Das Essen war wirklich gut, daran gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Was mich jedoch sehr enttäuscht hat, war die Situation beim Bezahlen. Ich lebe seit fast 20 Jahren in Europa und habe noch nie erlebt, dass in einem Restaurant Trinkgeld verpflichtend verlangt wird. Selbst in Michelin-Sterne-Restaurants ist Trinkgeld freiwillig oder eine Servicegebühr wird transparent auf der Rechnung ausgewiesen. Trinkgeld sollte immer eine freiwillige Anerkennung für guten Service sein und niemals eingefordert werden. Wenn ein Restaurant eine Servicegebühr erheben möchte, sollte diese klar auf der Rechnung stehen und nicht erst beim Bezahlen verlangt werden. Gutes Essen allein reicht nicht aus – Transparenz und Respekt gegenüber den Gästen gehören ebenfalls zu einem guten Restaurant. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung werde ich leider nicht wiederkommen.

Sehr leckere traditionelle Chinesische Küche, die scharfen Gerichte kann man auch in unterschiedlichen Schärfegraden bestellen. Immer wieder ein Besuch wert.

Als deutscher muss man vielleicht etwas auf der Speisekarte gucken aber sowohl die Suppe als auch die Peking Ente waren fantastisch. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Super leckeres chinesisches Essen. Auch vegetarisch viele leckere Optionen! Die Aubergine nach Art des Hauses ist ein absolutes Muss!

Die Bedienung war unglaublich unfreundlich. Das Fleisch war nicht richtig ausblutet und schmeckte daher stark nach Wild. Das gebratene Rindfleisch mit Frühlingszwiebeln hatte überhaupt keinen Ingwer und war daher ungenießbar. Ich bat sie, es mit etwas Ingwer nachzukochen, um den fischigen Geschmack zu entfernen, woraufhin sie mich nur anfuhr, dass sich sonst niemand daran gestört hätte. Das war lächerlich. Die ausländischen Gäste hingegen wurden von ihr geradezu überschwänglich umschmeichelt. Der scharfe Kuttelsalat und die geraspelten Kartoffeln waren einigermaßen in Ordnung; mit Chiliöl schmeckt schließlich alles gut. Überlegen Sie es sich gut, bevor Sie hier Fleischgerichte bestellen. Sie sind viel zu sparsam mit Gewürzen und Aromen. Insgesamt war ich nach dem Essen einfach nur frustriert.

Ein chinesisches Restaurant in der Nähe des Kölner Doms. Mein Kommilitone war schon öfter dort essen, und dieses Mal hat er mich mit nach Köln genommen, also sind wir dort vorbeigekommen. Die Musik im Restaurant kam mir bekannt vor, wodurch es sehr einladend wirkte. Das Essen war ziemlich gut, obwohl es mir persönlich etwas zu salzig war. Falls Freunde mal Lust auf chinesisches Essen haben, kann ich dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Wir waren im Great Wall in Köln und hatten einen rundum gelungenen Abend. Das Essen war sehr lecker, frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich wirklich überzeugend. Besonders positiv überrascht waren wir von den großzügigen Portionen – wir haben es nicht einmal geschafft, alles aufzuessen und konnten uns noch die Hälfte für zu Hause einpacken lassen. Auch der Service war hervorragend. Die Mitarbeiter waren durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und haben dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns wohlgefühlt haben. Wer gutes Essen, große Portionen und einen herzlichen Service schätzt, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen gerne wieder! 😊🍜🥢

Bestes asiatischer Restaurant das ich kenne.... Absolut ein Geheimtipp wer asiatische Küche liebt. Hier gibt es für jeden etwas, von typisch europäisch angehauchten asiatischen Gerichten bis hin zu echten chinesischen Spezialitäten. .

Durch die vielen positiven Rezessionen haben wir uns entschlossen hier mal Essen zu gehen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Erstmal, das Personal war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hat uns sehr gut beraten bei der Essenswahl. Zum Anfang gab es eine sauer scharf Suppe und die war lecker und eine ordentliche Portion. Der Hauptgang gebackenes Hühnerfleisch mit Knoblauch und Koriander hat auch geschmeckt. Hier gab es frisch gezapftes Kölsch.

