Food and atmosphere ok, self-service lacking.

Totally overrated. For the price, the food is really bad and overcooked. And while fried potatoes are on the menu, they're not what you get (just greasy potatoes).

Very nice restaurant with a good view of the harbor. The food was very good.

For being so snotty, your fish sandwiches don't look very good. Very poorly done and unaesthetic. No salad or anything like that on them. And what's also unacceptable is the salesperson handling my food with the same black gloves she just wore to take my order.

I recommend it, it's worth trying. Very friendly staff, happy to advise on approx.

The Gosch an der Hörn is a great restaurant with good food. We quickly ordered a fish sandwich and a cold pilsner. As usual, the food was excellent, so we definitely recommend it. The prices are still reasonable. The atmosphere right on the water is simply wonderful; it really adds to the atmosphere. The service could have been a bit friendlier, so I unfortunately have to deduct a star.

The Gosch Kiel restaurant on the Hörn river impresses with delicious culinary specialties. The fish sandwiches and beer are particularly noteworthy.

This place isn't what it used to be! It looks like a McDonald's restaurant. Self-service, no service!

I'm wavering between two and three stars. Two stars because of the very mediocre food in terms of value for money, and more stars because of the location right on the water with the option of outdoor seating. The service orientation of the staff depends heavily on who is on duty. It's noticeable that, despite the good location, the restaurant is usually only moderately busy. Apparently, the offerings generally don't appeal. In the evenings, they close earlier (10 p.m.) or later (11 p.m.) depending on the mood. If you're lucky, they'll announce the last round. All in all, a disappointment, not worthy of the Gosch brand. The restaurant certainly has potential, but doesn't seem to be optimally managed.

The food is super delicious. The restaurant is a self-service snack bar. Nevertheless, it's highly recommended.

The food was very good, the ambiance was great, and the service was friendly. When the weather's nice, it's best to use the back terrace (facing the water), as the building protects you from the sun and you don't have to look out onto the street.

We had fried fish with potato salad. I've never had such a bad meal. The fried fish didn't deserve its name: 3kg of breading and 10g of fish. The potatoes in the salad were drowned by mayonnaise. That's why Gosch got its name from it 🤔🫣 The draft beer was good 😉

The fish sandwiches are absolutely carelessly made and completely overpriced. No lettuce, just a tiny dollop of sauce, and very little fish. A real shame, as the shop has a lovely location...

If you want uncooperative and inattentive staff and undercooked fried fish in the self-service restaurant, then feel free to go to Gosch at Kiel Central Station. If you want expensive prices that aren't justified by the service but a great view, then feel free to come here. P.S.: Plus point for the heat lamps.

During our trip to Kiel, we ate at this restaurant 3 times and everytime it was a great experience, especially with the quality of the food. It is a self-service restaurant where you can order food and drinks separately at 2 different counters. The service was pretty fast. And the quality of food, especially the fish dishes, was excellent. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

The fish sandwiches are filled with absolutely no love. A large onion ring and you're done, no lettuce, tomatoes, or anything like that. I definitely won't be eating at Gosh again. Can't recommend it to anyone!

Unfortunately, I can't give the service a star because there simply isn't any service! The staff is reserved and only responsible for dirty dishes. Gosch is no longer living up to its good name here! It's self-service, yet you're asked for a tip when paying, and there's no reason to be friendly, neither when ordering nor when clearing the table. What a shame ☹️ Paying a lot of money for carelessly prepared food that you have to get yourself. Dirty restrooms and an overall dingy atmosphere. You don't want to go here!

If you like overpriced convenience foods (except for fish), this is the place for you. The dressing, remoulade, and potato salad were the same as you'd get at the supermarket. You can skip the trouble.

Gosch – a promise of good quality! Not at this fast food joint, however. A herring is squashed into a bun with two onion rings. No sauce was offered, and the waitress told us we could have a lettuce leaf marinated at the restaurant. A complete no-go here in Kiel. To Gosch: You really need to work on your service and food quality; it doesn't suit your brand at all!

We had a delicious meal here today. We loved it. It's self-service, but the tables are cleared and cleaned. We'll be back!

