Everything was mediocre, from the service to the ambiance to the food. The pizza bread quickly became hard and resembled rusks in places; beyond that, there was no garlic or oil. The seafood salad was already very al dente. The vitello tonnato was rather tasteless and had an excessive amount of arugula. Unfortunately, the value for money here isn't at all.

What is being offered is simply terrible, DISGUSTING!!!

We ordered for pickup and were very disappointed. The pasta was reheated and tasted like frozen food, and I don't even want to talk about the carpaccio. I threw it straight in the trash after just one bite. The meat had a sour taste, which didn't even remotely resemble carpaccio and reminded me more of expired cooked ham. There was no arugula, even though it was advertised as such; instead, there was a pre-made salad from a bag that was already brown and flaky. I would never eat here again and would advise everyone to get fries from a snack bar instead, where at least you know what you're getting.

The food was more than good, the pizza was really good... we were there for lunch. The ambiance was also basically okay. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere wasn't great. The host and his waitress (presumably his son) were dancing and singing loudly in the dining room, then busy on their phones... which, along with the Italian music on the radio, was really annoying. I had to say twice that we'd like to pay... It could be better...

I can't recommend this restaurant. We were there on a Thursday, and the restaurant was open, even though the door said "Closed Thursdays." So far, so good. We sat in the beer garden. My partner ordered a salami pizza, and I ordered an insalata verde. What was served to me was a small bowl of wilted and brownish iceberg lettuce cut into thin strips, presumably left over from the day before. The dressing was unidentifiable. The salad tasted slightly bitter, and the dressing lacked any flavor—definitely a case for the organic waste bin. After the first forkful, I left the salad; it was inedible and an insult. My partner's salami pizza only had slices of salami. I know from a good pizzeria that the salami is topped with cheese, even on a frozen pizza. The pizza looked like it had been baked in a wood-fired oven, but the taste wasn't outstanding—as advertised by the restaurant—more like a run-of-the-mill pizza. When the waiter came to take my payment, he didn't ask if I didn't like the salad and outrageously charged me €5.50. I was charged €3.20 for a 0.4-liter glass of mineral water—extortionate. That was my first and last visit to this pizzeria. The value for money was abysmal! The service was careless, listless, and indifferent, following the motto: "eat or die."

I usually never write reviews. But this place can be intimidating for those coming from a big city, because it seems like a German restaurant done in Italian style, but I have to say that if any fellow countrymen pass by here they can stop for a meal. Pizza and Bolognese for the kids are ok... I have to say the pizza is delicious and doesn't linger in your stomach, the mozzarella is also good, not the usual gauda. Very kind owners with Neapolitan music in the background. Thanks.

Delicious food especially the pizza

Carmine, the owner, is an eclectic and exceptional person, who captivates you with his charm and tells you many interesting anecdotes about his life. The pizzas get an 8 (there's always room for improvement), but the vegetable soup and cannelloni with meat were 10+. Thanks also for the homemade sorbet, much appreciated!

2025 - The quality of the pizza seemed to have declined somewhat. Tables and countertops were not clean. 2023/2024 We were here for dinner. The pizza and calzone were delicious – the crust was fantastic, the salad was also delicious, and the tiramisu was also delicious. We would love to come back.

We would definitely describe this restaurant as "underrated" ☝🏼 and it deserves more stars. We had a tomato soup starter and two pizzas 🍕. All three dishes were perfect; we would order it exactly the same way again and have zero complaints. 🤤😮‍💨 The portions are large and the price is super fair. 🤝

Little food for a lot of money 😕 Among other things, we ordered a Caprese salad to go. The salad tasted okay, but not particularly good. The mini portion cost 13!!!! euros, which wouldn't even fill a child. That's about 6 slices of mozzarella and a sliced tomato on a few arugula leaves. When we asked if the price was right, we were met with a smile and the explanation that they don't set the prices. That's a rip-off and can only be done if there are enough walk-up customers. Therefore, unfortunately, only one star.

A few meters away is another pizzeria, where we left the dining area after our drinks. Apparently, the staff weren't willing to put their cell phones on silent, which meant a film in a foreign language played throughout the entire dining area... so much for that. At Gran Sasso, we felt completely different from the moment we entered! Even though this isn't a gourmet restaurant... everyone here is a genuine Italian, and they were all friendly and accommodating. The highlight, however, is the man at the oven, who prepares the pizzas and bakes them in the open oven. Here, the dough is really turned and swirled, and the result is a huge and delicious pizza that truly deserves the label "Italian"! A great base and an excellent overall flavor. We were very pleasantly surprised, and THANK YOU for that!!!