Ich hatte Entenzungen und geschmorten Fisch bestellt. Alles in allem war es ganz ordentlich und lecker. Die Entenzungen haben mir geschmeckt, aber die Soße zum Fisch war wirklich zu viel, sie war viel zu süß, und der Fisch hatte einen etwas seltsamen Nachgeschmack. Vielleicht war es einfach eine unglückliche Auswahl an Gerichten.

Die Schüssel mit dem Ochsenfrosch sah klein aus, war aber viel zu viel für eine Person. Er schmeckte sogar noch besser als der in China.

Zu teuer für das, was man isst…

Ich war gestern zum ersten Mal hier und das Essen war einfach sensationell. So eine Qualität habe ich noch nie aus der chinesischen Küche gegessen. Der Service war freundlich, das Ambiente eher sachlich aber sauber. Hier gibt es kein typisches China Buffet, sondern exquisite Speisen in außergewöhnlicher Qualität.

Dieser Laden ist wirklich top. Am Essen gibt es absolut nichts auszusetzen, alles ist durchweg köstlich. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn ich das nächste Mal in Köln bin.

Wir waren übers Wochenende in Köln und haben direkt in der Nähe gewohnt! Einfach gegoogelt und angerufen, ob wir das Essen abholen könnten. Gar kein Problem. 30min später konnte ich das Essen in Empfang nehmen. Das Essen hat einfach gigantisch geschmeckt. Besonders die Süsskartoffelpuffer haben es mir angetan. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Es ist schon eine Weile her, dass ich verreist bin, daher ist dies meine erste Bewertung seit Jahren. Heute besuche ich den Kölner Dom und habe in diesem vietnamesischen Restaurant zu Abend gegessen. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm, das Essen preiswert und der Service sehr freundlich. Wirklich erschwinglich. Ich hatte die Vorspeise Há cảo tôm, ein paar Sushi-Rollen und eine Schüssel Pho. Die Vorspeise war so lecker, dass ich ganz vergessen habe, ein Foto zu machen, bevor ich sie gegessen habe. 😋 Ups! Wenn ihr mal in Köln seid, solltet ihr euch unbedingt die Zeit nehmen, dieses nette Restaurant zu besuchen und ein tolles Essen zu genießen. Ich gebe diesem Restaurant 5 Sterne! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Das Essen war insgesamt nicht schlecht. Angesichts der Lage direkt vor dem Kölner Dom sind die Preise zwar etwas höher, aber für eine Touristengegend noch im Rahmen (kleine Suppen um die 7–8 €, Hauptgerichte um die 25 €). Der Service war allerdings etwas enttäuschend. Zwar wurden die grundlegenden Serviceleistungen wie Bestellungsaufnahme und Servieren erbracht, aber während des Essens wurde uns kaum Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Trotzdem wurden wir beim Bezahlen gebeten, ein Trinkgeld ab 7 % festzulegen, was angesichts des Serviceniveaus etwas unangemessen wirkte. Normalerweise gebe ich gerne Trinkgeld für guten Service, aber in diesem Fall erschien es mir nicht gerechtfertigt. Die Lage und das Essen sind akzeptabel, aber es ist ratsam, sich vor einem Besuch über den Service und die Trinkgeldpraxis zu informieren.

Alles wunderbar und das Essen war köstlich. Leider wird nicht mehr zu mir geliefert :(

Freundlicher Service und hervorragendes Essen.

Die Gerichte haben einen authentisch chinesischen Touch. Mir persönlich haben die Wan-Tan-Teigtaschen sehr gut geschmeckt, die Brühe war jedoch etwas fad und einige Gerichte waren salziger als erwartet. Angesichts der guten Bewertungen und der appetitlicher aussehenden Speisen anderer Gäste empfehle ich Ihnen aber, Ihre Experimentierfreude für einen Moment etwas zurückzustellen und die Gerichte zu probieren, die an den anderen Tischen häufig bestellt werden.

