Unfortunately self-service, but otherwise top 🔝 very tasty 😋

The food and drinks were really great, but the head waiter (Kalifat) was awful: super negative vibes, unaccommodating, really not great. His treatment of the other waiters also speaks volumes – super uncool!!! We tried quite a few things, but unfortunately, his behavior was very unpleasant from start to finish. The rest of the staff, especially Asim, is super nice (super cool), but after my experience with Kalifat, I can only give him 1*. What a shame.

Good, not entirely cheap restaurant. The restaurant is in the immediate vicinity of the main train station and the Hörnbrücke. There was little activity on Sunday and Monday. Of course we ate fish.

Absolutely not good food here!! Food and price ratio doesn't match!! We ordered sea bass and wanted 1 slice of bread with it!! The answer was we had to buy a bread basket for €6.50 and we also wanted ketchup for the fries but they stood in the way!! And the Hammers is there, all the staff are unfriendly at their best!! Bissjetz was there twice and both days were equally unfriendly!!

It was a nice place to eat fish. Being right on the quayside, it certainly offers a beautiful view. Just a quick note: the fish and chips were a bit meager, just a lot of fries, four small pieces for €9. It was really tasty, but ultimately, unfortunately, a very expensive portion of fries. Still recommended. Enjoy your meal 😊

A Gosch as you are used to. Great cuisine, great service.

The location is very good and the atmosphere is also very pleasant. I ordered the fried fish with potato salad, which was prepared straight away and was ready in a few minutes. The service is very nice. It's a bit irritating that you have to get your own food and drinks, but the table is cleared away by the service afterwards. For me as a Swabian, the potato salad was an insult because it was prepared with mayonnaise (each to his own taste)

You can get the same thing at Nordsee for half the price, obviously a great view in the summer. I can also get them there for coffee or lemonade. Something else about your parties, a counter where you have to wait 30 minutes for a drink? So you shouldn't be surprised if the guests ask the Blue Angel across the street to refill their glasses.

The location is very good. Right on the water. Outdoor terrace sheltered from the wind and protected from sun and rain. The food isn't outstanding, but as always you get consistently good quality at fair prices at Gosch. The staff is friendly and competent.

When I visited a Gosch restaurant for the first time on December 24, I was totally disappointed by the atmosphere. Then I remembered my father (who worked at Gosch) and how Gosch started. Dad loved to tell this story that Gosch was at a fish market with a simple charcoal grill that he always had a forklift driver take to where he hoped for more sales... A market hall describes the ambience of Gosch-Kiel quite well. When I thought about the beginnings of Gosch, I liked the atmosphere. (I would still have liked to have been served at my seat) The food was very good and tasty, the wine also went well with the food.

Gosch in Kiel lives from its Sylt name, but that's all. You order food at the counter and are asked if you would like to tip for non-service. You will then receive a beeper to pick up your food after it has been prepared. Not to forget that you order and pick up the drinks at another counter!! Therefore I give 0 stars for the service. Grilled shrimp with garlic sauce was bland and the sauce suggested the garlic. White bread cut, uncovered and the cuts hard and dry. Conclusion: two portions of grilled shrimp with white bread and salad decoration, an Alster water and a glass of wine, everything to bring yourself just under € 60. So I just say thank you, NO thank you. Very disappointing if you know Gosch from Sylt or Gosch at his old location a year ago.

Good morning. Today I wanted to treat myself to a fried fish roll. The remoulade was smeared very thinly, no trace of lettuce leaves. Ok, the fish was hot, but is that all you can expect from Gosch? Luckily no one asked if we liked it. I expect more then. I was there with a friend. We work in sales nearby. So if someone asks me about delicious fish sandwiches? Oh well...

Was fine. The concept was explained to us in a very friendly manner at the entrance. I found the waiting time for the food (30 minutes) for two standard dishes to be picked up to be a bit long, but that is subjective. The quality of the food itself was okay, as was the price-performance ratio for today's standards. I had Thai noodles with shrimp, and the shrimp count was actually very high. There's nothing bad to say about the sauce, which tasted very noticeably just (!) like a paprika-peperoni brunch that we also used, it was delicious. So everything was fine, it was nice.