If you want to eat a really good pizza, this is the right place. The first courses are also excellent, abundant and super delicious, the tagliatelle with seafood were a dream. Super value for money, friendly and very kind staff! I highly recommend it.

The behavior of one of the employees at this restaurant is completely inappropriate. The man, who is apparently part of the team, disrespectfully stares at every waitress's buttocks without any inhibitions. Even worse: Even my partner was subjected to unpleasant stares during our visit, even though we were clearly there as a couple. This is completely unacceptable. It's not only harassing to the employees, but also extremely unprofessional to the guests. Food and ambiance aside, if you're made to feel uncomfortable as a guest, then visiting is simply an imposition. Hopefully, this behavior will be taken seriously internally and consequences will be imposed. In any case, I won't be coming back.

Salad with fried salmon was the house recommendation. Unfortunately, the salmon was very burnt and simply inedible. There was no concession, just the statement that there had never been a complaint and it had always been delicious. This simply isn't acceptable!!! Even if you pay the full price of €17 for it! I'm sorry.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. The fish tasted burnt and the staff didn't cater to our needs.

Great pizza!! It was very busy, and the atmosphere was accordingly loud and chaotic. Orders were taken multiple times by different employees. Everything seemed a bit hectic and disorganized. The pizzas were excellent, though! Thin crust, from the wood-fired oven, crispy crust, really very good!

Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't tasty at all, and it wasn't prepared with love either—a pure disappointment. And charging €15.00 for a small tuna pizza is completely unjust. I definitely don't recommend it.

Personal war eher unfreundlich und lustlos. Der bestellte Rotwein hatte die Temperatur wie ein Glühwein. Die Penne al Forno waren in der Mitte noch gefroren und außen verbrannt.Geschmack war ziemlich miess. Empfehlen kann ich den Besuch dort sicher nicht.

Good good The service is subpar

Schade. Über etwas mehr Freundlichkeit beim Betreten und beim Bedienen hätten wir uns riesig gefreut. Wir hatten den Eindruck, weder willkommen und gerne bedient zu werden. Die Terrasse war weder für eine Bewirtung vorbereitet noch wirkte sie auf uns willkommen.

We were very dissatisfied; the portions were small and the price-performance ratio was not right at all. The food was brought but there was no cutlery. We had to ask for it first, and then it was brought. The pizza was half-burned and tasteless, the fries were very dry, and no ketchup or mayo was offered. When I asked, I was told that they had run out of ketchup. The Wiener schnitzel was also small and very thin, very dry and hard, and reminded me more of a shoe sole. After complaining, I got a new one, but it wasn't much better. There was no lemon either.

It's a shame. We would have greatly appreciated a bit more friendliness upon entry and service. We felt neither welcome nor pleasantly served. The terrace was neither prepared for service nor did it feel inviting to us.

We only had a drink around lunchtime, but that was enough for us. The staff were very unfriendly. We felt like guests weren't welcome. They should probably close. We can't comment on the food.

We ate here with our two children on May 1st and were unfortunately not satisfied. Our order was taken incorrectly several times, and the food was delivered incorrectly or even swapped with other tables. The waiter spoke no German or English, and communication was accordingly very poor. One child's meal was completely forgotten... The Margherita pizza and pasta with Bolognese for the children tasted quite good. My pasta was missing saffron, even though it was listed on the menu. My husband's anchovy pizza was missing anchovies. We complained, but unfortunately, it was dismissed – no apology, etc. The portions were also too small and didn't fill us up. It's a real shame, because the ambiance itself and the restaurant are actually very nice.

Had dinner here with my family today. The pizza comes fresh from the wood-fired oven and the wait is not long. Pizza and bruschetta were the best I've eaten in a long time, really recommended. The service was very friendly and we felt comfortable on the beautiful terrace. If we didn't live so far away we would definitely come more often!!!

I got a spot spontaneously on Saturday. The pizza and cannelloni were delicious.

Cozy Italian restaurant. The pizzas were excellent. We were positively surprised by the Allgäu variant. Pizza with bacon and mountain cheese. What should be particularly positively mentioned is the way and friendliness in dealing with children. Therefore highly recommended.