Ich habe 2 Vorspeisen und 2 Hauptgerichte bestellt und im Lokal abgeholt. Zu Hause festgestellt, es ist kein Reis dabei. Kein offensichtlicher Hinweis dazu auf der Speisekarte im Netz, kein Hinweis dazu bei der telefonischen Bestellung, kein Hinweis dazu bei der Abholung. Fazit: Reis selbst gekocht, Essen derweil kalt. € 57,40 kann man besser investieren. Ich bestelle dort nichts mehr.

Das Essen ist ausgesprochen gut. Man bekommt auch sehr traditionelle chinesische Gerichte. Der Service ist freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Wirklich guter Service und köstliches, authentisches chinesisches Essen. Werde beim nächsten Kölner Besuch wiederkommen. Ich empfehle Gurkensalat und Pak Choi.

Erzwungenes Trinkgeld, überteuert und winzige Portionen! Die 2-Sterne-Bewertung meiner Freundin wurde technisch gesehen auch entfernt; es ist eine gefälschte Bewertung. Mal sehen, wann meine gelöscht wird.

Man merkt, dass es authentisch ist, wenn man vor der Hälfte der Gerichte gewarnt wird! Wieder einmal eine positive Überraschung. Entenzungen müssen ja irgendwo hin – in meinen Bauch ist ein guter Platz.

Wir waren kürzlich zum ersten Mal im Great Wall und waren rundum zufrieden. Die Mitarbeiter sind aufmerksam und freundlich, die Auswahl ist groß, das Essen sehr lecker, wobei wir nicht mutig genug waren und nur „langweilige“ Gerichte bestellt haben 😊 Hier habt ihr die Möglichkeit zu experimentieren, es gibt sehr viele Spezialitäten, von Quallensalat über Entenzungen, Froschschenkel bis hin zu Schweineohren - wer experimentierfreudig ist, oder die Gerichte aus China kennt, kommt im Great Wall garantiert auf seine Kosten

I do not usually leave reviews, but my experience here warrants one. While I initially offered constructive criticism regarding the food quality and atmosphere - which I was invited to share - it was met with hostility. The management became argumentative and resorted to petty behaviour rather than addressing the feedback. Regardless of any future changes the restaurant makes, it does not change the unpleasantness I experienced. While the initial issues might have deserved three stars, the management's decision to double down and argue with a customer drops the score significantly. One star is the lowest rating possible, which is still more generous than this establishment deserves.

Authentic Chinese food. We ordered spring rolls, wonton soup, and tripe as appetizers, and mapo tofu, crispy duck, chicken kung bao, and eggplant as main courses. Everything was delicious! Drink prices were on the higher side.

My husband is actually a very good cook himself and therefore very picky when it comes to food, so it’s really rare for him to praise a restaurant. But here, he genuinely said that every single dish was good. The Shuizhu Pork (水煮肉片) was especially outstanding — the mala chili oil aroma was incredibly fragrant and authentic. We ordered quite a lot of dishes. I was even trying to lose weight and planned not to eat rice, but in the end I couldn’t resist at all 😂 The owner kindly told us we could take leftovers home if we couldn’t finish, but honestly… we finished everything, haha! The flavors are intense, complex, and sometimes surprising, but always balanced and incredibly flavorful. This might take a bit of an adjustment for European diners, but anyone open to authentic cuisine will be thoroughly satisfied. The opportunity to discover new dishes is particularly noteworthy – it's worth being adventurous! The ingredients are diverse, the preparation is spot on, and the entire team ensures a thoroughly pleasant visit.

Fantastic food, portions are big enough, taste is excellent

Our trip was completely ruined. The only positive was that the food arrived really quickly. I think that's about it. Now for the downsides: First, I would recommend that the staff of this "restaurant" turn up the heat every now and then, as it was freezing inside. It was "a bit" uncomfortable having to sit and eat in our jackets. Next, I have to say that the waitress urgently needs to attend a German course because every time we spoke to her, she had to call a colleague. The "funniest" thing, however, was that we got food poisoning after visiting this dive. Headaches, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea—the whole nine yards. If you don't want to spend a day in bed, I recommend you avoid this place.