Great location, everything was clean and professional. My special request for fried potatoes without bacon was immediately accommodated. We felt at home. We'll definitely be back :-)

Very pleasantly quiet in the weekday afternoons, plenty of space, and friendly staff. The food is rather standard, but the location is still nice.

First of all, the food was always very good, but the staff were often grumpy and made you feel less than welcome. The prices were also quite high, since you had to get your own food and drinks. We visited several Gosch restaurants.

Also ganz so schlimm wie die anderen Bewerter sehe ich das Lokal nicht. Man muss wissen, dass es sich hier um eine System-Gastronomie handelt. Sonderwünsche, abweichend von der Karte sind also eher schwierig bis unmöglich. Bei uns war der Fisch und die Meeresfrüchte die wir bestellen frisch und auch schmackhaft. Das Personal ist tatsächlich ziemlich unfreundlich. Da man sich aber sowieso selbst bedienen muss, war mir das eher egal.

No, I do NOT want to be asked for a tip when I pay by card. This is a self-service restaurant, so why should I tip? Will Shell, Aral, Lidl, and Aldi soon also ask every time if I want to tip? What's the point of this nonsense? I feel harassed by this "nudging."

Frozen fried fish, fries, and potato salad from a bucket. It tastes like it, anyway. The atmosphere is comparable to the North Sea.

We traveled to Kiel the day before our cruise. After a quick check-in at the hotel, we immediately headed to the waterfront and to Gosch. It's centrally located near the main train station, right by the harbor. Great atmosphere and super delicious Gosch-style food.

Wir hatten zu dritt den "Edelfischteller" bestellt. Der Fisch war durchgegart und trocken, das angebliche Flusskrebsfleisch sah aus wie totgegarte Krabben, die keinerlei Geschmack besaßen. Dazu der stolze Preis von 25€! Fazit: Nie wieder!!

The food was average Gosch quality, but what was unacceptable was the dirty outdoor area/tables, despite the fact that there were hardly any guests at lunchtime and there were more than enough Gosch staff in front of and behind the counter. Not a problem during peak hours, but if there was more than enough time to clean, it would be a no-go.

Great location by the water and the departure points of the sightseeing boats. Good food and affordable drinks. You can sit and relax with a view of the train station or the fjord.

The bar is good, but the allergen menu is random and unclear. The food is bland, unseasoned, and far too expensive.

Unfortunately, compared to Gosch Sylt, it was significantly worse. The fried potatoes were very coarsely cut (potato halves) and barely cooked. The plaice had a rather doughy coating, and I would have preferred Iglo fish fingers for my daughter. They tasted much better. We're regular guests on Sylt; I can't recommend Gosch Kiel on the Hörn.

The food is very tasty and of good quality. The drinks are great. The seating by the water is very pleasant. What's not so nice: The outdoor area is very dirty, and there's a lot of trash under the benches, which spoils the atmosphere. The service is very grumpy and not interested in the guests (day tourists probably bring in enough money)! It's a shame, because it would actually be nice here if the surroundings were just right.

The food and location were fine. But begging for a tip at the card reader in a self-service restaurant is really embarrassing. Sorry.

We stopped here after a cruise around the Kiel Fjord to buy fish sandwiches. The restaurant is bright and cheerfully decorated, the display case is very clean and offers a large selection of fish dishes. We got two herring sandwiches, which were very tasty and reasonably priced. The consistent quality at Gosch is great 👍🏼

We've been disappointed the last few times. Very little fish for a lot of money. But the taste was good.

We spontaneously went there for dinner on a Friday evening. I don't understand the reviews here. But I'm not as demanding as some customers 😉 Upon entry, we were explained how the restaurant works, i.e., self-service, etc. The food was ready quickly, tasty, and hot—just like that! 🙂 We can't say anything bad about it and would go back anytime!

Well, Gosch isn't what it used to be. If you're passing through and want a quick bite to eat and don't want to go to McDonald's, Gosch is fine, but that's about it. The atmosphere is nice and clean. The staff behind the counter are friendly, too, but that's about it. The food consists mainly of frozen goods; you have to get your own food and drinks. And when paying by card, the first thing you're asked is whether you want to tip, and if so, how much. For what, please?