Had a dinner with my daughter yesterday, food was surprisingly good in comparison with some comments here. We had simple pasta and pizza and it was delicious. We had a fortune to have a live music in a form of very Italian guy playing acoustic guitar and singing some very Italian songs but hey, what’s better to accompany nice Italian food then that. Seriously I couldn’t complain about anything, very good all around. Grazie Maestro.

I'm totally disappointed. We've had much better dishes there. Well, called shortly after opening on Sunday evening and wanted to order for pickup. The man on the phone was a bit reluctant because we couldn't tell him the number of the dish because we simply didn't have a card anymore. (What do hospital guests or holiday guests do then?) Of course you can google this, but an employee who answers the phone should actually know the dishes by name and not just by number. Well, in any case the dishes were ready for collection at the agreed time. But if I order pasta with cream sauce and an old forno dish with tomato sauce, I would also like sauce. Long story short... We won't be ordering there or going to the restaurant again!!!

We came here with our children (5 years and 8 months) later on Saturday evening. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. The staff and the boss were top notch. The food and service just perfect. We and hopefully many readers will definitely visit you again.

It's a shame, the food is good, but you don't feel like a guest but rather like someone who is leaving money behind. Apparently no interest in regular guests. (We are local) Requests are not taken into account. No accommodation as usual with the Italians. We weren't allowed to choose the table even though everything was empty. The fact that Parmesan costs one euro says it all. Unfortunately, the lighting is too bright and blinds. Dimmed lighting would have been nice. (recently new boss and older new waiter including some redesign of the restaurant)

A pizzeria...a place with bread dough and an oven...has run out of bread. Interesting. Alas...it seemed to be the only place open in town on a Wednesday evening. We wanted to have a drink here on Saturday lunchtime after a hike. As we entered the restaurant, we were met by an older gentleman who told us that he was closing. It is what it is, lunch break, I know it as a trained restaurateur and even myself. When we asked if we could at least reserve a table for the evening, he said "yes". In the evening I went into the restaurant, the older gentleman came up to me and just said "I know you" and then laughed. He then said that there was still a table available for us outside. The menu came quickly, as did the drinks we ordered. For dinner we had pasta with shrimps and pizza with shrimps. The food also came very quickly. A pizza doesn't take long and pasta is ready quickly. Pasta and pizza were very tasty. The remaining pizza was packed as we requested. For dessert I had a very good affogato. After paying, we had a quick chat with the older gentleman, he's the boss, and then we went home. We will also stop here again on our next stay in the region to have something to eat.

It's just sad that Scheidegg specifically promotes gluten-free food in town. The pizzeria at least offers gluten-free spaghetti and penne. Since my husband depends on this diet, we went to the pizzeria. An older gentleman who wasn't exactly blessed with friendliness came to the table and took the order. My son and I chose pizza, a Spezi and a Fanta and my husband chose gluten-free penne with carbonara. The waiter asked him if he would like the dish baked and made a face as he accepted the offer. While waiting, the older gentleman stands on the terrace next to the guests with a cigarette in his hand, which is not possible. Then came the drinks. Our son got a Cola instead of Fanta and my friend was already past his fresh days. Now we were excited about the food. The pizzas came as ordered and were really very good. The gluten free penne a la carbonara came in a fairly small bowl and looked more like an appetizer. A spoonful was given after three requests and an annoyed look. Since the pizza just couldn't be made, we really kindly asked them to pack it up. No problem at all: the gentleman quickly coughed up the mucus from his lungs and then took one slice of pizza from the plate to put it on the other one at the table! Of course with the hands that someone coughed into just before. Then I just say: Enjoy your meal and never again!!!

I can't say anything about the food because I left the “store” in tears. Here's the story: I wanted to take my son there for dinner for his birthday. I walked in the door with joy and immediately greeted an older gentleman who was serving there. At first there was no answer. I thought he was stressed and would definitely come to me. That wasn't the case. I spoke to another man and asked if we could have a table for two. He showed us a table inside. When I asked if there was anything available outside, we were asked to take a look for ourselves. That wasn't a problem for us either. We sat down at a table where there were three empty glasses and we waited for over 20 minutes until I politely asked the older gentleman if we could please order something to drink. He got very mushy and blamed me for not knowing if I just wanted to pick up a pizza (outside area is opposite the kitchen, etc.). There are also glasses in front of us and he didn't know if they were ours and I would have had to say that I wanted to order something. I said stop to him and that he shouldn't talk to me like that. He continued with his blame game. He was terrible. I had to cry (they see a "customer" crying and nothing comes of it.😡) and we then left the store (in my opinion things are different in a restaurant).