Ich habe im leeren Selbstbedienungsrestaurant zu Abend gegessen . Personal war mit 3 Personen vorhanden. Es war ein Pärchen gekommen , die sich mit dem „Selbstbedienungskonzept“ nicht auskannten . Die Dame bestellte ihr Essen am entsprechenden Tresen und wollte dann auch noch ihre Getränke dort ordern. Der Restaurantmitarbeiter sagte, sie müsse die Getränke am Barbereich bestellen . Das Missverständnis war, dass die Dame meinte, sie müsse die Getränke auch dort konsumieren und nicht mit ihrem Mann zusammen mit dem Essen am Tisch . Jedem Gast war es klar, dass die beiden aneinander vorbeisprachen. Anstelle mit dem Gast vernünftig zu reden , wurde der offensichtliche Restaurantleiter immer lauter und unangenehmer . Da ich noch beim Essen war, war ich nicht bereit, einzuschreiten. Es tat dies ein anderer Gast, der die Dame an den Tresen verwies und dass sie ihre Getränke selbstverständlich am Tisch mit dem Essen konsumieren könne. Warum konnte das der Restaurantleiter nicht. Es ist mit ein Rätsel! Auch habe ich bereut, dass ich ein großzügiges Trinkgeld in den Kasten gegeben habe, bei so einem Verhalten! Ich werde künftig mir für den Preis ein Fischimbiss suchen, wo ich bedient werde! Das Personal kann ja mal bei der Fischküche in Laboe in die Lehre gehen…

I like going to Gosch because it tastes good there, but on this visit I really asked myself where is the other half of my fish for €25.50 🐟 the portions were really very small for the price and I've had better ones Saw it at Gosch... Prices were exaggerated for the portions, even if it tasted good, I was disappointed, the employees here are friendly like almost everywhere, nice decor with a fireplace🔥

Spent a nice weekend in Kiel and first went to the ferry port near Gosch. Very friendly service and delicious pan fish, beautifully prepared. Gladly again!

Delicious plaice with fried potatoes!

I've been to the parties more often now, unfortunately the quality of the music isn't as good as you would expect. You feel a bit reminded of the Ballermann. Now that I'm there for the umpteenth time, it's getting annoying to follow the DJ (hands in the air, etc., babbling along to the songs, the sound turned off so everyone sings along). It would be nice if you could listen to good tracks and something special every now and then and then dance without feeling like you're at the "Old Market" during Kiel Week. A suggestion for the bar to avoid long queues: Feel free to pour a few beers in advance - because beer is always possible. Otherwise, I'm happy that there is an opportunity to celebrate in the middle of the city.

I'm thrilled and will come back when I'm in Kiel. It works like Vapiano and Co., it was really quick without a long wait and it was really tasty. The restaurant is located right on the harbor opposite the main train station... so perfect 👍🏼

It was very drafty and cool in the restaurant, so sitting while eating without a jacket was impossible. Feels more like comparing it to a snack bar. There is no service at the table at all. Which isn't a problem for people who can walk. It is almost impossible for wheelchair users or people who have to walk with a walker. Getting drinks or food to the table for eating and drinking. Assistance dogs are allowed, thank you very much for that 🫶 but how are you supposed to get drinks and food without accidents with a walking stick in one hand and an assistance dog with a leash in the other hand? 😢 I was lucky in misfortune that other guests helped me. 🫶❤️🫶 When we were there, I would like to add, it was at a time when Gosch was very uncrowded and most of the tables were unoccupied. It would be very nice for us people with disabilities if some help were available here. Otherwise, Gosch cannot be recommended for individuals with disabilities. Even if the food there tastes so delicious 😋.

We were in a larger group at the GOSCH SYLT in Kiel and ate in the restaurant. You sit there comfortably. The food was super good. Everyone ate something different and everyone was very satisfied. Dear Gosch crew and owners in Kiel, I've been to a party with you four times now with friends and business people from Kiel. Each time we left because there was no way to get a drink within half an hour or faster - we had to wait in line for longer and longer. This is really disappointing and difficult to understand. At one point you could understand that, especially at the first event, but making the same mistake over and over again and wasting sales in the process is a real shame. There is definitely room for improvement here! We won't come around anymore and will of course spread the word to our circle of friends and acquaintances. It's really unfortunate about the location, which isn't doing particularly well anyway - and everyone in Kiel knows that. Toi, toi, toi for the future and the second attempt to establish a Gosch in Kiel.

For us this is the best Gosch, when we are in Kiel we only go to Gosch. I don't know where oysters are served as lovingly as they are anywhere else! on ice, with delicious baguette and very fresh! Thank you to the boss and team.

