Everything is quickly empty and what is inside is no longer so nice and hot and some things are a bit dry

We went there for dinner yesterday around 6:30 p.m. and had reserved a table! We used to like eating there because the food was very tasty, but yesterday was a complete disappointment! The duck didn't taste like duck, the chicken had a strange texture, the fried noodles were too fatty, the fried ready-made fish was dry and tasted like old fish, even the fresh produce for frying wasn't as fresh as usual and to top it all off, the chef used the wrong, unselected sauce! I've had a stomach ache since last night and diarrhea since today, we won't be going to this restaurant again, it's a shame that you can get something like that for 30 euros when we've always enjoyed eating there!

Great shop. Unfortunately, there aren't enough parking spaces in the underground garage. A little walk after eating is also nice, though 😂

We went for the "all you can eat and drink" option in the restaurant, which is very large and therefore loud when the tables are full. The selection of drinks is not very large. The beer was Warsteiner with or without alcohol and one wheat beer only with alcohol. One immediate restriction: a maximum of 2 beers per person. Otherwise, Coke, water, etc. from the tap and juice, iced tea and lemonade from the fridge. Otherwise, coffee and drinks from the fully automatic machine. The dishes were not well seasoned and not hot enough. The sushi salad was spoiled and the pudding for dessert also had a sting in it. There were signs everywhere saying what was not allowed. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We were there yesterday and unfortunately have to say we won't be going back. My wife had plastic in her food, I had black hair in her food, the cutlery wasn't really clean, and four of the glasses we were holding had lipstick on them. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have paid the €60. They were gone after 15 minutes. It's a shame, because it was our wedding anniversary.

My visit to Gourmet Tempel was very disappointing. I really couldn't agree with much of the positive reviews. The food was really greasy. At times, the food seemed to be swimming in it. Even with some dishes, you could tell that a lot of it came from a can. Some of it was also very dry. The drinks were really limited in their selection. The drinks themselves were well-chosen. Nevertheless, the food selection was appropriate for the size of the restaurant. And the restrooms were really clean. The hygiene in general was also really good. My opinion of this restaurant: Unfortunately, it's not my favorite, and I won't be visiting again.

Update. 12.07.25 Still very satisfied and it's even gotten better. The buffet even had warm shrimp again, which were delicious, and everything was somehow even fresher and hotter than before. The drink selection was also excellent, and the service was friendly 👍 We're always satisfied here. We go several times a year, usually at lunch or during happy hour, and the food is always hot and quickly refilled. The service is always very friendly, too. I don't understand the negative reviews, or it must be an exception, as we've never experienced anything like this before. As for the drinks, there's a very good selection, even if a few are like iced tea or energy drinks from Aldi. They also have Bionade and Möller juices—just keep in mind the price! So, we're more than satisfied!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a wide selection of dishes at a fair price. The quality is truly commensurate with the price, and even the sushi, which is truly abysmal at many Asian buffets, tastes truly excellent at this gourmet temple. I only deducted one star because the meat, which you can have freshly grilled, is sometimes cooked for far too long. It's important to point this out if you don't want it hard and dry. After I suggested cooking it for a shorter time, this was taken into account!

The rooms are spacious and very bright. The buffet is well-placed in the center, with wide aisles along the sides, so there's plenty of space even when the buffet is busier. The staff is very attentive, and dishes are cleared quickly. You should bring enough cash, as the ATM doesn't accept Visa or debit cards. The food was good, with a large selection of sushi and salads, as well as various desserts, including a chocolate fountain (light and dark). The evening buffet is €30, including two alcoholic drinks per person and as many non-alcoholic drinks as you like.

I visited the Gourmet Tempel in Recklinghausen for the first time today and was very satisfied. While the buffet selection was a bit smaller, and I also missed the original bottles of Coke, Coke Zero, and Fanta, the food was absolutely top-notch and the staff were super friendly. The restaurant, buffet, and restrooms were very clean. The garage with free parking is directly beneath the restaurant. I, or rather, we, were very satisfied and would gladly come back!