We got a salami pizza and a large plate of kebab for lunch. Without pre-order. The preparation was quick - so there was hardly any waiting time. We enjoyed both very much 👍. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. Even if the prices are certainly higher than at home - it's worth it. In our opinion, the portions are quite reasonable for the price. (Note: the maps and prices on them may be out of date on the Internet!) Conclusion: we will be happy to come back 😀

We were passing through and spontaneously stopped here. The restaurant was busy, but we were served quickly and the food came quickly. We all ordered pizza. The pizzas tasted very good. However, the vegetarian pizza number 79 should have stated that it has garlic. Unfortunately, I react strongly to garlic. This is very annoying.

There wasn't too much going on today. The cards were brought quickly and the drinks were picked up and served quickly. The food was very nicely prepared and tasted correspondingly good. Unfortunately, there were two small incidents during billing, but they were resolved in an absolutely customer-friendly, accommodating and polite manner. We would be happy to come back and would be happy to pay the slightly higher price for the beautiful and good food.

Stopped there spontaneously and a table for 4 was no problem at all. Fast, good service and always friendly 😊 We had tortellini, nuggets with homemade fries and the pizza was a dream: nice and crispy, very generous with toppings and tasted just like you would want a pizza from the stone oven to be. The price was also reasonable. Clear recommendation, I think we'll be back!

A very nice restaurant, we were also allowed to bring the dog. In the dining room you can watch the pizza maker at work. We were greeted warmly and the drinks came quickly. We had a Napoli pizza and a salami, both pizzas were very well topped. However, the salami and cheese were not of good quality, salami was bland and the cheese had the consistency of chewing gum.

The pizzas were a dream, really tasty and the service and ambience were also very great.

The food was good. But it took over 1.5 hours to get it. The two waiters were unfriendly and unable to take the orders. We were a group of 12 people, everyone who took a starter didn't get a main course. Some dishes were wrong and there was no apology. The billing was also messy because drinks were booked incorrectly. Never again.

I recently dined at a restaurant and had a pleasant experience. The food was delicious, and the service seemed friendly. The place wasn't crowded either. We ordered vitello tonnato as an appetizer for two, and a 33 cm shrimp pizza to share. We left feeling satisfied and full. The shrimp pizza was particularly to my liking. The crust was very nice, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. We asked for some garlic, which made it even more delicious. My partner thought it was okay, but we both agreed we were full. The bill, including one drink, an Aperol, and a juice, came to 45 euros, which I consider a reasonable price.

Were here for the first time but definitely not the last. When we arrived at the busy restaurant without a reservation, we initially thought it wouldn't work. But we were welcomed very friendly and brought to a table. The food was very tasty and sufficient. The Limocello Tiramisu just barely went in. 😋 A big thank you to the whole team!

I picked up food there. The pizzas were very tasty. The dough was very loose. A real Italian pizza. I was told on the phone that I could pick up the food after 15 minutes. I then waited a total of 25 minutes. It didn't bother me. Others perhaps do.

Super friendly, attentive owner who responds to all wishes. The food was good, the gluten-free spaghetti Bolognese is highly recommended. The gluten-free pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was very authentically Italian. Prices are absolutely reasonable for the food and drinks, I didn't find it expensive. The ambience inside was also authentically Italian, especially the stone oven for the pizzas is absolutely charming. Card payment is possible without any problems, from 25 euros (which is also stated at the entrance door). I definitely can't understand the negative reviews. I would recommend this restaurant, especially for people who rely on gluten-free dishes. Here you are treated very sympathetically, even with intolerances. Thank you for the lovely evening

Everything is simply delicious!!! The starter platter for 2 was enough for 4 and is so good and varied. The pizza then divided by two was enough for us. The dough is very good 👍 and the topping is really Italian. Would love to come back.

We went to GranSasso for lunch on a weekday. The number of guests was limited, so the 5 employees often stood around bored, but their friendliness still has room for improvement! Unfortunately, the food is well in the expensive range (e.g. Pizza Tonno just under €14), but the quantity is average; a small glass of tap water costs over €2. The pizzas from the wood-fired oven were served quickly and tasted okay. Payment by card is only possible from 25€, but the customer only finds out about this when paying! All in all, it's quite ok from us!

That probably didn't suit the service. We were therefore generously ignored for the rest of our stay. Other guests, on the other hand, were excessively courted. When it came to paying, they were quick to arrive.