Unfortunately zero stars are not possible... My wife and I spontaneously wanted to eat a fish sandwich yesterday, May 10th. Gosch was lying on the path. We went to the restaurant because the outside display was closed, no problem. There were three (3) customers in front of us at the checkout... oh well, it'll probably be quick. Think! The lady at the checkout was so bored and demotivated... You could actually feel how annoyed she was... After about 6 (!) minutes it was still not our turn... One more to go... The outside display didn't look good either, rolls carelessly packed together... Somehow we didn't feel like eating this Bismarck herring anymore. We left without anything... Gosch seems to exist only by name; there was no quality or service here on the Hörn.

Bad service for such a good name. Drinks and food orders can be picked up at 2 different counters. The noble fish plate was only noble in terms of price. Fish fried dry, a sauce that couldn't be classified, zero taste. Fried potatoes were fresh but not really seasoned. The only great thing is the view of the harbor.

There were fish sandwiches in the restaurant today. Unfortunately!! The good lady at the counter seemed to me like she was totally annoyed with her job. Well, okay. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. We ordered two fish sandwiches. They were then clapped together by other employees as carelessly as... well. We won't eat here again and can't recommend it.

Food and drinks are really great but the boss waiter (Kaliphate) is not working at all: super negative vibes, uncourteous, really not cool. The way he interacts with his other waiters also speaks volumes - super uncool!!! We consumed a lot but unfortunately he behaved very unpleasantly from start to finish. The rest of the staff, especially Asim, is super nice (super cool) but after the experience with Kalifat I can unfortunately only give it 1*. Too bad.

Good, not entirely cheap restaurant. The restaurant is in the immediate vicinity of the main train station and the Hörnbrücke. There was little activity on Sunday and Monday. Of course we ate fish.

Absolutely not good food here!! Food and price ratio doesn't match!! We ordered sea bass and wanted 1 slice of bread with it!! The answer was we had to buy a bread basket for €6.50 and we also wanted ketchup for the fries but they stood in the way!! And the Hammers is there, all the staff are unfriendly at their best!! Bissjetz was there twice and both days were equally unfriendly!!

It was a nice place to eat fish. Being right on the quayside, it certainly offers a beautiful view. Just a quick note: the fish and chips were a bit meager, just a lot of fries, four small pieces for €9. It was really tasty, but ultimately, unfortunately, a very expensive portion of fries. Still recommended. Enjoy your meal 😊

A Gosch as you are used to. Great cuisine, great service.

The location is very good and the atmosphere is also very pleasant. I ordered the fried fish with potato salad, which was prepared straight away and was ready in a few minutes. The service is very nice. It's a bit irritating that you have to get your own food and drinks, but the table is cleared away by the service afterwards. For me as a Swabian, the potato salad was an insult because it was prepared with mayonnaise (each to his own taste)

You can get the same thing at Nordsee for half the price, obviously a great view in the summer. I can also get them there for coffee or lemonade. Something else about your parties, a counter where you have to wait 30 minutes for a drink? So you shouldn't be surprised if the guests ask the Blue Angel across the street to refill their glasses.

The location is very good. Right on the water. Outdoor terrace sheltered from the wind and protected from sun and rain. The food isn't outstanding, but as always you get consistently good quality at fair prices at Gosch. The staff is friendly and competent.

When I visited a Gosch restaurant for the first time on December 24, I was totally disappointed by the atmosphere. Then I remembered my father (who worked at Gosch) and how Gosch started. Dad loved to tell this story that Gosch was at a fish market with a simple charcoal grill that he always had a forklift driver take to where he hoped for more sales... A market hall describes the ambience of Gosch-Kiel quite well. When I thought about the beginnings of Gosch, I liked the atmosphere. (I would still have liked to have been served at my seat) The food was very good and tasty, the wine also went well with the food.