There were four of us and we went for dinner straight after it opened. The ambience is nice and not loud at first. When it gets crowded the background noise is rather unpleasant. Partitions etc. could be installed here. The food is very good. There is a lot to choose from and you can also have some freshly prepared. However, if you have allergies, you should be careful here. I had things on my plate that I definitely didn't choose. The sushi selection could be larger, I know that better. Drinks are included in the price and there are enough to choose from. There are also more than enough coffee specialties and desserts. CONCLUSION: good food, lots of choice, good service

Parking: Great, free directly below in the underground car park. Food: ready-made dishes rather low Chinese standard. Selection: good. Conclusion: Not bad. Nothing special. As has often been described here: more lukewarm than hot. Mongolian grill: less selection than in other locations but OK. I cannot recommend anything fishy (except animals with shells). Ingredients that I hadn't chosen constantly ended up on my plate (like mushrooms, or a sauce that I hadn't chosen). Dessert: OK, good. Fruit, ice cream. At the end, another espresso from the machine Service: Top!! Very friendly (unlike what you can read here). Ambience: great. loud. It doesn't bother me, but it could be more pleasant Price: fits - especially including drinks (if you want to drink beer: 2 are free) Paying: Attention! Doesn't work with all types of cards via NFC (luckily I was able to pay via private Paypal. The email address was prepared on a piece of paper... no comment on that...) Resume: Definitely not a culinary highlight (or for the price). But for the price including drinks: you can always do it!

My husband and I were there on Sunday. There was a lot of choice but the counter was almost empty. It just wasn't refilled. We then talked to it and it was occasionally refilled. We thought it was good, but the lady who came to our table to get the dishes was really more than unfriendly, she really looked at you angrily every time and there was no answer to your questions. I've been coming here at least twice a month with my family and friends for about 6 years. The food is tasty and plentiful, the service is good. However, I do have one suggestion: I think background music would be perfect. This reduces the noise from the guests and makes the stay in the restaurant much more pleasant.

I recently visited Gourmet Tempel Restaurant and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The location of the restaurant is really nice, the atmosphere is inviting, and it has a cozy yet upscale feel. The food was really tasty and there was a lot to choose from. There is something for every taste and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. What's particularly worth mentioning is the good value for money - you get a lot for your money. Another highlight was the fact that you could drink as much as you wanted there. Energy drinks, beer and other drinks were available in sufficient quantities. That was definitely a plus. The only criticism was that it got very loud when there were children in the restaurant. There was a lot of noise, which spoiled the atmosphere a little. Another point that caught my attention: During my visit, there was an incident of shoplifting that the staff didn't seem to notice. This was not so pleasant as it affected the feeling of security and attention. There was also a children's playground plus point for children Despite these small hiccups, I would still like to come back because overall it was a positive experience.

I ate here with my partner today. First of all, it was pretty cold. Now for the food! The selection is okay. Unfortunately, everything I ordered wasn't warm. The roasted meat was tough and only slightly warm when it arrived at the table. And I should emphasize that it wasn't busy, so the person serving it didn't have much to do. The duck and chicken strips weren't good either. The duck was too fatty and the strips too tough, meaning it had been in the fryer too long. As for the staff, the receptionist was very friendly and personable. The people who cleared the table walked around with an expression on their faces that immediately told you they weren't in the mood. When you say thank you, you don't even get a smile in return. For this reason, there's no tip. My conclusion: I won't go here again.

