzig kleine Portion Reis, eine wirklich sehr kleine Portion. Der Geschmack war in Ordnung, es war aber nichts besonderes, sehr einfallslos und lieblos. Das schlimmste allerdings war, als ich mich beschwert hatte, wurde mein Anliegen einfach weggelacht und in keiner Sekunde ernst genommen, schade. Sehr unprofessionell.

Essen bewegt sich nicht auf hohem Niveau, für den kleinen Hunger zwischendurch aber ganz okay. Nicht ganz so sauber, aber noch in Ordnung

Die Karte bietet eine große Auswahl und alles was wir bisher probiert haben war richtig lecker! Bestellung und Service ist auf "zack", teilweise gab es Missverständnisse (daher 1 Stern Abzug) und es wurde nicht das geliefert was bestellt wurde. Das war trotzdem lecker.

The starters were good, deep fried spring roll and summer rolls are yummy. Pho....there's a problem. But the staff solved ''the problem'' immediately so everything was good afterwards. The service was friendly.

Super Leckeres Sushi in ansprechendem Ambiente. Wir waren durch Zufall hier und waren sehr begeistert! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Like in any chain, some standards are to be followed and one knows just what to have; the extras come with aspects like service and cleanliness. Location is very good, some 5min from Altona station but on a very busy street, full of cars, noise of all sorts and beggars; inside can be dark and warm. The menu is extensive, it's a chain, and prices have gone up but not so much. Staff is clearly overworked and they tend to be rough at times, but bear the heat in mind this summer. I should try it a second time under different circumstances, feel they deserve it.

Schlechter Service, unverschämte Bedienung. Wir waren bis vor kurzem immer gerne bei Green Papaya in der Bahrenfelder Straße essen aber leider hat die Qualität des Essens sehr nachgelassen. Auch die Bedienung lässt zu wünschen übrig, dazu kinderunfreundlich. Wir werden nicht mehr dort speisen.