Gosch in Kiel lives from its Sylt name, but that's all. You order food at the counter and are asked if you would like to tip for non-service. You will then receive a beeper to pick up your food after it has been prepared. Not to forget that you order and pick up the drinks at another counter!! Therefore I give 0 stars for the service. Grilled shrimp with garlic sauce was bland and the sauce suggested the garlic. White bread cut, uncovered and the cuts hard and dry. Conclusion: two portions of grilled shrimp with white bread and salad decoration, an Alster water and a glass of wine, everything to bring yourself just under € 60. So I just say thank you, NO thank you. Very disappointing if you know Gosch from Sylt or Gosch at his old location a year ago.

Good morning. Today I wanted to treat myself to a fried fish roll. The remoulade was smeared very thinly, no trace of lettuce leaves. Ok, the fish was hot, but is that all you can expect from Gosch? Luckily no one asked if we liked it. I expect more then. I was there with a friend. We work in sales nearby. So if someone asks me about delicious fish sandwiches? Oh well...

Was fine. The concept was explained to us in a very friendly manner at the entrance. I found the waiting time for the food (30 minutes) for two standard dishes to be picked up to be a bit long, but that is subjective. The quality of the food itself was okay, as was the price-performance ratio for today's standards. I had Thai noodles with shrimp, and the shrimp count was actually very high. There's nothing bad to say about the sauce, which tasted very noticeably just (!) like a paprika-peperoni brunch that we also used, it was delicious. So everything was fine, it was nice.

Ich habe im leeren Selbstbedienungsrestaurant zu Abend gegessen . Personal war mit 3 Personen vorhanden. Es war ein Pärchen gekommen , die sich mit dem „Selbstbedienungskonzept“ nicht auskannten . Die Dame bestellte ihr Essen am entsprechenden Tresen und wollte dann auch noch ihre Getränke dort ordern. Der Restaurantmitarbeiter sagte, sie müsse die Getränke am Barbereich bestellen . Das Missverständnis war, dass die Dame meinte, sie müsse die Getränke auch dort konsumieren und nicht mit ihrem Mann zusammen mit dem Essen am Tisch . Jedem Gast war es klar, dass die beiden aneinander vorbeisprachen. Anstelle mit dem Gast vernünftig zu reden , wurde der offensichtliche Restaurantleiter immer lauter und unangenehmer . Da ich noch beim Essen war, war ich nicht bereit, einzuschreiten. Es tat dies ein anderer Gast, der die Dame an den Tresen verwies und dass sie ihre Getränke selbstverständlich am Tisch mit dem Essen konsumieren könne. Warum konnte das der Restaurantleiter nicht. Es ist mit ein Rätsel! Auch habe ich bereut, dass ich ein großzügiges Trinkgeld in den Kasten gegeben habe, bei so einem Verhalten! Ich werde künftig mir für den Preis ein Fischimbiss suchen, wo ich bedient werde! Das Personal kann ja mal bei der Fischküche in Laboe in die Lehre gehen…

I like going to Gosch because it tastes good there, but on this visit I really asked myself where is the other half of my fish for €25.50 🐟 the portions were really very small for the price and I've had better ones Saw it at Gosch... Prices were exaggerated for the portions, even if it tasted good, I was disappointed, the employees here are friendly like almost everywhere, nice decor with a fireplace🔥

Spent a nice weekend in Kiel and first went to the ferry port near Gosch. Very friendly service and delicious pan fish, beautifully prepared. Gladly again!

Delicious plaice with fried potatoes!

I've been to the parties more often now, unfortunately the quality of the music isn't as good as you would expect. You feel a bit reminded of the Ballermann. Now that I'm there for the umpteenth time, it's getting annoying to follow the DJ (hands in the air, etc., babbling along to the songs, the sound turned off so everyone sings along). It would be nice if you could listen to good tracks and something special every now and then and then dance without feeling like you're at the "Old Market" during Kiel Week. A suggestion for the bar to avoid long queues: Feel free to pour a few beers in advance - because beer is always possible. Otherwise, I'm happy that there is an opportunity to celebrate in the middle of the city.

Just a deduction 5 charred pieces of fish Fries without taste! Listlessly done