At first glance, the Gourmet Temple appears very beautiful and inviting, with a bright ambiance and friendly service. Unfortunately, this restaurant completely fails in the most important aspect: the food. The meat and fish, and even the sauces, taste bland. A great restaurant with a wide selection of food and drinks. The restaurant has its own underground parking garage, and the elevator takes you directly into the restaurant, which is very spacious and pleasant. The entrance and reception are very pleasant and cozy. A very large venue, it's also highly recommended for parties, birthdays, and the like. Dirty plates and glasses are immediately cleared away by the staff, who come through with a trolley every 30 minutes or so. The food is constantly replenished, and there's a wide selection of drinks for everyone. There's also plenty of dessert, including cakes, fruit, ice cream, and, of course, all kinds of coffee. Large Chinese restaurant with no special pretensions. The food is nothing exceptional. What I particularly remember is the amount of damage to the chairs.

We were there recently. It was very disappointing. The selection and variety were good. The food, however, was very poor. The dishes ranged from cold to lukewarm. The selected meat used for the preparation was tough and barely edible. The drinks are cheap stuff from Aldi and Lidl. The white chocolate fountain was diluted with water, so no chocolate spread over the fruit. The Afri-Cola was empty. It took forever to refill the machine. I don't recommend the restaurant any more than I did several years ago. For the money, we could have eaten better anywhere. What a shame!

This place has long been one of my favorites due to its good value for money. The all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink concept for a good price sets it apart from other buffet restaurants and makes it a pioneer. The staff is always attentive and friendly, but unfortunately, not everything always runs smoothly. For example, the tap system was often broken when we were there, and we've visited the place frequently. The food is super delicious, but when you choose the sauces at the grill, the sauce should actually end up on your plate and not just dry dishes. I often had to add extra sauce. **Addendum 2020:** I last visited the place at the beginning of 2020, and I have to say that the taste and quality have unfortunately declined. The drink selection has been greatly reduced, and the dishes have become rather bland. The sushi, in particular, which is what I usually go there for, has deteriorated considerably and no longer tastes as it should. Therefore, I'll probably not go there for a while and only check occasionally to see if anything has improved. The last three visits weren't convincing, and I see no reason to go more than once a year. **Update May 2023:** On my last visit in May 2023, the sushi was okay, but the fried food tasted of nothing. The restrooms were in terrible condition—dirty and broken. The clientele was also unpleasant, and parking remains scarce and tight. I haven't missed a thing in the three years I haven't been there. Therefore, my rating unfortunately remains "not recommended."

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed, I'm aware that you can't please everyone, but what I personally noticed was that half of this restaurant was occupied by people who were Muslims or people who didn't drink alcohol, but there was only one decent cake (tiramisu) that had alcohol must be that??? Everything else didn't look appetizing either, everything was ready-made desserts, we certainly wouldn't want to come back for that money

Ate locally for the first time. Buffet including drinks €28. Nothing was missing. Self-assembled food (various types of meat/fish/seafood/vegetables) is freshly prepared relatively quickly. The sauce is chosen by yourself. The drinks are self-service. Dessert + cappuccino at the end were very tasty.

We ate there and I have to say that was the last time. Has diminished greatly. Lukewarm to cold food, rice totally dried out, and a lot of other things just leftovers. The four of us paid over €100 for this. NEVER AGAIN, better go to the lion park, where you know what you have.

Basically a good Chinese, but unfortunately the Mongolian fried came cold and not well done and the "playroom" sorry but that no longer deserves its name! The play equipment is broken and the screens are out of order. There are no more... We just went there specifically because it was a very positive prospect with a child.

Yesterday (October 3rd, 2024) we were at the Gourmet Temple for the 10th time. So far we've always liked it. There is always the typical selection at the buffet, lots of fresh food for the grill and the drinks flat in the price (soft drinks, beer, coffee, etc.). There is a huge parking garage and a nice ambience. I don't know what happened yesterday though. Some of the food tasted as if it had been prepared 3-4 days ago. The peanut sauce looked extremely unappetizing in the container, as if it had been floating in there for a week. Unfortunately, that's what it tasted and smelled like. The chocolate from the chocolate fountain also tasted strange. Likewise, the fried rice with vegetables was so hard that I thought my teeth were going to fall out. Otherwise the meat was okay and so was the sushi, as were the desserts (except for the chocolate fountain)