We bought fish rolls: a taciturn, annoyed restaurateur/seller threw us a simple, very small roll with a small piece of herring and a few onion rings in a bag for €4.60. In Kiel I have never had such a bad herring roll, even though I live in Kiel and often eat fish rolls - admittedly, it was my first from Gosch Sylt in Kiel, which even according to newspaper reports is said to be worse than most of the well-known Gosch Sylt's and besides Gosch Sylt is said to have decreased in quality globally. A little further away you can get herring rolls for just a few cents less, which, in addition to a larger roll, a larger piece of matjes, a lettuce leaf, as well as "housewife remoulade" or, if you wish, garlic mayo or mayonnaise instead, are included as standard at no extra charge. Never fish sandwiches here again! By the way, I can't recommend the shrimp pan that I remember from my last visit. There I was also able to experience the ambience in the shop: it may not be as great as you imagine, but it's really nice in there. I would have liked to take a photo for you readers. But I was very hungry (where you can eat everything) and the roll, which was narrower and shorter than others, was gone faster than I could think of a photo. Because despite the leaf of lettuce that was saved (they definitely saved themselves from bankruptcy, leaf lettuce is known to be very expensive :D) and the lack of sauce, it was edible and the fish was good. But to anyone who visits Kiel: There are countless fish sandwich stands or shops. Even in winter! Don't do this much worse variation of fish rolls (even the customer in front of me had to eat the shrimp roll dry without being offered a bit of sauce). It in no way represents Kiel and its culinary offerings, especially the fish rolls - although as an ignorant tourist you would expect exactly that from a shop with this logo.

Unfortunately the taste of the food was missing. The preparation time was reasonable. The staff was friendly. The service only took our predecessors' glasses from the table when asked. It's better to go to the original in Sylt. Unfortunately it was a disappointment in Kiel.

I can't understand the concept. You first have to ask yourself who is doing what. There is no information from the employees themselves. You run across the store. OK, you don't have to like it. But the highlight was the breaded, thick brown shaped stick with little fish, little taste but lots of breading. Is that supposed to be a fried fish? I've been to many GOSCH locations in cities and islands but I've never come across anything like this. Is that what Jürgen Gosch meant?

Stay away from the fish sandwich stall. Old dried herring, not pickled onions, for €4.20. The worst herring roll I've ever eaten.

I've been eating at Gosch for 15 years, especially when I'm on Sylt. Here on the Hörn in Kiel I experienced an impudence that I now have lasting bad memories of Gosch. Fish and chips: a plate of fries with mayo and five small cubes of poor quality (mushy) fish, 2.5 -3 cm long on each side... I never eat at Gosch anymore and my friends all got a photo of the most incredible fish and chips ever. That's a shame. And the foreign staff doesn't even understand the complaint.

I got a crab roll for €8.90. But the bun was already dry and probably from the day before! A no go for the price!

The food was as bland as at McDonalds!!! The fish roll consists of 10ct rolls, supermarket fish and a thick slice of onion!!!! I hope I don't sit on the pot all day tomorrow because of this!!!!! Ambiance was ok outside but inside like McDonalds!!!! The drinks were also very expensive!!! Portions far too small for the price!!! If I could I would give 0 stars!!!!! Not recommended!!!!! Better go to the subway which is 5 minutes away!!!!!

It's nice to sit, but that doesn't justify this subterranean something in the cardboard roll, probably baked goods from a discount store, with three lonely onion rings, carelessly and carelessly on the plate. Going back to Gosch after a long time. Dear company: Cod is not so expensive that - see photo - you have to use it so sparingly. Why do I point out twice that oysters (which were very good) and salad (which was ok) are starters? So that the main courses can be picked up five minutes later. Logo. The lady at the counter seemed disinterested and incompetent to us.

Fish and seafood were good (as is our experience at Gosch). I missed the attention and friendliness when it came to service/order acceptance. Dealing with an intolerance seemed disinterested to uninformed to me. Starters and main courses came at the same time despite repeated requests :-( A pity

Besides the fish plate, the best thing was probably the view over the Hörn, the tip of Kiel's harbor. The fine fish platter was tasty, but a bit carelessly presented for the price. However, no table service, but self-service. Drinks and food are also available at various counters. Place your order and pay, you get an electric gong with you, after the jingle you can then pick it up.

A Gosch of the better category. Ambience very appealing. Clean and tidy, even the 🚽. But at these prices...:! no table service, you have to order at the counter, food and drinks separately. You get your drinks immediately after paying, which you have to carry to the table yourself. You can also pay for your food immediately at the order counter. You get a beeper there and the order goes to the kitchen, you go to the table and wait for it to beep. Then you run back to the ordering counter to get your food and then carry it to the table yourself. You have to eat there quickly because your food has already cooled down a lot. As soon as you have finished your plate or finished it, a waiter, or rather a cleaner, stands there and grabs the plates and glasses. Well, harbor area. Maybe dishes and cutlery are stolen there. My meal was okay, had fried fish with fried potatoes.