The Chinese restaurant 'Great Wall' likely gets its name from the Great Wall of China and the fact that it's located, so to speak, above Cologne's former Roman city wall. In any case, you'll find very authentic Chinese Szechuan, Huaiyang, and Hunan cuisine here, featuring lots of offal, duck blood, duck tongues... it's nothing like the "Chinese" restaurants you usually find in Germany. We had (in order of the photos) duck tongues, tea tree mushrooms with pork belly, lamb with cumin and chili, and frog legs Szechuan style, all very good. There's also a small but excellent wine list with fair prices. The (English-speaking) service was very friendly. It was a wonderful experience to encounter a piece of China in the heart of historic Cologne, practically in the shadow of the cathedral. Highly recommended if you're curious and open to this culinary culture. - Only 4 stars for the ambiance because, due to renovations, access is only possible via (for me, difficult) stairs.

An okey restaurant. The food is good, but relatively expensive for what you get. The service is meagre, where you need to pay extra for each small bit of rice for each person.

This is absolutely the best braised beef brisket with radish I've ever had in Europe. It was amazing! I even ate three big bowls of rice with it.

We were looking for a spot of Asian cuisine and, almost by chance, we stumbled upon this place. We arrived a little late, but we were greeted with a smile and prompt service. The dishes arrived promptly: the fish, fresh and full of flavor; the dumplings, so tender they almost fell apart. Amidst friends, laughter, and cold beers, the evening ended up being one of those simple evenings fondly remembered.

Today was our first visit to what is supposedly the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Cologne. Sure, we didn't dare much and opted for beef, squid, and tofu with bacon. Authenticity? The sauces for the appetizers came from the supermarket shelf. The spice levels of the dishes seem arbitrary. While my beef, which was rated as spicy, was rather mild, the equally rated squid came across as very spicy. It also had a fishy flavor. The beef was tasty, but only offered chilies and fresh coriander. The service was friendly but inattentive. You had to clearly call for attention to be served. The ambiance is uncomfortable at best. Conclusion: Okay, but I'll only come back, if at all, because of the good location near the main train station.

We happened to stop in on our way to the train station, and it was the best culinary discovery we've had in ages! The food was incredibly delicious and varied! My highlight was the baked eggplant. The very friendly and attentive service made the visit perfect.

We visit the restaurant regularly and can only confirm that it serves 100% authentic Chinese cuisine. We don't know of any comparable establishment in the region, even though there are supposedly Asian restaurants on every corner. A top recommendation if you want to delve into the world of Asian, especially Chinese, cuisine. We wish the team continued success!

The dishes are very authentic and the presentation is good, but the price-performance ratio is not high compared to other Chinese restaurants I have visited in Germany.

I ordered the Peking Duck menu (E02) today at 5:20 p.m., first of all the waitress was not very friendly, then the dish came where the duck was soft and limp instead of crispy, after about 20 minutes I asked for some more vegetables, batter and sauce for the rolls, but the waitress said in a very unfriendly tone that it would cost extra, I can not recommend this way of doing things here, also not because of the quality or taste of the food!!

The price is high, rice is charged separately. There are not many dishes. I asked the waiter to order a little spicy, but the dishes were still spicy. There is no service and I am forced to tip. I will never come back here again.

Absolutely fantastic Chinese cuisine—but authentic and not what is usually served as 'Chinese food' in Germany. The very friendly staff will point out if something is unusual for European tastes or perhaps too spicy. We've been there four times now and always had something different. Everything was delicious. We particularly liked the lamb with spring onions, the beef with spring onions, the Shanghai duck, and the Hunan pork. The appetizers were also first-class: pork stomach, duck tongue, spicy beef, Chinese steamed dumplings... everything was excellent. The extremely friendly staff and the lightning-fast service deserve special mention! We'd be happy to go back again!