There was no service, just picking up plates at the table. The drinks were free to get yourself, which was good. The food was halfway okay. The sushi was small and not exceptional or below average bad/good. The salmon in Lidl is sometimes fresher and softer than in this restaurant. No sashimi. No special sushi. No scallops. And no special calamari. Very few mushrooms and very, very few fresh vegetables in the teppanyaki. The meat in the teppanyaki was very, very tough and barely edible - it had to be thrown away, which we unfortunately had to do because it wasn't chewable. Such a shame about animal deaths! The river crabs were inedible and the octopus/clams were very tough. The price was not justified for this service. The staff simply let children run around the buffet area and shout, making it difficult to have a conversation at the table. Unpleasant experience and a lot of room for improvement - except for the drinks.

I can't recommend it more! I often go to buffet restaurants with my family and have never experienced anything so bad. The food tastes really greasy and the squid rings, for example, are completely hard as if they had been lying there for hours. Most of the dishes are broken. Staff not really friendly. The only positive thing is that drinks are included in the price. Well you get how you pay for, are a lesson richer.

Unlimited food and drinks for a fixed price. There is something for everyone, from sushi to grill and vegetarian to meat, already prepared or stir-fried and desserts. All soft drinks and beer/wine are included. You can pay extra for spirits. The staff keeps a good pace (sometimes a little too much) and keep in mind that not all foreign passes work when paying. (There is an ATM nearby for emergencies)

It wasn't too busy but it took a while to get filled up. There was sometimes no syrup at the drinks machine and the carbon dioxide was almost non-existent. Baked chicken with zero seasoning. The whole meal tasted more like a flavor enhancer than anything else. Conclusion, I will never enter the store again.

Yesterday I was there again after a while. Unfortunately we (my husband and I) realized that the taste of the food had really deteriorated compared to before. The Mongolian buffet was okay, but not as great as back then. In terms of taste, the Chinese buffet somehow has little to do with Asian cuisine as I know it. Beef with barbecue sauce and onions? But the selection is very extensive. The fruit and cake buffet is very appealing. The employees are also nice and helpful, but this time we weren't entirely impressed with the taste. Another positive thing to mention is of course the drinks flat rate.

We were there quite late in the evening. It was full and a bit too loud for me personally. The selection is very large, but there are a lot of finished products. We particularly noticed all the fried foods. It was dripping with fat and was just frozen food. I don't have to go there for that. The staff is very helpful and courteous, but that doesn't make the greasy food any better. Although there are other really tasty things there, the greasy frozen things have no place there. We had something packed up that we couldn't manage and put it in the hot air fryer again the next day. The fat was still there too. Generally far too expensive for the quality.

In the middle of a conversation.. The waiter stood in front of the table and only made the demanding hand gesture of handing over the plate where there was still a piece of meat on it The guest ate it quickly to comply with the waiter's request. The freshly fried dishes were placed on a dish trolley where the used dishes were also collected. This is used to drive around the area. The waiter distributes the plates with numbers in one corner but also takes the dirty plates from there. Although there are still fresh plates of food on the trolley, they are then distributed in another corner of the hall. Unhygienic and not nice to look at. The Restsurant advertises promotions for the happy hour buffet at a price of 20.90 euros. When it comes to paying, you pay a price of 27 euros. The offer is on the restaurant's current website, but according to the statement the offer is old and no longer valid. Customers are only lured with the Angobot. For me it was the last visit to the restaurant. You can't win guests with such promotions.

I was very skeptical because of the many negative reviews here. A work colleague recommended the restaurant to me and I went there with my friend today and it was great! The food was hot and everything tasted very tasty. A huge selection of drinks and food and desserts. The staff on site was super friendly the whole time and helped with no matter what. Hello, yes we were there today. The old price was just under 21 euros on the internet, in happy hour it was now 27 euros. The price is steep. The food was totally dry and not refilled. It was the last time we were there. It's a shame, the restaurant used to be really good