Gosh Sylt. Great location right on the Hörn

Good service when ordering food, it turned out to be the most positive thing we experienced. The salmon was undercooked, the baked potato dry and boring, probably made in the morning, pre-made hollandaise sauce.

Today I bought a roll with herring and then had to go straight to the ferry and when I got on the ferry 5 minutes later and took a bite, the fish was so hard that if I had been able to bite it off, I would have spit it out again straight away. Unfortunately, it was already brown in color, which is not possible and ultimately it might even have been harmful to your health because it is very warm today. 4.30 euros for nothing.

Inside, as is typical of Gosch, you will notice that the store is rather sparsely attended when the weather is good. The display was sparsely stocked, which is something I'm used to. The food was tasty, but was rather smaller portions of fish (fine fish platter). Salad was very good.

Seats right down towards the harbor front are super good. You have to pick up your order yourself, not so well. Only got a beer, as the menu didn't really tell us anything.

Was there for the party that takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month. Nice danceable music from the 80s. However, it is quite annoying when you have to queue forever for drinks.

Was yesterday on July 13th. at the Gosch dance party in Kiel. After what was actually a successful party, we were very rudely asked to leave the restaurant at the end of the event by the manager and security. When that didn't happen quickly enough for the Gosch employees, I was beaten up by security in front of witnesses. Police report and civil charges follow. That was the last time at Gosch...

Nothing special compared to the other Goschs in Germany. Choice of food and bread rolls very limited.

It's been a while since our visit, but it's still a good year. We had an amazing evening with delicious food, friendly staff and the band Soltoros/Peggy Sunday. The staff dealt with an initial problem very professionally, so that we still got our reserved table despite being occupied by other guests (probably their regular table). Any time!

The food was very good, only at the drinks bar you need a lot of patience, even though there are three people behind the counter, things don't go too slowly, so that needs to be thought through again.

This feels like a place for people who feel that going to Nordsee (the restaurant chain) is beneath them, but they still really want Nordsee. The fish was good, nice and flaky, but the rest was more like an overpriced cafeteria (just like some other reviewers already said): 1) self-service, the only thing servers do is take away your empty plates 2) the noise. Not only is it loud when the restaurant is crowded, you also hear buzzers going off all the time when a dish is ready 3) the sides are not that great. Pasta was overcooked 4) that basil sauce has never seen a fresh basil leaf ever. Which is really not that hard - just add one or two leaves for garnish! It was either dried basil or some pesto base. 5) the sauce was also splitting right when it was served. Not sure what they did to it I think you might as well just go to Nordsee. The fish is of a similar quality and the sides are also not worse than here. And it's more affordable. The only thing you don't get is wine alongside your meal 😅

Sorry, but that was probably nothing. Gosch is no longer what it once thought it might have been. At the drinks counter we had a lady in front of us who asked about white wine and which of the varieties had the lower acidity. Answer behind the counter: “we have the 4 varieties mentioned, choose one”. Wow...okay...put 6 please. Our drink order went pretty quickly. But the next surprise comes straight after. So you walk to the next counter with two drinks in your hand. One “MC fries” please. According to the menu, fries with ketchup or mayo. After paying, a sensor is slammed onto the counter without saying a word. Ah okay, that means dinner is still taking a while. Okay, thanks...set 6 again. Then the finale. The sensor buzzes, so go in and get fries. The fries plain, without ketchup or mayo. When asked, we should suddenly pay extra for it...? Um, sorry, but setting 6 is no longer enough. It can't be due to the increased volume of the Kieler Woche, because no restaurant on the entire Kiwo was as empty as this Gosch. It makes you wonder why that could be ;-)

I have never eaten such bad matjes at Gosch, very salty and extremely solid. Not to be compared with the keel line, or in Lyst. Unfortunately, things used to be better. Does Gosch really need that? Kind regards, Lehmann family

The location is very nice, clean and very nicely located - right on the harbor. The old Gosch classic “Thai Penne” lacked flavor. Unfortunately there was no service - only self-service. This brought the social gathering to an abrupt end.

The location in a kind of pavilion on the Kiel Fjord is of course first class. When the weather is good, sitting outside with a view of the water is wonderful. Of course you have to want the self-service system, I think it's completely unproblematic, especially if you're there with several people. The food (Thai curry) was really good. And, one would hardly dare say, Gosch is now cheaper at this location than many others in the area.
